CHICAGO, IL (November 1, 2012) A sensational undercard has been announced for “WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING” set for Friday, NOVEMBER 16 at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion, it was announced today by Round 3 Productions.
“WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING” is headlined by an IBO Light Heavyweight World Title bout between “Chicago’s Polish Prince”, Andrzej Fonfara and world title challenger Tommy Karpency of Adah, Pennsylvania in a twelve round clash.
“Fight fans coming to the UIC Pavilion events in recent years have a high expectation for a terrific evening of world class professional boxing. With the addition of this sensational undercard coupled with the world title bout in the main event we are putting together a full evening of great fights” said Frank Mugnolo, President of Round 3 Productions. ‘The combined winning percentage of the fighters on the card is 89%.”
“We’ve got three very popular local prospects on the undercard, Paul Littleton, Jaime Herrera and Luis Santiago along with heavyweight contender Carl Davis. Fans want to see them in tough fights, the fighters want to be tested and we want to promote the best possible fights so everyone is a winner. Each of these four fighters is facing boxers with undefeated records.”
In the super middleweight division, former Chicago Golden Gloves Champion Paul Littleton will return to the UIC Pavilion in front of his legion of fans to face St. Louis, Missouri prospect Michael Williams in a six round middleweight clash.
With a record of 4-0-1 with four knockouts, the 26-year-old heavy-handed Littleton has looked sensational at the UIC Pavilion where his four wins have taken place. The 22-year-old undefeated Williams, 2-0-0 (2KO’s), is coming off a brutal first round knockout of Coltin Cole on APRIL 13 in St. Louis.
Just 23-years-old, Mexican American Jaime “THE TRUTH” Herrera, 8-2-0 (4KO’s), has built a massive following at the UIC Pavilion where all of his fights have taken place. At “WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING”, Herrera will be challenged by 21-year-old undefeated Patrick Boozer, 5-0-0 (2KO’s) of Ann Arbor, Michigan in a six round welterweight tilt.
Earlier this year on FEBRUARY 24, Herrera battled top prospect Adrian Granados at the UIC Pavilion, waging an excellent eight round war in front of a massive crowd of cheering fans.
Having a very busy 2012, Boozer will be making the fifth start of the year, winning a unanimous decision over Jesus Vallejo on AUGUST 18 in Helena, Montana.
Bursting onto the Chicago fight scene last year, Puerto Rican welterweight Luis “SITO” Santiago has become the local scene’s most improved fighter, compiling a record of 5-0-0 (1KO). A fan favorite at the UIC Pavilion, Santiago returns to action following a six round decision over Marlon Smith on APRIL 14.
Santiago will be challenged by the 22-year-old Justin Jones, 5-0-0 (3KO’s), of Bellair, Florida. The highly touted Jones is coming off a third round knockout of Rohan Wilson on JUNE 1 in Tampa, FL.
Heavyweights will also be represented as perennial contender Carl “IRON FIST” Davis, 16-4-0 (12KO’s), of Evanston, will clash with undefeated Kansas City, Missouri native Richard Carmack, 10-0-0 (8KO’s).
Davis looks to stay on the winning track following a second round knockout of two-time world title challenger Bert Cooper on SEPTEMBER 8 in Hammond, Indiana.
Looking to continue his climb in the heavyweight rankings, the 24-year-old Carmack returns to the ring following a “no-contest” against Byron Polley on SEPTEMBER 22 caused as a result of an accidental head-butt.
