Atlantic City, NJ—Thomas LaManna, of Millville, NJ, coming off the biggest win of his career, returns to action Saturday evening, June 1, when he takes on in-state rival Alando Swain, of Trenton, in a six-round middleweight match in the Grand Ballroom at Bally’s Atlantic City.
Headlining the seven-bout card is a 10-round junior lightweight contest between former world title challenger Teon Kennedy, of Philadelphia, PA, and Carlos Vinan, of Newark, NJ. First fight is 7.30 pm and the show will be streamed live on the internet by www.gofightlive.tv.
The eight-round junior lightweight semifinal features Jason Sosa, of Camden, NJ, against Georgi Kevlishvili, of Philadelphia.
LaManna, 21, earned the biggest win of his career on March 8 in Atlantic City when he scored a pair of knockdowns en route to a six-round decision over Joshua Snyder, of Berlin, MD.
A pro for 27 months, the 6-foot-2 LaManna, nicknamed “Cornflake,” has an 11-0 record with six knockouts and is extremely popular in the South Jersey area.
Swain, 32, is 5-2-1, 1 K0, but he has not fought since losing a six-round decision to undefeated Wilkins Santiago, of Lorain, OH, 13 months ago in Atlantic City. A pro for three years, Swain has been trying to secure a match with LaManna for the last year.
Middleweights Alex Sanchez, of Camden, NJ, and Fred Jenkins, Jr., of Philadelphia, PA, collide in another six-round fight on the June 1 card. Sanchez is 2-2-1, 2 K0s; Jenkins is 5-1, 2 K0s.
Four four-round fights complete the card.
