DANI DAVIS LOOKING TO “PUSH ON” TOWARDS SOUTHERN AREA TITLE, JUNE 8TH, GLOW, BLUEWATER, LIVE FROM 9.30PM ON CHANNEL 5 & WEALTH TV
London (31 May) Croydon fighter Dani Davis looking to “push on” towards a Southern Area title shot.
The 31-year-old light-welterweight last fought in July and cannot wait “get the ball moving” back in the ring.
“I can’t wait! It’s a great opportunity on a great show and thanks to Mick Hennessy for getting me on it and getting me out there, I really appreciate the opportunity on a good stage,” Dani said.
“My last fight was in July, so I can’t wait to get out there and get the ball moving – I was supposed to be boxing in January and then that didn’t happen and for one reason or another I’ve not fought, so it’s been really frustrating.
“I’m hoping to get a good win and push on and then maybe go for the Southern Area title – I’ve been watching fighters in Britain and I don’t think there is anyone out there who is head and shoulders above me – I just want to push on and see.”
Davis has won all four of his professional contests, with one knockout and is fully focussed on maintaining his perfect record and going as far as he can in the sport.
“The main thing is to get the win and hopefully after that people will respect what I’m doing and hopefully follow me,” Dani said.
“I’m not the youngest fighter in the world and I want to get to a good level, so I’ve got to stay busy now, box on this show and then hopefully get another fight sooner rather than later and then go for the Southern Area title.
“I’m feeling really good and ready for it, my training is going really well and I’ve no complaints, I just can’t wait to get back out there.”
Dani features on the James DeGale undercard at Glow, Bluewater, on Saturday 8th June, looking for his fifth straight professional win in as many fights.
The Hennessy Sports show, live on Channel 5 in the UK from 9.30pm and on Wealth TV, features WBC Silver super-middleweight champion James DeGale defending his title against Croatian fighter Stjepan Bozic.
It also features unbeaten WBC International super-bantamweight champion Kid Galahad, son of the legend, middleweight sensation Chris Eubank Jr in his 10th professional fight and the World Youth super-heavyweight champion Hughie Fury in his fifth professional contest.
The undercard will also feature Sammy Cantwell from Bexleyheath, Peter McDonagh from Bermondsey and Eli Green of Guildford.
