PHOENIX — June 21, 2013 — Valley fight fans will be treated to a high-energy, spectacular show on July 20th, when Iron Boy Promotions once again takes over Phoenix’s Celebrity Theatre for Iron Boy 8.
In the main event, Juan Garcia (18-3, 7KOs) will take on El Paso’s Adan Hernandez (15-7, 6KOs) in what promises to be as explosive as Garcia’s last outing on Iron Boy Promotions’ Iron Boy 7 card in May, when Garcia knocked out his opponent in the second round. Hernandez is a tough fighter, who has previously faced tough competition in fighters Danny Garcia and Urbano Antillon. This is a fight that boxing fans will not want to miss.
In the co-main event, Victor “El Nino” Castro looks to remain undefeated as he returns to the ring to face Marcos Herrera (6-9-1, 2KOs). Castro looked solid in his March knock-out win on Iron Boy 6. His opponent has also faced stiff competition, fighting boxers such as Sharif Bogere, Omar Figeroa and Jamie Kavanagh.
Also on the card, exciting valley prospect Carlos “The Chosen One” Castro (4-0, 1KO) looks to continue his unbeaten streak. Castro’s opponent, Juan Carlos Benavides (2-0, 1KO), hails from Mexico. In March, on Iron Boy 6, Castro walked away with an easy unanimous decision over his foe, the much-tested Jazzma Hogue. With his professional wins adding to his already impressive amateur career record of 98-10, Castro will take the next step toward bringing a world championship belt to Arizona.
Francisco “Panchito” C. de Vaca (1-0, 1KO) will be following up his May debut win, facing Michael James Herrera. De Vaca knocked out his opponent in the first round, and hopes to do the same in his bout with Herrera. In another fan-friendly and exciting match-up, Tucson’s Jensen Ramirez (2-2-2, 0KOs) will look to break Emilio Garcia’s (7-0-1, 1KO) undefeated streak in a six round bout. Rounding out the card, Joey Rueles (4-0-1, 2KOs) will face Victor Arreola (0-0-1), and Mario Esparza will make his professional debut against Tucson’s Wilberth Lopez (1-0, 1KO), who knocked out his opponent in his debut fight on Iron Boy 7.
Said Iron Boy Promotions president, Roberto Vargas about the event, “Arizona fighters are tough, don’t duck fights and aren’t afraid to step in the ring with any opponent. There are some great match-ups on this card, and boxing fans are in for a treat.”
For the first time, Iron Boy Promotions will be streaming this electrifying card on its website, www.iron-boy.com. More information on this will be forthcoming. A trailer for Iron Boy 8 is available on Iron Boy Promotions’ YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/ironboypromotions.
Tickets for the event may be purchased at www.iron-boy.com or at the Celebrity Theatre box office for $25, $35 and ringside tickets for only $45. Doors open at 5 p.m. on July 20h, and fights start at 6 p.m.
