London (29 October) James DeGale MBE is ready to give his best performance to date and prove his knee troubles are truly behind him.

The WBC Silver super middleweight champion has been undergoing physiotherapy for his injured knee and now feels he is ready to once again show his best form.

“I’m going to show that once and for all my knee problem is behind me,” the 2008 Olympic gold medallist said.

“I think from the Hadillah Mohoumadi fight you’ve seen me gradually get better, through the Fulgencio Zuniga fight, Sebastien Demers and Stjepan Bozic, you’ve seen me bending more, throwing more shots, throwing my combinations, using angles more, so in this one you’ll see another big difference as well.”

James enters the ring at Glow, Bluewater on November 16th, live on Channel 5 from 10pm, where he faces the resilient American ‘Dangerous’ Dyah Davis, son of 1976 Olympic champion Howard Davis Jr.

A man full of pedigree who has blemished the records of unbeaten fighters and traded leather with current WBC world super middleweight champion Sakio Bika.

But the man fondly known as ‘Chunky’ enters the ring knowing he is injury free and ready to deliver a big performance.

“I feel really good, just going through training nice and I just want to box and November 16th we’re ready,” DeGale said.

“Self confidence wise I’m right up there, because I was getting into the ring knowing that I wasn’t 100 percent, so now, knowing that I’m fully fit and I’ve got no injuries, getting in there, I’m back to my old self – I’m back and full of confidence.”
