Las Vegas – January 15, 2014 El Paso, Texas will be Rocktagon MMA’s first destination of the new year when the promotion returns to the Buchanan Event Center on January 17 with the all-pro “Journey of Champions 30.”
First impressions are everything, and Rocktagon left no stone unturned in its effort to put together an absolutely stellar fight card from top to bottom.
The headliner features a highly-anticipated showdown between submission aces Billy Colon and Daniel Miller.
Despite being the younger fighter, Colon will enjoy an edge in experience with his professional tenure closing in on six years. He was featured in the main event of Rocktagon 28 last year in El Paso, where he suffered a controversial TKO loss to Martin Sano Jr.
A win over another tough veteran like Miller would go a long way in helping Colon erase that deficit and move one step closer to a coveted title shot.
Miller, on the other hand, is looking to steal some of Colon’s thunder and add a notable name to his résumé.
The card also features a bout between hard-nosed strikers Desmond Hill and Oliver Parker. MMA’s old adage, “don’t blink,” is especially relevant in this particular style matchup. The combined power of Hill and Parker is enough to light up all of El Paso.
Patrick Dixon will also be in action that night. After his brilliant first round submission win over Anthony Stevens at Rocktagon 28, he’ll be looking to keep the momentum rolling against an always dangerous Carl Perry.
The full fight card, which is subject to change, is listed below:
Billy Colon vs. Daniel Miller
Desmond Hill vs. Oliver Parker
Patrick “Skar” Dixon vs. Carl Perry
Amanda Lovato vs. Jessica Armstrong
Julio Hinojosa vs. Anthony Stevens
Jesus Urbina vs. Jonathan Lopez
Omar Acosta vs. Joseph E. Gonzalez-Provencio
Turrell Galloway vs. Paco Castillo
Timothy Sosa vs. Alan Lerma
