(San Diego) – Always on the forefront of San Diego boxing, California boxing hall of fame promoter Bobby D. Presents showcases the first fight of 2015 with a five-bout fight card full of some of the most exciting prospects southern California has to offer. The “Road to Redemption” fight card will be held at the now legendary San Diego venue, the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, in the San Diego suburb of Kearny Mesa. In the main event, undefeated big man Scott Alexander (9-0-1, 5KO) will look to stay unbeaten when he takes on his most experienced to date in Sacramento, CA’s Rodney Hernandez (6-2-1, 1KO) in a heavyweight six rounder.
The hard-hitting Alexander of Los Angeles, CA, has been out for twelve months due to a light injury but now is back with abandon and looks to add to his KO streak. Hernandez last loss has come to former Olympian Michael Hunter which he went six rounds with and is coming a unanimous decision over Siala Siligia. Don’t expect for this fight to go the distance.
In the semi-main event, lightweight Leon “3rd Generation” Spinks III (10-1-1, 6KO) comes back to San Diego to take on the rugged Cesar “Mayu” Garcia (11-17-1, 5KO) of Ensenada, Mexico, in a four rounder. Spinks III is the grandson of great heavyweight champ “Neon” Leon Spinks, the great-nephew of former light heavyweight champion Michael Spinks and nephew of former undisputed super welterweight champion Cory Spinks. The southpaw Spinks III needs to be ready for the experience Garcia if he is to follow on his famous relative footsteps.
Rounding out the card will be San Diego favorite Ernesto “Chato” Martinez (10-8-1, 5KO) vs Jose Alvarez (3-3) in a super middleweight four, Ngoc Truong (0-1) facing Miguelito Marti (0-3) at super featherweight and pro first timers Isaac Freeman against Jeff Tabrizi.
