With a spectacular average rating of 459,000 viewers for the duration of a telecast exceeding three-hours, the “Payano vs. Warren: Premier Boxing Champions – The Next Round” event on Bounce TV was officially a smashing success and promoter Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing wishes to thank everyone involved.
Warriors Boxing promoted the debut of PBC on Bounce TV, which featured three televised fights, this past Sunday, August 2, at Full Sail Live on the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
In the 10-round opener, the US Virgin Islands’ John Jackson (20-2, 15 KOs) took an impressive unanimous decision over Dennis Laurente (49-6, 30 KOs) of the Philippines.
Then, in the second co-main event, Mexico’s Jorge Cota Lugo (25-1, 22 KOs) defeated Cuba’s Yudel Jhonson (17-2, 9 KOs) by a 10-round unanimous decision in a candidate for “Fight of the Year”. And then, not to be outdone, Dominican bantamweight champion Juan Carlos Payano (17-0, 8 KOs) defeated Cincinnati’s Rau’shee Warren (13-1, 4 KOs) by 12-round split decision in a gruelling war of attrition.
“Not only was the event a total sellout with hundreds of fans turned away at the door, the TV production was terrific, the venue was beautiful, the crowd was sensational and the fights were some of the best this year,” said an enthusiastic Leon Margules. “Numbers like these immediately establish Bounce TV as a new force in the boxing industry.”
