Feigenbutz headlines hometown show against De Carolis on October 17
German KO specialist Vincent Feigenbutz (20-1, 19 KOs) headlines a hometown show on October 17 at the dm-arena in Karlsruhe, Germany against Italian Giovanni De Carolis (23-5, 11 KOs).
The 20 year-old has taken the super middleweight division by storm since turning professional in December 2011, claiming twenty victories including nineteen knockouts, and winning the interim WBA belt in the process.
To reward his efforts, ‘Iron Junior’ takes top billing on October 17, giving him a chance to showcase his devastating knockout power in front of his home fans in the South German town.
‘’At last I get the chance to fight at home and headline my first big show,’’ said Feigenbutz.‘’It’s a dream come true! I will repay the trust my promoter Team Sauerland and their TV partners have shown in me with a great performance on October 17.’’
Coach Hans-Peter Brenner is expecting a tough test for his young protégé. ‘’De Carolis is a tough customer,’’ said Brenner. ‘’He pushed Arthur Abraham over twelve rounds and gave him some problems. Vince must be well prepared. Therefore an intensive training camp is necessary and we will return to the mountains of Slovenia.’’
‘’We’re delighted to be staging an event in Karlsruhe,’’ said Sauerland Event General Manager, Frederick Ness. ‘’Many years after Sven Ottke and Regina Halmich, we return with another big boxing event. The name Vincent Feigenbutz stands for great entertainment and he is sure to deliver against De Carolis.’’
Feigenbutz’s manager Rainer Gottwald is particularly proud that the fight has been brought to Karlsruhe. ‘’There is huge demand for this event,’’ said Gottwald. ‘’Vincent has worked hard and attracted a lot of attention with his spectacular KOs. He is no longer far away from the world’s elite and he will prove this on October 17.’’
Also in action will be 17 year-old super middleweight Leon Bauer (3-0, 3 KOs), who having started his professional with three KO victories, is hoping to follow in Feigenbutz’s footsteps.
‘’Vince is leading the way,’’ said Bauer, who will face Serbian veteran Aleksandar Jankovic (10-36, 8 KOs). ‘’After only three years, he is already at the top of the world rankings, and that is where I want to be one day.’’
Further undercard announcements will be made shortly. Tickets for the October 17 show in Karlsruhe are available via tickethall.de and eventim.de.
