Toronto – Fight Network, the world’s premier 24/7 television channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, presents the first live Resurrection Fighting Alliance broadcast of 2015 this Friday, Jan. 15 at 10 p.m. ET, as RFA 34: Velickovic vs. Smith emanates from 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The event will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Serbian sensation Bojan “Serbian Steel” Velickovic (12-3) and former RFA welterweight champion Benjamin Smith (15-3).
RFA 34: Velickovic vs. Smith will be broadcast live on Fight Network in Canada and globally in over 30 countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The domestic U.S. broadcast airs on AXS TV.
In addition to the Velickovic vs. Smith headliner, the co-main event will see Colorado native Adam Stroup (10-2) and former RFA title challenger John Poppie (6-2) meet in a middleweight showdown.
The main card of RFA 34 will also include a pair of RFA and Colorado fan favorites in the light heavyweight division, as Cody Mumma (8-2) looks to ride the momentum of three consecutive KO victories when he faces fellow RFA vet Jeremy Kimball (11-5), who will be entering this contest fresh off a lightning fast KO victory of his own.
In the bantamweight division, six-time UFC vet Hugo “Wolverine” Viana (8-3) and two-time RFA vet Zac “The Anointed Warrior” Riley (3-3) will share the RFA Octagon together, plus Brian Camozzi (4-2) makes his long awaited RFA debut when he faces Tyler Milner (7-2) in a welterweight contest, while the main card gets started in the featherweight division with a pair of top prospects eager to make their national television debuts, as Cory Sandhagen (1-0) collides with Andrew Tenneson (3-0).
Live action returns to Fight Network just two days later with a special presentation of the UFC Fight Night™: Dillashaw vs. Cruz prelims on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 8 p.m. ET, airing exclusively in Canada. In featured prelim action, battle-tested French-Canadian warrior Patrick Cote (22-9) seeks his third straight triumph at 170 pounds when he takes on Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Ben Saunders (19-6-2). Other bouts include a light heavyweight showcase pitting Tim Boetsch (18-9) against Ed Herman (22-11, 1NC), a lightweight matchup between red-hot New Yorker Chris Wade (10-1) and highly touted newcomer Mehdi Baghdad (11-3), plus Venezuelan knockout artist Maximo Blanco (12-6-1, 1NC) looks to make it four straight against undefeated bantamweight newcomer Luke Sanders (10-0).
