Almost two weeks later, and people still can’t stop talking about it.
Jesse Hart’s homecoming fight against Dashon Johnson before a sold-out 2300 Arena on March 18 was an instant classic.
Hart, the NABO and USBA super-middleweight champion, wasn’t content to wait for a decision after dominating the early rounds. Hart and a game Johnson traded major blows for the rest of the fight, which wasn’t decided until the final bell.
If you missed the legendary night, or just want to relive it once more, the entire Hart of the City card is available to watch on Go Fight Live! Don’t miss the action that thrilled the likes of Bernard Hopkins, Bryant Jennings, Julian Williams, Iran Barkley, Charles Brewer, Robert Hines and Stanley Hayward.
“Great card, sensational main event, a tenth round for the books,” said HBO analyst Harold Lederman, who was seated ringside. “It was just like the old days in Philly, for sure. Need more.”
The undercard certainly didn’t lack for fireworks, either. Four of the first five fights ended by stoppage, and there were tightly contested two split decisions on the card. Vineland’s Ismael “Tito” Garcia and Washington D.C.’s Mike Reed both remained unbeaten, and Northeast Philly’s Scott Kelleher scored an impressive knockout.
