Toronto – Fight Network, the world’s premier 24/7 multi-platform channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, presents live action beginning on Friday, May 6 at 9 p.m. ET, as Cinco de Mayo weekend kicks off just one day ahead of the highly anticipated showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Amir Khan.
At 9 p.m. ET, Fight Network presents a live three-hour broadcast of Golden Boy Promotions from Toshiba Plaza in Las Vegas, headlined by an NABF and NABA lightweight title unification between Russia’s Petr Petrov (36-4-2, 17 KO) and Tijuana knockout artist Marvin Quintero (28-6, 24 KO). In the televised co-main event, former WBA champion Pablo Cesar Cano (29-4-1, 21 KO) will take on resilient Californian Alan Sanchez (17-3-1, 9 KO).
Just two days later, Fight Network will air the live UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: OVEREEM vs. ARLOVSKI prelims exclusively in Canada this Sunday, May 8 at 12 p.m. ET, preceded by a pre-show at 11 a.m. ET. The main card airs live on TSN2 at 2 p.m. ET.
In the featured prelim contested in the lightweight division, Dagestani Jackson-Winkeljohn student Rustam Khabilov (18-3) looks to put a stop to the six-fight winning streak of New York-based wrestler Chris Wade (11-1). In other action, Sweden’s Magnus Cedenblad (13-4) meets South African’s Garreth McLellan (13-3) in a middleweight bout, Jon Tuck (9-2) takes on undefeated late replacement Josh Emmett (9-0) in a lightweight pairing, plus Brazil’s Yan Cabral (12-2) throws down with Iranian Reza Madadi (13-4) in a lightweight clash.
Before all the action, the fighters will come face-to-face during Fight Network’s live broadcast of the UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: OVEREEM vs. ARLOVSKI weigh-ins on Saturday, May 7 at 11:30 a.m. ET, as headliners Alistair Overeem and Andrei Arlovski tip the scales ahead of their heavyweight main event showdown.
Following Saturday’s main card, Fight Network will broadcast the live UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: OVEREEEM vs. ARLOVSKI post-fight press conference in its entirety, featuring all the aftermath.
