August 5- Three Of Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing’s fighters will be in action this weekend.
First up is former Cuban Amateur standout Luis “La Estrella” Franco (14-1-1 9KO Miami, FL) taking on the tough Carlos Morales (13-1-3 6KO Mexico) for the vacant NABA Super Featherweight Title in the main event August 5th at The Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The bout, co-promoted by Star Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions, is scheduled for 10 rounds in the Super Featherweight division and will be telecast live on Estrella TV starting at 10pm EST.
Next up on August 6th in Philadelphia, PA will be Jr. Welterweight contender Emanuel “Tranzformer” Taylor (19-4 13KO Edgewater, MD) taking on the rugged Carlos Aguilera (10-17 4KO San Juan, PR) in a Jr. Welterweight bout scheduled for 8 rounds.
Taylor, who is coming off a TKO of Wilfredo Acuna on Feb. 27th of this year, looks to stay sharp as he has an impending showdown with once beaten Jose Zepeda on Sept. 3rd in Arizona on BEIN TV.
Finally and also fighting on August 6th will be Light Heavyweight contender Yuniesky Gonzalez (16-2 12KO Miami, FL) squaring off against the dangerous Brazilian Jackson Junior (21-6 19KO) in a 10 round bout.
Gonzalez looks to get back in the win column after two consecutive heart breaking defeats to Jean Pascal and Vyacheslav Shabransky.
