Chicago, IL (June 23, 2017) Chicagoland fan favorite MIKE “HOLLYWOOD” JIMENEZ, (21-1-1, 14 KO’s), fighting in front of a huge crowd of over 2,200 local fight fans on Friday night defeated “Son of the Legend”, AARON PRYOR JR., (19-11-2, 12 KO’s) by split decision (96-93. 95-94 and 93-96) earning the vacant World Boxing Council Continental Americas Super Middleweight Title.
As HITZ BOXING and ROUND 3 PRODUCTIONS held the massively successful boxing debut, the ROSEMONT RUMBLE, at Rosemont’s ‘The Dome at the Ballpark’, Jimenez, adorned in the colors of his alma mater, the Maine West High School Warriors, valiantly fought his way to the victory including rising from a hard knockdown in the eighth round.
In a sensational fight that had the fans on their feet throughout, Jimenez closed the show strongly in the final two rounds to ensure the win.
“This is the greatest moment of my boxing career, Aaron is a great fighter and I’m honored to win this WBC Title in front of the best fans in boxing,” said Jimenez. “We worked so hard in the gym, my coaches Sam Colonna and Rita Figueroa, it really paid off in the fight.”

Featured on the undercard, Chicago’s TOMMY “WHITE LIGHTNING” HUGHES improved to 3-0 with two knockouts stopping pro debut GARY TADLOCK GARZA of Mishauwaka, Indiana in the first round (2:50) following a flurry of power shots.
Also on the undercard in a scheduled 10-round bout, perennial contender DONOVAN ‘DA BOMB’ GEORGE, (25-8-2, 22 KO’s), of Chicago, Illinois was stopped by Gary, Indiana’s DERRICK “SUPERMAN” FINDLEY, (27-21-1, 18 KO’s), in the fifth round (2:24) of an exciting scrap.
In a battle of heavyweights, Arkansas native JAMAL WOODS, (12-36-6, 10 KO’s), stopped Chicago’s LORENZO HOOD, (4-1-0, 2 KO’s), with a body shot at the 1:49 mark of the of the second stanza. Hood had also been dropped earlier in the opening round.
In a women’s four round junior middleweight battle, McHenry, Illinois SARAH CURRAN, (1-1), won her first professional bout with a four round unanimous decision over Chicago’s AMANDA GINSKI who was making her pro debut. Scores were 40-36 twice and 39-37.
In an excellent kick off to the evening’s fights, Chicago’s ANTHONY ABBRUZZESE, (5-6, 4 KO’s), pulled off an upset, stopping the previously undefeated NICK RAMIREZ, (10-1-1, 2 KO’s), in the fourth round (2:59) of their scheduled six round super middleweight clash.
