Donnie Nietes will take on Aston Palicte for a vacant super flyweight title on August 18th in the Philippines, according to Dan Rafael of espn.com.
“The plan is on Aug. 18 in Cebu City,” said Nietes promoter Michael Aldeguer said. “However, contracts have not been signed yet as there are some clarifications that need to be cleared out. We hope to get things done within the week and when everything is signed we will make a formal announcement.
“Donnie is now in Los Angeles training for the Aug. 18 target date as this will be a new division for him. He will be back in the Philippines on July 2 to continue his training.”
