Miami, FL (June 15, 2021) – 33-year-old, Harold ‘The King’ Calderon, (24-0, 16 KOs) entire boxing career has been under the boxing media spotlight for his successful recognitions. His upcoming fight on ‘Title Night 2’ scheduled for June 19, will mark a continuance of his hard work since he will be fighting on the same day as the Undisputed Champion Teofimo Lopez, a fellow Honduran and close friend.
It was announced today that the Teofimo Lopez fight against George Kambosos Jr. has been postponed due to Lopez testing positive for Covid-19, now that it has been rescheduled to August 14, 2021. The boxing media already in Miami has now shifted attention to Harold ‘The King’ Calderon who will be headlining in a 10-round welterweight battle for the vacant IBO Inter-Continental Welter Title between Jeovanis Barraza, (22-1, 15 KOs), of Barranquilla, Colombia.
Calderon, an explosive southpaw, comes from an impressive performance against veteran, Jonathan Jose Eniz back on March 27, 2021. The last six opponents prior to Eniz came via a knockout.
Harold is one of four boys born to Honduran immigrants, Calderon, and his family moved from Chicago to Miami when he was five years old. The rough Miami surroundings made him start boxing and he has not looked back ever since. Calderon’s love for the sport and his support of the community has gained him a huge following in Miami.
As an amateur, Harold won many tournaments, but the highlight of his amateur career was in 2013 when he represented Honduras at the Central Olympic Games. Calderon earned a silver medal after losing in the finals.
Harold is set to capitalize on the misfortune of Teofimo by planning to make a statement in front of the boxing media by crowning himself as another Honduran Champion. The achievement of the IBO Inter-Continental Welter Title will give him the credibility to call out other fighters in the Welterweight
