Zamora, who just finalized his final day of training camp, gives his thoughts on his upcoming bout with Torres, his future and more.
On his recent training camp:
“Camp has been good, a bit tough as I am pushing myself to the limits. I know this is a life-changing moment if I win this fight, so I have invested all of my time and money into this camp so that I can give myself the best chance to win.”
On his matchup with Ruben Torres:
“I am impressed with Ruben Torres as a fighter and a person, but in the ring, I won’t show the same respect. I think he is still very young in the sport of boxing and hasn’t got the experience needed yet to win at the next level. After I beat him, he will become a much better fighter.”
On what a win will do for his career:
“I want to change my future as a pro boxer. Right now, I am taking short-notice fights, and a lot of hard fights to get opportunities. This is the first camp in many fights in which I am healthy and had time to prepare for my opponent. This is my biggest chance to prove myself in the sport of boxing.”
On fighting in front of fans since the pandemic:
“I love the atmosphere of having the fans in attendance and being able to feed off their energy. I know my opponent has a lot of fans in the L.A. area, so I will also be motivated by any noises I hear in the crowd. My plan is to give him his first loss in front of his people.”
