George was an inspiration, my brother, a man who was innovative and imaginative. He demonstrated what you could do with yourself even though you might be born poor, under privileged, downtrodden and denied. He proved what you can do when think “yes I can” when the world tells you “no you can’t”
He meant everything to me. He was an inspiration and an example to the young to have a dream and pursue that dream until it comes true. And I’m very happy to have been part of that dream with him, when I put on the fight in Zaire with Ali and Foreman, the legendary “Rumble in the jungle”, he was a living example of making losing, the personification of winning. I’m sure that if Ali was alive today, he too would say, George was a great human being.
George has left this house here on earth, and gone to his heavenly house.
His spirit lives on. He was truly a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful man.
