QUEENSBERRY WILL LAND in Bournemouth for the second time on Saturday following a hugely successful show at the beginning of March when Ryan Garner became European super featherweight champion.

This time around, The Piranha from nearby Southampton, will defend his European title and bid to add two further belts by taking on the British and Commonwealth champion Reece Bellotti at the Bournemouth International Centre.

Today the BIC hosted the final press conference, giving the fighters the chance to have the last word ahead of the triple-title collision and below are a selection of key quotes from this media event.

A limited number of tickets remain for Garner vs Bellottis at the BIC on 26 July and are available from bic.co.uk.

Ryan Garner
“I am feeling good and it is good to be headlining again so close to home. It is a massive opportunity for me, obviously fighting for the British, Commonwealth and European titles, it is all the marbles domestically.

“Obviously I’ve got to get through this one if I want to be a world champion, so I am looking forward to a good fight, an exciting fight. I know everyone will be in for a good fight.

“Our styles will gel nicely, I think. We both like to have a little fight, but that is not the only thing I’ve got in my armoury. I can box, I can fight, I believe I can do it all, to be honest with you.

“Listen, I believe I will win the fight and I think it will be exciting in there at times. I am sure everyone tuning in at home and everyone in attendance will be in for a good fight and night. Just make sure you are there.

“I remember when I was younger he was fighting on these Sky Sports bills and I was watching him fight. He is a very, very good fighter and this is the hardest fight of my career. He has been in with some great names, he has beaten a lot of good fighters and he is the reigning and defending British and Commonwealth champion.

“So he has got my utmost respect and I believe this will be an exciting fight, one I am well up for and I believe I am going to be British, Commonwealth and European champion come Saturday night.”

Reece Bellotti
“I am just happy to be here, it is a great event and the European is a title that I’ve always wanted to have. It is the next step for me and it is a fight I am looking forward to.

“It is going to be one of the hardest of my career, I am under no illusions. Me and Garner have got a lot of respect for each other as fighters and you don’t always have to bad talk each other to make it an exciting fight.

“Our styles are going to gel well and it is going to be a good fight. You adapt and learn in the ring at the same time and certain experiences will come to show on the night. I am lucky to have them.

“Absolutely (the man to get a win for Matchroom), I believe so. I want to win the fight more for myself than I do for Matchroom, but it is just an added bonus for Eddie. I am here for the win. He hasn’t been in touch, no, but I tell a lie, he asked how I was yesterday.”
