Elijah Garcia to Take on Ronald Ellis on Fundora – Thurman card
Sources have told theboxinghour.com /15rounds.com that middleweight Elijah Garcia will move up to super middleweight to take on Ronald Ellis on October 25th on the Sebastian Fundora – Keith Thurman Amazon PPV card in Las Vegas.
That fight could take place before the PPV portion as the PPV lineup was announced several weeks ago that included title fights featuring O’Shaquie Foster defending his 130-pound title against Stephen Fulton. Jesus Ramos Jr. will square off with Shane Mosley Jr. in an interim middleweight crown, plus an appearance by super welterweight Isaac Lucero will round out the PPV portion.
Garcia of Phoenix is 17-1 with 13 knockouts and is coning off a 10-round split decision over Terrell Gausha on March 22nd. The 22 year-old is looking the get in contention in the hotly contested 168-pound division.
Ellis, 35, is 18-5-2 with 12 knockouts is looking to get back in the win column after dropping four-straight to a murderous row of opponents that includes David Benavidez, Christian Mbilli, Erik Bazinyan and his lastest outing when he dropped a 10-round unanimous decision to Patrick Mukata last September 28th in Johannesburg, South Africa. Most recently, Ellis was a main sparring partner for Fernando Vargas Jr.
