Felix Parrilla remained undefeated and became the first fighter to stop Jose Velasquez as he scored second round stoppage in a 10-round featherweight bout in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Just before the first-round bell sounded, Parrilla landed a right hand and left hook that made the knee of Velasquez touch the canvas. In round two, Parrilla landed a left hook to the jaw that put Velasquez down again. Parilla ended things after a flurry that forced the corner to throw the towel in at 2:02.

Parrilla, 125.4 lbs of New Haven, CT is 13-0 with 11 knockouts. Velazquez, 125.8 lbs of Chile is 34-13-3.

Derlyn Hernandez shocked Abisael Cotto with a stunning eighth-round stoppage in a 10-round junior lightweight bout.

In round three, Hernandez dropped Cotto with a big left hook that was followed by a straight right to the chin. In round four, both guys were leaking blood from the nose.

In round eight, Hernandez uncorked a devastating left hook that froze Cotto and crumpled him to the canvas and Cotto could not beat the count at 2:39.

Hernandez, 129.4 lbs of Monte Planta, DR is 14-5-1 with 12 knockouts. Cotto, 130 lbs of San Juan is 10-1.

Kiria Tapia remained undefeated with a eight-round unanimous decision over Ayanna Vasquez in a junior lightweight fight.

Tapia, 130 lbs of San Juan won by scores of 80-72 on all cards and is now 9-0. Vasquez, 128.8 lbs of Las Cruces, NM is 7-2-1.

Garrett Rice won a six-round unanimous decision over Johniel Ramos Cotto in a lightweight bout.

In round four, Cotto was credited with a knockdown when he landed a combination and Rice went to the canvas. Replays showed that Rice slipped to the canvas. In round six, Cotto began to swell under his right eye.

Rice, 135.4 lbs of Flint, MI won by scores of 58-55 on all cards and is now 3-0. Cotto, 132.2 lbs of Sabana Grande, PR is 4-4.
