ALYCIA BAUMGARDNER QUOTES

On her thoughts following her bout vs. Bo Mi Re Shin:

When we talk about legacy, and we talk about development, these are the types of fights that I need to be in. These are the type of fights that really put my skills to the test and my mentality and my mental. Physically, I have it, but mentally, it’s another threshold to overcome.

On her performance:

I hope that you guys just saw the separation from my last performance in December to this performance. So, it was everything that I enjoyed.

On facing Katie Taylor:

I think when we talk about a Katie Taylor, we talk about someone who is just as skilled. I believe in my abilities, and I’m sure she believes in hers. But when we talk about high-level boxing, when it comes to women, she’s a perfect person to be in the ring with.

On doing three-minute rounds:

I think when you understand what an extra minute does for my type of style, it allows me to take my time. It allows me to set up the punches and pick my punches. Punch placement is everything in boxing, and I have a really great IQ and timing. So, that’s why you have to be patient to get some of those shots in.

On knocking down Bo Mi Re Shin in the fourth round:

I definitely knocked her down. I did knock her down for sure. Go back and watch it.

On being asked if she will face Caroline Dubois:

When we talk about Alicia Baumgardner and her career and her trajectory on where she is going, we have to align her with the biggest fights. I’m at a stage where I’m at the biggest fights. Dubois is a great fighter. Yes, but she’s nowhere near where I am.

On making adjustments in the ring:

I have a great team. They will tell me instructions, but ultimately I have to make that adjustment in the ring.

On coming out with Lil Kim:

It was everything. When we talk about women’s sports, when we talk about women’s movement, we talk about being a collective. I think it is so key and representation matters. And to be in a sport like boxing, to add the entertainment, to add the movie, to add just the excitement, you know, we have to think about how we set the bar. And Little Kim was perfect for New York.

JAHMAL HARVEY QUOTES

On Daniel Lugo’s performance:

He was taking some shots pretty well. I knew I had to start breaking him down. I started hitting the body a little bit more.

On his engine during the bout:

I’m always grateful for the rounds. It just shows that I got a high motor.

On taking control of the bout:

After the first two rounds, I knew I had to start slowing it down, slowing down the pace. He was starting to hold a lot.

NAT DOVE QUOTES

On her performance vs. Maria Micheo:

As a fighter in the ring, I think I did my part. I saw what I was landing, and I saw how she was reacting to that.

On her plan during the bout:

I was trying to stick to the plan, stay sharp, and just box.

On Maria Micheo’s pressure during the bout:

Throughout the fight, it was rough on both ends. A lot of us are coming in, clashing heads, and I was trying to avoid getting headbutted as best as I could, but at the same time, she was putting a lot of pressure.

MIKE LEANARDI (HEAD OF BOXING, MVP) QUOTES

On Shadia Green’s condition after her bout vs. Lani Daniels:

Shadiasia is awake and talkative. It was a scary moment for all of us. She’s looking much better. We’ll keep everyone updated through socials.

On MVP’s performance of the night bonuses:

We had two performance of the night bonuses. One is going to Lani Daniels, upsetting the card, and becoming the unified super middleweight champion. Heck of a performance by her. The other performance of the night bonus […] is going to Bo Mi Re Shin. Bo Mi came all the way from Korea and fought a tremendous fight.

On Lani Daniels being taken to a local hospital after her bout vs. Shadasia Green:

Lani was taken to a local hospital just as a precaution. She has an 18-hour flight home, so they just want to make sure she is tip-top before she flies out tomorrow.
