Below are quotes from the participants at the jam-packed Liberty Brawl Media Workouts.
Eddie ‘The Underground King’ Alvarez / Philly Combat Sports Legend
“The fights themselves sell, and that’s what’s special about BKFC. Most of the fights end within five minutes because it’s a real fight with bare fists. It’s the greatest sport on the planet.”
“If you really want to experience the culture of Philadelphia, it’s a fist fight and BKFC has granted you the opportunity to experience that culture on July 3. In Philadelphia, we fight; come see it.”
David Feldman, BKFC Founder and President“This is going to be an amazing night for us. It’s been an amazing year; an amazing eight years with BKFC. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our fans and supporters.”
“Austin Trout is one of the best pure boxers that’s ever entered the game. It all comes down to which Austin Trout is in there. He always trains to the best of his abilities; I’m not worried about that. But has he gotten old? I don’t think that’s happened, but that’s the only question mark. Ben Bonner knows that his last fight wasn’t fantastic and we gave him a shot and he knows he has to be phenomenal. If he’s not phenomenal, it’s going to be a short night for him.”
Johnny ‘Cannoli’ Garbarino / Undefeated Middleweight Contender, (4-0)
“I’m very, very sharp right now. I practice my butt off every day to not get hit. I’m not doing all this hard work just to let it crumble on July 3.”
“Just because he’s a Marine doesn’t mean that he can’t get his (expletive) kicked.”
Cody Russell / Undefeated Middleweight Prospect (2-0)
“We train for every circumstance. I believe in my hands; if I touch you, you go down. In both of my fights I had multiple knockdowns in each fight.”
“It’s not about creating fake drama. It’s about fighting the best, beating the best, and believing that you are the best.”
“If you haven’t seen Cody Russell fight and you haven’t seen Jake Bostwick fight, tune in, get some popcorn ready and just enjoy the show. It’s going to be the Fight of the Year.”
Lex ‘The Grizzly Bear’ Ludlow / Undefeated Cruiserweight Veteran, (3-0)
“Esteban Rodriguez is a paper champ. Where’s Chris Camozzi? He put his tail between his legs and ran. What’s going on with Alessio Sakara? He’s missing. I’m the most hated guy.”
Anthony Pagan / BKFC Lightweight Prospect (1-0)
“I’m going to be competing in a one-round war. It’s going to be a way higher pace than what people are used to, even by BKFC standards. Much respect to my opponent; we’re going to go out there and try to take each other’s head off without worrying about getting tired.”
Matt ‘White Chocolate’ Turnbull / BKFC Debuting Lightweight
“You should buy tickets to watch me fight July 3 because I’m the baddest white boy alive. Come ask about me.”
‘King’ Zed Montanez / Lightweight Prospect, (1-1)
“I bring authenticity, you know what I mean? I don’t have to try to make a show; what you see is what you get. I come to fight. Win, lose or draw, I come to rumble. It’s in my blood.”
