SALITA PROMOTIONS SIGNS PUERTO RICAN STANDOUT CALEB TIRADO, CONTINUING ITS COMMITMENT TO THE RICH TRADITION OF PUERTO RICAN BOXING

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (June 3, 2026) — Salita Promotions announced today the signing of elite Puerto Rican amateur bantamweight standout Caleb J. Tirado.

Tirado (1-0), of Arecibo, will make his United States and Salita Promotions debut on the Sunday, June 14 card headlined the WBA Interim Flyweight World Championship between Jonathan “Bomba” González and Abraham Perez at GLC Live at 20 Monroe in Grand Rapids, streaming live on the global home of boxing, DAZN.

At just 24 years old, Tirado began boxing at age 9 and spent nearly two decades building one of the most decorated amateur careers in Puerto Rican boxing history. The former amateur champion aims to continue in the footsteps of his Puerto Rican boxing idols Wilfredo Gómez, Félix Trinidad, and Miguel Cotto.

With more than a dozen Puerto Rican fighters competing under the Salita Promotions banner, the growing promotional stable is committed to honor the tradition of Puerto Rico’s boxing royalty. With the acquisition of Tirado, Salita aims to further secure that pledge while guiding the career of one of Puerto Rico’s top prospects. 

“Caleb is one of the best, if not the best, young prospects coming out of Puerto Rico today. He had an outstanding amateur career and possesses all the tools to become a major star in boxing, following in the lineage of the island’s great champions. On the international stage, Tirado captured the Gold Medal at the 2023 Continental Championship in Cali, Colombia, earned a Bronze Medal at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, competed at the 2023 World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and reached the finals of the 2024 Olympic Pre-Qualifier in Busto Arsizio, Italy.

Back home, Tirado was a 12-time Puerto Rico National Champion. He was named Boxer of the Year by the Puerto Rico Athletes Commission (2022) and the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee (2023), and was inducted into the Bayamón Hall of Fame in 2023. Tirado now brings that wealth of experience and championship pedigree into the professional ranks.

Tirado will take on Osmar Rodriguez (6-6, 2 KOs) of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, in a six-round bantamweight bout. The durable Mexican has pushed fighters like Fabian Arredondo and Ethan Perez to their limits, and is a legitimate test for Tirado in just his second professional bout.

Tirado vs. Rodriguez falls on the same day as the National Puerto Rican Day Parade and is the third Mexico versus Puerto Rico matchup on the June 14th Salita Promotions card. The rivalry between the boxing hotbeds is one of the most storied in history and includes legendary wars between Wilfredo Gómez and Salvador Sánchez, Félix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya, and Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito.

The main event features Puerto Rican WBA Interim Flyweight World Champion Jonathan “La Bomba” González (29-4-1, 14 KOs) of Caguas, Puerto Rico, defending his title against unbeaten Mexican contender Abraham “Hammer” Perez (14-0 7KOs). In the co-feature, Puerto Rican undefeated title contender Joshua “JJ” Pagán (15-0 5KOs) puts his WBO NABO Lightweight title on the line against Mexican challenger Rodolfo Bustamante Salazar (22-1-1 12 KOs). 

The card will also feature Troy “Transformer” Isley (15-0, 5 KOs), Brandon Moore (19-1, 10 KOs), Sardius Simmons (7-0, 3 KOs), Shannel “The Sniper” Butler (7-0, 3 KOs), Lance “Boogie” Smith (6-0, 5 KOs), Jasmine Hampton (2-0, 2 KOs), and Jacquan McElroy (6-0, 2 KOs).
