In round one, Ornelas landed a right that was combined by the feet getting tangled that had Lara’s glove touch the canvas for a knockdown. Later in the round, Lara landed a big right that put Ornelas on the canvas. In round two, Lara opened up a huge flurry of punches. During the flurry of punches, Ornelas complained of a headbutt, but took more punishment and with Ornelas bleeding badly over his left eye and the fight was stopped at 47 seconds.

In round one, Ruelas dropped Mata with a straight right to the head. In round three, Mata landed a right that was followed by a left hook that put Ruelas on the canvas. Seconds later, it was a big left hook that put Ruelas on the deck for a second time. Mata finished the fight in the final seconds of the round by landing a left hook in between a right from Ruelas for a third and final knockdown at 2:56.
