VERONA, N.Y. — Manny Pacquiao Promotions (MPP) is set for tomorrow night after all fighters successfully made weight this afternoon. The event is headlined by a 10-round WBO Featherweight International Championship showdown between knockout artists Elijah Pierce (21-2, 17 KOs) and Lorenzo Parra (23-1-1, 17 KOs).
The action begins tomorrow, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. Fans unable to attend can catch the event live on Amazon Prime Video and DirecTV PPV.
“I’m ready to go out and compete,” said reigning WBO International Featherweight Champion Elijah Pierce. “This fight is just the next step to become who I was meant to be. I will be fighting for a world title after this and I’ll be a star. We were supposed to face each other a few months ago so now him and I are now more prepared. We’re going to put it all on the line.”
“I know Pierce is a good fighter,” said Lorenzo Parra. “He’s a professional. I was ready to go and on weight when we were first scheduled to fight. I use that as motivation because this opportunity has been a long time coming and I’m planning to take the WBO International Featherweight belt home with me.”
In the co-main event, hometown favorite Bryce Mills (20-1, 7 KOs) of Liverpool, N.Y., faces Tobias Green (21-3-1, 4 KOs) of Lake Park, Fla., in a 10-round US WBC Silver Super Lightweight Title bout.
Mayweather Promotions’ Curmel “Big Deal” Moton (8-0, 6 KOs) will take on Wilfredo Flores (12-6-1, 5 KOs), while the scheduled bout between Jimuel Pacquiao Jr. (0-0-1) and Luis E. Santana Figueroa (0-2) has been postponed.
In addition to streaming on Amazon Prime Video and DirecTV PPV, the first three fights of the evening will air live on the All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN). The broadcast is highlighted by the return of undefeated 23-year-old phenom Shera Mae Patricio (7-0, 3 KOs), who faces former world champion Maribel Ramirez (15-13-4, 3 KOs) in a six-round super flyweight (115 pounds) contest.
