Antonio Orozco survived a brief scare before scoring a 2nd round stoppage over Miguel Angel Huerta in a scheduled 10 round bout at the Fantasy Springs Resort in Indio, California.
In round one, Huerta rocked and hurt Orozco with several hard left hands that landed hard. In the openeing seconds of the 2nd round, the tables were turned as Orozco landed a huge right that sent Huerta to the canvas. Huerta never fully recovered as he continued to eat a big flurry of punches until the fight was stopped at 1:00 of round two.
Orozco, 141 1/2 lbs of San Diego, CA is now 19-0 with 15 knockouts. Huerta, 142 lbs of Mexico City is now 27-12-1.
Julian Ramirez pounded out an eight round unanimous decision over Derrick Wilson in a Featherweight bout.
Ramirez scored a knockdown in round one from a straight left. Ramirez continued to win the rounds but Wilson fought well in spots. Ramirez landed a combination that was set up by a straight left in round seven that sent Wilson down to the canvas. Ramirez went in for the stoppage but Wilson went down do to slips on two occasions.
Ramirez, 123 3/4 lbs of East Los Angeles, California won by scores of 79-71, 78-72 and 78-72 and is now 10-0. Wilson, 123 1/2 lbs of Fort Myers, FL is now 10-6-2.
Dominic Breazeale scored a stoppage at the end of round three of a scheduled 8 round Heavyweight bout over Homer Fonseca
Breazeale used his 10 inch height advantage to pound away at the portly Fonseca and his corner stopped the bout in between round three and four.
