April 5: Heavyweight Titans Richard Torrez Jr. & Guido Vianello to Collide at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas LIVE on ESPN+
LAS VEGAS (Feb. 14, 2025) — Rising heavyweights Richard Torrez Jr. and Guido “The Gladiator” Vianello will clash in a high-stakes 10-round main event on Saturday, April 5 at Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
Torrez, a U.S. Olympic silver medalist, takes a seismic step up in class against the battle-tested Italian Olympian.
Promoted by Top Rank, the entire Torrez-Vianello card will stream live and exclusively on ESPN+ in the U.S. Ticket and undercard information will be announced soon.
“This has all the makings of a heavyweight classic, two athletic big men with power and tremendous determination,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “Top Rank has promoted Richard and Guido from the start of their respective professional careers, and I look forward to seeing how the fight unfolds at the Palms Casino Resort.”
Torrez (12-0, 11 KOs), who hails from the farming community of Tulare, California, captured Olympic silver in the super heavyweight division in Tokyo. A southpaw volume puncher, he turned pro the following March with a second-round stoppage of Allen Melson. Torrez, a high school valedictorian who builds model rockets in his spare time, has since rocketed from prospect to contender. Last May, he dismantled fellow unbeaten Brandon Moore in five rounds. His knockout streak ended last September after Joey Dawejko was disqualified for repeatedly spitting out his mouthpiece. Torrez got back on the knockout train in December with a third-round blitzing of Mexico’s Issac Munoz.
“This is something I’ve been working toward for a long time,” Torrez said. “I want to prove that I’m the best heavyweight out there and show what American heavyweights are made of. When they offered me Guido, I didn’t hesitate. I’m ready to go.”
Born and raised in Rome, Vianello (13-2-1, 11 KOs) had four first-round knockouts in his seven fights before being held to a draw against Kingsley Ibeh. He reignited his career in 2024 with a first-round stoppage of Moses Johnson and a split decision defeat to top contender Efe Ajagba in a Fight of the Year-type scrap. Last August, he traveled to Quebec City, Canada, and beat down local favorite Arslanbek Makhmudov en route to an eighth-round TKO. He now hopes to upend another decorated home country hero.
Vianello said, “I am excited for this fight. After fighting Makhmudov, I showed I was ready for anyone. Richard is a talented young fighter, but he has never faced anyone like me. I will show myself to be Top Rank’s best heavyweight and move on to challenge for world titles.”

And by the eighth and ninth, they told me, let’s step it up with the combinations, and we started to land with more power to get the finish.”

BEN WHITTAKER VS LIAM CAMERON REMATCH SET FOR EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 20TH AT BP PULSE LIVE IN BIRMINGHAM
BIRMINGHAM, UK (February 13, 2025) – Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron are set to renew hostilities in one of boxing’s most hotly anticipated rematches on Easter Sunday, April 20th at bp pulse LIVE in Birmingham, presented by BOXXER, live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland.
Their epic bank holiday weekend showdown will headline a huge card in the Midlands that also features the return of Olympic bronze medallist Frazer Clarke versus Ebaneezer Tetteh, a mouth-watering super welterweight clash between Lee Cutler and Sam Eggington, and former European Champion Tyler Denny back in action against ‘The Soldier’ Elvis Ahorgah.
In one of the most talked about moments of 2024, Whittaker and Cameron’s first fight ended in dramatic fashion with both men toppling over the ropes and outside the ring during the fifth-round of their light heavyweight clash.
With Whittaker unable to continue, the fight went to the judges’ scorecards resulting in split draw with two of the judges scoring the bout 58-57 either way and one judge scoring the fight even.
Turning professional under the BOXXER banner after claiming a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Wolverhampton’s Whittaker has established himself as one of the standout talents in world boxing, amassing millions of followers worldwide with his unique style and flamboyant showboating.
Cameron, also a decorated amateur having won multiple national titles, impressed against former IBO champion Lyndon Arthur last year to help set up a Riyadh Season showdown with Whittaker. The Sheffield boxer, who has been outspoken since the first fight, will not want to leave anything to chance as he looks to catapult his career forward by handing Whittaker his first defeat.
Ben Whittaker said: “This is an opportunity for me to give the fans a decisive result. There’s no doubt in my mind that this time, there will be no room for controversy. This time, we will finish it on my terms. To all the fans who supported me and even those that have doubted me, this one’s for you. April 20th, I’m home and I’m going to give the people something special.”
Liam Cameron said: “I’m pleased to get this fight confirmed. I feel like I was winning the last fight before he tried pretending to be a WWE star and pulled me over the top rope. I really believe I would have stopped him, but that’s in the past now, we’re ready to go on April 20th. I want to thank my manager and my promoters Frank and George Warren for helping to get this rematch over the line. I look forward to getting in there and finishing the job.”
BOXXER Founder and CEO Ben Shalom said: “There’s been a lot said since the first fight in Riyadh, a lot of questions have been asked. On April 20th, Easter Sunday, we will get the answers. Ben Whittaker vs Liam Cameron is one of the most eagerly anticipated and most talked about fights in British boxing. It’s the fight the fans have been calling for and it’s the fight both fighters have demanded. There was never any doubt from Ben Whittaker, this was the fight he wanted next, and what a fight we have to headline a huge bank holiday weekend show in Birmingham.”

Stanionis Wraps Up Training Camp in Lithuania, Heads to United States for Unification Clash with Jaron Ennis
Kaunas, Lithuania (February 13, 2025) – WBA Welterweight Champion Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9 KOs) is entering the final days of his training camp in his hometown of Kaunas, Lithuania, before heading to the United States to complete preparations for his highly anticipated showdown against Jaron “Boots” Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs). The two elite welterweights will battle for the IBF, WBA, and Ring Magazine World Welterweight Titles on April 12 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., live on DAZN.
Before departing for the United States, Stanionis, who fights under the TGB Promotions banner, has been training alongside his stablemates and mentoring young teens at the local after school program for troubled teens, an experience that has fueled his motivation for this career-defining moment.
“Spending these last days training at home with my gym mates and mentoring the young kids at the local afterschool program means everything to me,” said Stanionis. “I remember growing up with friends that were struggling, so I feel it’s my duty to help these kids out as best I can. Now, I’m here, and I want to show them that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.”
As the first Lithuanian-born world champion in boxing history, Stanionis is proud to represent his country on one of the sport’s biggest stages and hopes to bring home another major victory for his homeland.
“Every time I step into the ring, I carry Lithuania with me,” Stanionis continued. “This fight isn’t just about me—it’s about my country, my people, and the next generation of Lithuanian fighters. I fight with pride, and on April 12, I plan to make history once again.”
A win over Ennis would establish Stanionis as one of the premier forces in the welterweight division and catapult him into global superstardom.
“This is the biggest fight of my career, and a victory over Ennis will put my name alongside the best in the world,” Stanionis stated. “He’s a great fighter, but I’m coming to prove that I belong at the very top. This is my moment, and I won’t let it slip away.”
With his time in Lithuania coming to an end, Stanionis is looking forward to beginning the final phase of his camp in Los Angeles, where he will fine-tune his skills at the legendary Wild Card Boxing gym with coach Marvin Somodio ahead of the biggest fight of his career.
“Training in Los Angeles at Wild Card, with coach Marvin, will be the perfect way to sharpen everything up before the fight. The work I put in there, the elite sparring, will make sure I’m 100% ready to go on April 12,” he concluded. “I’m excited, focused, and prepared to leave everything in the ring.”

VIDEO: Jack Catterall Vs Arnold Barboza & Undercard Final Press Conference
CATTERALL VS. BARBOZA JR + UNDERCARD FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES
Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman:
“A huge night of boxing at the wonderful Co-op Live here in Manchester on Saturday – live on DAZN around the world. For me one of the best fights in the world at 140 lbs. It’s the interim WBO Super-Lightweight World Title between England’s Jack Catterall and America’s Arnold Barboza. Jack Catterall, the man that should be undisputed. The man that has gone through Jorge Linares, Josh Taylor, Regis Prograis and now this man awaits – 31-0 Arnold Barboza that sat at the top of the pecking order for a long long time. One of Golden Boy’s top charges. Straight off a fantastic victory over Ramirez in Saudi Arabia. Ready now to put himself in a golden position for huge fights within the division.”
Jack Catterall:
“What a card we’ve got on Saturday night, three other lads from my gym fighting, some great live fights but on my fight, it’s a huge opportunity for me on Saturday.
“I think we’re both taking confidence from the preparations we’ve had, I don’t want easy fights, Arnold has been in the position that I’ve been in waiting for that opportunity and I don’t think that you can sit back now the way that boxing is on the sidelines, you’ve got to take your chance. I’ve got good momentum, I feel better with every camp, this camp has been great, we’ve bettered it from the last time, and I do believe I’m a better fighter and I get him out of there on Saturday.
“I’ve been very active and the confidence comes from the time spent in the gym and all the hard work has been done and it’s time to relax, recover and perform. I’ve got better and better through the momentum and activity and that’s where the confidence has come from.
“I’m in a great division at 140 lbs with a lot of tremendous fighters, but nothing matters until after Saturday night, I have to remain focused on Arnold. That being said, we understand the business, there’s so many great fights to be made. Teofimo Lopez has the WBO Title, hopefully that’s a fight that can be made down the line, but I’ve got to beat him and beat him well on Saturday.
“This is the final hurdle on Saturday, it’s a big fight, it’s high risk, high reward like he said, I’m ready and we’re bringing that belt back to Charley on Sunday morning.”
Jamie Moore:
“Jack’s on a fantastic run, he’s in the form of his life, and he needs to be as these types of fight and the challenges that he wants to put himself in front of, you need to be on top form. Activity was always an issue two or three years ago when he wasn’t getting the fight that he wanted. When you look back to 2018, I know Barboza’s team say they have been waiting a long time, but Jack was mandatory for the WBO Title then and for some reason or the other it kept dragging on, different fights were getting made in front of him. He eventually got his chance and the decision didn’t go our way, and it brings us to the point we’re at now, and it’s going to take some fighter to beat him, and that time is not yet.
“I’ve said for years that Jack is the best 140 lbs fighter in the world, he’s just needed the chance to prove it. He’s been doing that for the last couple of years, I’ve no doubt that Barboza is going to come with everything he’s got, he’s a solid fighter, but Jack has the kryptonite for everyone, he’s always a step ahead, and he’ll show that on Saturday.”Arnold Barboza Jr:
“We had another offer to fight the main event at home, but I just want to fight the best. I believe Jack is a really good fighter at the top of the division, and I think we’re the best, I don’t think the champions are better than us to be honest. We’re always ready for challenges, we’re ready to go.
“I believe I’m the best in the division, I don’t think anyone can fuck with me. I’m just confident in myself, at the end of the day we can do all he talking, I know he’s not a trash talker and I’m not a trash talker, Saturday is going to determine everything and that’s all the matters.
“I’ve watched a lot of fights where people have gone to enemy territory and they are getting booed – I hope it’s sold out and I hope I get booed, that’s just going to turn me on. I’m excited and it’s a dream, a big fight with high risk and high reward, no more of those low risk, low reward fights, I’m excited to get in there and dance with him.
“I really believe I stop him. The way camp has gone, we isolated ourselves with 8,000ft elevation, running in the snow, everything we did and the the way I’ve been feeling in sparring and my sparring partners can attest, I feel stronger and better than ever. He’s coming with everything, I’m coming with everything, so let’s go.
“This fight means everything to me. There’s fans in the UK, expect a great fight and an exciting fight, and I hope to bring some of those fans back with me to the US.”
Arnold Barboza Sr:
“We’re ready and we’ve been ready for this opportunity. We’re traveling but we don’t care where it’s at, we’ve been waiting for this for a long time, and it’s here and we’re here. Traveling is fun, it’s a little bit cold, but it’s fun. There’s no fear at all, we had the opportunity to fight at home in a main event on the same day for the same pay, but we’re looking to fight the best and i think Jack is one of the best, so that’s why we’re here and made that decision.
“It’s number one against number two and that’s what it’s supposed to be. The best against the best, give the fans what they deserve, and this fight is going to be worth every penny.
“It’s going to be an exciting fight. We wouldn’t make the trip over here if we weren’t confident, we’re going to stop Jack.”Alfie Sharman:
“We’re back in this incredible arena in Manchester and what a fight we have ahead of us on Saturday. From top to bottom it’s a stacked card, and Jack Catterall, a local favorite around here, has been on a remarkable run recently, but he has a tough fight on Saturday in the very talented and undefeated Arnold Barboza Jr, and the winner takes it all with a potential World Title fight later in the year. I wish everyone on the card and the two main guys the very best of luck on Saturday. We’re looking at two powerhouses of the promotional world here with Eddie and Matchroom and Golden Boy led by Oscar de la Hoya, earlier this week at DAZN we announced the first slate of fights with another powerhouse in the world of boxing with Frank Warren and Queensberry, and we look forward to welcoming Frank and his talented roster from April 1. We at DAZN are the global home of boxing and have a commitment to our subscribers and boxing fans all over the world to deliver the biggest and best fights in 2025 and beyond.”
Reece Bellotti:
“No one saw you all day, from your team? You should sack them. My boys woke me up that day. Why wouldn’t your team check on you in the morning? Why would they not, if they know you’re not feeling right? You just said you didn’t fall ill in the changing room. You just said you didn’t fall ill in the changing room. So you haven’t been right all week. So why make weight, why waste my time and everyone’s time when that was going to happen? Your team should know that. Your story has holes in it. That’s all I’m saying. Who got in the cab with you to the arena, were you on your own? Your team should be getting in there with you. Everyone does that. Everyone goes with their team to the arena. Everybody. So they would have known way before. I’m not denying the fact you was ill. But you knew you was ill way before it came out. Why did you let someone pull you out in the changing room. There isn’t a fighter on this table that would do that. The doctor wouldn’t have come into my changing room. There’s holes in your story but I’m not denying that you were ill. At least you had your excuse that night. What’s your excuse this time? That fire burns inside me and it always has done. My Christmas weren’t as good as it could have been, and I blame Michael Gomez for that.”
Michael Gomez Jr:
“Can I just correct you Eddie? I didn’t fall ill in the dressing room. Obviously on fight week I came in here the last time and I was all hooded up. I wasn’t feeling great, but as a fighter you keep your mouth shut and you get on with it. I met my team at the arena on fight night. I had a back and forth with my manager – he wasn’t happy with the way I was. He took it upon himself to get the doctor involved. The doctor came in, did an observation and took me to the room. On my behalf, I should have made it come to light earlier, but as a fighter, at the end of the day I wanted to fight. Why would I tell someone earlier? Either way the fight would have been pulled. If my manager goes and gets the doctor and brings the doctor in what do you want me to do? Do you think that you’re that good to make me pull out? Do you honestly believe you’re that good? You’re a f****ing idiot mate. Absolute idiot. Until my team took it upon themselves to pull me out, I was wanting to fight. You’d have gone in there that night and you’d have beat me up but I’d have taken it like a man and gone home. That’s how it goes. My team did the job that they’re supposed to do. I’m going to beat you. I don’t need any excuses. I’m going to win and I’m going to win horribly. On Saturday night everything gets put to bed.”
Pat McCormack:
“I’m buzzing for the fight. Obviously I’ve been boxing all my life, won medals all over the world, got all the experience I need. I’m just ready to step up and start winning belts in the pro ranks. I’ve got two belts and I’m looking to push on this year and get some more. With the things I’m working on in the gym, if my opponents aren’t coming to win then it doesn’t work. I think Robbie is a good fighter. He’s been around for years. I saw him fight against Lewis Ritson in Newcastle in a good fight. Every dog has its day, and my days are coming. This is a good fight. I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait. My full focus is on getting the job done on Saturday night.”
Robbie Davies Jr:
“I think normally if it was just any 6-bout opponent, I’d just say, ‘leave it’. But obviously with his extensive amateur career, everything that he’s achieved. Everyone knows he’s a good fighter. He’s already built himself a platform from the amateurs. I know with this sort of win moving up in weight, which I’ve been dying to for years, I’ve just needed the right opportunity. I think it’s just as big a scalp for me as it is for him. I said straight away, take their hand off, I’ll have that fight. The xxxxxx fight, you’ve got to remember, it was 15/16 months out of the ring. I took the fight on seven weeks’ notice. Even though I’m always in the gym, you’re not in camp are you. There was a lot of things that I would have done differently. But take nothing away from him, it was a great fight. I was over there in their backyard. And then going onto another former World Champion. That’s the sort of calibre I want to be in with. I’m right up for this fight. Everyone knows what you get when you watch me fight. I’m going to bring it. Hopefully it’s a great fight on Saturday night.”
Zelfa Barrett:
“Jazza is a good fighter. When you’re at this level, you fight whoever they put in front of you. I can’t really be picking, if I believe I’m one of the best in the weight division. I’ve just got to beat who you put in front of me. He’s a good fighter but I’ve got goals and aspirations. I need to be a World Champion. Every fight is important. Every fight is a must-win fight. It brings that extra something inside of me to be focused every round, to try and get the knockout. To keep doing what I’m doing.”
Jazza Dickens:
“I’m in really good form. Training has been going well and it’s good to be back on a Matchroom show. I’m feeling really strong. Every fight is a must-win isn’t it Ed and I will win. Being around this Manchester scene here is good because it’s normally Liverpool or Manchester or London. It comes back around doesn’t it. Manchester is flying at the minute. It’s good to be on one of these cards. It’s not too far from home. A lot of people will be coming up for it. Like you say, it is a must-win.”
William Crolla:
“Like you say, on paper it’s a tough fight. He’s boxed over ten rounds. I think he holds a win over a lad who’s just boxed for the English Title at my weight. The lads who have beat him are all international amateurs. They’re not me. I’m going to set about him on Saturday night and I think it will be a massive statement when I am the first to stop him. I’m fully focused on Saturday night but the activity is key and I said Manchester boxing is going to be in again. I’m privileged to be a part of it and there’s going to be some great fights back here.”
Aqib Fiaz:
“Thank you for having us on this amazing show. It’s practically the VIP Gym show. There’s four of us on. The gym is flying, Manchester boxing is flying. Our gym will be at the forefront in the coming years. I’m excited to be back and I’m excited for a big performance on Saturday. Thank you to all my supporters that are coming out. I’ll have my eyes on the Bellotti vs. Gomez Jr fight and hopefully we get the winner.”
Conner Tudsbury:
“I’m really excited to get out on Saturday night. I’ve been training for this for a long time. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity. I’m going to really show you all what I’m made out of on Saturday night. As I said the other day, I couldn’t have a better start to my professional boxing career. Boxing at the Co-op Live, it’s an amazing place. It’s a great atmosphere when the boxing is on. It’s great to be making my debut on the undercard of my stablemate Jack Catterall.I think I’m more suited to the professional game. Smaller gloves and the style and everything like that. I think it’ll be really good. I’ll show you all what a talented boxer I am.”
Alfie Middlemiss:
“I’m just excited. I’d like to say a big thanks to Matchroom for the opportunity to be on this card. It’s the stuff you dream about as a youngster when you’re first getting into boxing. To perform at the Co-op Live is such a massive opportunity for me and I’m bringing massive support from Manchester. I’m excited and I’m ready to go. The gym is thriving at the moment. I’m one of the youngest in the gym so I’m just learning and improving all of the time from all of the main fighters. Manchester boxing is the place to be at the moment. It’s a hotbed of young talented fighters. It’s a great place to be.”
JOSE “RAYO” VALENZUELA: “I DON’T BELIEVE GARY ANTUANNE RUSSELL BELONGS HERE WITH ME.”
RIVERSIDE, CA. – February 13, 2025 – WBA Super Lightweight World Champion Jose “Rayo” Valenzuela intends to make a statement in his first world title defense as he takes on one of the division’s top contenders in Gary Antuanne Russell on Saturday, March 1 in the explosive co-main event of a PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
“I don’t believe that Gary Antuanne Russell belongs here with me,” said Valenzuela. “He’s a strong, solid, durable fighter. He’s good, but I think he’s a little stiff when I look at him more. I worked my ass off to get here, and this is a bit of a handout for him. I took two tough losses and came back from hell to get the ‘Pitbull’ Cruz fight and conquer that. Russell has had everything given to him and I think it’s gonna show on March 1.”
The 25-year-old Valenzuela (14-2, 9 KOs) earned his world title in his last fight, dethroning fellow Mexican star Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz via decision last Summer. Facing one of the sport’s premier action fighters, Valenzuela believes he showed all the levels to his game by delivering a signature performance.
“My mentality going into the ‘Pitbull’ fight was that I was gonna show that I’m a more diverse fighter than I got credit for, not just a knockout puncher,” said Valenzuela. “I have a full arsenal. I showed my poise in the ring and I showed my ring generalship. There were a lot of little things that I did that had a major effect in the fight.”
Heading into that fight, Valenzuela had come off of back-to-back training camps with famed trainer Robert Garcia and will look to continue the steady improvement that he’s shown since teaming up with one of the sport’s best.
“Having Robert Garcia in my corner gives me a lot of confidence,” said Valenzuela. “He’s really fixed my fundamentals. Everything comes together nicely when we’re working together. This training camp is going great. I’ve been conquering every day with hard work. I’m taking it all in and learning each day. It’s just about learning the techniques and working hard.”
While Valenzuela was able to show off his versatility in out-boxing Cruz on his way to a decision, he believes that the style matchup with Russell will force him to go toe-to-toe on March 1, delivering fireworks for fans tuning in.
“Fans can expect an action-packed fight,” said Valenzuela. “Stylistically it’s a great matchup with him being a lefty and coming with the high guard marching forward. Gary is a lot taller than ‘Pitbull’. I knew I could dance around ‘Pitbull’, but with Gary I think I’m gonna have to fight through him.”
Valenzuela will be making the first defense of his title against Russell, a 2016 U.S. Olympian who comes from one of the sport’s preeminent boxing families, as he’s trained by his brother, former WBC Featherweight World Champion Gary Russell Jr. By voluntarily taking on such a stiff challenge in his first title defense, Valenzuela intends to prove his standing in the stacked 140-pound division.
“Taking on Gary Antuanne for my first title defense says a lot about me,” said Valenzuela. “People have to respect it. My name is on the radar because of the kind of opposition I’m going up against.
“I think I’m at the top of this division with guys like Teofimo Lopez and Alberto Puello,” said Valenzuela. “I believe strongly that I can beat all of these guys. It’s just a matter of taking it one fight at a time. Gary Antuanne Russell is in the way of where I’m trying to get to. I’ve got my full attention on him and I give him his respect. But there’s more that I want to do. My story is gonna continue after this.”

Salita Promotions and Puerto Rico’s Fresh Productions Spotlight Jr. Welterweight Contenders on March 1 Fight Card
DETROIT (February 13, 2025)– Salita Promotions and Fresh Productions have announced the addition of several surging contenders, including two pivotal jr. welterweight title bouts added to the event headlined by Puerto Rican knockout specialist Subriel Matías (21-2, 21 KOs) and Mexico’s hard-hitting Gabriel Valenzuela (30-3, 17 KOs) in an IBF Junior Welterweight World Title Eliminator.
Puerto Rico resident and WBO No. 3 ranked contender Alfredo Santiago (16-2, 7 KOs) and undefeated Nestor Bravo (23-0, 16 KOs), ranked No. 6 in the WBA, will both be in action in separate bouts on Saturday, March 1, live on DAZN. The winner of each 140-pound bout will position himself for a world title shot, none more significantly than in the main event, where the winner will earn the mandatory position to face reigning IBF Champ, Richardson Hitchins.
Also announced today, making his anticipated professional debut is Puerto Rico’s Yandiel Lozano and Salita Promotions promising heavyweight prospect Pryce Taylor (6-0, 4 KOs) from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Returning to Puerto Rico for the second time in five months, Salita Promotions has continued to explore the rich boxing talent residing on the island, much like the company has done the past two years in the state of Michigan. With a proven track record of discovering talent throughout the greater Detroit and Flint, Mich., region, Salita Promotions President Dmitriy Salita continues to give up-and-coming and rising talent a global platform to perform.
“We provided a path and platform for many fighters to earn recognition and achieve their dreams,” said Dmitriy Salita. “From solidified world champions like Claressa Shields to budding stars like Ardreal Holmes Jr., Salita Promotions continues to mine for the next super stars of boxing throughout Michigan and now we are doing the same in Puerto Rico. Stars from the Caribbean Island such as Miguel Cotto, Félix Trinidad, and Juan ‘John John’ Molina have all paved the way for the prospects we will be showcasing on March 1.”
The co-main event will see the WBO NABO Jr. Welterweight Title on the line as Santiago, who hails from the Dominican Republic, meets fellow countryman Javier Fortuna (39-5, 28 KOs). Santiago, 30, returns to the ring on the heels of a statement first-round TKO victory over Mexico’s Pedro Campa in November 2024. Currently on the strength of three straight victories, Santiago captured the WBO NABO Jr. Welterweight Title last June when he defeated Angel Fierro via unanimous decision, and on March 1, Santiago will attempt to defend his title for the third time. Starting his impressive career off with an undefeated record of 12-0, Santiago earned a shot against former Undisputed Lightweight World Champion Devin Haney for the WBC Lightweight World Championship in November 2019. While coming up short, Santiago has proven that he belongs in the upper echelon of the Jr. Welterweight Division.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the level I am at,” said Santiago. “I have worked hard, I’m in my best shape, and on March 1 in Fajardo, I’m going to give it my all in the ring. I respect Javier Fortuna, but he will find out that he’s facing a true warrior. I’m ready for any version of him that shows up in front of my people in Fajardo. I’m going to go to war and take the victory.”
Entering his second bout in just over two months, the 35-year-old Fortuna will compete in Puerto Rico for the first time. Like his opponent, Fortuna is coming off an impressive TKO victory defeating Jonatan Mariano in December 2024. Boasting a staggering 28 knockouts to his name, Fortuna held the WBC Continental Americas Lightweight Title in 2019 and challenged former IBF Super Featherweight World Champion Joseph Diaz in 2021 for the WBC Interim Lightweight World Title.
In addition, undefeated Nestor Bravoand South Africa’s Xolisani Ndongeni (32-6, 19 KOs) will collide for the vacant WBA Intercontinental Jr. Welterweight Title. Hailing from Arecibo, P.R., Bravo will return to action after nearly a year away from the ring. In his last outing, Bravo scored a second-round knockout victory over Carlos Manuel Portillo. Following a decorated amateur career with numerous national and international tournament wins, Bravo turned professional in 2015 when he defeated Nestor Ortiz via knockout. Previously holding the WBC Latino Lightweight Title and the WBO NABO Super Lightweight Title, Bravo pursues another belt when he faces his toughest test to date in Ndongeni.
Recently challenging for the vacant WBO Latino Lightweight Title, Ndongeni looks to insert himself back into the win column against Bravo. A tenured competitor, Ndongeni has held the WBF International Featherweight Title, IBO International Lightweight Title, and WBF Lightweight Title. With ample experience against undefeated prospects, Ndongeni aims to give the rising Bravo his first defeat.
Kicking off the night live on DAZN and in a quick turnaround, Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Pryce Taylor returns to action against Arizona’s Trevor Kotara (4-3-1, 1 KO) following his second-round knockout victory over Jerell Nettles on February 2. A promising heavyweight prospect, Taylor signed with Salita Promotions in November 2024, and has since gone 2-0 under the banner, both victories coming by way of knockout. Standing at 6-foot-4, Taylor is a former collegiate basketball player and has won two New York Golden Gloves title.
Lastly, Puerto Rico’s own Yandiel Lozano will make his much-anticipated professional debut. The silver medalist at the World Youth Championships, a four-time champion of the Bert Sugar Tournament, Florida Junior Silver Gloves champion, and two-time Puerto Rican National Champion, Lozano steps into the star-studded featherweight division after a solid amateur career.
“Fajardo is filled with pride as it welcomes home two of its greatest warriors of the ring,” said José Aníbal Meléndez, Mayor Autonomous Municipality of Fajardo. “Subriel Matías, born and raised in our town, returns to the ring to once again prove why he is one of the most outstanding figures in world boxing. Alongside him, another great champion from Fajardo, Alfredo ‘Ojo’ Santiago, will be defending his title, proudly representing our city. For Fajardo, this event is not just a sporting spectacle but a celebration of the determination, discipline, and talent that define our athletes.”

Francis Hogan hopes to lead the Next Generation of Middleweights
MASHANTUCKET, CT – Francis “Frank the Tank” Hogan (18-0, 16 KOs) returns to Foxwoods Resort Casino on Saturday, February 22 to defend his WBC US Silver Middleweight title against Massachusetts rival Khiary “King TooSharp” Gray (19-7, 14 KOs).
The bout headlines ‘Winter Brawl 2025,’ a stacked 14-bout card taking place at The Premier Theater in Foxwoods. Tickets start at $82 and are going fast. Purchase yours now at CES Fights or TicketMaster. Doors open at 5pm, with the first bout scheduled for 6pm. “Training is going good,” said the Boston-born, Weymouth-raised boxer from his training camp at Everybody Fights gym in the Seaport District of Boston. “I’m training 2-3 times a day, eating right, sleeping enough. That night, he’s going to be the old trailer park and I’m going to be the tornado. I’m going to rip him up.” Hogan has come a long way since his first few amateur bouts. The 24-year-old took up boxing when he was 10 years old with his brother and a childhood friend. “My dad kept bringing us to amateur shows and we started realizing that everybody was really good,” said Hogan of his first impression. “So, my brother and I decided to either quit every other sport and start boxing full time or stop boxing and play all the other sports. I wasn’t really into all the other sports because they were team sports, so we chose boxing. With boxing, what I get out of it is what I put in, so I started grinding.” Hogan would soon also realize that he had a lot of catching up to do, which was also a test of his resiliency and character. “I had like 40 straight losses as a young kid in the amateurs,” laughs Hogan of the rough start. “But I kept at it. The next thing you know, I started dropping and knocking people out. Everybody started talking about me. Then I started going to the Nationals and started winning the tournaments. I couldn’t believe it.” Considering what changed to make him turn his amateur career around, Hogan cites his family’s willingness to travel to expose him to other styles and levels. “I was so used to sparring guys that were less or close to my caliber and we didn’t really ever want that,” explains Hogan. “We always wanted to fight the better, tougher, heavier, stronger guys. We started going to Big Six in Rhode Island, and to this day, they have some of the top amateurs and pros in New England, all at one gym. It was a crappy drive coming all the way down from Weymouth, but it was worth it. I think that’s what changed us and brought us to the next level of boxing.” Hogan’s friend boxed for a few more years before hanging up the gloves, and his brother boxed until enrolling in the Marines 4 years ago. For Hogan, it became a vocation. The fighter eventually linked up with his childhood idol, former 2-time NABA Super Welterweight champion Mark “The Bazooka” DeLuca, who eventually became his trainer. “I used to look up to him a bunch when I was a young kid,” says Hogan, who attended many of DeLuca’s pro bouts when he was an amateur. “When I turned pro, I was always in his training camps, so he became like an older brother to me. He’s like a mad scientist when it comes to boxing. He knows all the fighters, who’s won what and who’s a good fight and who would be a crappy fight, so I leave it up to him [to choose my opponents].” Together with CES, DeLuca has done a great job developing Hogan to date. The Boston native fought 3 times last year, steadily increasing his level of opposition while winning the WBC title along the way. In his last fight, Hogan faced his most high-profile opponent to date in former title challenger Elvin Ayala. ‘Frank the Tank’ dominated the first round before knocking out Ayala with a body shot in round 2. Despite the impressive win, Hogan was not completely satisfied as he wanted to showcase more of what he had been working on in the gym. “I do wish I had more time,” laments Hogan. “There are people that say that he took a step back and tore his ACL, but I think that when I hit him with the left to the body, his knee just couldn’t take the pressure of the shot and that’s why it blew out on him. It’s too bad, because the fight before that was one of the best I’ve looked boxing wise.” In that fight, Hogan patiently stalked veteran Heber Rondon behind his jab before launching a hellacious left hook to the body that knocked the Venezuelan out round one. That bout took place at the Great Cedar Showroom at Foxwoods. This time, Hogan gets to headline at Foxwoods’ much bigger Premier Theater against a more experienced opponent in Gray. “Everybody’s saying that he’s coming in shape and he’s ready, but that’s what I want,” says Hogan of ‘King TooSharp’, who has shared the ring with the likes of IBF jr. middleweight champion Bakhram Murtazaliev, top contender Charles Conwell and Gary O’Sullivan. “I don’t want any excuses. I’m coming to win. I’m coming to take over, so that’s the goal.” When assessing how the fight will play out, Hogan predicts a breakthrough performance: “I feel this is the fight where I’m going to make a statement. This is the one where I’m gonna show everybody that the power is real. I can punch hard, I’m fast, and I have boxing skills in my tool bag, so I think that’s going to show on fight night. I’m coming for war like Marvin Hagler used to say.” An emphatic win on February 22 will lead Francis one big step closer to the high-profile fights that he covets. “I’m 18-0 and 24 years old,” says Hogan when asked to assess the middleweight division. “I think I am the next generation of boxing and I think there’s going to be a lot of guys that are going to either have to fight guys like me who are hungry, or they will have to retire or vacate their belts.” For more information on Winter Brawl 2025 and all other CES Boxing events, visit cesfights.com. Former World Champion Richard Commey is back! Feb. 23rd at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre
BROOKLYN (February 13, 2025) – Former International Boxing Federation(IBF) Lightweight World Champion Richard “RC” Commey (30-5-1, 27 KOs) returns to the ring after a two-year absence on Sunday, February 23rd, fighting on “The Return” card, presented by World Kid Promotions, to be streamed on www.bxngtv.com live from Kings Theater in Brooklyn.
Commey joins another former world champion, Brooklyn junior middleweight Sadam “World Kid” Ali (27-3, 14 KOs), who returns to the ring after a 5 ½ years absence from the ring in the eight-round main event against Vicoriano Antonio Santillan (13-7-2, 8 KOs), the former International Boxing Organization (IBO) Welterweight Champion.
Their friendship is critical in terms of Commey’s return and they’re doing it together.
“I have a great relationship with Sadam,” Commey explained. “I was training in his gym when I wasn’t world champ and I’m still training there. I stayed in camp with him when he became world champion. We are very good friends – like family – especially when we talk about boxing.”
A former World Boxing Organization (WBO) and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Ali’s company, World Kid, is promoting this event, its first since 2012, which was also held in Brooklyn. Ali captured the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Middleweight World title in 2017, upsetting Miquel Cotto (41-5) at the famed Madison Square Garden.
Ghana-native Commey, who fights out of The Bronx, faces an opponent to be finalized in an eight-round welterweight bout. The 37-year-old Commey captured the vacant IBF crown on February 2, 2019, when he stopped Isa Chaniev (13-1) in the second round. Three-and-one-half months later, Commey successfully defended his title with an eighth-round stoppage of Raymundo Beltran (36-8-1).
Commey was idle for the last two years because of life and managerial issues that are now resolved. He’s returning to the ring, not for a one-and-done fight, but for a final career run.
“I had to clear my mind,” Commey talked about his situation that kept him out of the ring. “This is the first of many fights to follow, but I still have to look at my performance that will tell me about upcoming fights.”
The co-featured event will spotlight a YouTube sensation, East Meadow (NY) junior welterweight Adam Saleh (1-0-1, 0 KOs), who is supported by his nearly 5-million subscribers, in a four-round match against TBA.
Undefeated Brooklyn bantamweight prospect Khalid Twaiti (14-0, 5 KOs), runner-up in the 2015 USA National Championships, is coming off his first 10-round fight last October, in which he won by way of a dominant unanimous decision (99-91, 99-91, 98-91) over Emmanuel Rodriguez (15-1) in Newark, New Jersey.
Other fighters on the undercard include Brooklyn junior lightweight “Speedy” Chiara Dituri (9-2, 3 KOs) in a six-round match, as well as pro-debuting New York City junior middleweight Jahanze Riswan, and pro-debuting light heavyweight Mike Boyle, who is a Yonkers (NY) firefighter, in a pair of four-rounders.
Card subject to change.

Barrett and Dickens Set to Clash for the WBA International Title This Saturday
British standout Zelfa Barrett is set to square off against fellow countryman James Dickens on February 15 for the vacant WBA International Super Featherweight title.
Barrett originally captured the belt in April 2024 with a 10th-round TKO victory over then-champion Jordan Gill. However, the title was later vacated, and now Barrett is back in the hunt to reclaim it.
For Barrett, a win over Dickens would be a major stepping stone toward a world title shot. Currently ranked No. 7 in the WBA super featherweight standings, he knows this fight could push him closer to the division’s elite.
Meanwhile, Dickens sees this as a golden opportunity to extend his winning streak. Riding back-to-back knockout victories, he has won four of his last five fights and is eager to make a statement in this high-stakes showdown.

Press Conference Notes: Keyshawn Davis Set for Career-Defining World Title Shot Against Denys Berinchyk
NEW YORK CITY (Feb. 12, 2025) — Keyshawn Davis is on the verge of the biggest moment of his career.
Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) will challenge Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) for the WBO lightweight world title this Friday, Feb. 14, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. The 25-year-old gets his first shot at world title glory against a fellow Olympic silver medalist determined to hold onto his crown.
The fight took on a deeply personal turn during Thursday’s press conference after Davis accused Berinchyk of delivering a box of bananas and a watermelon to his room, an act he deemed racist, while Berinchyk dismissed the claim as a manufactured controversy.
In the 10-round junior middleweight co-feature, Puerto Rican contender Xander Zayas (20-0, 12 KOs) looks to defend his WBO No. 1 ranking against fellow unbeaten Slawa Spomer (20-0, 11 KOs).
New Jersey-born middleweight Vito Mielnicki Jr. (20-1, 12 KOs) kicks off the broadcast in a 10-round showdown against world-ranked Irishman Connor Coyle (21-0, 9 KOs).
Berinchyk-Davis, Zayas-Spomer, and Mielnicki-Coyle will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
The ESPN+-streamed undercard begins at 5:15 p.m. ET/2:15 p.m. PT and features the pro debut of second-generation Puerto Rican star Juanmita Lopez De Jesus, son of former two-weight world champion Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez, in a four-round junior bantamweight tilt against Bryan Santiago (1-1-1, 1 KO).
Undefeated lightweight southpaw Abdullah Mason (16-0, 14 KOs) takes on Manuel Jaimes (16-2-1, 11 KOs) in an eight-rounder, while Dominican Olympian Rohan Polanco (14-0, 9 KOs) looks to edge closer to a title shot in a 10-round welterweight clash against Jean Carlos Torres (22-1, 17 KOs).
Promoted by Top Rank, in association with K2 Promotions and Queensberry Promotions, tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
This is what the fighters said at Wednesday’s press conference:
Denys Berinchyk
“I don’t speak English, and I don’t write English. I saw his message on social media. It’s weird even to mention this. Some people with bad intentions looking for some hype made that.”
“The first thing you need to do is make weight. And afterward, on Friday, we’re going to sort it out.”
“Since winning my title, I’ve been training the entire time. And I was preparing for this defense. Nothing changed too much in my life. We have a war in Ukraine. So, unfortunately, my life didn’t change much.”
“I never imagined myself fighting here. But I’ve been working hard for 25 years to make my dream come true and accomplish this assignment.”
“I have 355 amateur fights. I have more than 500 victorious street fights. I have one bare-knuckle fight that was also victorious.”
Keyshawn Davis
“I want to address the fact that this guy came to America to give me bananas and a watermelon with a note on it. It’s unprofessional, and I feel like it’s racist. And you just made this fight a little more personal. This man brought a box of bananas and a watermelon to America to bring to my room. I took it as racist. So, I got something for you.”
“Ya’ll did it. It’s OK that ya’ll did it. I’m going to whoop your ass for it. Just know what’s coming Friday night.”
“It’s a real blessing. When he called my name out after he won his last fight, I had a feeling in my spirit that I was going to fight him for the world championship. I never thought it would be at Madison Square Garden.”
“You’re not tougher than me. You can talk about all that bare-knuckle stuff. I come from what I come from. I’ve been doing this bare-knuckle s**t outside the ring. So, all that s**t you’re talking about, I don’t care. I’m going to f**k you up this Friday.
I don’t care about none of your experience or amateur experience. I don’t care about your silver medal. I don’t even care about your watch, your belt, or any of that. I’m going to f**k you up on Friday.”
Xander Zayas
“I feel amazing. Fight No. 7 here at the ‘Mecca of Boxing.’ New York is like a second home now. I’m excited to put on a show for the fans once again and to put the 154-pound weight class on notice. I’m coming for the world title next.”
“This means the world to me. He’s ranked at No. 11 in the WBO for a reason. He’s 20-0 for a reason. He has good victories behind him. But I’m looking forward to becoming 21-0 on Friday night and to the great opportunities coming next in 2025.”
“I’ve been here since Saturday. We had 10 weeks of training camp. I’m one step away from the main goal. I have to beat him to get there, so I’m going to prove that I belong at the elite level.”
Slawa Spomer
“I want to show that I belong at the top. Xander is also a top boxer, and I want to climb to the top. In order to get there, you have to fight the best fighters in the world. That’s why I’m here.”
“Camp with Roy Jones Jr. was amazing. So, two dreams have come true. One was to fight at Madison Square Garden, and the other was to prepare with Roy Jones Jr. The preparation and camp were very good. I’ve been in the game long, so I didn’t need to learn the basics. But now, I see different things because of what Roy has taught me. So, I’m proud of that opportunity.”
Vito Mielnicki Jr.
“This is exciting. I’m fighting on the main card on ESPN, which is another great opportunity. I feel blessed to be in this position.”
“The goal is to keep climbing and fighting better opposition. This is definitely my toughest to date on paper. And I’m just excited to show what I’ve been working on and how I’ve grown as a fighter. I’m going to put on a dominating performance on Friday.”
“This is everything I’ve dreamt of as a kid. This is everything I’ve ever wanted. So we’re going to take advantage of this opportunity.”
Connor Coyle
“I’ve been looking for big fights. But I never got them. It’s not like I was ducking or dodging people. I’ve just had to fight whoever was put in front of me.”
“I believe this is my opportunity now, and I’m happy this is at MSG.”
“You’ll see the best version of me. I spent 12 weeks in total away from my kids and family. It was the best camp I’ve had, mentally and physically. I’ve had the best sparring. And this is my opportunity, so I have to grab it with both hands.”
Rohan Polanco
“I’ve moved up in weight, so this camp was more intense, and I did more weight training. The sparring was intense, too. But for this fight, I feel very good. I have a lot of experience. I know that my opponent has a lot of experience as well. I think that with my boxing skills, I will walk away victorious.”
“My trainer, Hector Bermudez, is very intelligent. He is always teaching me how to adapt to professional boxing because I had such a long career as an amateur. We have meshed well, and I believe it was a great decision for my career to have chosen him.”
“The plan is to keep winning so I can keep positioning myself until I get a world title opportunity. That is what we are looking for.”
Abdullah Mason
“From my last fight, I learned to fight smart and make sure I listen to my corner. Every time I’m tuned into them, the easier the fight is. I did get up and do exceptionally well, but I need to fight smart.”
“I see myself up there with the guys who hold the titles. Skill-wise, I feel like I’m able to hold my own in one of those fights and come out on top. But we’re proving ourselves, and we’ll keep taking those steps forward. Hopefully, we grab a smaller title later this year.”
Juanmita Lopez de Jesus
“I want to make my people in Puerto Rico proud, so I’m going to show what I’m made of and what I bring to the table. This is definitely a different experience. I’ve never had this kind of attention before, so I’m very excited.”

Duarte vs. Madueño Set for WBA Continental Americas Super Lightweight Title Clash
Fireworks are expected in Anaheim as Oscar Duarte and Miguel Madueño square off this Saturday, February 15, with the WBA Continental Americas Super Lightweight Title on the line. The all-Mexican showdown will headline a stacked Golden Boy Promotions card at the Honda Center, featuring rising talents, including standout Darius Fulghum.
Duarte Looks for Redemption
This marks Duarte’s second shot at WBA gold. In 2023, he stepped up against Ryan García for the WBA Gold Lightweight Title but fell short, suffering a knockout loss in Houston. Now, the Chihuahua-born puncher (28-2-1, 22 KOs) is determined to bounce back and claim his first WBA belt. Duarte currently holds the No. 9 spot in the WBA’s super lightweight rankings and knows a statement win could propel him into the title conversation.
Madueño Aims to Reignite His Momentum
On the other side, Miguel “El Explosivo” Madueño enters with the chance to capture his second WBA title. Last year, he edged out Justin Pauldo via split decision to claim the WBA Continental North America Lightweight Title. However, his momentum was halted in July when he suffered a unanimous decision loss to the highly regarded Keyshawn Davis. Now, after an eight-month layoff, the Sinaloa native (30-2, 28 KOs) sees this fight as the perfect opportunity to get back on track.
A Knockout in the Making?
Both fighters bring serious power to the ring. Duarte has finished nearly 80% of his wins by knockout, while Madueño boasts an incredible 93% KO ratio, with 28 stoppages in 30 victories. However, Madueño has hit a rough patch, dropping three of his last seven fights.
With two Mexican warriors known for their heavy hands, this main event is shaping up to be an all-out war—and don’t be surprised if it ends before the final bell.
Miguel Madueño Training Camp Notes
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 12, 2025) – Camponovo Sports’ super lightweight contender, Miguel “El Explosivo” Madueño (31-1-0, 28 KOs), is set to take on Golden Boy Promotions’ Oscar Duarte (28-2-1, 22 KOs) in a high-stakes showdown on just 10 days’ notice. The 12-round main event will be broadcast live on DAZN from the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, this Saturday February 15, 2025.
Having just arrived in California, Madueño shares his thoughts on his training camp, the challenge of facing Duarte, stepping in on short notice, and more.
Arriving in California
“I just arrived in California this past weekend, and from the moment I touched down, it’s been all about getting locked in. The adjustment has been quick, but as I mentioned before, I stay ready at all times. My team and I have been putting in the work, sharpening up the game plan, and making the most of every session. I feel strong and confident heading into fight night.”
Matchup with Oscar Duarte
“Duarte is a tough, aggressive fighter who comes forward with power, but I’m prepared for that style. I also like to come forward, making this a fight the fans will want to see. I respect what he brings to the table, but I know my own strengths and what I’m capable of. This is going to be a battle of two Mexican warriors, and I’m ready to give the fans an exciting fight.”
Taking the Fight on 10 Days’ Notice
“This is the kind of opportunity I train for. Some fighters hesitate when they get a call like this, but I don’t. I stay in shape, I stay ready, and I believe in myself. Short notice or not, I’m stepping in with full confidence that I can get the job done.”
What a Win Means for My Career
“A victory over Oscar Duarte will be huge for my career. It gets me back in the conversation in the super lightweight division and gives me a shot at even bigger fights. This is my chance to prove myself, and I’m ready to make a statement on fight night.”
Top Rank Presents World Lightweight Championship: Denys Berinchyk vs. Keyshawn Davis
Top Rank Boxing on ESPN: Berinchyk vs. Keyshawn will be presented live this Friday, February 14, at 9:00p.m. ET/ 6:00p.m. PT on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+. The event takes place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.
WBO lightweight world champion Denys Berinchyk will make the first defense of his title against the undefeated fighting pride of Norfolk, Virginia, Keyshawn Davis.
Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) built an impressive career as an amateur member of Ukraine’s national team alongside boxing greats Vasiliy Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk. After winning the European title in 2022, he secured the WBO lightweight world championship with a hard-fought victory over Emanuel Navarrete last May. Now, he prepares for his first title defense, stepping in as the underdog against Davis.
Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) rose to the WBO No. 1 ranking in less than four years, showcasing the skills that made him the most accomplished American amateur of his generation. In 2023, he dominated former European champion Francesco Patera and stopped former two-division world champion Jose Pedraza. He capped the year with a statement win, knocking out Gustavo Lemos in two rounds before a sold-out hometown crowd.
In the 10-round junior middleweight co-feature, Puerto Rican standout Xander Zayas steps up against fellow unbeaten Slawa Spomer.
Zayas (20-0, 12 KOs), the WBO No. 1 contender, spent 2024 fighting at The Theater. He headlined Puerto Rican Day Parade Weekend in June, coasting past former world champion Patrick Teixeira over 10 rounds. Three months later, as the co-feature to the Sandy Ryan-Mikaela Mayer main event, he shut out Mexico’s Damian Sosa. The San Juan native made his pro debut as a 17-year-old in 2019 and currently holds a pair of regional titles.
Spomer (20-0, 11 KOs) has beaten three undefeated prospects in his career. In October 2023, the German defeated the highly touted French standout Milan Prat in 10 rounds. Spomer returned 13 months later and picked up a first-round TKO over Adam Ngange in Dubai.
In the 10-round televised opener, New Jersey-born middleweight Vito “White Magic” Mielnicki Jr. (20-1, 12 KOs) looks to upend undefeated, world-ranked contender Connor “The Kid” Coyle (21-0, 9 KOs).
The action-packed undercard bouts begin at 5:00 p.m. ET/ 2:00 p.m. PT on ESPN+.
ESPN’s Joe Tessitore, Timothy Bradley, Jr., Mark Kriegel, and Bernardo Osuna will call the action.

RHYS EDWARDS SIGNS LONG-TERM PROMOTIONAL DEAL WITH BOXXER
CARDIFF, UK (February 12, 2025) – Rising Welsh star Rhys Edwards has inked a long-term promotional deal with next generation promoter BOXXER.
Edwards (16-1, 4 KOs) has impressed on BOXXER cards in recent years. The 24-year-old from Penygraig scored a points victory over former British Champion Brad Foster in November 2023 before capturing the WBA Intercontinental belt with a unanimous points win over former WBA #1 Thomas Patrick Ward in front of his home fans in Cardiff in May 2024.
Stepping in at short notice, Edwards closed out 2024 by going toe-to-toe with Peter McGrail on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury II at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia in a fight that many felt the Welshman had done enough to win.
Having signed with BOXXER, Edwards joins a world-class stable of fighters including country women Lauren Price MBE, Chris Eubank Jr, Joshua Buatsi, Natasha Jonas, Ben Whittaker, Caroline Dubois, Chris Billam-Smith, Adam Azim, Frazer Clarke, Martin Bakole, Viddal Riley, Callum Simpson and Karriss Artingstall.
“It feels amazing to sign a long-term deal with a big promotion like BOXXER,” said Edwards. “They gave me my first chance on the big stage and have delivered me some very good fights so it’s nice to sign with them as they have been good to me.
“Getting the opportunity to fight Peter McGrail in Saudi Arabia was a surreal experience. It was a great fight, so big props to Peter as it takes two to tango. I thought I nicked it but I can’t argue either way. I learnt a lot about myself and showed my level.
“The fight against Ward in Cardiff was electric. The Welsh crowd really got behind me and I’m very grateful for that. I would love to headline a show back home by the end of 2025 or the start of 2026.
“I just want good performances and wins against good fighters and titles, and hopefully the British Featherweight Title before the end of the year.”
BOXXER Founder & CEO Ben Shalom said: “We’re delighted to have secured Rhys’ signature. He has a very bright future ahead of him. I thought he won the McGrail fight. He landed the cleaner shots and on just three days’ notice, he showed his class. I know Rhys has big ambitions. Together with Lauren Price, I believe he can lead a resurgence in Welsh boxing and bring more big nights back to Cardiff.”
Finally! Pitters vs Dos Santos cleared for April 4th in London
London, England – February 12th, 2025 – The drama between EBU light-heavyweight champion Daniel ‘Blenda’ Dos Santos and British challenger Shakan Pitters takes another twist today as their highly-anticipated clash has now been officially rescheduled for York Hall, London on Friday, April 4th, live on DAZN.
Initially due to defend his belt against Pitters last week, Dos Santos was removed from the bout at the 11th hour as France’s boxing federation declared him to have failed a pre-fight medical test.
Dos Santos has now successfully overturned that finding following a battery of enhanced tests and scans which have proved conclusively that he is clear to compete and that the initial finding was an error.
The EBU has confirmed that Dos Santos remains the reigning, defending European Light-Heavyweight Champion. On Friday, April 4th, he will finally make his highly-anticipated defence against the surging British challenger Pitters.
April’s card will also feature undefeated super-lightweights Ben Crocker and Tienan Bradley, with Crocker defending his IBF European Super-Lightweight Championship, and Emma Dolan defending her British and Commonwealth Super-Flyweight Championship against Lauren Parker.
GBM CEO Izzy Asif said, “It’s been an unbelievably dramatic start to the year but the delay has only heightened anticipation and we are delighted now to take this European Light-Heavyweight Championship clash to the capital. Daniel Dos Santos and Shakan Pitters are raring to go and we’ve got a stacked undercard coming together for what will be another big night of British boxing on DAZN.”
Pitters underwent three different changes of opponent following Dos Santos’ removal from the originally-scheduled February 7th bout.
On fight night he stopped Manchester-based Iranian veteran Bahadur Karami in two rounds, dedicating the fight to his late father, who passed away in December.
Erdenebat Defends Home Turf Against Bernal in WBA Central Asia Title Clash
This Saturday in Mongolia, hometown favorite Tsendbaatar Erdenebat will square off against Mexico’s Pedro Bernal Rodríguez for the WBA Central Asia Lightweight Championship in a high-stakes international clash.
Erdenebat, known as “Chinggis Khaan,” has built a reputation as a devastating puncher, boasting an undefeated record of 11-0 with 10 knockouts. After making waves in the United States with impressive victories against quality opposition, he now returns to Asia for the first time since 2023. Remarkably, this will be his first-ever fight in Mongolia, having previously only competed on the continent in China.
Standing in his way is Pedro Bernal Rodríguez, a battle-tested Mexican fighter with a 14-1-2 record. Bernal has split his career between Mexico and Canada, steadily climbing the ranks with an impressive unbeaten streak that dates back to 2019. His momentum and resilience could prove key as he looks to pull off an upset on foreign soil.
This fight promises fireworks, as Erdenebat’s raw power will be tested against Bernal’s aggressive Mexican style and relentless determination. With two vastly different approaches to the sport, fans can expect an intense battle where neither fighter will back down.
MATCHROOM ANNOUNCE FIRST EVER CANADIAN SHOW – IN ASSOCIATION WITH GROUPE YVON MICHEL – AS ROCKY HERNANDEZ AND RENE GIRON CLASH ON FEB 28 IN GATINEAU
Eddie Hearn and Matchroom are proud to announce their first ever event in Canada as Rocky Hernandez and Rene Tellez Giron clash at Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec on Friday February 28, live worldwide on DAZN and in association with Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) – with the perspective to sign unbeaten Canadian Heavyweight Alexis Barriere to a long term co-promotional deal with GYM, and Barierre faces Mexico’s Ubaldo Ilagor on the card.
Tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.ca. You can also communicate directly with GYM at [email protected].
Barriere (11-0 9 KOs) returns to action for the first time since landing his ninth KO win in his 11th pro-outing in October 2023, and a fourth inside the opening round. The 29-year-old southpaw and former Team Canada man was one of Tyson Fury’s sparring partners for his two fights with Oleksandr Usyk in May and December, and now the Sugar Hill Steward-trained Quebec puncher will be looking to get back in the groove and make an impact on the World rankings against Ilagor (13-1 12 KOs) over ten rounds, and Barriere’s fellow unbeaten Canadian Derek Pomerleau also in action over eight rounds at Middleweight against an opponent to be named soon.
“For me, it’s a new start on February 28, when my international career really begins,” said Barriere. “I may not have been active in fights the last year, but it was a rich experience and learning thanks to Tyson Fury and my trainer Sugar Hill. I know my opponent is dangerous, but nothing is going to stop me! I can’t wait to give you a great show!”
“I have got the opportunity I had been waiting for,” said Ilagor. “I feel ready for this new challenge. I have been training for a month and a half in Las Vegas in the best preparation of my life.
“I want to show that Mexico has the quality in the Heavyweight division, and on February 28 I will prove it against Alexis Barriere. I want to thank my company Bxstrs Promotions and Matchroom for the opportunity.”
KO artist Hernandez (36-2 32 KOs) is back after an accidental head clash in his showdown with Thomas Mattice caused a cut to his left eye in Hermosillo back in September, ending a contest that was bubbling nicely with a technical decision win.
That was a second win for ‘Rocky’ in his rebuild after his thrilling World title fight with O’Shaquie Foster in October 2023, and the WBA Continental Americas and IBF USBA Super-Featherweight titles when he takes on Giron (20-4 13 KOs), the fiery Mexican who gave future World Title challenger Floyd Schofield a real scare when he floored him in the 11th round of their clash in Las Vegas in November in a spirited performance.
“Different country, same date, same opponent, same outcome – Rocky by KO,” said Hernandez.
“I cant afford to lose this fight,” said Giron. “I’m looking to win by knockout.”
“I’ve been involved in professional boxing for over thirty years, and I’ve never been more excited than I am heading into this year,” said Michel. “Canada is currently experiencing a tremendous upsurge in talented young boxers and this event on February 28, with the invaluable collaboration of Eddie Hearn, marks a major turning point for our organization and our athletes whose leader, Alexis Barriere, will pave the way from Lac Leamy.”
“I am thrilled to announce Matchroom’s first event in Canada and the prospective of signing Alexis Barriere with our partner Yvon Michel,” said Hearn. “This will be the 19th country that we have promoted events in, and it’s one that we’re very excited to branch out to.
“Canada has a rich fighting history and there is a lot of talent there that’s looking to hit the big stage, and with Matchroom, Yvon Michel and DAZN on board, Canadian fighters are going to get the chance to shine, starting with the big-hitting Heavyweight Barriere.
“The main event on February 28 is going to be fireworks. Rocky always brings the action and styles will gel to create an all-Mexican war to heat up Quebec.”
Further undercard fights will be announced soon. The Quebec show replaces the previously announced February 28 event in Oaxaca, Mexico, which has been moved to Canada due to logistical issues.
Paddy Donovan confident of defeating Lewis Crocker in All-Ireland fight March 1 in IBF World Welterweight Title eliminator in Belfast
NEW YORK (February 11, 2025) – In arguably the greatest All-Ireland pro boxing match of all-time, undefeated Paddy “The Real Deal” Donovan (14-0, 11 KOs) is confident of defeating arch-rival Lewis “The Croc” Crocker (20-0, 11 KOs) in their March 1st showdown, streaming on DAZN live from The SSE Arena (Odyssey Arena) in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Much more than Irish bragging rights will be on the line for the 26-year-old Donovan, fighting out of Limerick, Ireland, the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Welterweight Champion, and Crocker (20-0, 11 KOs), the 28-year-old World Boxing Association (WBA) Inter-Continental Welterweight Champion who will be fighting at home in Belfast.
The 12-round, main event winner of the Crocker vs. Donovan IBF welterweight title eliminator will become the No. 1, mandatory challenger for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Welterweight Champion, whether that is for current world welterweight champions Jaron “Boots” Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs – IBF) or Eimantas Stanionis (15-0, 9 KOs – WBA), who are scheduled to fight for the unified IBF and WBA crowns on April 12 in Atlantic City.
Crocker vs. Donovan has been brewing for a long time. They are both rising stars and world ranked: Donovan at IBF #5, WBA #6 and WBC #13; Crocker at WBA #3, IBF #5 and WBO #3.
“I will best Lewis Crocker because he has never fought anyone as good as me,” Donovan proclaimed. “I have all the tools to beat him. I’ll out-box and out-fight him. I do those things, he can’t, and I’ll show that on fight night. I have visualized the fight in my head many times. I believe that in real time, seeing me punch him to either the head or body.”
Donovan hasn’t fought since this past May 25, Crocker since last June 22. Both are promoted by Matchroom Boxing and Jumaane Camero is their only common pro-opponent with both winning six-round decisions.
“If you don’t love this matchup, then you don’t like boxing,” Donovan’s co-manager Keith Sullivan commented. “Given their power, aggressive styles, and toughness, it is going to be an explosive battle between two top fighters. No boxing fan should miss this. It is going to be an epic fight and has a fight-of-the-year potential.”
Sullivan, a New York City attorney and former Deputy Commissioner for the New York State Boxing Commission, co-manages Donovan with former world middleweight champion Andy Lee, who is Paddy’s head trainer as well.
“I heard Lewis say Paddy was turning this into a North versus South rivalry,” Sullivan continued. “That is not the case at all. This fight will unite, not divide, people from all over Ireland, North and South, as they cheer on their chosen man of the night. I have relations in both the North and South, trust me, this fight is not about divisiveness, it transcends politics or sectarianism. Irish fans are knowledgeable, and they know a great fight when they see one. This fight is about two warriors putting it all on the line for a shot at the title while their native cities cheer them on to victory.
“Obviously, I see Paddy being victorious. I’ve heard all this talk about Crocker’s ‘experience’ and being a past five-time headliner. He was the main event on one card in a venue that seats a thousand. This is Paddy’s 15th professional fight, for Crocker’s 15th, 16th, and 17th fights he fought guys that had 61 combined losses. So come on, what’s all that chatter about. Paddy has no fear of Crocker’s experience. Paddy got to the level earlier in his career than Crocker did, so now a 20-0 versus a 14-0 is a great pairing for both at this stage of their careers. Don’t get me wrong, these are two talented and fierce boxers, but I believe Paddy has the edge in skill and power and he will have his hand raised in victory come March 1st.”
Donovan, a gifted southpaw, is dedicating this fight to Pieta, using his boxing platform to promote the suicide prevention charity that provides mental health services throughout Ireland. Paddy has lost two relatives to suicide. The Pietra Crisis Helpline, 1-800-247-247, offers crisis intervention support, 24 hours a day 365 days a year, to anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts or engaging in self-harm and also supports those bereaved through suicide.

UNSTOPPABLE: CHLOE WATSON DEFENDS EUROPEAN FLYWEIGHT TITLE AGAINST JASMINA ZAPOTOCZNA ON MARCH 7TH AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL
LONDON, UK (February 11, 2025) – Chloe Watson defends her European Flyweight Title against Jasmina Zapotoczna as the final fight card is now confirmed for BOXXER’s historic all-women’s event on Friday, March 7th at the Royal Albert Hall in London, live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland.
Watson captured the European Flyweight crown with a unanimous points win over Justine Lallemand in December 2023. The 24-year-old was scheduled to make the first defence of her belt against Zapotoczna in September 2024, but a shoulder injury forced the fight to be postponed.
Zapotoczna earned her shot at Watson’s European title with an impressive victory over the previously unbeaten Maisey Rose Courtney. Born in Poland but based in Wakefield, the 30-year-old will be looking to upset another of Britain’s top prospects following her unanimous decision win over Courtney.
Watson, undefeated in her eight professional contests, is trained by British boxing legend Ricky Hatton. She boxes on Sky Sports for the second time having outpointed Gemma Reugg at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle in 2022.
The 24-year-old from Birkenhead is looking forward to fighting on the undercard of fellow Merseyside boxer Natasha Jonas, who inspired Watson to start boxing when visiting her school after the London 2012 Olympics.
Chloe Watson said: “I think Jasmina is a good fighter, but it’s a very dangerous time to be fighting me and I’ll be looking to put on my best performance yet come March 7th and what a platform and show to do it on.
“It’s great to be on the same card as Tasha Jonas who was a massive role model for me growing up, coming from the same area and high school, she’s always been a big inspiration to me.”
Jasmina Zapotoczna said: “I’m honored to be part of such a historic boxing event and I can’t wait to step into the ring with Chloe. Chloe is the perfect opponent for a European title fight and I know this will be an extremely competitive battle. But that’s exactly what I expect—from myself and from a true championship fight. I’m ready to give it everything and deliver a performance to remember! This is a moment to give the audience the best version of Jasmina Zapotoczna, and I’m ready to make it unforgettable!”
Francesca Hennessy completes a star-studded line up for this landmark event as the unbeaten 20-year-old returns to action having claimed the WBA Intercontinental Title with a points win over Ana Karla Vaz De Moraes last time out at the Copper Box Arena in London. Hennessy will aim to continue her impressive run in the pro ranks against Carla Camila Campos Gonzales.
Watson vs Zapotoczna and Hennessey vs Gonzales are the final additions for BOXXER’s ‘Unstoppable’ fight night – a historic all-women’s world championship event at the Royal Albert Hall taking place on Friday March 7th as the curtain-raiser to the International Women’s Day 2025 global campaign the following day.
Headlined by the WBC, IBF, WBA and Ring Magazine World Welterweight Unification clash between Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price MBE, this iconic event will also feature Caroline Dubois defending her WBC World Lightweight Title against WBC #1 contender Bo Mi Re Shin, an exciting all-British featherweight showdown between Karriss Artingstall and Raven Chapman and the professional debut of Olympic history maker Cindy Ngamba against reigning European champion Kirstie Bavington.
This event is presented in association with official partners Betfred, That Prize Guy, Riyadh Season, Car Finance 247, Village Hotels, Hell Energy and IFX Payments.

Ricky de los Santos & ‘King’ Kevin Walsh Prepare for War
UNCASVILLE, CT – On Saturday, February 15, Ricky de los Santos (12-1, 3 KOs) defends his WBC US Silver Featherweight Title against unbeaten New England Super Featherweight & Lightweight Champion “King” Kevin Walsh (15-0, 8 KOs).
The pair collide on CES Boxing’s massive ‘Love & War’ card taking place at Mohegan Sun Arena and broadcast live globally on DAZN. Tickets on sale now at CESFights.com, TicketMaster or the Mohegan Sun Arena box office. At first glance, the fighters have much in common: they have emerged as the top 2 featherweights in the northeast US, each coming off the biggest win of their respective careers last year at Mohegan Sun Arena. De los Santos won the WBC title against Nathan Martinez via unanimous decision in February, while Walsh dispatched of Irvin Gonzalez in 4 rounds to pick up the New England Super Featherweight title in November. They also proudly represent the fighting New England cities of Brockton, MA (Walsh) and Pawtucket, RI (de los Santos). The pugilists recently sat down with The Final Bell podcast to discuss a showdown that many believe will steal the show on Saturday night. They showed mutual respect and acknowledged the other’s strengths, but with emotions running high, they also traded a few barbs. “He’s a tough fighter,” said Walsh when assessing de los Santos. “He’s fast, he’s got skills and good footwork. I’m looking forward to the challenge. These are the moments I live for.” Walsh had a late start in boxing. The 32-year-old turned pro in 2021 and reeled off 15 victories in only 4 years. 2024 was his best year to date, as the Brockton native fought 5 times and won 2 titles. With each outing, Walsh steadily increased his level of opposition and showed marked improvement, something that’s not lost on de los Santos. “I know Kevin’s coming to fight,” said the Pawtucket resident. “I know he’s a tough kid, I know he works hard. We all know that because we see he’s on social media showing it. He’s got a great team behind him. Respect to CES and the Cappiello’s for moving him the way they did. Anybody can tell you that they moved him right and now we’re here. At this point in my career, I’m game. I wanted a fight like this.” In de los Santos, Walsh will be facing a slick boxer who feels that he is at the top of his game. The half Puerto Rican, half Dominican fighter turned pro in 2017 and won his first 10 bouts before being upset by Yeison Vargas in 2022. De los Santos regrouped since the loss, knocking out Jeno Tonte in 2 rounds in October 2023 and following that up with his title winning effort over Martinez 4 months later. Unfortunately for the 35-year-old, he hurt his hand in that fight and has not been able to capitalize on his biggest win until now. “I hurt my hand in the third or fourth round,” explains de los Santos of his inactivity. “I was able to fight through it and get the victory, but when I took tests after the fight, I was told to take off at least 6 months. I tried to get on the last CES card, but it didn’t work out, so they made this fight happen.” The fight between the New England rivals has significant ramifications. De los Santos is ranked 15 with the NABF, while Walsh is ranked 18. This fight represents the biggest test of each man’s career, with everything to gain from an impressive win on DAZN and much to lose if they stumble. When considering what the key difference is between them, de los Santos feels that he knows what to expect from Walsh after a sparring session that took place a while back. “In the most humblest way, I just think I’m levels above him,” says de los Santos flatly. “We’ve shared the ring before with me playing at 50%, 60% just to get the work in. I think that my all-around game is better. It’s not so much my game plan as it’s him having to adjust to what I got going on. If need be, I could do anything. I’ve been in there with everybody, so there’s nothing that he does that haven’t seen.” While Walsh admits that de los Santos may have gotten the best of the 4 round sparring session, he believes that it is irrelevant to what will happen on Saturday night. “It was 1 or 2 years ago,” says Walsh of the sparring sessions. “We’ve been in the ring together and he might have got the best of me that day, but that’s just sparring. This is a lot different. These are 8 oz gloves, and I’ve got some lethal hands, so I feel like my power is gonna be the difference in this fight. My speed’s gonna be the difference, my overall conditioning. I’m ready for war.” In fact, when visualizing the outcome of this fight, Walsh sees it ending in emphatic fashion. “The KO’s coming, 100%,” says Walsh. “Respect to Ricky de los Santos and his team for accepting the fight because he knows I’m ready for war. I know Ricky’s tough, but I’m another animal. I’m another beast and I’m looking forward to proving that because I know a lot of people are sleeping on me and probably thinking that Ricky’s got this, but I’m really looking forward to proving all the haters and the doubters wrong. I’ve got these lethal weapons right here with me, so I’m coming.” And with that, the war of words was ignited. “He’s in for a beating,” countered de los Santos. “I’m gonna do him filthy. I’m gonna do him dirty, I promise you. Whatever he wants to do, I’ll dog walk this dude. He knows that. I’m telling you right now. I promise you he’s no king in that ring. That night, you’ll be the queen in that ring. In your world, you could be a king. It’s cool, but in that ring, nah.” There’s only one way to find out who the king of the featherweights is, and that’s in the ring on February 15. Be sure to catch ‘Love and War’ live from Mohegan Sun Arena or on DAZN. With 3 title fights and several of the best contenders and prospects in competitive fights, it’s an event you won’t want to miss. “Sebastian Fundora sits atop the stacked super welterweight division and will no doubt be looking to put on a show when he defends his world titles against the dangerous highly-rated contender Chordale Booker topping this great event on Prime Video on March 22,” said Tom Brown, President of TGB Promotions. “This is a tremendous style matchup between the forward-charging attack of Fundora and the slick counterpunching of Booker and will make for great back-and-forth. Combined with a surefire action fight between Jesus Ramos Jr. and Kevin Salgado and a toss-up fight between Elijah Garcia and Terrell Gausha, everything is in place for another memorable fight night in Las Vegas.”
“Sebastian ‘The Towering Inferno’ Fundora will be better than ever in his first fight as a defending unified world champion,” said Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing. “The whole Fundora family works so hard to be where they are and they deserve their success. Chordale Booker is a good fighter with real skills, but he won’t be able to take Sebastian’s power.”
**SEBASTIAN FUNDORA VS. CHORDALE BOOKER**
Standing nearly six-foot-six, Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora leapt into the championship ranks after earning a decision over Tim Tszyu last year, and will now defend his WBC and WBO 154-pound world titles against the WBO No. 5-ranked and WBC No. 14-ranked super welterweight contender in Chordale Booker as they top the March 22 event in a 12-round attraction.
Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs) rocketed to the top of the super welterweight division with a fan-friendly style and bruising toughness in the ring that helped him emerge victorious from a grueling and bloody battle against Tszyu last March. A native of Coachella, California, Fundora notably showed his mettle in April 2022, battling the hard-hitting Erickson Lubin in an instant 2022 Fight of the Year contender. Despite both men hitting the canvas, Fundora stood tall in the end, prompting Lubin’s corner to stop the fight at the end of the ninth round. The 27-year-old has defeated a slew of contenders throughout his career, with his only defeat coming to Brian Mendoza in 2023. Fundora represents one of boxing’s most accomplished families, as he is trained by his father Freddy alongside his younger sister, undisputed flyweight world champion Gabriela. The two fighting Fundora’s are the first brother and sister to simultaneously hold world championships.
“I’m preparing really hard to defend my unified WBC and WBO world titles on March 22 in Las Vegas,” said Fundora. “Everyone can expect to see me prepared and ready to leave it all in the ring like I always do. ‘The Towering Inferno’ is back, and I’m coming to take out everyone in my way.”
Fighting out of his native Stamford, Connecticut, Booker (23-1, 11 KOs) enters this fight on a six-fight winning streak that includes four stoppage victories that have helped him rise up the rankings and earn his first world title opportunity. Since a 2022 loss to Austin Williams, Booker has dominated his competition, including a 2024 campaign that saw him defeat veteran contender Greg Vendetti in February before stopping Brian Damian Chaves in round three of their June clash. The 33-year-old also owns triumphs over a litany of tough contenders including Wale Omotoso and VeShawn Owens. Prior to turning pro in 2016, Booker put together a sensational amateur career that included gold medals at the U.S. National and Golden Gloves championships, in addition to a bronze medal at the U.S. Olympic trials that earned him an alternate spot for the 2016 U.S. Olympic team.
“I’ve done everything I could to get here, and it’s a testament to what my foundation represents – going the distance,” said Booker. “I’ve gone the distance to make it to this fight. I’ve taken fights on short notice, fought for less and always kept pushing forward. Now, 15 years into my boxing journey, I’m stepping into the biggest fight of my life. This moment means everything and it’s proof that hard work and perseverance pays off.”
**JESUS RAMOS JR. VS. KEVIN SALGADO**
In the 10-round co-main event, one of the sport’s brightest rising Mexican stars will return to action as Jesus Ramos Jr. looks to continue his climb up the stacked 154-pound division when he battles the all-action contender Kevin Salgado in an explosive all-Mexican battle.
After coming up on the wrong end of a contested decision against top contender Erickson Lubin in September 2023, Ramos (22-1, 18 KOs) has returned in style with back-to-back stoppages. Most recently he blasted out the former unified champion Jeison Rosario in the eight-round of their February 1 matchup. A native of Casa Grande, Ariz., Ramos had worked his way up the rankings by defeating a slew of contenders including Brian Mendoza, Javier Molina, Vladimir Hernandez and an emphatic stoppage of the then-unbeaten Joey Spencer. Trained by his father Jesus Sr., and the nephew of veteran contender Abel, the 23-year-old Ramos entered the Lubin fighting having stopped seven of his last 10 opponents.
“I’m thrilled to be stepping back into the ring on March 22,” said Ramos. “One of my main goals this year was to increase my activity and this opportunity aligns perfectly with that ambition. Kevin Salgado is a formidable fighter known for his resilience and determination, and that should make for an electrifying night of boxing. Coming off an extended training camp, my conditioning is at its peak. Now our primary focus is to develop a strategic game plan tailored to Salgado’s unique style so that we can secure the victory.”
A native of Mexico City, Salgado (17-2-1, 10 KOs) is the younger brother of former super featherweight champion Juan Carlos Salgado and now fights out of San Antonio, Texas. Salgado enters this with two consecutive stoppage victories following an April 2023 decision loss to Elijah Garcia. The 27-year-old turned pro in late 2016 and delivered knockouts in six of his first nine outings. After scoring three-straight knockouts between September 2019 and February 2021, Salgado returned to the ring in October 2021 to defeat Ricardo Banuelos Cernas by unanimous decision before fighting Bryant Perrella to a split-draw in his U.S. debut in April. Salgado bounced back from a September 2022 defeat to Joey Spencer by knocking out Gilberto Flores in the first round of their December 2022 clash.
“This is an important opportunity and I’m coming to make the most of it,” said Salgado. “I have a strong opponent, but I’m going to be the best version of myself when the fight comes. On March 22 I will do whatever it takes to get my hand raised.”
**ELIJAH GARCIA VS. TERRELL GAUSHA**
The opening attraction will see the return of a rising star in the 21-year-old Elijah Garcia, who seeks to bounce back from his first career defeat and return to his championship trajectory in a 10-round middleweight fight against the always tough veteran Terrell Gausha, who has stood up to a litany of top fighters throughout his career.
Fighting out of Phoenix, Arizona, García (16-1, 13 KOs) steps back into the ring after dropping a close split-decision last June against middleweight contender Kyrone Davis. Garcia had previously burst onto the scene as a teenager by earning three impressive victories in 2023. He kicked off that memorable campaign in March with a knockout of the previously unbeaten Amilcar Vida and followed that up with a pair of performances on the undercards of two of the biggest events of the year. He first defeated Kevin Salgado on the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia pay-per-view in April before knocking out Armando Resendiz on the Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo pay-per-view in September. The precocious García has moved fast since turning pro in 2020 and knocked out seven of his last nine opponents heading into the Davis fight.
“I’m not just ready for this fight, I’m ready to dominate,” said Garcia. “I’m excited to get back in the ring and unleash everything I’ve been working on in camp. The addition of Bob Santos and his knowledge and wisdom that he’s shared with our team is a game changer. His expertise and guidance are going to take us to new heights and propel us to the next level. We’re not just looking to win, we’re looking to make a statement.”
A member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team, Gausha (24-4-1, 12 KOs) was born in Cleveland, Ohio but now fights out of Encino, California and is trained by the renowned Manny Robles. He most recently dropped a competitive decision to reigning WBC Middleweight World Champion Terrell Gausha in their June 2024 world title fight. Prior to facing Adames, Gausha had won back-to-back bouts as he knocked out Brandyn Lynch in March 2023 before winning a decision over KeAndrae Leatherwood in September of that year. Gausha has faced top competition throughout his career, having fought former champion Austin Trout to a draw in 2019 in addition to decision losses against WBA Middleweight World Champion Erislandy Lara, former world champion Tim Tszyu and top contender Erickson Lubin.
“I’m excited to get back in the mix,” said Gausha. “I’m always working and staying ready for any opportunity. On March 22 people will know why I’ve been at this level for so long. I’m going to make a statement for sure.”

WBA #5 super middleweight contender Darius “DFG” Fulghum plans to deliver a Splash Performance on February 15th against Winfred Harris, Jr. in Anaheim on DAZN
LOS ANGELES (February 10, 2025) – Undefeated super middleweight Darius “DFG” Fulgham (13-0, 11 KOs), No. 5 in the world by the World Boxing Association (WBA), is excited about his second World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Super Middleweight title defense this Saturday night (Feb. 15) against Detroit veteran Winfred “Hotboy” Harris, Jr. (22-2-2, 10 KOs).
Fulghum vs. Harris, Jr. is the 10-round, co-featured event on a Golden Boy Promotions card, headlined by Oscar Duarte vs. Miguel Madueno, to be streamed on DAZN live from Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Harris, Jr., who has only been stopped once in 26 pro fights, is a former Universal Boxing Federation All America Middleweight Champion. His last fight ended in an eight-round draw last November for the World Boxing Council FECARBOX super middleweight title.
“I’m excited about this great opportunity,” Fulghum said. “I don’t know too much about my opponent and won’t until I get in the ring. He has a good record; I hear that he comes to fight.
“This is an opportunity for me to show what level I’m at in my division. I’m planning a splash performance. My job is to put on a show. There are expectations for me to perform at a high level because of my rating, but this is what I love to do. Overall, I train hard to be the best version of myself.”
Fulghum and Harris, Jr. have one common opponent, Vaughen Alexander, who defeated last June by way of a 10-round unanimous decision, while Harris, Jr. fought Alexander in 2021 to an eight-round solute draw.
Last month, Fulghum gained additional experience as a sparring partner for light heavyweight David Morrell, Jr. for the latter’s recent fight against David Benavidez.
“I showed that I belong,” Fulghum remarked about sparring with Morell, “and that I’m one of the top guys at 168.”
Fulghum, 28, was a decorated amateur boxer who was ranked No. 1 in the USA as a heavyweight, but as a professional he’s fought strictly as a super middleweight. He captured top honors at the 2018 National Golden Gloves Tournament and 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, both of these major amateur accomplishments achieved while he was earning a nursing degree from Prairie View A & M University.
Fulghum is working with 3 Point Management (3 PM), which has a growing stable of gifted boxers including WBA & WBO Cruiserweight World Champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (47-1, 30 KOs), world super flyweight title challenger John “Scrappy” Ramirez (14-1, 9 KOs), former WBA Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight Champion Kareem “Supreme” Hackett (12-1, 6 KOs) and German junior welterweight Simon “Saucy” Vollmer (6-0, 2 KOs).
