TEENAGE PHENOM “KING” DAVID GARCIA TALKS SWIFT PROMOTIONS DEBUT, MENTORSHIP FROM DANNY GARCIA & EDGAR BERLANGA, BECOME BOXING’S YOUNGEST CHAMPION & MORE AHEAD OF SHOWDOWN THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

PHILADELPHIA – June 4, 2025 – Highly-acclaimed teenage prospect “King” David Garcia will make his debut for boxing legend Danny Garcia’s Swift Promotions this Saturday night as he takes on Marcelino Rangel (1-1) in a four-round bantamweight matchup from the Newtown Sports & Events Center in Newtown, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia.

“Being able to make my U.S. debut with Swift Promotions has always been a dream of mine,” said Garcia, who’s already racked up a 3-0 record with 2 KO’s. “It means everything to me. It means that on June 7, a star will be born. That day will be legendary.”

At just 15-years-old, Garcia turned pro in 2024 after a standout amateur run across 80 fights that included four national championships (U.S. Championship, National Junior Olympics, National Silver Gloves and Wester Elite Qualifier). A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Garcia scored three victories last year, including two by stoppage, and will campaign at 115 pounds. Now 16-years-old, Garcia says his young foray into the paid ranks has always been the plan.

“We’ve known since I was about 13 that we were going to turn pro early,” said Garcia, who’s trained by his father David Sr. “We always wanted to do something different and stand out. Turning pro at 15 I feel like LeBron James, fresh out of high school to the NBA. That’s the type of statement we made by choosing the decision to go pro young and sign with a promotion company like Swift Promotions. We wanted to stand out.”

Garcia began boxing at just four-years-old, as his father and trainer David Sr. was inspired by the father-son team of Danny and Angel Garcia. He’s quickly shown the makings of a future world champion, and with the backing of boxing stalwarts such as Danny Garcia, Puerto Rican star Edgar Berlanga and former world champion Mickey Bey.

“Right now, Edgar is at the highest level in his career as far as his mentality and work ethic,” said Garcia, who will join Berlanga in training camp after June 7. “I’m excited to be around that energy and I think it’s gonna help me grow. I’ve been to camp with him a few times when I was younger, but this will be my first time when we’re both pros. I’m looking to be in that atmosphere with his killer mentality.”

With his idol Danny Garcia, “King” David explained how this June 7 event is the culmination of a years-long relationship between the two Garcia’s.

“I met Danny since I was six-years-old and I’ve been around him ever since,” said “King” David Garcia. “Whenever I was going to his fights or his training camps, I always told myself I was gonna be in his shoes one day. We used to talk about him signing me when he was later in his career, so it was a no-brainer when the time came. I feel comfortable with Danny guiding my career since he’s been in every situation that I’m gonna go through. We have the cheat code having Danny in our corner.”

A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Garcia scored three victories in his debut year, and will look to make a big statement fighting just outside of Philadelphia, a place he considers his home away from home because of his time spent with the legendary Danny Garcia.

“I’m so ready to put on a show for the Philly fans,” said Garcia. “That’s always been a second home for me, so to have my U.S. debut there is really exciting. I’m looking to make a statement to show that I belong in the pro game at the elite level. I’m gonna show everybody why I turned pro at such a young age.”

Despite his young age, Garcia has already set his expectations as high as possible, with his eyes set on fighting as much as possible in order to rocket up the rankings on his way to becoming the youngest world champion in history.

“The goal is to get more fights and more wins,” said Garcia. “We got a couple of big ones coming up, so I’m gonna stay busy. I plan to make a run to try to be the youngest world champion in the history of boxing. Until then, I just want to rack up more wins and be an inspiration for other kids out there.”

Title “The Future Is Now: Series II”, the event will stream live beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Millions.co or through the Millions App for the price of $19.99.

Unbeaten Middleweight Sebastian Juarez Faces Power-Punching Shaquille Cameron on Most Valuable Prospects 13, Live on DAZN

ORLANDO, FL (June 4, 2025) — Boxlab Promotions’ newly signed rising middleweight prospect, Sebastian Juarez (7-0, 5 KOs) of Brownsville, Texas, will put his unbeaten record on the line when he takes on hard-hitting Shaquille Cameron (7-4, 6 KOs) from Gadsden, Alabama in a scheduled 6-round bout. The fight is part of the action-packed Most Valuable Prospects 13 card promoted by MVP, set for Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida, and will be televised live on DAZN.

Juarez, training under the guidance of renowned boxing coach, Bob Santos, has quickly become one of the middleweight division’s most talked-about young fighters making a name for himself while sparring in Las Vegas.

“This has been my most intense camp yet,” said Juarez about his recent training camp. “Coach Bob Santos has put me in some intense sparring sessions while training in Las Vegas. We’ve pushed hard with strength and conditioning to make sure I’m prepared for every round. I feel strong and sharp—ready to go. Patience, accuracy, and smart pressure is what fans can expect from me in this fight. I don’t waste punches. When I land, it’s with purpose—and this time will be no different.”

Now facing a dangerous puncher in Cameron, who owns an impressive KO ratio, Juarez aims to show he’s more than ready for the next level. “Cameron is a dangerous power puncher, and I respect that,” continued Juarez. “But I’ve faced pressure before, and I’m ready to match his power with precision and grit. I know how to break him down.”

Looking for a win Juarez says a victory would build his profile and show he belongs on the national stage. This will be Juarez’ first bout fighting under the Boxlab Promotions banner. “I want to prove I’m not just a prospect—I’m a future contender in this division. A win will show my place amongst the top prospects at middleweight. My goal is to impress the fans with a great performance and show Boxlab Promotions that they made the right choice by signing me. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity.”

“Sebastian Juarez is one of those fighters who does everything the right way—disciplined, focused, and explosive,” said Amaury Piedra, President of Boxlab Promotions. “His matchup with Shaquille Cameron is a real test, and a win here moves him another step closer to bigger opportunities. Fans tuning in on DAZN are in for a great performance.”

VIDEO: Pacquiao vs. Barrios Los Angeles Press Conference

MANNY PACQUIAO VS. MARIO BARRIOS LOS ANGELES & LAS VEGAS PRESS CONFERENCES QUOTES

LOS ANGELES – June 3, 2025 – Hall of Fame boxing legend Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and WBC Welterweight World Champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios squared off for the second time at a press conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday, following a Las Vegas press conference on Saturday, all to preview their main event showdown taking place Saturday, July 19 headlining a star-studded PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The events in Los Angeles and Las Vegas also featured WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora and Australian superstar Tim Tszyu, who will rematch in the co-main event after engaging in 2024’s bloodiest fight.

The Los Angeles press conference also included Mexican star Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and his hard-hitting countryman Angel Fierro, who meet for a second time after their action packed February clash, plus former two-division world champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa and top contender Joet Gonzalez, who kick off the pay-per-view at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Pre-sale tickets are available NOW until 10 p.m. PT through AXS.com with the code: PBC

Public on-sale begins TOMORROW, Wednesday, June 4 at 10 a.m. PT through AXS.com.

Here is what the fighters had to say from events Tuesday at The Novo at L.A. Live and Saturday from House of Blues Las Vegas:

MANNY PACQUIAO

“The fire, determination and eagerness to work hard is still there. I’m still enjoying running the mountains. Not every fighter has this feeling. This is a blessing, because I’ve been through so many big fights in my career and I’m still here. I’m back.

“To the boxing fans all over the world, thank you for accepting me again. I hope that on July 19 this fight will entertain everyone. Everyone here is going to work hard in their training camp so that the fans are happy on July 19.

“Barrios is the kind of fighter who gives people good fights. Me and him together in the ring will satisfy the fans and that’s what I want.

“It would mean a lot for me to become world champion again. Manny Pacquiao is always giving surprises to the fans. That’s my passion and it’s really important to me. I want everyone to be happy with this fight.

“My goal is to leave a legacy to the boxing fans. I want to inspire the young generation who are dreaming of becoming a champion.

“July 19 is gonna be a lot of action. There’s a lot of great fights on this card. I know what Barrios is capable of and I know that we can entertain the fans.

“I’ve been able to rest my body and it’s been good for me. Now I’m back and I’m excited to give the fans a great fight. I know that Barrios is training hard to defend his belt. I’m the challenger, so I know I have to go the extra mile and punish myself in training to win the fight. That’s the goal.

“I’ve been boxing for many years, and even the years I wasn’t boxing, I was still thinking about boxing. I even have a boxing gym in my house and was always working out. I really missed boxing.”

MARIO BARRIOS

“I’m here, I’m ready and I’m the champion for a reason. This is a huge fight that could be Fight of the Year. I can’t wait.

“All the other big fights I’ve had have prepared me for a moment like this. I’m defending my title against a legend and I couldn’t be more honored.

“Facing Manny is something I never pictured unfolding, and now it’s here on one of the biggest cards of the year. July 19 is gonna be a night of boxing that you don’t wanna miss.

“It’s a great honor for a legend like Manny to want to come back and fight for my title. This is my biggest fight so far and I’m excited to take it on.

“Come July 19 I’ll be facing a legend across from me. I have nothing but respect for him outside of the ring. But inside the ring, he’s just another man who’s trying to take what’s mine. I’m the champion for a reason and I’m gonna show that.

“I think I can take a lot that I learned from the Gervonta Davis fight into this one. The way he closes distance and works off his speed, and even the size, are all similar. All of my big fights have really prepared me for this moment.

“I’ve been seeing people face off with Manny at press conferences like this since I was a kid. He’s not very serious, except when he’s in the ring. I know he’s gonna bring it when we get in the ring.”

SEBASTIAN FUNDORA

“I don’t think this fight goes the distance. I’ve been training hard and growing since the first fight. Last year was a great year, but this year is gonna be even better.

“Tim Tszyu is a great fighter and I’m happy to share another 12 rounds with him. I think that I beat him pretty fair last time, and I just have to do it again.

“I always fight aggressive fighters like Tim. This is just more experience for me against that type of fighter.

“We can always improve off our past performances. Nobody fights a perfect fight. We’re going to make some changes that you’re gonna see on fight night.

“I’m very happy to be back against an incredible opponent. Last time we put on a great show, and I’m pretty sure we’re gonna do it again. I’m just ready to show everyone why I’m the best 154-pounder in the world.

“I just have to stick to my game plan. Me and my father had a plan for the first fight, and we’ll have a plan for this one. It’s just about who has a better team, that’s who wins the fight. And I’m sure my team is better.

“I’m continuing to grow and all the stars are lining up for me. We’re growing into our full man strength and fighting on these huge stages. Each step is a mile long, but if I just listen to what my dad says, I’ll be ready.

“I hope Tim’s fully recovered from the cut. I’m hoping it’s a hell of a fight.”

TIM TSZYU

“This is the most important fight for me. It gives me this burning fire. It’s the first rematch of my career and I’m excited to rewrite my mistake.

“It was one hell of a fight the first time. I love to test myself in the heart and prove to myself that I can go forward no matter what. It was a fun fight the first time and could be another Fight of the Year.

“Just over a year ago me and Fundora produced a classic. It was a fight that will be remembered by a lot of people for a very long time. This fight is round 13. It’s a new chapter and a new beginning. Even though things didn’t go my way, I intend to get back to where I started.

“Fundora is a hell of a fighter and the current king of 154. But it’s my turn to reclaim the throne. We’re gonna give the fans a really great treat.

“Me and Fundora, we both like to press and we both bring the action. Fighting against Fundora can’t be technical. You can’t really stay on your distance and take your time with him because he’s so tall. You have to make it a fight and bring the action. Anyone who fights him is in for a hard night at the office.

“I remember feeling him and his shots and sort of figuring him out early in our first fight. The hardest part was that I lost my focus from rounds three to round 10. I wasn’t in the same mindset that I was in the first two rounds. I adapted at the end of the fight, but it was a bit too late. I know what needs to be done this time.

“I want that belt and I want that title. But it’s not only about the belt, it’s about the story and the redemption. We had a hard fight and it’s something that I need to get back. It’s one of those things that I need to rewrite.

“This card is gonna deliver, because we have four tremendous fights and we’re all gonna bring it on July 19.”

ISAAC CRUZ

“We’re going to put on a show once again. Come out to see me once again get the victory. I can’t wait to see everyone in Las Vegas.

“I’m not worried about what he said. He says I don’t have a chin, but I still beat him. We’re gonna see on July 19.

“It’s not even worth replying to what Angel is saying right now. I’m gonna respond with my fists when that bell rings.

“I’m gonna win. There’s nothing more to say. Get ready, because I’m leaving that ring with another victory.

“He’s just one more in a long line of talkers who like to talk outside of the ring. I like to do my talking inside of the ring.”

ANGEL FIERRO

“I’m here to remove the bitter taste from my mouth from the first fight with Cruz. It’s gonna be a great fight and I can’t wait.

“I figured Isaac Cruz out in our first fight, and now he’s gonna have to figure me out. Isaac doesn’t have the chin that people say he has. So let’s see if he can figure out what to do in the rematch.

“We’re here because he didn’t win so convincingly. We’ll see what happens next. Everyone will see on July 19.

“In the third round of our last fight, I showed that I can rock him. No matter what he says, that happened. I said that I was gonna brawl the first time and it’s gonna be the same thing again. I’m gonna brawl my way to winning the fight, no matter what.

“I’m coming to give it my all. It’s win or go home. 100%. I don’t think about anything else other than winning.”

BRANDON FIGUEROA

“I have a new trainer in Manny Robles and we’ve been working together the last four weeks. I feel incredible. I’ve been working very hard and I’m proud to be in this position.

“If you asked me when I started my career if I ever saw myself fighting on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao, I’d say you’re crazy. But this was destiny and I’m happy to be on this card with all these other hungry fighters.

“I’m really motivated knowing that I’ll be followed by all these great fighters. I know Joet Gonzalez comes ready, so we’re gonna give fans a great show and let everyone know that this card is stacked.

“I’m always down for a fight. Styles make fights and this opener is gonna be amazing. I just can’t wait to get in there.

“I’m coming with everything. I feel like I owe it to the boxing fans after my last performance. This time I’m giving everything I’ve got.

“I’m learning every day from Manny Robles. We’re just getting started and finding a groove. I come to work. I know he’ll have me ready in mind, body and spirit to get this win on July 19.”

JOET GONZALEZ

“I’m very excited for this fight. It’s a blessing. It’s always been a goal of mine to be on a stage like this. I always train hard and I’m gonna come with everything to get that win on July 19. I’ll be ready.

“I’m looking to make a big statement. I’m coming to get his win. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m planning to make the most of it.

“The whole world will be tuned in and I’m training really hard to get the win. I’m gonna leave it all on the line.

“I’m gonna get the victory by any means necessary. I train hard for every fight, and I’m coming to win.

“From top to bottom, every fighter up here has the potential to steal the show. That’s what I’m planning to do.”

AMMO LANDS IBF WORLD TITLE FINAL ELIMINATOR AGAINST OLIHA ON BAM-CAFU SHOW

Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams can take a massive step towards his World title dreams as he takes on Etinosa Oliha in a final eliminator for the IBF World Middleweight title at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Dallas on Saturday July 19 – part of the undercard for the unification blockbuster between WBC and Ring Magazine Super-Flyweight champion Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez and WBO ruler Phumelele Cafu, live worldwide on DAZN.

TICKETS FOR BAM VS. CAFU ARE ON SALE NOW VIA SEATGEEK.COM

Williams (18-1 10 KOs) has moved into #6 spot with the IBF after picking up back-to-back wins over Gian Garrido in Philadelphia in November before headlining in Florida and seeing off Patrice Volny in March. ‘Ammo’ used those wins to bounce back from a spirited loss to Hamzah Sheeraz in Saudi Arabia a year ago and now faces the IBF #1 contender with a World title shot within reach.

Oliha (21-0 9 KOs) has climbed seamlessly into the top spot with the IBF and the Italian now takes on the biggest fight of his seven-year career on his American debut. The unbeaten 26 year old operated exclusively on home turf in the first 16 fights of his career but has won his last five fights on the spin in Germany to move into the lofty position he aims to protect in the Lone Star State.

“One year ago, I found myself in the darkest space of my life, losing beloved family members, followed by suffering my first defeat as a professional pugilist,” said Williams.

“Three fights later, I find myself in position to become the #1 Middleweight in the world once again.

“This time around, everything is aligned. I have proven to myself that I am a true champion, before I have the World Championship belt around my waste. July 19 we are bringing it back to my roots, Texas, where it all began. Relentless, unwavering, educated pressure will be exerted on my opponent until I completely break him, sending him back to Italy a changed man. This fight will not go the distance.”

“I’m very motivated and looking forward to July 19,” said Oliha. “Austin Williams is the last step before a World title shot. I am very confident that I will take this chance.”

Arturo Cardenas moves down to Bantamweight on July 19, and he takes on Dominique ‘Dimes’ Crowder for the WBC Continental Americas and WBA Continental North Americas titles. Cardenas (16-0-1 9 KOs) drops to 118lbs after a fine run at Super-Bantamweight, where the 24 year old recently held the WBC Continental Americas title, and will be looking to make an immediate impact on the World rankings at his new weight by seeing off his toughest test to date in Crowder.

Former amateur star Crowder (18-0 11 KOs) has cruised to 18-0 in the paid ranks, and the two-time New York Golden Gloves champion now looks to shift into title contention on his biggest stage to date and land his first pro titles in Frisco.

“I’m thrilled to add two more brilliant fights added to what promises to be a massive night of action in Frisco,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “Ammo has bounced back brilliantly to get himself into this position, and this is now the biggest night of his career against the very dangerous Oliha – with the winner lining up a shot at World title glory.

“Arturo’s clash with Dominique is a cracker, with the Mexican talent looking to excel at a lower weight, while ‘Dimes’ gets the big stage he’s been craving to turn that amateur pedigree into success in the paid ranks.

“With pound-for-pound star Bam in another unification battle, Diego Pacheco looking to underline his World title credentials and Team USA’s Olympic bronze medal man Omari Jones back in action, July 19 will be a memorable night.”

Ammo vs. Oliha and Cardenas vs. Crowder join a stacked night of action in Frisco, topped by Bam’s battle with Cafu.

Unbeaten Super-Middleweight sensation Diego Pacheco defends his USWBC and WBO International Super-Middleweight titles against Trevor McCumby, while Team USA’s Olympic bronze medal man Omari Jones fights for the third time in the paid ranks, taking on Alfredo Blanco over six rounds.

HALL OF FAMER MANNY PACQUIAO SET TO CONTINUE LEGENDARY CAREER & CHALLENGE WBC WELTERWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION MARIO BARRIOS HEADLINING PBC PAY-PER-VIEW EVENT ON PRIME VIDEO ON SATURDAY, JULY 19

LAS VEGAS – June 3, 2025 – First ballot International Boxing Hall of Famer Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will look to add another memorable highlight to his legendary career and become a world champion once again when he challenges the hard-hitting WBC Welterweight World Champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios on Saturday, July 19 headlining a star-studded PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The co-main event will see a rematch of 2024’s bloodiest fight as reigning WBC Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora faces Australian superstar and former world champion Tim Tszyu. Fundora and Tszyu combined for an unforgettable night in March 2024 as Tszyu fought through one of the most gruesome cuts in recent memory before eventually losing to Fundora by a narrow split-decision.

The stacked lineup features another sensational rematch as Mexican star Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz battles the hard-hitting Angel Fierro in a 12-round super lightweight fight that follows their action packed first showdown. Plus, former two-division world champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa steps in against top contender Joet Gonzalez for 10-rounds of featherweight action that opens the pay-per-view at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Pre-sale tickets are available NOW until 10 p.m. PT through AXS.com with the code: PBC

Public on-sale begins TOMORROW, Wednesday, June 4 at 10 a.m. PT through AXS.com.

In addition to being available for purchase on Prime Video, regardless of Prime membership, fans will also be able to continue to access the telecast through traditional cable and satellite outlets as well as PPV.com.

**MANNY PACQUIAO VS. MARIO BARRIOS**

Despite a 17-year age gap between these two fighters, both are unified in their desire to deliver toe-to-toe action for boxing fans as the fighting pride of the Philippines Manny Pacquiao duels WBC Welterweight World Champion Mario Barrios in the 12-round main event.

Already owning a career that’s seen him earn more accolades than can be listed in print, Pacquiao can etch his name into another chapter of the history books by going straight from his Hall of Fame induction in June to a world championship-winning performance on July 19. In an era that’s seen superstars in their 40’s such as Tom Brady and LeBron James continue to excel at the highest levels, Pacquiao can break his own record as the oldest welterweight world champion in history with a win over Barrios, after originally setting the mark at 40-years-old in his 2019 triumph over Keith Thurman.

The Filipino legend will have a tall task in front of him to achieve this feat, as the six-foot Barrios will bring a nearly seven-inch height advantage into his second defense of the WBC title. A two-division world champion, Barrios represents his Aztec heritage every time he enters the ring with an all-action style that’s delivered numerous electric clashes and which should combine with the always hard-charging Pacquiao for explosive action. Looking for a signature victory to separate himself from the other titleholders in boxing’s historic glamour division, Barrios will no doubt be keen to upend Pacquiao’s coronation when they square off on July 19.

A three-time Fighter of the Year and the one-time Boxing Writers Association of America’s Fighter of the Decade, Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs), who hails from Sarangani Province in the Philippines, is the only sitting Congressman and Senator to win a world title. After serving two terms as Congressman, Pacquiao was elected to a Philippine Senate seat in May 2016. Pacquiao’s boxing resume features victories over eight current Hall of Famers, including Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Pacquiao’s most recent run in the 147-pound division saw him dispatch of former four-division world champion Adrien Broner in January 2019, before defeating the then-undefeated and reigning WBA Welterweight World Champion Keith Thurman in July of that same year. Pacquiao’s triumph over Thurman saw him send Thurman to the canvas in round one, the first time Thurman had been down in his career, on his way to edging out a decision in a 2019 Fight of the Year contender. Pacquiao would come up short in his next contest, dropping a decision to late-replacement Yordenis Ugas, who stepped in on short notice to replace an injured Errol Spence Jr. in August 2021.

“Boxing is my passion and I’m so excited to be back in the ring,” said Pacquiao. “MGM Grand is like my second home in my career and it’s a place where I’ve had so many memorable fights, including my U.S. debut. The first title I ever won was a WBC title, and now I am back to fight for the WBC title once again. Mario Barrios is exactly the type of champion I like to fight, because he’s a real Mexican warrior like Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez. Come July 19, it’s going to be an amazing night for the fans.”

The 29-year-old Barrios (29-2-1, 18 KOs) stamped his place among the welterweight elite in September 2023 as he dropped former champion Yordenis Ugas twice to capture the interim belt by unanimous decision. Barrios followed that up by sending Fabian Maidana to the canvas as well on his way to another dominant decision victory, and was elevated to WBC Welterweight World Champion following the bout. His first defense of the title featured Barrios going toe-to-toe with Abel Ramos in one of 2024’s best fights in action that saw both men score knockdowns and that ultimately ended in a split-draw and Barrios retaining the belt.

Before his run at 147-pounds, Barrios was a world champion at 140-pounds, edging out Batyr Akhmedov in September 2019 with a clutch 12th-round knockdown that sealed his victory on the scorecards. Throughout his career, Barrios’ only two defeats have come against two of the era’s best fighters in five-time, three-division champion Gervonta Davis and former unified welterweight world champion Keith Thurman. Representing his native San Antonio, Texas, Barrios trains in Las Vegas with top trainer Bob Santos.

“Sharing the ring with a legend like Manny Pacquiao is an honor, but once the bell rings, it’s all business,” said Barrios. “I respect everything he’s done in the sport, but on July 19, I’m defending what’s mine. This isn’t just another fight — it’s a legacy fight not just for me but for all the Mexican fans as well. Beating Pacquiao puts my name in a different conversation. Pacquiao is a Hall of Famer for a reason. He’s fast, explosive, and dangerous at all times. But I’m younger, I’m hungrier, and I’m the champion for a reason. I’m coming in with everything I’ve got. Fighting in Vegas is always special, but this event is a truly massive stage and I’m ready to show out for the world.”

**SEBASTIAN FUNDORA VS. TIM TSZYU II**

Two of the top fighters in the stacked 154-pound division, WBC Welterweight World Champion Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora and Australian superstar Tim Tszyu will meet in a 12-round rematch after their first fight saw Tszyu suffer a grisly cut in round three from an inadvertent Fundora elbow. The then WBO 154-pound champion Tszyu chose to fight on instead of bow out due to the cut, eventually losing his title, along with the then-vacant WBC belt, to Fundora by a close decision. On July 19, these two rivals look to settle the score and establish who is number one at 154-pounds.

Fundora (22-1-1, 14 KOs) rocketed to the top of the super welterweight division with that victory over Tszyu, and most recently made a successful title defense in March by knocking out top contender Chordale Booker in round four on Prime Video. A native of Coachella, California, Fundora notably showed his mettle in April 2022, battling the hard-hitting Erickson Lubin in an instant 2022 Fight of the Year contender. Despite both men hitting the canvas, Fundora stood tall in the end, prompting Lubin’s corner to stop the fight at the end of the ninth round. The 27-year-old has defeated a slew of contenders throughout his career, with his only defeat coming to Brian Mendoza in 2023. Fundora represents one of boxing’s most accomplished families, as he is trained by his father Freddy alongside his younger sister, undisputed flyweight world champion Gabriela. The two fighting Fundora’s are the first brother and sister to simultaneously hold world championships.

“I’m more than happy to honor Tim’s rematch clause,” said Fundora. “I expect Tim to be in optimum condition. Fans should expect nothing but a very entertaining violent display.”

After 2024 saw Tszyu (25-2, 18 KOs) lose a second-straight bout to IBF 154-pound champion Bakhram Murtazaliev following the Fundora fight, the 30-year-old recently returned to action in April by stopping young contender Joey Spencer in round four in Australia. Tszyu came into the first Fundora fight off a red-hot 2023 campaign that saw him elevated to world champion at 154-pounds while defeating former world champion Tony Harrison, top contender Brian Mendoza and former title challenger Carlos Ocampo. A native of Sydney, Australia, Tszyu made his U.S debut against U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha in March 2022, earning a unanimous decision. Tszyu grew up playing soccer, but soon gravitated toward boxing. The decision led to him following in the legendary footsteps of his father, Kostya, who was an undisputed 140-pound champion.

“You live for these moments in boxing,” said Tszyu. “I’m blessed to be going through it again — to rewrite the chapter. Even with the bad memories and demons from the first fight, this is what growth means as a human being. I can go through hell and come back on top. This time I’ve got a full 12-week camp focused on Fundora — not a few days’ notice — and I’m bringing that intensity. I’ve got a little place set aside for that green belt. I’m ready to go get it.”

**ISAAC CRUZ VS. ANGEL FIERRO II**

In another greatly anticipated rematch, hard-charging Mexican fan-favorite Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz will step in once again against his power-punching countryman Isaac Fierro as they meet in a 12-round super lightweight rematch. In their first matchup, Cruz and Fierro fought nip-and-tuck over 10 high-octane rounds that saw them combine to throw over 1400 punches, with Cruz taking home the decision. While Cruz out landed Fierro 142 to 113 over the first five rounds, Fierro was stronger in the second half, landing 132 shots to Cruz’s 106.

Buoyed on by his passionate fan base, Cruz (27-3-1, 18 KOs) became a world champion in March 2024 as he hurt Rolly Romero badly in round one before eventually ending the fight in round eight via TKO to claim the WBA title. Most recently, Cruz bounced back from a loss to Jose Valenzuela by out-slugging countryman Fierro in that decision triumph in February. A native of Mexico City, Cruz shot up the rankings in 2020, announcing his presence with an electrifying first-round knockout over veteran Diego Magdaleno in October before adding dominant decisions over Francisco Vargas and Jose Matias Romero. This rise led to the 26-year-old challenging undefeated superstar Gervonta Davis in December 2021, a fight that saw Cruz lose by decision to become just the second fighter at the time to see the final bell against Davis. Trained by his father Isaac Cruz Sr., Cruz also owns stoppage wins over former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa and veteran contender Eduardo Ramirez, in addition to a 12-round decision over the then-unbeaten Giovanni Cabrera.

“I’m looking forward to fighting Angel Fierro again,” said Cruz. “I know that I won the first fight, but I feel that I can do even better this time around. This is going to be more of the Mexican style boxing that fans want to see. I fight for the fans and I can’t wait to give them more action on July 19.”

Originally from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, Fierro (22-3-2, 17 KOs) now fights out of San Diego and has made a name for himself with his aggressive style and power punching prowess. The 26-year-old has fought professionally since 2015 and was undefeated in his first 17 outings. He announced his presence as a world contender in 2021 with a career-best victory as he rose from the canvas to stop former world champion Alberto Machado in round six. Prior to the Cruz fight, Fierro had a three-fight winning streak snapped when he lost a June decision against Alfredo Santiago, with the only other loss of Fierro’s career coming via split-decision in January 2020 against Alex Martin. The February 1 fight against Cruz marked Fierro’s third career fight stateside, and his first since a majority draw against Juan Carlos Burgos in March 2022.

“It is an honor to be fighting at MGM Grand where my idol Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. had so many fights,” said Fierro. “I will honor him by again showing real Mexican style boxing for the world. I feel that I beat ‘Pitbull’ in the first fight and I’m gonna prove it the second time around. I’m coming to win!”

**BRANDON FIGUEROA VS. JOET GONZALEZ**

One of the sport’s premier action fighters, former two-division champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa will return to action against top contender Joet Gonzalez in a 10-round featherweight attraction that will see the winner vaulted back into the world title picture.

The 28-year-old Figueroa (25-2-1, 19 KOs) will look to bounce back after losing his 126-pound title by decision in his February rematch against Stephen Fulton Jr. Figueroa had been elevated to WBC Featherweight World Champion before the fight, after Rey Vargas was declared champion in recess. Figueroa won the Interim WBC Featherweight Title in a 2023 Fight of the Year contender that saw him score a unanimous decision over former champion Mark Magsayo. He returned last May to successfully defend his interim title with a ninth-round knockout of former champion Jessie Magdaleno, increasing his winning streak at the time to three straight. A native of Weslaco, Texas, Figueroa’s relentless pressure and youthful enthusiasm helped him become the first person to defeat former two-division champion Luis Nery in their May 2021 championship clash, as he stopped Nery with a body shot in round seven. Figueroa added to his family’s legacy by capturing the WBC 122-pound world title against Nery, joining his brother Omar Figueroa Jr., who previously held the WBC Lightweight World Championship.

“I’m training in L.A. now with Manny Robles and everything has been going great,” said Figueroa. “I expect a great fight and that I won’t have to look for him to make an exciting fight for the fans. So expect an all-action throwdown. I feel like I owe it to my fans after my last performance. I just want to be more active this year and give the fans more of ‘The Heartbreaker’.”

Fighting out of Los Angeles, Gonzalez (27-4, 15 KOs) returns to the ring after earning a crucial victory over fellow contender Arnold Khegai in March. The 31-year-old turned pro in 2012 with 23 straight victories, earning a world title shot against Shakur Stevenson in 2019 that he would ultimately drop by decision. Gonzalez would go on to challenge for featherweight world titles two more times, losing decisions to Emanuel Navarrete in October 2021 and Luis Alberto Lopez in September 2023. Gonzalez was a sensational and accomplished amateur fighter, with his resume including two victories over Gervonta Davis.

“This is a new opportunity for me and I plan to put on a great fight against a very tough opponent in Brandon Figueroa,” said Gonzalez. “I’m training very hard like I always do and the fans are going to get an exciting fight and a memorable show. We’re both warriors showing up to win that night, so expect fireworks.”

ORLANDO, FL (June 3, 2025) – Boxlab Promotions’ and Kings Promotions undefeated bantamweight prospect, Bree Howling (8-0, 2 KOs), hailing from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is set to square off against fellow unbeaten warrior Naomy Cardenas (8-0, 2 KOs) of Chihuahua, Mexico, in a thrilling 6-round bout. The fight headlines the Most Valuable Prospects 13 card, promoted by MVP, live on DAZN globally from the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Howling, fresh off a rigorous training camp, shared her excitement about the upcoming showdown stating, “This camp’s been a grind, but I’m feeling stronger and sharper than ever. I’ve pushed past limits and learned a ton about myself.

Squaring off against another undefeated fighter, Howling is ready for the challenge. “Naomy’s tough, but I’m tougher,” said Bree. “She’s undefeated for a reason, but so am I. I’m ready to show her and everyone watching that there’s levels to this game. Fans can expect fireworks. I’m coming in hot, aggressive, and with a chip on my shoulder. I’m not leaving it to the judges, that’s for sure.”

LIGHTWEIGHT CONTENDER JUSTIN PAULDO: “I’M TARGETING ANYONE WITH A BELT, BUT FIRST I HAVE TO GO WIN IN SPECTACULAR FASHION!”

HOUSTON – June 3, 2025 – Rising lightweight contender Justin Pauldo will look to push himself closer to a 135-pound world title with an emphatic performance this Saturday, June 7 as he takes on veteran contender Juan Carlos Burgos in the 10-round ProBox TV main event from the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas.

“I’m targeting anyone with a belt,” said Pauldo (18-2, 9 KOs). “But first I have to go win in spectacular fashion. I’m only focused on the fight in front of me. As long as I keep making statements, everyone will demand to see me fight against the top guys. It’s coming soon.”

Managed by Fighters First Management company, Pauldo has risen up the rankings, holding the number 14 spot in the WBC and number 12 in the WBO. In his last outing, Pauldo delivered the biggest victory of his career to date, knocking out the former world champion Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov emphatically in round eight of their February showdown.

“My mentality going into that fight was the same as it always is,” said Pauldo. “I was looking to go in there and do whatever I can to dominate and win in impressive fashion. It was exciting to win like I did against a former champion. It was a great night for my career for sure.”

In earning that career-best victory, Pauldo showed his ability to recover from defeat, getting the big win after a split-decision defeat to Miguel Madueno in February 2024. Prior to Madueno, Pauldo had put together 12-consecutive wins since his first defeat, which came via another split-decision against Efrain Cruz in July 2015. Pauldo has displayed time and again his ability to weather any turbulence that he might run into in his career.

“I’ve been able to bounce back from losses because of my resilience, mental focus and grit,” said Pauldo. “No matter what, if you keep moving forward and keep your head down, you can recover and you’ll be alright. I’ve been able to bounce back from losses and come back stronger. That’s a great attribute I have.”

Pauldo is trained by the legendary Ronnie Shields, along with Pauldo’s brother Daquan Pauldo and Latravia Pierce. With an elite team in his corner, Pauldo continues to show his considerable potential and the steady improvement needed to compete at the top level.

“It’s been a great training camp at Ronnie Shields’ camp in Houston,” said Pauldo. “My team has brought in lots of real hungry, young fighters to help push me in sparring. I’ve been mainly focusing on my fundamentals, while also pushing myself to get better in every area.”

On Saturday night, Pauldo will face the most experienced opponent of his career in Tijuana’s Burgos (36-8-3, 22 KOs). Burgos owns a victory over former world champion Cristobal Cruz and has fought former world champion Roman Martinez and current 140-pound contender Angel Fierro to draws. In addition, he’s gone the distance with current young stars in the sport including Devin Haney, Keyshawn Davis and Andy Cruz.

“I’m expecting a lot of veteran tricks,” said Pauldo. “I know he’s a rough and rugged guy. He’s been in there and fought a lot of top fighters. So I’m expecting him to be an extremely game fighter and hopefully that’ll bring out the best in me.”

As fight night nears, Pauldo expressed his confidence in coming through Saturday night victorious and with his path still set on bigger goals ahead.

“The fans can expect me to go out and deliver a great performance on June 7,” said Pauldo. “I appreciate all of the support and I hope everyone gets to watch me get this win and then rise to the top of the division.”

HEAVYWEIGHTS TAKE CENTER STAGE

Friday’s fight card at Turning Stone Resort Casino is headlined by USBA American heavyweight titlist Brandon Moore (17-1, 10 KOs), who will square off against the undefeated and dangerous Stanley Wright (14-0, 11 KOs). Moore is entering the fight after a victory over previously undefeated Skylar Lacy, while Wright is coming off a major upset victory over previously undefeated heavyweight standout Jeremiah Milton. This clash pits two of the best rising American heavyweights, both eager to carve their names into boxing history.

Moore, a standout from Florida and the 2019 Golden Gloves Champion, showcased his dominance in his last bout, which ended in a disqualification win. Meanwhile, Charlotte’s Wright, fresh off his stunning upset, is poised to seize the moment and challenge Moore’s momentum in this important American heavyweight showdown.

WBC PRESENTS JUNETEENTH BELT

On June 6, boxing history will once again intersect with cultural legacy as Unified Super Middleweight World Champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn (9-2, 2 KOs) puts her titles on the line against rising star and 2024 Mexican Olympian Citlalli Ortiz (4-1, 1 KO). The fighters in this marquee matchup received added incentive last week when the WBC announced the commemorative Juneteenth Freedom Belt. Created in 2021, the WBC Juneteenth Belt, according to the WBC news release, represents more than championship status—it symbolizes the enduring fight for equality, justice, and recognition of African American resilience. The WBC stated that this bout serves not only as a high-stakes clash between two elite athletes but also as a tribute to the legacy of freedom and the ongoing pursuit of human rights. Crews-Dezurn, known as “The Heavy Hitting Diva,” reclaimed her WBC crown in December 2023 by defeating Shadasia Green in a gritty performance that reaffirmed her place among boxing’s elite. Ortiz, a decorated amateur and Olympic competitor, enters the ring hungry to make her mark, coming off a dominant win against Jordanne Garcia. This compelling matchup of experience versus rising talent is more than a title fight—it’s a celebration of heritage, empowerment, and the global evolution of women’s boxing.

Crews-Dezurn Set to Defend WBA Crown Against Citlalli Ortiz

On June 6th, the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, will host a high-stakes showdown in the women’s super middleweight division as WBA world champion Franchón Crews-Dezurn puts her title on the line against rising Mexican contender Citlalli Ortiz.

Crews-Dezurn (9-2, 2 KOs), one of the most respected and battle-tested names in women’s boxing, enters the ring looking to reaffirm her dominance. Known for her ring IQ, grit, and championship mindset, the Baltimore native is coming off a statement win over Shadasia Green—a performance that reminded everyone why she’s queen of the division.

Standing across from her will be Ortiz (4-1, 1 KO), a promising young fighter out of Mexicali, Mexico, who’s looking to make the leap from prospect to champion. Despite having just five pro bouts under her belt, Ortiz has shown poise, skill, and a hunger for greatness. Her recent win over Jordanne Garcia earned her this golden opportunity to shake up the division and etch her name into boxing history.

The bout promises to be a chess match with firepower behind every move. Crews-Dezurn will look to lean on her experience, savvy, and composure, while Ortiz aims to use her speed and fearless energy to pull off the upset. With the WBA world title at stake, there’s no room for hesitation—both fighters know that every inch of the ring matters.

The stage is set for a compelling clash of generations, styles, and ambitions. Come June 6th, we’ll find out if the veteran can hold her ground—or if a new star will rise in the super middleweight ranks.

Reina has been working hard in training camp noting, “Camp has been intense and focused. We’ve been sparring with high-level partners to replicate Salinas’ experience and style. I’m in peak shape physically and mentally.”

Brooklyn Heavyweight Pryce Taylor to honor George Foreman this Friday night at Turning Stone on International Boxing HOF Night

NEW YORK CITY (June 2, 2025) – Undefeated Brooklyn heavyweight prospect Pryce Taylor (7-0, 5 KOs) will honor the late, great Hall of Famer George Foreman this Friday night when he enters the ring to take on Ed Fountain (14-8, 7 KOs) in the event center at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

The 6-round Taylor vs. Fountain match is on the undercard of “International Boxing Hall of Fame Night,” presented by Taylor’s promoter Salita Promotions, and will be headlined by the 10-round IBF USBA Heavyweight Championship match between Brandon Moore and Stanley Wright.

Taylor, 28, will wear a George Foreman T-shirt during his ring walk into the ring. Although he never met Foreman, Taylor feels a connection with “Big George.”

“I didn’t know anything about boxing until I started boxing in 2017,” the former college basketball player Taylor explained. “I looked him up and I want to steal some of his size and power. I really wish I got to meet him before he passed away. I’m going to do right by him in his name for this fight. He beat people up and I’m going to try as hard as I can to do the same in this fight.”

Taylor will face the toughest test of his young professional career in Fountain, whose 14 wins is more than 10 better than any of Taylor’s other opponents to date.

“It’s going to be a great fight,” Taylor said. “He’s a lefty but I’ve been great against southpaws. I know he’s very aggressive; that’s going to get him hurt.”

Because this coming weekend celebrates the induction of the International Boxing of Fame’s Class of 2025 in nearby Canastota, boxing stars from the past, present and future, in addition to many of the leading boxing media members, will be attending Friday evening’s boxing event.

“I can’t wait to show off my skills for all of them,” Taylor added. “It’s just work, though. Whatever comes will come. I just love doing it.”

Taylor had a 60-11 amateur record, including a pair of New York Golden Gloves titles, and he was the heavyweight runner-up four times in the prestigious USA Boxing National Championship tournaments.

“George was an icon in the sport,” commented Taylor’s manager, NYC boxing lawyer Keith Sullivan. “People have compared Pryce’s size, physique and style to that of ‘Big George.’ I am happy he chose to honor him in this fight. On DAZN during Hall of Fame weekend is a great platform for Pryce to showcase his abilities. Salita Promotions has been doing a great job working with me to keep Pryce active and on big cards. I am looking forward to ‘The Pryce is Right’ securing another victory this week in Canastota, New York.”

Sullivan, a former Deputy Commissioner for the NYS Athletic Commission, also manages 3-time, 2-division World Champion Miyo Yoshida (18-5) and Bronx NYPD Officer Nisa Rodriguez (3-1, 1 KO), as well as co-managing world-rated (IBF #3 & WBA #10) welterweight contender Paddy “The Real Deal” Donovan (14-1, 11 KOs), from Limerick, Ireland. Sullivan co-manages Donovan with former world middleweight champion Andy Lee, who is also Donovan’s head trainer.

Mike McCallum, WBA Legend and Master of the Body Shot, Dies at 68

The boxing world is mourning the loss of a true ring craftsman. Mike McCallum — a three-division world champion, Hall of Famer, and the first Jamaican fighter to win a world title — passed away Saturday in Las Vegas at the age of 68.

Nicknamed “The Bodysnatcher” for his ruthless and clinical body attack, McCallum carved out a storied career across three weight classes and became one of the most respected technicians of his era.

McCallum first struck gold on October 19, 1984, when he captured the WBA super welterweight title at the iconic Madison Square Garden, outpointing Ireland’s Sean Mannion over 15 rounds in a masterclass performance.

He continued to make history with the WBA on October 5, 1989, moving up in weight to dethrone Britain’s Herol Graham via split decision at London’s Royal Albert Hall — securing his second world title in a different division.

His third crown came at light heavyweight. After first being named interim champion, McCallum officially claimed the WBC title on July 23, 1994, with a decision win over Australia’s Jeff Harding in Bismarck. A rare three-weight champ in his day, he stood as proof of skill and longevity.

Before turning pro, McCallum won gold at the 1978 Commonwealth Games and represented Jamaica in the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

Beyond titles, his résumé reads like a who’s who of his generation: wins over elite names like Donald Curry, Milton McCrory, and a thunderous KO of Julian Jackson. His trilogy with James Toney remains a benchmark of high-level boxing.

McCallum retired with a record of 49-5-1, with 36 knockouts — and perhaps most impressively, was never stopped in his career. Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2003, his legacy as one of the most intelligent and technical fighters of the 1980s and 90s is secure.

Even after hanging up the gloves, McCallum stayed close to the sport, training fighters and making regular appearances at boxing events in Las Vegas, where he lived and worked.

The World Boxing Association issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over the loss of one of its most iconic champions from the golden decades of the ’80s and ’90s.

Rest in peace to The Bodysnatcher — a true master of the sweet science.

DETROIT (May 30, 2025) – Salita Promotions will present an electrifying night of fights on Friday, June 6, at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY, as part of International Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. This highly anticipated event, titled “Hall of Fame Fight Night,” will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN and is promoted in collaboration with ALL THE SMOKE FIGHT, the dynamic digital content platform led by boxing legend Andre Ward.

The event is headlined by USBA American heavyweight titlist Brandon Moore (17-1, 10 KOs), who will square off against the undefeated Stanley Wright (14-0, 11 KOs). Moore is entering the fight after a victory over previously undefeated Skylar Lacy, while Wright is coming off a major upset victory over previously undefeated heavyweight standout Jeremiah Milton. This clash pits two of the best rising American heavyweights, both eager to carve their names into boxing history.

Ahead of the momentous weekend for boxing and a talent-stacked event on June 6, Salita Promotions President Dmitriy Salita and competitors including Brandon Moore, Franchón Crews-Dezurn, and Joshua James Pagan joined ALL THE SMOKE FIGHT’s AK Reyes for a virtual press conference.

Tickets on sale now at Ticketmaster.

Dmitriy Salita – President of Salita Promotions

“It’s an honor to promote this year’s International Boxing Hall of Fame event—a card that truly reflects the full spectrum of the sport, featuring champions, top contenders, rising prospects, and future Hall of Famers like Franchón Crews, a true pioneer in women’s boxing.”

“I grew up in this sport. Boxing isn’t just my profession it’s my passion. I approach every event and matchup with the enthusiasm of a fan and the passion of a boxer. Having been a fighter signed to some of the biggest promotions and now working as a promoter for over a decade, I’ve gained a unique perspective. I believe that experience, paired with a deep love for the game, gives me the tools to help elevate the sport in new and meaningful ways.”

“We’re in the midst of an exciting transition in boxing, and innovation is key. That’s why we’re trying new things—like partnering with ALL THE SMOKE—to bring fans closer to the stories, personalities, and journeys that define boxing. Our vision is to be inclusive, collaborative, and to grow the sport for the fans and give the best of opportunities to the fighters we promote.”

Brandon Moore – USBA American heavyweight titlist

“This is a humongous opportunity. I’ve been training for this since February. Not that I knew this was coming but I knew an opportunity of any kind would show up. I know this event is going to be big time and there will be lots of legends there, so I am planning on looking sharp and ready to go against Stanley Wright. He just had an upset win against Jeremiah Milton, so I am taking him extremely seriously. Wright is an undefeated fighter, so I need to give him his first L.”

“I’m a bigger sized heavyweight myself, and I’ve fought bigger heavyweights before. Wright will just be another guy in the totem pole. I just need to move my feet, hit him with that jab, and look good doing it. He’s coming to hit hard so I know what he’s coming to do. I just need to stay focused, keep my chin down, and keep hitting him with that jab.”

“June 6 I’m coming in extremely sharp. Of course I want the knockout, I want it badly. But it’s about being sharp and getting the win. I always want the knockout, but the main focus is staying smart. If I do that, the knockouts will come. They always come.”

Franchón Crews-Dezurn – WBC and WBA Unified Super Middleweight World Champion

“I’m from the bottom so I’m not a stranger to hard work and working for what I want. An opportunity came to work with Salita Promotions, and it made sense. As you can see, women’s boxing is coming to the forefront and there are now a lot of women getting great opportunities. Myself as a pioneer, of course I wanted to get into that mix. Salita just signed two more middleweights so there are no shortage of fights for me here.”

“Boxing is my stage. My first love before boxing was music. The way the universe had it, boxing became my stage and platform. But it all works together. I’m a creator. I express myself through music, boxing, and fashion. When I made my professional debut against Claressa Shields, I walked out to my original music and my original outfit.”

“Boxing is life. I take it very seriously because I’m old school. I’m old enough to know, young enough to learn. I don’t play because you can lose your life in boxing. I’m pushing through a lot of things to make the most out of this opportunity.”

Joshua James Pagan – Undefeated lightweight prospect

“There are a lot of great fighters out there in or around my division. There are a few fighters that are on my radar, including Giovanni Marquez. He’s very talented, tough and durable. Floyd Schofield is another fighter I have on my radar. I want to fight them all.”

“It’s a blessing to be fighting on this card. I grew up watching Manny Pacquiao and Michael Nunn. There are a lot of big names being inducted into the hall of fame. I’m excited to show my skillset and hopefully be in their position one day and make it to the hall of fame.”

“Everyone should expect a great performance from me next Friday. I’ve been focused and had a great training camp in Puerto Rico. I’m ready to put it all to good use on June 6.”

“I’m focused on my fight right now against James Bernadin. I can’t overlook him. After this fight, I’ll talk to my team to see what’s next.”

BAM: I WANT TO BE POUND-FOR-POUND NUMBER ONE!

Jesse Rodriguez wants to become the pound-for-pound number one fighter in the sport – and believes that starts by winning his unification showdown with Phumelele Cafu for the WBC, WBO and Ring Magazine Super-Flyweight titles at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas on Saturday July 19, live worldwide on DAZN.

TICKETS FOR BAM VS. CAFU ARE ON SALE NOW VIA SEATGEEK.COM

Rodriguez (21-0 14 KOs) is looking to unify at Super-Flyweight having done so at Flyweight in spectacular fashion against Sunny Edwards in Arizona in December 2023, following that win by collecting the belts he puts on the line against unbeaten South African Cafu (11-0-3 8 KOs) with a stunning KO win over Juan Francisco Estrada in the same state last June to become a two-time Super-Flyweight ruler.

The San Antonio ace fights in his home state for the first time since he became a two-weight World champion April 2023 when he collected the vacant WBO Flyweight strap, and has fought at the Ford Center before, moving to 11-0 there in February 2020.

‘Bam’ has certainly shot to superstardom since that night, but the ambitious 25 year old has more targets in mind, starting with unifying once again on July 19 and looking to become undisputed and climb to the top the list of the best fighters on the planet.

“I would love to be number one pound-for-pound,” said Rodriguez. “There’s a lot of bragging rights being there, and I feel that I can go so far forward from where I am currently at.

“I’m never satisfied, there’s always more to gain and win, so I can go ten times higher from here. I would love to go undisputed, so that’s two more fights at 115lbs, so we’ll see how it pans out.

“It’s bad ass seeing the smaller weights shine. When I was an amateur, it was Chocolatito that was doing it and I was like ‘Damn, this is cool,’ so for me to be in the same position, it means a lot.

“I’m so happy to be fighting in Dallas, it’s great to fight back in my home state, I’m happy to be back home.”

Rodriguez’s clash with Cafu tops a stacked card in Frisco, with the chief support bout of the evening pitting the explosive and unbeaten Diego Pacheco defending his USWBC and WBO International Super-Middleweight titles against Trevor McCumby, while Team USA’s Olympic bronze medal man Omari Jones fights for the third time in the paid ranks, taking on Alfredo Blanco over six rounds, with much more action to be added to the card in due course.

She has continued to build her undefeated record, most recently securing a unanimous decision over Perla Lomeli in November 2024 to defend her female NABF bantamweight title. Tellez will look to keep dominance over Salinas on June 7, following Salinas’ recent losses against Cecilia Nino Rodriguez in Match 2025 and Kenia Stephanie Enriquez in February 2024.

Chaparro landed a sensational first-round KO win in his pro debut on Most Valuable Prospects 6 in April 2024, before scoring a stunning second-round knockout win on the preliminary card of MVP’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024. He also earned a first-round TKO victory on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 9 in Puerto Rico in October 2024. Eric Priest vs. Luis Arias: A Middleweight Clash of Generations

Tonight, under the bright lights of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, rising undefeated prospect Eric Priest will square off against seasoned veteran Luis Arias in a high-stakes showdown for the WBA Continental North America Middleweight Title.

Priest (15-0, 8 KOs) is a slick technician with sharp fundamentals and the ability to adapt under pressure — a rare trait for a 26-year-old still climbing the ranks. This bout represents a key step in his journey, a proving ground to show he’s not just a prospect, but a future contender ready for the big stage.

Standing in his way is Arias (20-4-1, 9 KOs), a battle-hardened warrior with miles on the odometer and a résumé that includes wars with top-tier opposition. Arias knows how to weather storms, turn momentum, and capitalize on the smallest of mistakes. His aggressive style and grit make him a dangerous test for any rising star.

This fight is more than just a title bout — it’s a generational collision, where youth, speed, and precision meet grit, experience, and ring savvy. Priest will aim to dictate the pace with his accuracy and footwork, while Arias will look to drag him into deep waters, force exchanges, and see if the young gun can handle the heat.

One fighter is chasing his breakout moment. The other is fighting to prove he’s still a factor in the middleweight landscape. May 30 will deliver answers — the kind that only come inside the ropes.

Yoenli Hernández Set to Defend WBA Continental Latin America Title Against Kyrone Davis in Las Vegas

This May 31, the spotlight returns to the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, where Cuban rising star Yoenli Hernández will put his WBA Continental Latin America Middleweight Title on the line against the battle-tested Kyrone Davis in a showdown that promises fireworks.

Hernández (7-0, 7 KOs) has been nothing short of sensational since turning pro. The undefeated Cuban slugger brings a perfect knockout record into the ring, showcasing concussive power and relentless pressure that has overwhelmed every opponent he’s faced. In his most recent outing, Hernández dismantled Ángel Ruiz Astorga with a fifth-round TKO, further cementing his status as one of the division’s hottest prospects.

Across the ring stands Davis (19-3-1, 6 KOs), a gritty and seasoned American contender who’s been in with the best, including a tough battle against former world champion David Benavidez. Davis boasts solid ring IQ, technical skill, and the kind of experience that could pose a real test for the still-developing Hernández.

Expect a clash of styles: Hernández will look to impose his power early, while Davis may try to drag the fight into deep waters, using movement, angles, and grit to frustrate the Cuban phenom.

With high stakes and contrasting arsenals, this bout could steal the show on fight night.

WBA Future of Colombian Boxing Returns June 7 with Action-Packed Card in Barranquilla

The WBA Future program is back with another exciting night of boxing scheduled for Saturday, June 7, in Barranquilla, Colombia. The event will feature nine professional bouts and an amateur showdown between regional teams from Atlántico and Magdalena. The action will unfold at Cuadrilátero Élite Gym and will be streamed live on the World Boxing Association’s official YouTube channel.

One of the main attractions of the evening will be the return of Yeni Marcela Arias, former world title challenger and standout of the Colombian women’s national team. Arias is set to headline the amateur segment before the spotlight shifts to the pro ranks later in the card.

The professional slate includes a compelling clash between two promising prospects: Orlando Pérez Jr. of San Onofre will face off against Miguel Bolaños from Soledad. Both fighters are hungry, unbeaten, and know that a win here could push them one step closer to national recognition and beyond.

Magdalena’s boxing federation has confirmed it will send a squad of seven fighters to take on the home team from Atlántico. This cross-regional matchup promises to be a showcase of Colombia’s emerging boxing talent and a key development opportunity for young fighters looking to make their mark.

The live stream kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time (U.S.), and organizers are teasing a few surprises for fans tuning in online.

VIDEO: FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE | Plant vs. Resendiz & Charlo vs. LaManna

PLANT VS. RESENDIZ & CHARLO VS. LAMANNA FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

LAS VEGAS – May 29, 2025 – Super middleweight stars Caleb Plant and Jermall Charlo previewed their respective co-headlining showdowns at Thursday’s final press conference ahead of PBC Championship Boxing on Prime Video this Saturday, May 31 from Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Plant will step in against Mexican knockout artist Armando Reséndiz, while Charlo faces veteran contender Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna on the four-fight card that streams exclusively on Prime Video for all Prime members in the United States and select countries.

The press conference also featured top middleweight contenders Yoenli Feliciano Hernandez and Kyrone “Shut It Down” Davis, who duel in a 10-round showdown, plus rising contender Isaac “La Bestia” Lucero and hard-hitting Omar Valenzuela, who match up in a super welterweight attraction that opens the streaming presentation at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Tickets for the live event are on sale now through AXS.com.

Here is what the fighters had to say Thursday from Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino:

CALEB PLANT

“It feels good to be back on the big stage. My team put in a lot of work and left no stone unturned and that’s gonna show on Saturday.

“I’m looking to put on a show. This is a big moment for Armando, but it’s big for me too. I have a lot on the line. He may have nothing to lose, but I’ve got everything to lose. I sacrificed a lot and you’re gonna see it in the ring.

“I’m a competitor and I’m a winner. I’ve been a winner my whole life. Regardless of whatever I’ve done, that’s not what wakes me up in the morning.

“At this point in my career, I’m a complete fighter. Whether its inside, outside or midrange, I have great legs and great feet. Whatever he decides to do, we’ll be right there with him, but levels above. We’re gonna show him there’s levels to this.

“Experience plays a big factor in every fight and that’s something that I’ve had. I’ve faced the best in the sport. I’m the biggest and baddest dude he’s ever fought.

“You’re gonna be hearing ‘And still’, and it’s gonna be in impressive fashion. So make sure you tune in.”

ARMANDO RESENDIZ

“This has me so motivated and happy that I can’t even express how excited I am. My team has gone above and beyond and I’m feeling like the best version of myself.

“I don’t care what Caleb says. I’m just focused on myself. I’m gonna speak with my fists when that bell rings.

“Caleb is right that I have nothing to lose. But I have a lot to fight for too. I just announced yesterday that I’m gonna be a father for the first time. So I’m fighting for more than just myself.

“I’m going to listen to my corner, be disciplined and do whatever it takes to win. I know what I have to do in order to get the victory.

“The fight will show me how I have to approach Caleb. I have a lot of strategies past plan A. If I have to be in a brawl, I will. All that matters is that I get the win.

“He’s the toughest opponent of my life and that motivates me. I want to represent my people and give everyone a great show. I can’t wait for Saturday night.”

JERMALL CHARLO

“If he makes the wrong move, makes a miscalculation, or gets just a little too close, then I’m gonna knock his ass clean out.

“I feel the energy and the energy is great right now. I’m thankful to my whole team that’s stood by me. I’m ready to showcase my talent and give you all the old Jermall Charlo.

“Las Vegas is like a second home to me. I’ve got a lot of friends and family here and I’m happy to be back. There’s no other place like Las Vegas.

“I’m moving up to 168 because the competition is better. I’m not overlooking LaManna, but there are other fighters I can face in this division that would solidify my legacy. But right now I’m focused on getting wins and getting to the next level. I’m always learning and enjoying the sport.

“I don’t know if he’s trying to intimidate me. I wouldn’t expect nothing less than for him to be locked in. He knows who he’s up against.”

THOMAS LAMANNA

“This is my last opportunity at greatness. It’s been a long journey for me and now I get to test my skills against a two-division world champion. Come Saturday night, we’re gonna shock the world.

“I know the show is based around Caleb and Jermall, but I’m here to do my part. I’m gonna upset the apple cart. Let’s let these fights happen.

“I’m real locked in. I know what I’m up against, so I had to train my ass off. I’ve been training like that for six months.

“Every fighter when you turn pro wants to fight in Las Vegas. Seeing my picture on the billboards is an honor. It means everything to me.

“I’m gonna shock the world by any means. That’s the only thing we’re coming to do.”

YOENLI FELICIANO HERNANDEZ

“This is one of the biggest cards of the year and I can’t wait to perform. I’m here to win, there’s nothing else.

“I’m not gonna underestimate anybody. I’m ready for any challenge that comes my way. Let’s see what he’s capable of. I hope he can withstand what I’m bringing.

“I’m prepared for what’s coming my way. I’m excited to perform and show everyone what I’m capable of.

“There’s gonna be an easy knockout coming. I don’t know what round it’ll be in, but I know that I’m getting the knockout.”

KYRONE DAVIS

“I’m coming here to put on a show. I’m used to being in this position, so being the underdog is not a big deal to me.

“Hernandez is good and that’s what we wanted. We want to face the best and that’s what we’re gonna keep doing until I get my shot at the title. Enjoy the fireworks on Saturday night.

“What he’s talking about now doesn’t matter. If he has what it takes, he’ll have what it takes. I’ve faced a lot of great fighters. I know he’s gonna give it his all, but we’ll see if it’s enough.

“There is a lot that’s gonna go into me winning this fight. I don’t care about what he’s done or where he’s from. You don’t win fights on paper. All that matters is what happens when that bell rings.

ISAAC LUCERO

“I’m so excited that we were able to make this fight happen. I can’t wait for people to get to know what I’m capable of.

“I have prepared better than I ever have in my life for this fight, and I hope Omar is equally prepared so that we can give the fans the action they deserve. We’re coming to steal the show.

“There’s gonna be dynamite in the ring on Saturday night because I’m gonna knock this guy out. That’s what I’m coming to do.

“Bob Santos is such a pro and he’s instilled so many things in me both inside and outside of the gym. He preaches about how discipline is key and that’s something that I’ve loved to experience throughout training camp. I’m going to use that to win on Saturday.”

OMAR VALENZUELA

“I’m very thankful to be here and pumped up for this opportunity. I’m glad that everyone is going to see this great performance on Saturday night.

“Las Vegas has been home to many memorable bouts and you’re gonna get another one on Saturday. It’s gonna be two Mexican fighters going hand to hand until someone wins. He’s got nowhere to hide.

“We’re both gonna give it our all, but I’m gonna come out with my hand raised. There’s no doubt about it.

“I know that Lucero comes into the ring well prepared. I’m gonna face this challenge head on and be ready for whatever comes my way.”

TOM BROWN, President of TGB Promotions

“I’m really excited about this card. I’ve always said that I love promoting these events at Michelob ULTRA Arena. We’re thrilled to have this event on Prime Video, we’ve had a great partnership and will have more big fights announced coming up this summer.

“Make sure you get out to the arena early because we have a great card from top to bottom. This is a tremendous event, so make sure you get your tickets. It’s another great night in the Fight Capital of the World, Las Vegas, Nevada.”
