BARRETT: I’VE UNDERACHIEVED IF I’VE NOT BECOME A WORLD CHAMPION

Manchester Super-Featherweight contender Zelfa Barrett hopes that a win over Liverpool rival Jazza Dickens this Saturday at Co-op Live, shown live worldwide on DAZN, will springboard him towards a second shot at world honours in the 130 lbs division.

The 31-year-old came up short when he challenged Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov for the IBF crown at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi back in November 2022, succumbing to a ninth-round stoppage at the hands of the Tajikistan fighter after a valiant effort.

‘Brown Flash’ (31-2, 17 KOs) bounced back from the second loss of his career with three straight wins, most recently stopping Jordan Gill in ten rounds at Manchester Arena last April, and the Man United fanatic believes he is one win away from a second World Title shot.

“Being a World Champion, for me, that’s the end goal,” said Barrett. “I’ve underachieved if I’ve not become a World Champion. Being English Champion, Commonwealth Champion, European Champion – some fighters don’t ever achieve this. Their limit is the British. They’ll get to the European level and get beat. I boxed for the World Title. This is my journey and you’re just a fighter on it, in the way of where I need to be.

“Boxing is a about how good you are, not how many tickets you can sell. When you’re a world class fighter, it’s about how good you are. I’m not a benchwarmer. I’m not an Ole Gunnar Solskjær, where you come on in injury time and you score. I’m starting. I’m Thierry Henry. I’m Drogba. I’m that guy. In my weight, at 130 lbs, the best of me beats anyone.

“I just need the opportunity. That’s all I need. I’ve just got to keep winning. I’ve got to brutally win, whether it’s a boxing lesson or a knockout. When it gets this close to the fight, my fuse gets shorter and I’m more locked in and more focused. I don’t really laugh. It’s serious – this is my life. As my Uncle Pat would say, it’s as serious as a heart attack. I’m just focused.”

Former British and European Welterweight Champion Pat ‘Black Flash’ Barrett will be in his nephew’s corner once more for his 34th fight in the professional ranks, and the renowned former World Title challenger isn’t taking the challenge of Dickens lightly.

“Zelfa has been boxing as a pro for over a decade. Most fighters you see come and go after so long. But for ten years strong he’s still going strong. He’s still waiting to get this World Title fight. It’s way overdue.

“Jazza is not to be overlooked. We’re definitely not overlooking him. It’s a really good fight for Zelfa. It’s a fight that is keeping him up there, rather than thinking he’s just got some opponent. Jazza isn’t just an opponent. I just know what we do going into something 150% – physically and mentally ready – that will take us to where we want to go.”

Barrett vs. Dickens is part of a huge night of boxing in Manchester, Chorley’s JackCatterall (30-1, 13 KOs) takes on undefeated American Arnold Barboza Jr (31-0, 11 KOs) for the interim WBO Super-Lightweight World Title, Watford’s ReeceBellotti (19-5, 14 KOs) defends his British and Commonwealth Super-Featherweight Titles against Manchester’s Michael GomezJr (21-1, 6 KOs) in a highly-anticipated grudge match, PatMcCormack (6-0, 4 KOs) steps up as he defends his WBA Intercontinental Welterweight Title against Liverpool’s former British, Commonwealth and European Champion Robbie Davies Jr (24-5, 15 KOs), Manchester Light-Heavyweight Conner Tudsbury makes his professional debut against Belgium’s Sadaam Moamed Da Silva Caetano, Oldham’s Aqib Fiaz (12-1, 1 KO) returns at Lightweight against Malta’s Lydon Chircop (7-2, 4 KOs) over six rounds, Manchester Super-Welterweight powerhouse William Crolla (6-0, 5 KOs) faces Spain’s Ayoub Zakari (5-7-1) over six rounds and Manchester Featherweight AlfieMiddlemiss (1-0) kicks off the Before The Bell action in a four round fight with Middlesborough’s Caine Singh (1-5-2).

UFC® 236 FIGHT BETWEEN ISRAEL ADESANYA AND KELVIN GASTELUM TO BE INDUCTED INTO UFC HALL OF FAME

Las Vegas – UFC® today announced that the classic 2019 fight between middleweights Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame’s Fight Wing as a part of the class of 2025. The 2025 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place this summer in Las Vegas and will be streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS®.

“The fight between Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236 was one of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen in my life,” said UFC President & CEO Dana White. “This was an absolute war with the interim title on the line. Congrats to Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum on a fight that will always be remembered!”

As the co-main event of UFC® 236: HOLLOWAY vs. POIRIER 2, which took place on April 19, 2019, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, both Adesanya and Gastelum entered the event for the interim middleweight title on winning streaks of 16 and two, respectively.

Adesanya entered the Octagon with an undefeated 16-0 record (5-0 UFC), having most recently secured a win over former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Gastelum entered the bout with a 17-3,1 NC record (10-3,1 NC UFC) and previous wins over UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping, former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman, former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks, former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nate Marquardt, and former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

Both athletes quickly advanced to the center of the Octagon, exchanging a series of kicks and punches to begin the first round. With 2:52 seconds remaining in the first, Gastelum landed a right hook that sent Adesanya to the fence, securing the first major interaction of the fight and taking control of the remainder of the round.

Adesanya took control of round two, landing a series of kicks and body punches, creating separation with his reach advantage. Gastelum landed a powerful right jab with 3:20 left in the second, as both fighters engaged at a rapid pace in proximity. Gastelum would continue to apply pressure as the aggressor, forcing Adesanya to the fence and around the perimeter of the Octagon with a barrage of punches. Adesanya would connect with an overhand right with 2:14 remaining in the round, knocking Gastelum down and inflicting his first damage of the fight. Adesanya would control the rest of the round, flooring Gastelum a second time in the round with a reverse elbow and evening the score at one round each. Adesanya continued to dictate the action throughout round three, leading the continuous exchange of jabs, low kicks and knees to the body.

Gastelum charged Adesanya to open the fourth round, picking up the pace and initiating exchanges in the center of the Octagon. Adesanya secured a knee to the body 40 seconds into the round, followed by a right hook to take early control. Both fighters continued to trade punches, standing toe-to-toe while moving around the inner circle of the Octagon. Adesanya stunned Gastelum with a right jab with one minute remaining, but he responded with a high left kick that stunned Israel, allowing Kelvin to apply pressure near the fence to close the round.

Adesanya, with his face visibly swollen and a cut over his eye, stood tall at the beginning of the fifth, with the cameras capturing him talking to Gastelum across the Octagon, as the sold-out crowd cheered with anticipation for the start of the final round.

The excitement continued into round five with both fighters giving everything they had to secure the interim title. Both fighters continued to exchange punches and kicks in close quarters, with Adesanya attempting a guillotine 90 seconds into the round, landing a quick takedown with Gastelum rolling out and into a mounted position on top of him. Adesanya attempted to secure a triangle off his back, but Gastelum slipped out and both fighters stood to their feet as the entire crowd gave them a huge ovation with three minutes remaining.

Gastelum continued to swing wildly, but Adesanya, now in control, evaded the onslaught and countered each attack with a strike of his own. Adesanya stunned Gastelum with a straight right with 2:20 minutes left, slowing his momentum and reestablishing his reach advantage. Gastelum continued to apply pressure, but Adesanya evaded all attacks and continued to counter, securing a knockdown with one minute left in the round. Adesanya landed several elbows and punches to close out the round, knocking down a bloodied Gastelum with 25 seconds left and closing the fight in full mounted position.

Adesanya scored three knockdowns in the round, the most-ever landed in the fifth round of a UFC title fight. His four overall knockdowns were also the most ever in a UFC title fight.

Adesanya won the fight via unanimous decision, becoming the new interim UFC middleweight champion. He would unify the middleweight title six months later by defeating Robert Whittaker via second round KO in the main event of UFC® 243: WHITTAKER vs. ADESANYA, which took place on October 6, 2019, at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.

The bout won several awards, including Fight of the Year honors from MMA Junkie and MMA Fighting

FORMER UNIFIED CHAMPION JARRETT HURD & RISING SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT JONATHAN LOPEZ HIGHLIGHT PBC ON PRIME VIDEO LINEUP IN SEPARATE ATTRACTIONS ON SATURDAY, MARCH 1 FROM BARCLAYS CENTER IN BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN – February 7, 2025 – A former unified world champion and a fast-rising top contender at 130-pounds will step into the ring in separate attractions featured on a two-fight PBC on Prime Video show taking place Saturday, March 1 and leading up to the PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video headlined by boxing superstar Gervonta “Tank” Davis defending his WBA Lightweight World Championship against unbeaten WBA Super Featherweight World Champion Lamont Roach from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The live-streaming of prelims action will begin at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT and be available via free access to all fans, regardless of Prime membership or purchase of the PPV card it leads into.

The streaming presentation is topped by former unified 154-pound world champion “Swift” Jarrett Hurd taking on hard-hitting Johan Gonzalez in a 10-round middleweight affair, plus undefeated rising super featherweight contender Jonathan “La Roca” Lopez faces U.K. contender Alex Dilmaghani for a 10-round fight.

These fights lead into a stacked PBC Pay-Per-View event on Prime Video that features four title showdowns as PPV undercard matchups will see WBA Super Lightweight World Champion José “Rayo” Valenzuela take on hard-hitting top contender Gary Antuanne Russell in the co-main event, WBC Super Lightweight World Champion Alberto Puello defending his title against top-rated mandatory challenger Sandor Martín, and rising star Yoenis Téllez facing former unified world champion Julian “J-Rock” Williams for the Interim WBA Super Welterweight Title to kick off the pay-per-view at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

In addition to the PPV being available for purchase on Prime Video in the US, UK and Canada — regardless of Prime membership — fans will also be able to continue to access the telecast through traditional cable and satellite outlets as well as PPV.com.

Tickets for the live event are on sale now and through ticketmaster.com. The event is promoted by GTD Promotions and TGB Promotions.

“PBC on Prime Video is once again set for a night of nonstop fireworks with the addition of these two exciting clashes leading into the pay-per-view,” said Tom Brown, President of TGB Promotions. “Jarrett Hurd is no stranger to delivering a Fight of the Year, and he will bring his toe-to-toe style into the ring against another power-puncher in Johan Gonzalez. Adding in the fast-rising contender Jonathan Lopez taking on Alex Dilmaghani to open up prelims and this card shapes up to be another night filled with explosive battles.”

**JARRETT HURD VS. JOHAN GONZALEZ**

One of this era’s most acclaimed action fighters, “Swift” Jarrett Hurd will look for a key victory on his path toward another world title run when he takes on the hard-hitting veteran Johan Gonzalez in the 10-round middleweight matchup that headlines the streaming presentation on Prime Video.

The 34-year-old Hurd (25-3-1, 17 KOs) unified the WBA and IBF 154-pound titles in 2018, dropping longtime champion Erislandy Lara in the final round to win a close decision in a fight that was the consensus 2018 Fight of the Year. The Accokeek, Md., native would go on to lose the titles in one of 2019’s best fights, dropping a decision to Julian Williams. Hurd first became champion in February 2017 when he stopped former champion Tony Harrison in the ninth round, before defending the title against another former champion in Austin Trout. Hurd most recently fought former unified champion Jeison Rosario to a draw last August and will enter the ring at Barclays Center for the fourth time as a pro, having scored three previous victories at the venue.

“I’ve been working hard as ever to end my career the right way, back on top where I belong,” said Hurd. “Everyone knows what I bring to the ring, so make sure you tune in March 1 or come out to Barclays Center, because I’m going in there to make a statement.”

A native of Valencia, Venezuela who now trains in Las Vegas, Gonzalez (34-4, 33 KOs) will look to bounce back after most recently dropping an October showdown with rising star Yoenis Tellez on Prime Video. He had previously recovered from a May 2024 defeat against top super welterweight contender Jesus Ramos by stopping Ivan Herrera in two rounds in August of last year. Gonzalez made his stateside debut in 2023, earning a pair of victories in the U.S. by first stopping Ricardo Ruben Villalba in August before defeating Guido Emmanuel Schramm in November. The 33-year-old won those fights following a close 2022 decision defeat to former world title challenger Magomed Kurbanov. A pro since 2017, Gonzalez won his first 22 bouts before dropping a split decision in 2018.

“I’m very thankful to my team for this opportunity on March 1,” said Gonzalez. “I’m not focusing on my opponent, just on being the best Johan Gonzalez. I have to demonstrate my skills. Nothing else matters.”

**JONATHAN LOPEZ VS. ALEX DILMAGHANI**

Trained by the renowned Eddy Reynoso, the 21-year-old Jonathan “La Roca” Lopez has shown the skills to become a future world champion and looks to take down another tough test in the experienced U.K. contender Alex Dilmaghani as they tussle in a 10-round super featherweight clash.

Residing in Orlando, Florida, Lopez (17-0, 12 KOs) turned pro in 2020 following an impressive amateur career and will enter this fight having stopped 10 of his last 12 opponents. Lopez most recently dominated contender Richard Medina last September on his way to earning a unanimous decision that he highlighted by scoring a final round knockdown. He earned a then career-best victory in June 2023 and went 10 rounds for the first time as he bested former title challenger Eduardo Baez via a wide unanimous decision leading into his three-victory 2024 campaign.

“I’m super excited to be back in the ring,” said Lopez. “And I’m very grateful to everyone who made this possible. This is a perfect opportunity for me to showcase my talent and skills on a fight of this magnitude. I have to show everyone that my time is now.”

A native of Manchester, United Kingdom, Dilmaghani (20-3-1, 7 KOs) will fight stateside for the second time as a pro on March 1, after most recently dropping a June 2024 battle to Rene Tellez Giron. The 33-year-old has competed professionally since 2009, always taking on tough competition while fighting in Mexico, Canada, France and Denmark, in addition to his native U.K. He also owns a majority draw against former world title challenger Francisco Fonseca in November 2019 and has won two of his last three bouts.

“I can’t wait to step into the ring on March 1 and show everyone the best version of myself,” said Dilmaghani. “If people are sleeping on me, they’re going to be surprised, because I’m training hard to make sure I steal the show when that bell rings. I’m definitely coming to make the most of this opportunity.”

Keyshawn Davis: “I’m Ready to Put On a Show!”

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 7, 2025) — “The Businessman” is ready to get down to the business of capturing a world title.

Keyshawn Davis, the latest fighting sensation from Norfolk, Virginia, will challenge undefeated Ukrainian and fellow Olympic silver medalist Denys Berinchyk for the WBO lightweight world title on Friday, Feb. 14, at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Berinchyk-Keyshawn headlines an ESPN-televised tripleheader that features Xander Zayas (20-0, 12 KOs) taking on fellow unbeaten Slawa Spomer (20-0, 11 KOs) in the 10-round co-feature.

New Jersey-born middleweight Vito “White Magic” Mielnicki Jr. (20-1, 12 KOs) will open the broadcast in a 10-rounder versus Connor “The Kid” Coyle (21-0, 9 KOs).

Berinchyk-Keyshawn, Zayas-Spomer, and Mielnicki-Coyle will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Promoted by Top Rank, in association with K2 Promotions and Queensberry Promotions, tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster.com

Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) transitioned from Tokyo Olympic silver medalist to elite contender in quick fashion, emerging as one of the sport’s brightest young stars. In February 2024, he dismantled two-division world champion Jose Pedraza over six one-sided rounds. Davis outclassed Mexican puncher Miguel Madueño across 10 in July and closed out the year with a statement-making second-round knockout of Gustavo Lemos in front of a sold-out hometown crowd at Scope Arena. Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs), who captured his silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics, shook up the division last May by vanquishing Emanuel Navarrete via split decision to claim the vacant WBO lightweight crown.

Following a recent training session in Las Vegas, this is what Davis said:

“I’m very excited. Madison Square Garden. New York City, that’s my second home. I have family out there, so I’m ready to turn up for them. Madison Square Garden is legendary. And now that I’m fighting for my first world title there, it means even more.”

“He’s undefeated, and nobody wants to lose their unbeaten record. He’s coming off his biggest win, which was against Emanuel Navarrete. He also has a lot more experience than I do. And this isn’t for a vacant title. I have to take it from him.”

“I’ve never fought his style of boxing as a professional. It’s something new to me in professional boxing. But, if you liked my last fight, you’ll be in for the same treat, a magnificent performance, a hell of a showdown, and something you can’t miss.”

“I feel super strong. I feel motivated. I feel locked in. Nothing can steer me away from my goal of becoming a world champion on February 14. I feel great, and I’m ready to put on a show.”

“I can only think about my world title. But depending on how crazy I knock Berinchyk out, I’m going to be one of those big names that people are going to want to get in the ring with. I’d be putting myself down if I talk about fighting ‘big names’ because I can become one of those big names on February 14.”

Carlos “El Gallo” Gonzalez Enters the Spotlight

SPRINGFIELD, MA – There will be a new face on the scene at Mohegan Sun Arena on February 15, when Carlos “El Gallo” Gonzalez (14-0, 13 KOs) defends his NABA Featherweight Championship against upset specialist Alex Espinoza (23-6-2, 8 KOs) in a 10-round contest.

The bout co-headlines CES Boxing’s “Love and War”, a stacked pro-am show that will be televised live worldwide on DAZN

Tickets for ‘Love and War’ start at $77 and are going fast.  Purchase yours now at CESfights.comTicketMaster, or the Mohegan Sun Box Office.  Doors open at 4pm, with the first amateur bout scheduled for 5pm.

Few people realize how many lives boxing saves.  In Carlos Gonzalez’s case, boxing entered his life only 2 and a half years ago when he was going through a difficult time.

“A series of things happened in my life that I’m dealing with to this day,” admits the Springfield native of Puerto Rican descent.  “I’m fighting a case and I don’t know whether or not I’ll end up going away, but I hope I don’t by the grace of God.”

The incident marked a turning point in Carlos’ life, and when he didn’t know where to turn, boxing became his refuge.

“When I caught the case in 2022, I just didn’t know where to go to,” confesses Gonzalez. “I was always athletic, and my sister’s husband, who I consider my older brother, was always drilling into my head that I should start boxing.  I’m good at a lot of sports, so in April 2022, I walked into a gym, laced up gloves for the first time and I haven’t looked back since.  I’ve been training 3 times a day, every day.”

The sweet science provided the then 25-year-old with not just a distraction from his troubles, but the realization that boxing was something he was naturally good at.  However, talent alone was not going to make up for the fact that ‘El Gallo’ was a novice in a sport that many take up when they’re very young.

“I never fought amateur, so my coach has me sparring a lot of people who are at a world class level,” says Gonzalez, who trains out of Springfield alongside junior middleweight prospect Anthony ‘ATV’ Velasquez.  “I spar with them every day to make up for my lack of amateur experience.”

What Carlos found out early on is that he has a lot of natural power, winning his first 7 fights by knockout.

“I always felt that I had power, but I didn’t know for sure until I started boxing,” says El Gallo, who also quickly realized that to become a world champion, power alone was not going to be enough.  “When I started boxing, people just said ‘Oh, he’s strong, but he only has power,’ so I take pride in developing my boxing skills.  I don’t just have power. I have good defense and I have tremendous footwork from playing basketball and baseball my whole life.”

Adding boxing skills to his devastating power, Gonzalez amassed a record of 14-0 with 13 knockouts and set himself up for a NABA title shot, which came last September against fellow Massachusetts prospect Duke Micah.  All of Gonzalez’s work came together in that fight, as the Puerto Rican dominated Micah for 7 rounds before stopping the Worcester resident in round 8. A stay busy first round knockout in December brings us to the present, where Gonzalez is preparing to defend his title against tough Nicaraguan Alex Espinoza.

“Training is going amazing,” said Gonzalez last week at the ‘Love and War’ press conference at Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den. “I train as if I’m about to fight God, so it doesn’t really matter who’s across the ring from me.  I’m laser focused and grateful to be here.”

In Espinoza, Gonzalez will be facing a seasoned veteran who has shared the ring with the likes of former world champion Andrew Moloney and highly regarded prospect Peter McGrail.  The Nicaraguan is currently on a 2-fight winning streak, besting previously undefeated Mexican prospect Gustavo Rio last May.

“I watched his victory over Gustavo Rio, which was an upset,” notes Gonzalez when asked to assess his opponent.  “I know that he’s real game.  He can fight. He’s a tough guy and I’m looking to test my skills against him.  I guarantee you I’m going to bring it to him, and he’s Nicaraguan, so I know he’s going to bring it to me. May the best man win.”

If all goes according to plan on February 15, Gonzalez hopes to keep marching forward, setting an example for young people who, like him, have faced tough times and can be inspired by seeing someone turn his life around.

“I’m just trying to change my life and give young kids and even people my age hope,” says Gonzalez. “I’m letting them know that it’s never too late for you to do something you want to do.  Put your right foot forward and take the first step.  That’s it.  All you got to worry about is putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.”

Before you know it, you could be defending a championship title in front of thousands of fans at Mohegan Sun Arena like ‘El Gallo’.

VIDEO: Face Off: Jack Catterall Vs Arnold Barboza With Eddie Hearn

CATTERALL VS. BARBOZA JR LIVE FACE OFF QUOTES

Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman:

“Welcome everybody to Manchester ahead of what is a brilliant night of boxing next Saturday, the 15th of February, at the Co-op Live in Manchester – live and exclusive around the world on DAZN. For me, one of the best match-ups at 140 lbs.

“The man that should be undisputed – Jack Catterall. No question, one of Britain’s pound-for-pound top fighters right now. Coming off four huge headline events and victories. Jorge Linares, Josh Taylor, Regis Prograis to name a few, and now into potentially the most important fight of his career for this – the WBO interim World Championship.

“Against the man to my left, 31-0, Arnold Barboza Jr. It’s the number one and number two in the world rankings. The man that could be king after this fight. We wanted to do something a little bit different for you tonight.

“Next week will be electric, not just with this fight but an unbelievable undercard in Manchester. The bad blood fight between Reece Bellotti and Michael Gomez Jr for the British and Commonwealth Championships. The step-up for Pat McCormack against Liverpool’s Robbie Davies Jr. Zelfa Barrett from Manchester will fight Jazza Dickens, and so much more.

“This is the fight that they are talking about as potentially one of the best in the division. Not just a great run of form for Jack Catterall, but this man (Barboza Jr) coming off victory in Saudi Arabia against Jose Ramirez. He believes he has the tools to beat Jack Catterall – one of the most in-form fighters at 140 lbs.”

Jack Catterall:

“Of course I respect his ability. Again, he’s said it before, he’s been working hard to get to this position. I’ll stand on what I said – I don’t think he’s a great fighter. I think he’s average, a B class fighter. I can only think of two opponents that he’s boxed. Sean McComb, who beat him, and Ramirez – who I didn’t think was in the best form that night. None the less, give him his credit, he turned up and did what he had to do. It’s a whole different ball game next weekend.

“We’ve watched tape of him and we’ve been studying. We’ve been working hard in the gym and every fight now I feel like we’ve been getting better, with the activity of these big headline fights. I’ll see what happens on fight night. Until the first bell goes, and I see his response, this is a big opportunity, not just for me but for both of us. I’m not leaving it to the judges next Saturday. I believe I stop him, 100%.

“You’ve never seen 12 rounds and you’re not going to see the 12 round distance next Saturday. I think he knows what he’s up against. Listen, we don’t get to this stage in these big fights by overlooking the opponents. I think he’s in for a shock next Saturday. I’m in good form. We got straight back in the gym after the Prograis fight and we’ve been grafting. Things have gone great this camp and I’m going to show it next Saturday. I respect what you’ve done in your journey to get here but it all ends next Saturday.”

Arnold Barboza Jr:

“I’ve been calling for this fight since 2022 when I met him at the Ramirez and Taylor fight. That’s where we met. This is a great opportunity. All of his home support booing me is going to turn me on. It’s something that I’ve dreamed about. This is a fight that I’ve been waiting for my whole career. I worked hard to get here – just like him. Let’s get it on.

“I feel like my whole career I’ve been the underdog. Even when I’m the favourite, I feel like I’ve been overlooked my whole career. People are finally starting to see who Barboza really is. Come February 15th my hand will be raised and that belt will be coming home with me.

“I’m an overall better fighter than him. He calls me a B level fighter but the only thing special about him is that he’s hefty. That’s it. We’ll find out. We can talk and do all that but February 15th is when we will find out. It’s around the corner.

“He can say Ramirez is past his best and I can say the same thing about the last three victories he just had. Linares retired after their fight, Regis was going to retire after their fight. Josh Taylor had a messed up knee. He can say all he wants, I don’t think he’s ever faced anyone like me. He’s going to find out February 15th.

“He doesn’t win this fight inside the distance. He doesn’t win this fight; it’s that simple. If there’s going to be a stoppage it’s going to be me stopping him. We’re going to see. I’m overall better than him at everything. The only thing that makes you different is you’re a lefty, that’s it, you’re average bro. My condition is top notch. You’ll see.

“People don’t know what they’re going to get when it comes to me because I can do it all. He’s going to find out. I can stay, I can brawl and I can box. You’re going to see what a hype job you are, you’re average bro. I’m going to make you look average.”

Catterall vs. Barboza Jr tops a huge night of boxing in Manchester, Watford’s ReeceBellotti (19-5, 14 KOs) defends his British and Commonwealth Super-Featherweight Titles against Manchester’s Michael GomezJr (21-1, 6 KOs) in a highly-anticipated grudge match, PatMcCormack (6-0, 4 KOs) steps up as he defends his WBA Intercontinental Welterweight Title against Liverpool’s former British, Commonwealth and European Champion Robbie Davies Jr (24-5, 15 KOs), it’s a Manchester vs. Liverpool showdown as former World Title challengers Zelfa Barrett (31-2, 17 KOs) and Jazza Dickens (34-5, 14 KOs) clash for the WBA International Super-Featherweight Title, Manchester Light-Heavyweight Conner Tudsbury makes his professional debut against Belgium’s Sadaam Moamed Da Silva Caetano, Oldham’s Aqib Fiaz (12-1, 1 KO) returns at Lightweight against Malta’s Lydon Chircop (7-2, 4 KOs) over six rounds, Manchester Super-Welterweight powerhouse William Crolla (6-0, 5 KOs) faces Spain’s Ayoub Zakari (5-7-1) over six rounds and Manchester Featherweight AlfieMiddlemiss (1-0) kicks off the Before The Bell action in a four round fight with Middlesborough’s Caine Singh (1-5-2).

VIDEO: Pat Brown & NXTGEN March 28 Press Conference Ft Vuong, Crolla, Dixon, Dickinson + More

BROWN VS. REZNICEK NXTGEN LAUNCH PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman:

“Good evening everyone and welcome to the National Football Museum here in Manchester. The professional debut of one of the top GB fighters, Olympian Pat Brown at Planet Ice in Altrincham on Friday March 28 – live worldwide on DAZN.

“The man to my right (Pat Brown) is going to be filling that place out. He has ordered 2,000 tickets for his professional debut. A six-round fight. Plenty of you here tonight, Pat Brown fans in the house.

“It is going to be the start of a very exacting journey. We’ve also got tremendous undercard. We saw a brilliant NXTGEN last week. We’ve got another brilliant NXTGEN card on March 28.”

Pat Brown:

“The atmosphere will be electric. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m honoured to be headlining on my debut, not many fighters can do that so I’m in a really fortunate position.

“I know everyone on the undercard. I did scaffolding with Will (Crolla) on the end there. We were having our lunch brews and that in the freezing cold lifting steel tubes. Obviously Conner, we’ve known each other since we were kids. We had a little dingdong when we were kids as well.

“It’s really nice to have everyone I know on the undercard. It’s not just me, it’s Manchester boxing. This is about Manchester boxing coming back which is what I’ve been dreaming of.

“I’ve got a good opponent with a positive record. It’s not going to be someone that is just going to be tucking up. He’s going to be coming and he’s going to be swinging some shots. I’ll show everyone what I’m about.

“When I was an amateur I’d have a few hundred come and watch me, they follow me everywhere. It’s 15 minutes from my house. Let’s get the show on the road.”

Reece Farnhill:

“Yeah I’m looking forward to it. It’s my firs time on a big stage like this. It’s going to be a tough fight. Neither of us are going to take a step back – it’s going to be good. I know he’s a tough kid. He’s got plenty of experience. It’s a different game this pro game. Ten rounds – should be good.”

Mark Dickinson:

“This is definitely must-win for me. Obviously coming off the back of the defeat – it was a hard pill to swallow. I thought I was ready for the step-up. Obviously not. I think stepping up to Super-Middleweight will definitely suit my style. With Reece’s style as well, we’re both come forward and we’ll meet head on. It could steal the show this fight. I think the styles should gel and it will be a tremendous fight. We’ll see who takes the first backwards step.”

Cameron Vuong:

“Last time I checked, it was him that pulled out. Listen Eddie, I’m just happy the fight is on. Hopefully he turns up this time. I can’t wait to smash him to pieces.

“It was a great experience fighting Gavin Gwynne – nobody can take that away now. I got dragged into deep waters – I knew he would do that. He put it on us to be fair. I’ve been saying I’ve got big balls and I’ve got a big heart. I had to show it when I boxed Gavin Gwynne.

“I think it’s a different type of fight against Jordan Flynn and I’m looking forward to smashing his face right in. I think he’ll get a big shock. Hopefully he turns up – third time lucky. I cannot wait.”

Jordan Flynn:

“Thank you for having me here today. I just want to say thank you to Matchroom for the opportunity of this fight happening again. It’s been a long time coming. This will be third time lucky.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t make it. I’m actually in LA right now – Beverly Hills – just having a nice holiday chilling out. I’m not really going to train for this fight to be honest because after seeing Cameron’s last fight – it was a bit of a joke that performance.

“I wasn’t impressed. He’s not actually as good as I thought he was. I think there’s no need for a training camp this time around. And also, to minimise the chance of an injury happening, I think it’s best if we don’t train.

“Cameron I suggest you do the same. I think you should just take it a bit easy. Don’t train too hard. We don’t want more shoulder injuries happening. No more excuses this time.

“I’ve had to give Cameron the opportunity again. I wasn’t going to but I thought, ‘you know what – we need to get justice for Gavin Gwynne. It’s not fair what’s happened to him with that decision last time out. Vuong – make sure you’re ready. No more excuses. Let’s go baby.”

Rhiannon Dixon:

“The last time out against Terri Harper was my worst ever performance. I feel like I’ve got a point to prove now. I’m just grateful that you’ve got me back on a Matchroom show. I can’t thank you enough. I’m excited to get back out there in front of a local crowd.

“I think we just took each opportunity as it came. The Commonwealth, European and then World Title. We couldn’t say no. Obviously we’re both so new to it – me coming from white collar and Anthony is a new coach. We had a lot to learn and we sat down and went through everything. It was a sad time. We’re through it now and we’ll be back better.”

William Crolla:

“Big thanks to you and the Matchroom team for keeping me so busy. I’ve got a tough step up next week on the Catterall undercard. I’m looking forward to showing what I’m about. Manchester boxing is close to booming again. I’m very excited to be a part of it.

“When the city booms again they’ll say my name is one of the reasons why. With the likes of Conner and Pat – there’s no reason big time boxing shouldn’t come back to Manchester.”

Conner Tudsbury:

“I’m really excited. I couldn’t ask for a better start to my pro career, with Matchroom at one of the biggest arena’s in the UK in Co-op LIVE. I can’t wait to sleep some people and see where my professional journey takes me.

“On Feb 15 and March 28 you’re going to see a lot of experience, you’re going to see all of the experience that I’ve gained from fighting all over the world. You’re going to see 16 years of experience in boxing.”

KAMBOSOS JR FACES YORDAN IN SYDNEY HOMECOMING AS NICOLSON DEFENDS WORLD TITLE DOWN UNDER AGAINST NEMESIS BROWN

‘Ferocious’ George Kambosos Jr headlines a blockbuster Australian Fight Night as he headlines his long-awaited homecoming in Sydney on Saturday, March 22 against Daud Yordan – live worldwide on DAZN, in partnership with DiBella Entertainment and Ferocious Promotions, and in association with Tasman Fighters and Goldstar.

The former undisputed World Lightweight Champion makes his introduction in the Super-Lightweight division on a huge card Down Under from Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena which features two unmissable Women’s World Title bouts with Skye Nicolson and Cherneka ‘Sugar’ Johnson looking to successfully defend their respective crowns on home soil.

And rising Heavyweight sensation Teremoana Teremoana will be out ensure that the Aussies rule when the Olympian bids for his seventh successive stoppage.

Kambosos Jr (21-3-0, 10 KOs) faces former two-weight IBO World Champion Yordan (43-4-0, 31 KOs) in the main event, looking to lay down a marker in one of the sport’s most exciting divisions.

The 31-year-old – who captured the IBF and WBO Lightweight belts by beating Teofimo Lopez in 2021 – has shared the ring with the likes of Devin Haney, Maxi Hughes and Lee Selby and returns to the ring for the first time since his war last May with the legendary Vasyl Lomachenko.

Indonesian opponent Yordan promises another stern test for Kambosos and is no stranger to fight fans, having previously held IBO World Titles at Lightweight and Featherweight and succumbing to a points defeat by Anthony Crolla in Manchester back in 2018.

Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn said: “This a brilliant card, headlined by the ferocious George Kambosos Jr in his hometown of Sydney. He’s a dangerous man and he will be in the mix of World Title conversations soon enough now he’s in the 140lbs division.

“There are two tremendous Women’s World Championship fights too, as Skye Nicolson defends her WBC Featherweight crown against a tough, mandatory in Tiara Brown – plus, Cherneka Johnson and Nina Hughes get the chance to go again for the WBA Bantamweight belt.

“Big, bruising Heavyweight Teremoana Teremoana will be out to put on another knockout performance in front of his home fans, and much more, in what promises to be an unbelievable night of boxing Down Under.”

George Kambosos Jr said: “Eight long years on the road, and finally I get to fight back in my hometown of Sydney, Australia.

“Moving up and having my 140-pound debut in front of my fans at a sold-out Sydney arena is the return I have always wanted. This is not just a fight; it’s an opportunity to inspire and give back to my loyal fans and to the community that has stuck by me all these years, the wait is now over.

I will be facing a veteran of the sport and a fierce competitor, former two-time IBO World Champion and WBA World Title challenger Duad Yordan, ‘The Boxing Senator’, from Indonesia.

“The Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney will set the stage for me to make a statement return in front of my vocal hometown fans. I see this is as a testament to resilience, a celebration of my homecoming, expect fireworks and see you all March 22.”

Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment added: “I am excited to team up with Matchroom Boxing and TEG Sport to bring ‘Ferocious’ George Kambosos Jr. back to his hometown in Sydney where he will face former world champion Daud Yordan on March 22 at the Qudos Bank Arena.

“This is a tremendous style matchup between two come-forward pressure fighters. Yordan is no stranger Down Under with three wins on Australian soil, but George is ready to unleash his warrior spirit once again to put on a sensational performance in his junior welterweight debut.”

WBC World Featherweight queen Skye Nicolson (12-0, 1 KO), meanwhile, continues her quest to become ‘Future Undisputed’ – but must take care of undefeated, mandatory American rival, Overtime Boxing’s Tiara Brown (18-0, 11 KOs).

Defending her championship for the first time in her native Australia, Nicolson made history last October when she was the first female fighter to successfully retain her title in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during the Riyadh Season curtain-raiser, when the Southpaw outclassed Raven Chapman to extend her flawless record.

“This is my homecoming as World Champion – a moment I have dreamed of and manifested: Bringing big world title action Down Under,” said Nicolson.

“Australian boxing is entering a golden era, and this is the time to get excited and be part of the journey. I’m taking on an undefeated and dangerous challenger with the support of the nation behind me.

“My opponent has had a lot to say and doesn’t believe I’m worthy of my status as World Champion. On March 22, she is going to eat her words in Sydney as I silence the doubters and critics all over again.”

Another long-standing rivalry will be settled in Sydney as Cherneka Johnson defends her WBA World Bantamweight title in a rematch against Nina Hughes, after their first fight was marred in controversy last May.

Britain’s Hughes (6-1-0, 2 KOs) will be hungry for retribution after she was initially declared as the winner before the ring announcer corrected himself by revealing Johnson (16-2-0, 6 KOs) as the victor by majority decision to become a two-weight World Champion.

“I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring on another awesome show here in Australia,” said WBA World Bantamweight Champion Cherneka Johnson.

“I have no doubt in my mind that it’s going to be a career-best dominating performance.”

World Title Challenger, Nina Hughes added: “First and foremost, I have a lot of respect for Cherneka Johnson as an athlete – she’s a tough competitor. But this time around, I’m not leaving anything to chance or in the judges’ hands. I’ve trained harder, I’m sharper, and I’m ready to leave no doubt when I step in that ring.”

Rising Heavyweight sensation Teremoana Teremoana, meanwhile, is looking forward to adding more valuable experience as he plots his path to becoming a future World Champion in the sport.

“I’m excited to be back in action and heading to Sydney for another huge night for Australian boxing,” said Teremoana Teremoana.

“It’s another step on the ladder for me to get to the very top and I won’t be happy until I get there. People keep asking me if I want to get more rounds in and of course I’m ready for that and looking forward to it when it comes but if I can get someone out of there in 10 seconds, I will do it.

“I’m a chilled guy outside the ring but don’t get it twisted when that bell rings I’m in there to do damage and knock people out. That’s what people want to see from heavyweight boxing and it’s what I deliver.”

STAR BOXING RESCHEDULES ROCKIN’ FIGHTS 50

Huntington, New York (February 7, 2025) Star Boxing has announced the postponement of their

highly anticipated Rockin’ Fights 50th Anniversary Event from Thursday, February 13 to Saturday, March 22, 2025, at The Paramount NY.

“Unfortunately, Joe Smith Jr. has the flu which has progressed to pneumonia so we have

rescheduled the date of the event” said Joe DeGuardia, President and CEO of Star Boxing. “We

wish him a full and quick recovery and look forward to his main event fight against Devonte Williams on the rescheduled date, for our Rockin’ Fights 50th Anniversary Event. The rest of the card remains intact for the new date of March 22nd.”

In an ironic twist, February 13 is a date that brings déjà vu to Joe Smith Jr. Joe’s world

championship title fight against Maxim Vlasov, which was originally set for February 13, 2021, at the MGM in Las Vegas. Vlasov was diagnosed with covid thus postponing the matchup days before the fight. The fight was rescheduled for two months later, and Joe Smith Jr. captured the coveted Light Heavyweight World Championship defeating Vlasov in a memorable match on ESPN. So, while February 13 hasn’t been that good for the former world champ, it did lead to him becoming champion of the world, which is what Joe seeks now in the cruiserweight division.

The entire undercard will also be moved to the new March 22, 2025 date. In addition to Joe Smith Jr vs Devonte Williams, the March 22 show will feature an exciting undercard, including undefeated Micky Scala vs Victor Toney, KO ‘King’ David Malul vs Shaquille Rushing, Undefeated Yan Carlos Perez vs Sean Brewer, and GI Joe Elzey vs Jordy Gonzalez in a battle of undefeated prospects.

All tickets purchased for Rockin’ Fights 50 will be honored for the new date.

MIGUEL “EL EXPLOSIVO” MADUEÑO STEPS IN TO FACE WORLD TITLE CONTENDER OSCAR “LA MIGRAÑA” DUARTE IN A MÉXICO VS. MÉXICO BRAW

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Feb. 6, 2025) – In a newly announced main event, world title contender Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte (28-2-1, 22 KOs) will face a newly installed opponent, Miguel “El Explosivo” Madueño (31-3, 28 KOs), in what could become an all-out Mexico vs. Mexico brawl. Madueño steps in for the previously announced former two-time super lightweight world champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis, who sustained a shoulder injury. The new main event is scheduled as a 12-round super lightweight bout for Saturday, Feb. 15. The event is presented in association with Cancun Boxing and Camponovo Sports, and will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN.

“It’s a shame that Regis Prograis was injured. As I said before, I was very happy to face a fighter of that level, a former world champion, and I hope he recovers soon,” said Duarte. “Despite the change of opponent, I do not lose motivation. I remain focused and prepare at 100%. I set a goal for myself, and I am not going to stop until I achieve it—to be world champion! I see that Miguel Madueño is a good fighter and very dangerous. I am going to fight smart to win this bout. I must not lose sight of the fact that he is an experienced boxer, and fights between Mexicans are guaranteed to be a good show. I am grateful to Golden Boy for this great opportunity!”

“As we’ve seen in the past with Mexican warriors, this will be a war inside the ring on Feb. 15,” said Chairman and CEO Oscar De La Hoya. “We applaud Miguel Madueño for accepting this challenge against Oscar Duarte. This main event will be even more explosive with two knockout artists, and I fully expect both to give the fight of their lives as they have everything to prove inside that ring.”

“In this sport, you never know when that call will come—that’s why I stay ready,” said Madueño. “This isn’t an easy fight, but that’s exactly why I do this. Boxing isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am. I live it, breathe it, and right now, I’m hungry to get back in the win column. Oscar Duarte is a tough challenge, and I respect him for taking me on as a late replacement. But I’m not going to Anaheim to test my luck—I’m going to win. I’m going to fight, throw everything I’ve got, and prove that nothing great happens without taking your best shot.”

“We are grateful to Golden Boy and DAZN for this incredible opportunity and extend our best wishes to Regis Prograis for a swift recovery from the injury that sidelined him from this event,” said Alex Camponovo. “Stepping up on short notice, Miguel ‘El Explosivo’ Madueño embraces yet another tough challenge—something that has defined his career through grit, heart, and a relentless pursuit of the toughest tests. I commend him for betting on himself against a formidable opponent like Oscar Duarte. With both fighters possessing explosive knockout power and a passion for toe-to-toe action, fans at the Honda Center and those watching from home can expect nothing less than an electrifying showdown.”

Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte, of Parral, Chihuahua, has made his mark in boxing as one of the toughest world title contenders in the lightweight division. Known for his hunter-killer instincts and defensive skills, he is unafraid to engage any fighter. His only career blemishes are a loss to Adrian Estrella in 2019—which he avenged with 11 straight knockout victories—and a defeat to knockout artist Ryan Garcia in December 2023. His most recent win was a masterful performance on the “Latino Night” card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he defeated the resilient Botirzhon Akhmedov. Duarte turned professional in 2013 and has incredible Mexican star power behind him, with award-winning actor, model, and television host Gabriel Soto co-managing his career alongside Cancun Boxing.

Miguel Ángel Madueño Angulo, known by his ring name “El Explosivo,” is a Mexican professional boxer from Sinaloa, Mexico. Madueño has built a reputation for his formidable punching power, with an impressive 28 victories coming by knockout—giving him a knockout ratio exceeding 80%. He made his professional debut on Jan. 27, 2017, securing a first-round technical knockout against Luis Fernando Aguilar. Throughout his career, he has competed primarily in the lightweight and super lightweight divisions. Notable victories include wins over Juan Huertas, Luis Munoz Duran, and Manuel Martinez. His most recent bout was on July 6, 2024, when he faced Keyshawn Davis and suffered a unanimous decision loss. Despite this setback, Madueño continues to train and compete, aiming to further his career in the boxing world.

Nathan Heaney and Sofiane Khati Set to Battle for the WBA Middleweight Continental Europe Title

British middleweight Nathan Heaney is gearing up for another shot at WBA regional gold as he steps into the ring against France’s Sofiane Khati in a highly anticipated clash this Saturday, February 8, in Manchester, foe the Continental Europe championship.

Heaney (18-1-1) is no stranger to championship success. The Stoke native previously captured the WBA Middleweight Continental title in 2023 with a victory over Jack Flatley and successfully defended it twice before suffering a knockout loss to Brad Pauls. Now, he’s looking to reclaim his place at the top.

Khati, the reigning French middleweight champion, is eager to claim his first continental title. Since turning pro in 2018, he has put together an impressive resume, winning four of his last five bouts, with his only loss in that stretch coming via majority decision.

Adding to the significance of this fight week, Heaney was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame of his hometown, Stoke, in recognition of his contributions to the sport. Now, he’ll aim to mark the occasion with another belt around his waist.

Cárdenas to Defend WBA Continental Latin America Title Against Acosta

This Saturday, February 8, San Antonio, Texas, will host a thrilling super bantamweight showdown as reigning WBA Continental Latin America champion Ramón “Dinamita” Cárdenas puts his belt on the line against unbeaten Mexican contender Bryan Acosta.

Cárdenas captured the vacant title in 2024 with a ninth-round knockout of Jesús Ramírez Rubio and now looks to make his first defense in the main event of a ProBox TV fight card.

His challenger, Acosta, enters the ring at 26 years old with a flawless 20-0 record. Having built his career between Mexico and Canada, this bout marks his U.S. debut—a moment he’s eager to capitalize on as he aims for a statement-making victory.

Cárdenas brings a strong resume of 25 wins (14 KOs) and just one loss, which dates back to 2017. Meanwhile, Acosta has recorded eight knockouts, with three of his last four victories coming inside the distance. With both fighters hungry for success, this bout promises to deliver high-octane action.

Undefeated Brooklyn bantamweight prospect Khalid Twaiti ready to shine and climb

BROOKLYN (February 6, 2025) – Undefeated Brooklyn bantamweight prospect Khalid Twaiti (14-0, 5 KOs) is preparing to showcase his skills at home on the February 23rd “The Return” card, presented by World Kid Promotions. All the action will be streamed on www.bxngtv.com live from Kings Theater in Brooklyn.

The headliner is former world champion and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Brooklyn junior middleweight Sadam “World Kid” Ali (27-3, 14 KOs), who returns to the ring after a 5 ½ years absence from the ring.

The 36-year-old Ali’s company, World Kid, is promoting this event, its first since 2012, which was also held in Brooklyn. Ali captured the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Middleweight World title in 2017, upsetting then future Hall-of-Famer Miquel Cotto (41-5) at the famed Madison Square Garden. Ali’s opponent is being finalized.

A runner-up in the 2015 USA National Championships, Twaiti is coming off his first 10-round fight, which he won by way of a dominant 10-round unanimous decision (99-91, 99-91, 98-91) over Emmanuel Rodriguez (15-1) last October in Newark, New Jersey.

Twaiti’s longtime friendship with Ali and his family makes this fight extra special for all involved, especially Khalid.

“Sadam is a brother of mine,” Twaiti said. “Our fathers and grandfathers have a long history of friendship in Yemen before they migrated to America.

“I’m looking to fight and get fights to put me in position to compete for a world title. I believe I’m enroute to do so.”

Twaiti is in the only scheduled 10-round bout, against an opponent to soon be finalized, on this card, which also features former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Lightweight World Champion, Ghana-native Richard Commey (30-5-1, 27 KOs), fighting out of The Bronx. . Inactive for nearly two years, the 36-year-old Commey is slated to be in an eight-round welterweight match against TBA.

“I’m happy to share an event with the two of them (Ali and Commey),” Twaiti added. “They are both good friends of mine.

“My main mission is to execute and handle my business. I believe being recognized (in boxing) is inevitable as I continue to dominate. This is a great platform for me to showcase my skills.”

The co-featured event will spotlight a YouTube sensation, East Meadow (NY) junior welterweight Adam Saleh (1-0-1, 0 KOs), who is supported by his nearly 5-million subscribers. He is in a four-round match against TBA.

Two other fighters on the undercard are Lebanese junior middleweight Nadim Salloum (13-2, 7 KOs) and pro-debuting New York City junior middleweight Jahanze Riswan, respectively, in six and four round fights.

Card subject to change.

Ticket prices range between $43.00 and $206.00 and are available for purchase online at https://www.kingstheatre.com/events/sadam-ali/.

Doors open at 3 p.m. ET with the first bout at 4 p.m. ET.

UNSTOPPABLE: OLYMPIC HISTORY MAKER CINDY NGAMBA FACES EUROPEAN CHAMPION KIRSTIE BAVINGTON ON HER PROFESSIONAL DEBUT ON MARCH 7TH AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

LONDON, UK (February 6, 2025) – Cindy Ngamba will make her professional debut against reigning European Champion Kirstie Bavington as part of BOXXER’s historic all-women’s boxing event at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Friday, March 7th, live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland.

Ngamba, who joins the paid ranks having signed a multi-fight deal with BOXXER, made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by becoming the first ever athlete to win a medal for the Refugee Team.

Having won national titles in three different weight classes and captured an Olympic Bronze medal in Paris, the 26-year-old is wasting no time as she seeks to replicate her amateur success in the professional game.

Her opponent Kirstie ‘Bavo’ Bavington is the current European Welterweight ruler. The 32-year-old from Wolverhampton travelled to France to outpoint Marine Beauchamp in October last year to begin her second reign as European champion having previously held the title in 2022.

In May 2023, Bavington faced Lauren Price MBE in the first ever female British Title fight at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, losing a hard fought ten-round points decision to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallist.

Ngamba’s introduction to the professional ranks against European champion Bavington will be an eight-round super welterweight contest.

BOXXER Founder & CEO Ben Shalom said: “Cindy has big ambitions in the professional ranks and wants to test herself against the best. To face a fighter like Kirstie Bavington on your professional debut highlights that ambition. Cindy is a special person and a special fighter. She has already achieved great things in her amateur career, and we believe this is going to be the start of a very exciting journey as a pro.”

Ngamba vs Bavington is the latest fight confirmed for BOXXER’s ‘Unstoppable’ fight night – a historic all-women’s world championship event at the Royal Albert Hall taking place on Friday March 7th as the curtain-raiser to the International Women’s Day 2025 global campaign the following day.

Headlined by the WBC, IBF, WBA and Ring Magazine World Welterweight Unification clash between Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price MBE, this iconic event will also feature Caroline Dubois defending her WBC World Lightweight Title against WBC #1 contender Bo Mi Re Shin and an exciting all-British featherweight showdown between Karriss Artingstall and Raven Chapman, with more fights to be announced soon.

This event is presented in association with official partners Betfred, That Prize Guy, Riyadh Season, Car Finance 247, Village Hotels, Hell Energy and IFX Payments.

Remaining tickets are available via BOXXER.com

JONES FACES MASTRONUNZIO ON PRO DEBUT IN ORLANDO

Omari Jones will take on Alessio Mastronunzio in his professional debut at Caribe Royale in Orlando on Saturday March 15, live worldwide on DAZN.

TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW AT TICKETMASTER.COM

Jones announced that he was turning pro with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom in January, and the Team USA Olympic bronze medal man will step through the ropes for the first time right on his doorstep in Orlando.

Mastronunzio (14-5 4 KOs) brings a wealth of experience to test the debutant, with the 30 year old Italian stepping through the ropes for the 20th time in the paid ranks. The opening bell will be the 114th round in the pro game for the Rome man as Jones touches gloves for his first three-minute session out of the vest, and the 22 year old is champing at the bit to get his career underway on March 15 in front of his people.

“My hometown supported me through the Olympics and even before it as well,” said Jones, who meets Mastronunzio over six rounds a few pounds north of the Welterweight limit. “The kids at my gym look up to me and want to follow the same route that I am on. To be an inspiration to them is amazing. After I qualified for the Olympics, the first thing I thought about was how this is for the kids in Orlando to let them know they could do this too.

“My dream is to fight the best-of-the-best and right now is just the beginning of my career. The most important part is to be active and stay in the gym which I’m always doing, so I’m ready for the call for a World title when that comes.

“I feel I could be America’s next boxing superstar. It’s something I’ve worked for my whole life; it’s the same ring I’ve been fighting in for the past 14 years just in a different arena. I’m ready for the professional game and ready to step in against the big boys.”

Jones’ clash with Mastronunzio is part of a big night in the Sunshine State where Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams tops the card in his quest to get back into title contention against Patrice Volny over 12 rounds at Middleweight.

Williams (17-1 12 KOs) bounced back with a 12th KO win in the paid ranks in Philadelphia in November after a brave showing against hotly-tipped Briton Hamzah Sheeraz in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in June.

‘Ammo’ is handily ranked at #6 with the WBC, #7 with the WBA and #9 with the IBF, and the Texan southpaw will be looking for an impressive victory to take a big step towards securing more massive fights at 160lbs.

Volny (19-1 13 KOs) will have other ideas though, and the Canadian will be full of confidence as he enters the bout on the back of a KO win over fellow countryman and former World title challenger Steven Butler in June in his Montreal hometown.

Further additions to the undercard will be announced soon.

THE TIGERS ARE READY, BUT JALOLOV’S OFF THE CARD.

THE TIGERS ARE READY, BUT JALOLOV’S OFF THE CARD:

Eye of the Tiger kicks off the year with a bang tomorrow night with its Gold Rush gala, headlined by Olympian and NABF super-lightweight champion Arthur Biyarslanov (17-0, 14 KOs) facing former world champion Mohamed Mimoune (24-6, 5 KOs).

In what was expected to be the cofeature bout of the evening, a medical issue forced two-time Olympic light heavyweight gold medalist Bakhodir Jalolov to withdraw from his fight against former French champion David Spilmont, forcing the matchup to be canceled.

Therefore the WBA international light heavyweight champion, Albert Ramirez (19-0, 16 KOs), will now fight in the co-main event, against the Croatian contender Marko Calic (15-1, 9 KOs). Also in action are Olympian and WBA International light-heavyweight champion Albert Ramirez (19-0, 16 KOs), Olympian Mehmet Unal (11-0, 9 KOs), as well as Montreal prospects Christopher Guerrero (12-0, 7 KOs), Moreno Fendero (8-0, 6 KOs), and Avery Martin Duval (12-0-1, 7 KOs).

ARTHUR BIYARSLANOV, NABF SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION:

“If you ask me, I believe I could fight for a world title tomorrow morning. But I know how boxing works—I still have to prove myself. Beating a former world champion like Mohamed Mimoune will definitely send a message.”

MOHAMED MIMOUNE, FORMER IBO WORLD CHAMPION:

“Undefeated fighters are the least scary because they’re often the least tested. The pressure is on him, not me—I’ve seen it all and I know I can perform at this level. Yes, it will be a tough fight… but it will be an even tougher night for him.”

Three Lions Promotions Wins Jack/Rozicki purse bid

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (February 5, 2025) – The long wait is finally over for Canadian cruiserweight contender Ryan “The Bruiser” Rozicki (20-1-1, 19 KOs). His promoter, Three Lions Promotions, won today’s World Boxing Council (WBC) ordered purse bid for WBC Cruiserweight Champion Badou “The Ripper” Jack (20-1-1, 19 KOs) versus Rozicki, its No. 1, mandatory challenger.

“We won the rights to promote the WBC Cruiserweight World Championship,” Dan Otter of Three Lions Promotions said. “We look forward to hosting the Jack vs. Rozicki world title fight this April in Canada.”

Three Lions Promotions was the lone bidder.

The 29-year-old Rozicki, who was born in Sydney (Nova Scotia) and lives in Hamilton (Ontario), is a heavy-handed Canadian slugger who has knocked out 19 of the 20 different foes (he fought one opponent twice) he defeated for an incredible 95-KO percentage.

Rozicki had been the mandatory challenger for then-WBC Cruiserweight World Champion Noel Mikaelyan (27-2, 12 KOs), but he failed to make a title defense, despite the WBC ordering fight mandatory challenger Rozicki, since he won the vacant WBC Cruiserweight world title in November 4, 2023, when he stopped Llunga Makabu in the third round. The WBC recently named Mikaelyan its “Champion In Recess”, elevating Jack who, ironically, had been the WBC “Champion In Recess.” Jack never defended the WBC title he captured February 26, 2023, with a stoppage of Makabu in the 12th round.

“It’s my time to win this title,” Rozicki commented. “I have waited long enough. It doesn’t matter where the fight takes place, I’m leaving with that belt.”

Ryan Rozicki is on mission to become the first Canada native to be world cruiserweight champion

Jack, 41, was a 2008 Olympian representing his native Sweden. He is a three-division world champion having also been a WBC Super Middleweight and World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Heavyweight title holder. Jack is 5-0-2 (2 KOs) in world championship bouts.

Heavy hands, short night for undefeated Brooklyn Heavyweight Prospect Pryce Taylor Scored devastating 2nd round TKO in Flint

NEW YORK CITY (February 5, 2025) – Last Sunday, the boxing maturation process continued for developing Brooklyn heavyweight prospect Pryce Taylor (6-0, 3 KOs) who fought on the high-profile Claressa Shields (16-0, 3 KOs)-Danielle Perkins (5-1, 2 KOs) card in Flint, Michigan.

Taylor, 28, blasted late replacement Jerell Nettles (4-11-1, 1 KO), of Denver, who was unable to get out of the second round against the heavy-handed Taylor.

“The beat goes on…….literally,” Taylor said after the fight. “I hit him with a right hand and he almost landed outside of the ropes. He tried to hold on to me, but his legs couldn’t keep him up, and he flopped down on the canvas.”

Unfortunately, due to the late replacement, Taylor fought in the opening bout of the evening in front of only a handful of fans.

“There weren’t many people there for my fight,” Taylor explained, “because I was supposed to fight somebody else who got hurt. But I got to watch the other fights and see the crowd. It felt electric there. I’ve been to some other big fights like Wilder vs. Washington, but sitting in the first row for these fights felt exciting. I wish that I had fought on television, but it’s going to come. All I can do is keep putting on a show.

“As we entered the arena, my manager, Keith Sullivan, said to me, ‘Look around and take it in because one day you are going to be the headliner.’ I am motivated to get to that point in my career.”

“I was hoping he would get more rounds this time out in his first six-rounder,” Sullivan added. “Trust me, he is just getting started. He spars with all of the tri-state area heavyweights and handles them like a seasoned pro. When he lands, it’s like a cinder block getting dropped on you. I plan on getting him back in the ring in a few weeks.”

Stanford’s Dante Kirkman Returns to the Ring on March 8 at Thunder Valley Casino Resort

PALO ALTO, CA (February 5, 2025) – Rising middleweight prospect and Stanford University senior, Dante “The Inferno” Kirkman (3-0, 1 KO), is set to make his 2025 debut on March 8 in a four-round bout against Jose Cruz of El Monte, CA. The fight will take place at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA, as part of the “Thunder Showdown II” event promoted by Nasser Niavaroni of Uppercut Boxing Promotions.

Fighting in Northern California, where his family, friends, and a strong Stanford contingent will be in attendance, is something Kirkman is embracing wholeheartedly. “It’s always special fighting close to home,” said Kirkman. “I know the Bay Area fans are going to come out strong for this one, and I can’t wait to put on a show for them. My goal is to end this fight early and march toward a busy 2025.”

Kirkman has also made waves at Stanford University, where he stands out as the only professional boxer in its history, balancing academics and athletics at an elite level. “There’s not another pro boxer walking around Stanford, or any other top college as far as I know, and I like to show kids that they can go far in life as a great student as well as a great fighter.”

A win over Cruz on March 8 would further solidify Kirkman’s status as a rising prospect in the middleweight division. “Every win matters at this stage of my career,” he concluded. “I need to keep stacking victories, improving, and making a name for myself in the sport. I want to fight at least five times this year. I’m looking to gain experience, keep building my record, and make my presence felt in the division.”

Tickets for “Thunder Showdown II” are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com, with pricing as follows: $149.95 (Floor 1 – 4) / $124.95 (Floor 5 – 6) / $89.95 (Lower Mezz) / $74.95 (Mezz) / $59.95 (Balcony), plus taxes and fees. The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort is located at 1200 Athens Ave, Lincoln, CA 95648. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with the first fight set to begin at 7:00 pm.

IBF World Title Eliminator Subriel Matías vs. Gabriel Valenzuela

DETROIT, Mich. (February 5, 2025)  Salita Promotions and Fresh Productions today announced a high stakes battle of junior welterweights set for Saturday, March 1, live on DAZN. Charismatic Puerto Rican knockout specialist Subriel Matías (21-2, 21 KOs) will face Mexico’s Gabriel Valenzuela (30-3, 17 KOs) in an IBF world title eliminator. Matias and Valenzuela, the IBF’s two top ranked 140-pound contenders respectively, will headline the event in Matias’ hometown of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and extend the classic Puerto Rico vs. Mexico boxing rivalry. The winner of the bout will be the mandatory challenger to reigning IBF Champ, Richardson Hitchins.

Matias, through the co-promotion deal with Juan Orengo’s Fresh Productions, is the latest in a slew of young talent to align with the fighter-turned-promoter Dmitriy Salita. Matias joins Puerto Rican Olympian Ashleyann Lozada, heavyweights Brandon Moore and Pryce Taylor and French Canadian highly ranked contender Carolyn Veyre as exciting new faces on Salita Promotions’ DAZN boxing telecasts in the first quarter of 2025.

The March 1 event is promoted by Fresh Promotions and Salita Promotions and is expected to be the first of a series of events to be produced by this joint venture. Fresh Productions has established itself as the leading promotional company in Puerto Rico, with by far the best roster of fighters from the Island, which includes Matias, Alfredo “Ojo” Santiago and two-time world champion Emmanuel “Manny” Rodríguez, among others.

Tickets for the event at Coliseo Tomás Dones Hernández, Fajardo, Puerto Rico went on sale today and can be purchased at www.ticketera.com.

“Subriel Matías embodies the Puerto Rican fighting spirit and is simply a can’t-miss fighter every time he steps into the ring,” said Salita. “Among the most dangerous active fighters of today, Matías will have the opportunity to replant his flag atop the star-studded junior welterweight division. With the reigning champions and several other stars fighting in and around 140 pounds, there is no shortage of huge matchups waiting for Matías when he comes out on top in his homecoming event.”

“We are excited to bring this great fight to Subriel’s hometown of Fajardo,” said Juan Orengo of Fresh Productions. “It will be an unforgettable night for Puerto Rican boxing and for all the fans who have closely followed Subriel’s career. We appreciate DAZN, Salita Promotions, and everyone involved for making this event possible.”

“Fighting in my hometown, in front of my people, is an honor and an extra motivation,” said Matias. “I know Valenzuela will come prepared, but I’m ready to prove why I deserve another shot at the title. On March 1st, Fajardo will witness a great battle.”

The 32-year-old former IBF Junior Welterweight World Champ Matías started his impressive professional career in 2015 when he made his debut against Juan Rojas and won the fight via first-round TKO. Since then, Matías has amassed 21 victories, all by stoppage. Boasting a highlight reel career, Matías is widely regarded as one of the most prolific finishers in boxing. In June 2022, Matías faced Jeremias Ponce for the vacant IBF Junior Welterweight Title. Emerging victorious via fifth round stoppage, Matías defended his title once against Shohjahon Ergashev before losing the title via decision to Liam Paro last June. Now, Matias is en route to becoming a two-time IBF World Champion.

Following the loss, Matias went right back to work and, in November, returned to the win column with a second-round stoppage of Mexico’s Roberto Ramirez. With another win on March 1, Matías will earn his second shot at the title.

Facing Matías will be a surging, confident 30-year-old Valenzuela. On the strength of five straight victories, Valenzuela boasts 17 knockouts in 30 wins and should make an electrifying match opposite Matías. Originally scheduled to face each other in November 2024, Valenzuela will compete for the first time in Matías’ home country of Puerto Rico. Currently ranked No. 4 in the IBF junior welterweight division (Matias is No. 3) with the top two spots vacant, Valenzuela is confident that he can win on foreign soil and earn his first world title shot against Hitchins.

“This fight is going to be a classic,” said Valenzuela. “I’m proud to represent my country as I fight to bring another world title back home to Mexico. I want to thank my promoters BXSTRS Promotions and JD Promotions as well as Salita Promotions, and DAZN for this opportunity. ¡Viva México! See you on March 1!”

Boxing Insider Promotions to bring upscale pro boxing club show back to Times Square

NEW YORK CITY (February 5, 2024) – Boxing Insider Promotions has become known in boxing circles during the past two years for hosting competitive, entertaining club shows and that trending brand continues February 20th, once again, in historic Times Square.

All the action will be streamed on DAZN, as well as on www.boxinginsider.com, live from Sony Hall’s intimate surroundings for another special evening of professional boxing on Broadway.

New York City’s only club show boxing returns with action-packed fights featuring some of the area’s best prospects.

The 10-round, main event pits one of boxing’s best kept secrets, unsung Tennessee welterweight Avious Griffin (16-0, 15 KOs), versus Jose Luis “Guerro” Sanchez (14-4, 4 KOs) for the vacant WBC USA Welterweight title. Griffin has stopped all but one of his 16 opponents to date and he’s riding a 9-fight KO streak into the ring to take on Sanchez.

A 10-round Special Heavyweight Attraction, co-promoted by DiBella Entertainment, showcases Dominican Republic-native “Gentleman” George Arias (18-1-1, 7 KOs), fighting out of The Bronx, against an opponent to be determined.

“New York City is experiencing a boxing resurgence with a string of some of the biggest events in the sport,” promoter Larry Goldberg said. “The big shows need club level shows to develop the next generation of talent. We offer an opportunity for local fighters to fight and stay independent.

“I am very excited to feature four of New York City’s top prospects, including one of the city’s best heavyweights (George Arias), and Avious in his first title match.”

Three Brooklyn lightweight prospects are also fighting on the Feb. 20th show at Sony Hall in three separate four-round bouts: Koby Khalil Williams (4-0, 3 KOs) vs. TBA, lightweight Jason Castanon (1-1, 1 KO) vs. Stephen Barbee (0-2), and Elijah Gonzalez (1-0, 1 KO).

The card is subject to change.

CHAMPION RETURNS: JANIBEK ALIMKHANULY TO DEFEND IBF & WBO MIDDLEWEIGHT WORLD TITLES IN HISTORIC HOMECOMING EVENT

ASTANA, KAZAKHSTAN (4th February 2025) – Undefeated Unified Middleweight World Champion, Janibek Alimkhanuly (16-0, 11 KOs), is set to make history in his homeland as he becomes the first Kazakh Unified World Champion to defend his titles on home soil. This monumental night of boxing will take place on Saturday, 5th April 2025, in the heart of Astana, Kazakhstan. The event will be staged by Nomad Promotions, a brand-new promotions company making an unprecedented debut with this landmark occasion.

Billed as “Homecoming,” the event represents a defining moment for Kazakhstan, blending the country’s rich boxing heritage with the rise of a global star. Fans and fighters of Kazakhstan have been deprived of seeing their World Champions in the flesh. Stars such as Gennady Golovkin, and in his career to date Janibek Alimkhalnuly, have won and defended their titles predominantly  in the US. This marquee event, created by Nomad Promotions, signifies a changing in the tide as fans across the region and around the world will now witness a champion’s return as Alimkhanuly defends his IBF and WBO Middleweight World Titles against the  formidable Anauel Ngamissengue (14-0, 9 KOs).

Defending World Champion, Janibek Alimkhanuly, said: “Kazakh Style’ is finally coming home. April 5 will be a memorable night as I defend my WBO and IBF world titles against a top opponent. Many fighters turned down this opportunity, so I credit Anauel for accepting the challenge. My goal is to become the undisputed champion, and Anauel in my way. The fans in Kazakhstan and everyone watching worldwide will see something special.”

Kazakhstan boasts a proud tradition in boxing, with over 23 Olympic medalists and global legends such as Gennady Golovkin, Serik Sapiyev, and Vassiliy Jirov. However, this will mark the first-ever world title defense in modern history to take place in the country, showcasing Kazakhstan’s emergence as a force on the global boxing stage.

This groundbreaking event will be the debut promotion for Nomad Promotions, an ambitious company with a mission to elevate Kazakh boxing to new heights. Making history from day one, the event represents a bold statement of intent to bring world-class boxing to local fans.

Promoter, Scott Murray, of Nomad Promotions, said: “This is everything fight fans dream of. Two undefeated fighters, two world titles on the line, and one historic night. Organizing this historic night has been a labor of love for our team. We are committed to developing the sport of boxing in Kazakhstan, and there’s no better way to do that than by hosting a world title fight featuring our very own Janibek Alimkhanuly. This is just the beginning of our journey, and we are honored to be part of this milestone. It is going to be a great, historic moment for both the sport and the country and the first of many events we bring to Kazakhstan.”

Top Rank Chairman, Bob Arum, said: “Janibek is a supreme talent and the very best middleweight in the world,” said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum. “He has tremendous support in Kazakhstan, and we are pleased that he’ll have the opportunity to defend his world titles in front of his adoring home fans. Anauel is a tough opponent, but Janibek is in a class of his own.”

French-Congolese Challenger, Anuel Ngamissengue, looks to follow in the footsteps of Ilanga Makabu by bringing the World Titles back to the Congo. The fierce punching middleweight brings an immense amount of confidence to the ring along with his unblemished record.

Undefeated Challenger, Anuel Ngamissengue, said: “Thank you for this long-awaited opportunity—after almost a year of fighting for a chance, this is the most important moment of my career. I know I’m going into the lion’s den, but I thrive in situations like this. I respect Janibek and everything he’s achieved, but I’m coming to Kazakhstan to crash the party and show the world that I belong at the top. See you on April 5.”

With his unbeaten record and growing legacy, Janibek Alimkhanuly continues to inspire as he leads Kazakh boxing into a new era. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime event in April 2025, where sport and national pride will collide in an unforgettable spectacle.

In addition to the highly anticipated main event, fans can expect a stacked undercard featuring rising stars and local talent, as well as a showcase of the grassroots initiatives designed to inspire the next generation of Kazakh boxers. Further details, including the full fight card and ticketing information, will be announced soon.

Tickets for “Homecoming” will go on sale from Monday 10th February 2025, with exclusive pre-sale access available at www.nomad-promotions.com. The fight will be aired on ESPN+ in the US.

DELICIOUS ORIE SIGNS FOR QUEENSBERRY

THE 2024 BRITISH Olympian Delicious Orie is set to join the professional ranks and has signed a promotional agreement with Frank Warren and Queensberry to team up with the most formidable pool of heavyweights in world boxing.

The popular Orie, 27, who hails from Wolverhampton following his family moving to the UK from Moscow, became the dominant force of the British amateur heavyweight scene by winning gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games staged in Birmingham, also winning bronze in the same year at the European Championships.

In 2023 he struck gold at the European Games in Krakow-Malopolska, which secured him a place at the Paris Games. However, his Olympic dream was cut short via a split decision loss to the Armenian Davit Chaloyan in the opening round.

Now he is ready to follow in the footsteps of recent British Olympic heavyweights Anthony Joshua, Joe Joyce and Frazer Clarke with a charge in the professional code. He will be showcased by Queensberry alongside fellow domestic heavies Daniel Dubois, Fabio Wardley, Moses Itauma, Joe Joyce, Lawrence Okolie, Derek Chisora, David Adeleye, Sol Dacres, Boma Brown, Lewis Williams, Joe Bourne and Aredeji Adegbola.

“I can’t wait to get this next chapter underway!” said the 6ft 6” Orie on his promotional union.

“I’ve put the heartbreak of Paris behind me and look back on my amateur career with pride. A home Commonwealth Games where I won my first major gold and closing the European Championship as Team GB’s flag bearer with a gold medal round my neck were definitely the highlights. I’d like to thank GB Boxing and Team GB for all their support over the past few years.

“I’ve teamed up with Steel City gym, STN Sports and Queensberry Promotions, who together I feel are the team that will take me to the top of the heavyweight division.

“Queensberry is the home of heavyweight boxing and have a long tradition of developing boxers the right way and building superstars. I can’t wait to get going!”

Promoter Frank Warren added: “This is yet another signature heavyweight signing for us at Queensberry and I am delighted to welcome Delicious to the team.

“Delicious has got everything stacked in his favour to make himself a major success as a professional heavyweight. He is skilful, powerful, popular and charismatic and I am certain the British public will get behind him in a big way as he makes his way in the sport.

“We have got incredible depth in the heavyweight division here at Queensberry but, as always, we develop each fighter as an individual and Delicious will be given the right fights at the right time to progress him towards major title contention.

“I am very much looking forward to getting him started and cannot wait to see Delicious in action.”
