Oceanside, CA (February 23, 2026) – San Diego’s homegrown boxing prospects and cousins Julius Ballo and Jonny Mansour have showcased their pugilistic skills across the globe, and they will get the chance to headline their own event at home on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, Calif.  

Co-promoted by Frontwave Arena and G2G Promotions, SD Fight Night: Family Business will be the inaugural event of a new boxing series bringing consistent, high-level boxing to the San Diego area.

“I’m excited to headline SD Fight Night: Family Business. Ballo’s father, Yasir “Jack” Ballo, introduced him to the sport as a youngster, and he soon fell in love with the sweet science. The Granite Hills High School alum enjoyed a storied amateur career, which included a Youth Pan American Games gold medal, three USA Boxing national championships, and a 2024 National Golden Gloves title. After just missing the chance to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games, Ballo decided to turn professional. 

He entered the paid ranks on July 26, 2025, sweeping the scorecards in his pro debut at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Ballo added a second professional victory in December, scoring an impressive six-round victory on the Championing Mental Health card in Los Angeles, which caught the eye of many in the boxing world. 

Ballo and Mansour were both members of USA Boxing’s national team and enjoyed the opportunity to navigate the amateur boxing scene together as they were coming up through the ranks. They have both amassed a prominent and loyal following both on and off social media, fueled largely by the Chaldean community that they proudly represent.

Mansour has established himself as one of boxing’s most promising professional prospects. The 25-year-old lightweight is undefeated through six professional bouts, including two knockouts, after turning pro in 2024. 

A graduate of Granite Hills High School in El Cajon who now resides in La Mesa, Mansour began boxing at just eight years old. He compiled more than 140 amateur victories, rising to become the top-ranked lightweight for Team USA and serving as an Olympic alternate during the 2020 Olympic cycle. A National Golden Gloves Champion, he represented the United States internationally while balancing his boxing career with studies in business and finance at San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business. Known for his speed, ring IQ, and growing power, Mansour enters SD Fight Night as one of the rising names to watch in American boxing.

NEW YORK CITY (February 23, 2026) – Professional boxer Brooklyn “The Big Deal” Barwick, a well-known social media brand influencer, is preparing to fight for the vacant National Boxing Association (NBA) Female Americas Featherweight Championship. The title bout is this Thursday night (Feb. 26) at El Polideportivo in Ensanche Isabelita, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Barwick, 26, originally from Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, now fights out of Manhattan. She sports a 4-0 pro record with four first-round knockouts and awaits official recognition for two additional South American wins.

“This fight means everything to me because it represents survival, faith, and redemption,” Barwick explained. “Boxing and religion saved me during my darkest moments. And every step forward since then has been guided by Him. I carry the strength of the Jewish people with me into the ring, and I want the world to understand that we are far stronger than they think. Claressa Shields retained the undisputed Heavyweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Super Middleweight champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn in front of over 16,000 fans at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

In round eight, Crews-Dezurn was bleeding from the mouth.

Shields, 174 lbs of Flint, MI won by scores of 100-90 on all cards and is now 18-0. Crews-Dezurn, 174.2 lbs of Baltimore is 10-3.

This was a rematch of the pro debuts of each fighter that saw Shields win a four-round decision in 2016.

Oberlton Stops George After 1; George Momentarily Collapses on Stool

Atif Oberlton got stoppage after round one when Joseph George Jr. collapsed on his stool.

Not much happened in round one, but replays showed a clash of heads between the two. In between rounds, George plummeted of his stool and seemed to momentarily unconscious.

Oberlton, 174.8 lbs is 14-0 with 13 knockouts. George, 173.4 lbs of Houston is 13-2.

Perkins Knocks Out Kenneally To win WBA Light Heavyweight Title

Danielle Perkins won the WBA Light Heavyweight title with a sensational one-punch knockout over Che Kenneally in round six.

In round six, Perkins landed a perfect right hook to the jaw that sent Kenneally down. Kenneally was bleeding from her mouth and the fight was stopped at 1:45.

Perkins, 174.4 lbs of Houston is 6-1 with three knockouts. Kenneally, 171 lbs of Gold Coast, AUS is 5-1.

Pryce Taylor Stops Evans in 3

Pryce Taylor remained undefeated with fifth round stoppage over James Evans in an eight-round heavyweight bout.

In round four, Pryce landed a left to the body that took Evans into the ropes for a knockdown. Moments later, Taylor landed a clubbing right that put Evans on the cannvas.

In round fiive, Taylor continued to land hard clubbing shots that put Evans down for a third time. When Evans got to his feet, the fight was stopped at 53 seconds.

Taylor, 275.2 lbs of Brooklyn is 11-0 with seven knockouts. Evans, 223.8 lbs of Toledo, OH is 9-3-1.

LAS VEGAS ––For one night, there were no doubts about Ryan Garcia.

He eliminated them with a disciplined, thorough decision over Mario Barrios Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs), often known for wild controversy, simply performed, a boxer trying to redeem the considerable talent in his skillset. He did that, dominating the scorecards – 119-108, 120-107 and 118-109.

Barrios (29-3-2, 18 KOs) never had a chance, mostly because Garcia never lost control.

Along the way, Garcia picked up his first world title, the World Boxing Council welterweight belt.

He also reconnected with his dad, Henry, who was back in his corner. Garcia wore dad’s first name, stitched onto the beltline of his red trunks.    

He also put himself in line for bigger fights, perhaps a sequel in a grudge match with Devin Haney. There’s also Shakur Stevenson, who has quickly emerged as a pound-for-pound contender. Stevenson was at ringside. Sure enough, Garcia called him out after the scores were announced. He still knows when and how to deliver a line.

There were no complaints, except for maybe one.

“To be honest, I should have got the knockout,’’ Garcia said.

He didn’t, perhaps, because defense is the only weapon in Barrios’ skillset. He’s careful, but now he’s also an ex-champion

It didn’t take long for Garcia to display just how fast and powerful his hands are. Not long after David Benavidez’ young son, Anthony, welcomed him into the ring with a fast flurry of his own punches, Garcia went to work. But it began with a surprise

He’s known for a lethal left. But he opened with a right that put Barrios down just seconds after opening bell.

Barrios kept his poise. He got up, patience instead of panic in his eyes. Those eyes, however, also had to be filled suddenly with some unexpected concern.

Barrios had to be as wary of the right as much as that feared left. It confronted Barrios with some double-edged danger. Power on one side and diversionary on the other.  

It was meant, perhaps, to set Barrios up for a finishing blow. But the defending champion from San Antonio proved to be tougher than perhaps Garcia expected. He withstood what Garcia threw with either hand and from almost any angle.

Still, there was a toll. From round-to-round, it became increasingly evident. Garcia punches and stubborn pressure began to wear down Barrios. He remained upright in trough the remaining eleven rounds.

But there were moments when his balance looked shaky. Barrios’ attempts at landing his best punch, a counter, began to dwindle as he kept his distance, perhaps because he didn’t want to step inside and within the range of the destructive power in both of Garcia’s hands.

It was a tactic. But Barrios couldn’t win that way. It allowed Garcia to stand outside, often with his hands down, as he fired from distance, almost sniper-like. Again and again, he scored enroute to the fist win on what might be redemption.

Russell survives, scores decision over Hiraoka

It was a fight for survival, or at least a punishing exhibition in how to prevail. Gary Antuanne Russell. won. Andy Hiraoka lost.

To the winner, there were mostly bruises. Russell’s resilience and early energy guaranteed victory. But the defending World Boxing Association’s junior-welterweight champion (19-1, 17 KOs)  suffered mightily in the tenth round because of an ugly low blow, thrown inadvertently but right on target. 

Hiraoka (24-1, 19 KOs) was penalized a point. But it didn”t matter. He lost on all three cards — 117-110 and 116-111 twice. In the Japanese junior-welterweight’s first loss, he won over the fans. The gathering crowd for Ryan Garcia-Mario Barrios at T- Mobile Arena cheered him and booed Russell when the scores were announced.

Hiraoka was fighting just a couple of days after a long flight from Japan. He was delayed by VISA problems. Early on, he looked stiff and tentative, almost as if he was suffering from jet lag. If he was , however, he shook it off in the middle rounds, That’s when he began to land big lefts and thundering body shots.

As the fight went on, it began to look as if jet lag might be contagious. Russell looked tired. In the end, however, he had scored often enough in the early round to survive.

Martin, Albright fight to wild draw

Anybody for a rematch?

It sounds as if everybody is, including  Frank Martin and Nahir Albright who set the stage for one with a wild draw Saturday on a card featuring Ryan Garcia-Mario Barrios at T–Mobile Arena.

Through eight rounds, Martin (19-1-1, 13 KOs), a Detroit junior-welterweight, appeared to hold a slight edge. He dictated pace. He landed more solid shots. In the ninth, the lefthander rocked Albright (17-2-1, 7 KOs), of Philadelphia.

In the tenth, however. Albright attacked, capturing the momentum and badly hurting Martin with a head-spinning combination of ;punches. Martin stumbled, then desperately held on and held himself up just enough to avoid defeat.

In the end, it was 95-95 on all three scorecards.

“Should we re-run it?” Martin asked the fans.

The crowd roared yes.

Melikuziev Stops Agbeko in 7

Bektemir Melikuziev stopped Sena Agbeko in round seven of their 10-round super middleweight bout,

In round four, Melikuziev was cut around the right eye from a clash of heads. Agbeko was cut on his forehead

In round seven, Melikuziev wobbled Agbeko with a right hook and then was dropped with a straight left. Agbeko was badly hurt and ate another straight left and the fight was stopped at 2:58.

Melikuziev is now 17-1 with 11 knockouts. Agbeko is 29-5.

Amari Jones dominates, scores stoppage

It started with a counter hook. It ended in a beatdown.

From start to end, it was all Amari Jones (16-0. 14 KOs), a middleweight from Oakland, CA, who delivered a perfectly-executed hook that put Luis Arias down onto his rear and sliding across the canvas Saturday on the Ryan Garcia-Mario Barrios card.

Arias (22-7-1, 11 KOs), of Las Vegas, got up from the shot, but never really covered from the damaging impact. He looked hurt. He moved around the ring  in evident fatigue. In the fourth, he was down again.The ringside physician took one look at him and ended it.  Before the fifth, he was finished.

Uppercut thunder keeps Alakel unbeaten

Mohammed Alakel is unbeaten because of an uppercut.

David Calabro (5-2, 3 KOs) couldn’t elude it. It landed once, leaving him with a bloodied nose. It landed again, this time landing on his midsection with a shot that echoed throughout an empty Mobile Arena Saturday afternoon. Both put Calabro, of Aston PA,  on the canvas, both within a few moments in the second round. 

Calabro had seen enough. So had the referee, who ended it at 2:17 of the second in a TKO victory for Alakel (8-0, 2 KOs) of Riyadh.

First Bell: Hitchins withdraws from title defense versus Duarte as Garcia-Barrios card gets off to slow start

The show opened with empty seats, news that the co-main event was off the card and Joshua Edwards.

A few fans had just reached their seats at T-Mobile Arena when it was reported that junior-welterweight Richardson Hitchins withdrew from his title defense Saturday against Oscar Duarte on the Ryan Garcia-Mario Barrios card because of an undisclosed illness. Delay and dull followed.

Edwards, a former Olympic heavyweight, appeared to have the power to eliminate the dull. But there was no stoppage. Edwards, a perfect five knockouts in five fights before the bout, could never land anything solid against Canadian Brandon Colantonio (7-3, 1 KO). Instead, Edwards settled for his first scorecard win, a unanimous decision.

Fight fans were treated to a glimpse of the special atmosphere that awaits on Saturday night with Nottingham’s Albert Hall rocking at tonight’s Weigh-In between arch-rivals Leigh Wood and Josh Warrington.

The former World Champions face each other in long-awaited rematch this weekend – live worldwide on the Global Home of Boxing, DAZN – as part of a brilliant card featuring the British & Commonwealth Super Welterweight Title clash between Ishamel Davis and Bilal Fawaz, Sandy Ryan fighting Karla Ramos Zamora for the WBC World Super Lightweight Championship, plus the return of popular Heavyweight Dave Allen, young superstars Leo Atang and Tiah-Mai Ayton, along with former MMA icon Molly ‘Meatball’ McCann.

The hometown hero Wood was soaking up the love from his fervent support this evening – vowing to deliver a repeat performance of his October 2023 victory.

“I’ll be doing it quicker [this time]. That’s the main and important thing,” said Wood.

“I’ve got to win – and I’ve got to win quicker. If he [Josh] comes out quick and comes for me, it is going to end very, very quick. I promise you that.

But Leeds’ revved up Warrington revealed he is ready to silence the boo boys at the 8,000-sold out Motorpoint Arena and “roll back the years” to avenge his previous loss to Wood.

“I’m right up for this one,” said Warrington, speaking to DAZN’s lead Boxing commentator, Adam Smith.

“The determination, the focus. It’s all there. I have rolled back the years for this one.

“I don’t want to give too much away, but you’ll see on Saturday night. Whatever he [Leigh Wood] is going to bring, I’ve got a plan for it. There’s a lot up the sleeves of Josh Warrington this time, that is for sure.

“Leigh Wood has had a brilliant career, but The Leeds Warrior is here and will be walking away with a victory. Revenge is sweet. For the travelling fans coming down, Saturday night is going to be absolutely epic.”

LAS VEGAS – The weigh-in was staged on a day when nothing else was.

Ryan Garcia, known to miss weight, was a half-pound lighter than the 147-pound mandatory and Mario Barrios was at the welterweight max Friday just as boxing’s familiar chaos descended all over again.

There’s redemption, and maybe Garcia (24-2, 20 KOs) gets some along with his first real title Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in a DAZN-streamed fight.

There’s respect, and maybe Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs) gains some by retaining the World Boxing Council’s green belt after keeping it twice with a couple of unconvincing draws.

From redeem to retain, there’s an R-word for just about everything in boxing. The only missing one is retirement. There’s no such thing. Prizefighters are like the tide. They keep coming back.

As Garcia and Barrios stepped off the scale and then indulged in the trashing-talking, non-blinking stare-down ritual, Floyd Mayweather, now more Sr. than Jr., was announcing a comeback.

Who knows if it really happens – and there are reasons to be skeptical. If it does, however, maybe the 30-year-old Barrios or the 27-year-old Garcia are in his future. Mayweather will always get closer to social security than he will his prime. He’ll be 49 next Tuesday (Feb. 24).

Who knows if Mayweather needs the money or the attention or both. Whatever the motivation, he becomes a legendary name that younger fighters – a Garcia or a Barrios – might one day want to have on their resume. 

One way to become a legend is to beat one. Mayweather is surely that, although his plan for a comeback risks his 50-0 sanctioned record. 

A loss to a face in the game’s emerging generation – again a Garcia or a Barrios – is a risk to Mayweather’s carefully-calculated claim on being an all-time great.

There’s a lot of talk that Mayweather’s comeback plan will include a rematch of his revenue record-setting victory over Manny Pacquiao. On Friday, at least, it was impossible not to note that Barrios fought to a controversial draw in July with Pacquiao in his last fight.

In announcing his comeback plan, Mayweather said he would fight his next sanctioned bout after a reported exhibition with Mike Tyson this spring. He’s also engaged in a looming court battle, a lawsuit against Showtime for $340 million.

Meanwhile, no specifics – date, place and network – have ever been announced about the speculated Mayweather-Tyson show. It’s fair to be as skeptical about that as it is to wonder whether we’ll ever see his comeback really happen. At 49, things change.

The body doesn’talways cooperate. Ask Bernard Hopkins, who went from an ageless wonder until he got stopped, knocked out of the ring by Joe Smith in 2016. Hopkins was 51. His body finally said no mas.

For now, however, Mayweather says he has contract, deal with CSI Sports/FIGHT SPORTS for a comeback career, post Tyson. 

“I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing,” Mayweather said in a written statement.

More records, maybe more revenue too, But there’s another R-word: Regret. Without retirement, that’s often all that’s left.

Former WBA bantamweight world champion and Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire native Shannon “The Baby Face Assassin” Courtenay made her pro debut in March 2019 and claimed the vacant WBA bantamweight title in April 2021. Courtenay was stripped of her title ahead of her first defense in October 2021 when she came in 2.5?lb over the limit, an issue she attributed to an unexpected menstrual cycle. Courtenay made her promotional debut with MVP in December 2025, winning by UD.

Elizabeth Temitayo Oshoba fights out of Bristol, England via Sango Ota, Nigeria. As an amateur, she was a 6x Nigerian national amateur champion and won bronze at the 2019 All African Games, gold at the 2020 African Zone 3 Championships, and silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Oshoba relocated to the UK to make her pro debut in September 2022, clinched the IBO female super featherweight title in November 2023, then became Nigeria’s first female world title holder and the WBC Silver featherweight champion in January 2024. She is the #1 IBF, #7 WBA, and #12 WBC contender.

Outside the ring, she works as a secondary school teacher.

Tysie “The First Lady” Gallagher is a 27-year-old from Luton, Bedfordshire. She began boxing at age 10 and finished her amateur career with 35 fights, winning two national titles, finishing twice as an ABA Senior Elite finalist, and representing England internationally. After turning pro, she made history as the first-ever female British super bantamweight champion, has held the Commonwealth and WBO International titles at 122lbs, and contested for the WBO world title in November 2023. She is currently the IBF #4, WBO #6, and WBC #15 contender. Outside the ring, she is a proud mother to her seven-year-old daughter.

VERONA, N.Y. — Manny Pacquiao Promotions (MPP) today announced opponents for Jimuel Pacquiao Jr. (0-0-1) and Curmel “Big Deal” Moton (8-0, 6 KOs), as both promising prospects return to action on Saturday, February 28 at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.

Returning to Upstate New York for the first time since his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame last June, Manny Pacquiao and MPP bring a talent-stacked card back to U.S. soil. Pacquiao Jr. steps back into the fray for his sophomore outing against Puerto Rico’s Luis E. Santana Figueroa (0-2) in a four-round lightweight fight. In his highly anticipated professional debut at MPP’s inaugural sold-out U.S. event in November, Pacquiao Jr. delivered relentless aggression in a thrilling, back-and-forth battle with Brandon Lalley. Though the bout ended in a controversial draw, he left little doubt about his star potential, displaying the same electrifying, fan-friendly style that made his father a global icon. MONTREAL, February 18, 2026 — Eye of the Tiger is proud to announce the long-term signing of promising Montreal prospect Keven Beausejour. He becomes the 24th athlete under contract with the Quebec-based organization and will return to the ring on April 9 at the Casino de Montréal, on the undercard of the unified world championship bout between Osleys Iglesias and Pavel Silyagin.

Callum ‘Mundo’ Smith defends his WBO Interim Light Heavyweight Championship against David Morrell on his home turf in Liverpool as part of a huge North-West double for Matchroom Boxing in the UK this April – with Cruiserweight sensation Pat Brown topping the bill in his hometown of Altrincham, live worldwide on the Global Home of Boxing, DAZN.

On Saturday, April 18, Smith fights in Merseyside for the first time in seven years, with his homecoming set against his dangerous Cuban rival Morrell (12-1, 9 KOs) at the M&S Bank Arena. 

And the month gets underway on Friday, April 3, when Team GB Olympian Brown headlines for the second time in his hometown at Altrincham’s Planet Ice Arena in a massive step up for The Ring Magazine’s undefeated 2025 Prospect of the Year nominee when he faces Vasil Ducar for the WBA International Cruiserweight Title.

Both blockbuster fight nights will be complete with stacked undercards, all to be announced in due course alongside ticket details via Matchroom Boxing’s official website. Information on when to apply for media accreditation will follow too. 

April 3 also sees the eagerly-awaited Matchroom Boxing debut of the Croft twins, Ioan and Garan, who join the bill alongside Featherweight prospect Alfie Middlemiss, who is also now officially part of the UK roster, who collides with Lewis Morris.

For Callum Smith (31-2, 22 KOs), his April 18 homecoming has been long overdue having last headlined in Merseyside back in November 2019 when he defeated John Ryder for the WBC Diamond Super Middleweight Title.

Born in Guantanamo, Cuba and now fighting out of Miami, Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs) can put himself back into the world title mix with a victory on March 28. The 33-year-old worked his way up the rankings while winning his first 24 bouts, including a dominant unanimous decision over the then unbeaten Efe Ajagba in October 2021 that cemented his contender status. Sanchez challenged another undefeated foe in May 2024 as he went up against Agit Kabayel, eventually losing the bout in round seven after suffering a knee injury early in the fight. Recovered from the injury, Sanchez returned to the ring last February with a TKO of Ramon Olivas Echeverria.

The 26-year-old Torrez (14-0, 12 KOs) has been perfect as a pro following a sensational amateur career that was capped by earning an Olympic silver medal, and which also featured triumphs over Jared Anderson and Dainier Pero. A native of Tulare, California, Torrez has steadily increased his competition as a pro, with his first notable triumph coming over the then undefeated Brandon Moore via fifth-round TKO in May 2024. After adding wins in 2024 over Joey Dawejko and Isaac Munoc Gutierrez, Torrez defeated another notable name last April as he bested Guido Vianello by unanimous decision. In a 10-round middleweight attraction, one of the 160-pound division’s fastest-rising stars Yoenli Hernandez will put his unbeaten record on the line against his toughest opponent to date, the dangerous U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha, with the winner in prime position to challenge for middleweight gold.

Ranked number one by the WBA, number two by the WBC and number three by the WBO, Hernandez (9-0, 8 KOs) is yet another in a long line of sensational amateur fighters to come from the Cuban program, with his long resume before turning pro featuring a 2021 gold medal at AIBA World Boxing Championships. Originally from Camaguey, Cuba and now fighting out of Providence, Rhode Island, Hernandez turned pro in May 2022 with a pair of stoppage victories and continued to dominate his competition as he rose up the rankings. A member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team, Gausha (24-5-1, 12 KOs) was born in Cleveland, Ohio but now fights out of Encino, California and is trained by the renowned Manny Robles. Gausha bounced back from an unsuccessful title challenge of WBC Middleweight World Champion Carlos Adames in 2024 to drop Elijah Garcia in their 2025 showdown, eventually coming up on the short end of a narrow split decision. Prior to facing Adames, Gausha had won back-to-back bouts as he knocked out Brandyn Lynch in March 2023 before winning a decision over KeAndrae Leatherwood in September of that year. Gausha has faced top competition throughout his career, having fought former champion Austin Trout to a draw in 2019 in addition to decision losses against WBA Middleweight World Champion Erislandy Lara, former world champion Tim Tszyu and top contender Erickson Lubin.

Opening up the pay-per-view, 22-year-old rising star Elijah Garcia will make his debut at the full super middleweight limit as he takes on streaking battle-test veteran Kevin Newman II, who enters this 10-round fight on a seven-bout winning streak.

Fighting out of Phoenix, Arizona, García (17-1, 13 KOs) most recently rose from the canvas to take home a split-decision against Terrell Gausha last March, getting back in the win column after coming up short on the cards against Kyrone Davis in June 2024. Garcia had previously burst onto the scene as a teenager by earning three impressive victories in 2023. NEW YORK CITY (February 16, 2026) – Brooklyn’s undefeated heavyweight Pryce Taylor (10-0, 6 KOs) is set to make his third consecutive appearance in Detroit and fifth overall in Michigan overall. He will face James Evans (9-2-1, 7 KOs) this Sunday in an eight-round bout at Little Caesars Arena.

Pryce will also be fighting on a loaded Salita Promotions-card, headlined by All-World Claressa Shields (17-0), the undisputed world female heavyweight champion, streaming live on DAZN. This fight will mark the third time Pryce has fought on a show featuring Shields in the main event (Feb. 22 vs. Franchon Crews Dezurn (10-2).

Dzambekov Viciously Knocks Out Elbiali in 2

Umar Dzambekov stopped Ahmed Elibiali with one vicious uppercut in round two of their 10-round lightweight bout.

In round two, Dzambekov landed a crunching right uppercut on the jaw that turned the face of Elbiali and sent him crashing down to the canvas. The back of Elbiali’s head slammed on the canvas and his left leg was shaking and the fight was stopped at 58 seconds.

(February 12, 2026) – Boxing history will be on the line when WBC #3-ranked Lester Martinez faces WBC FECARBOX and #14-ranked Immanuwel “The Chosen One” Aleem on Saturday, March 21, as the WBC Board of Governors has voted unanimously in favor to sanction the fight for the WBC Interim World Super Middleweight Championship.

Martinez (19-0-1, 16 KOs) from Guatemala City, Guatemala, will be looking to become his country’s first-ever world champion when he takes on Richmond, Virginia’s Aleem (22-3-3, 14 KOs) in the main event of ProBoxTV’s “The Contender Series,” broadcast live (7 pm EST/4 pm PST) from the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, California.

“I really thought I won the fight on September 13, and it’s been frustrating to not get a rematch with Mbilli,” said Lester Martinez. “I very much appreciate Mauricio and the WBC Board of Governors for giving me this opportunity. It’s been my dream to be the first Guatemalan champion ever. I can’t wait for March 21.”

It’s been a roller coaster ride to get to this dream fight for Martinez, who hasn’t been in the ring since his “Fight of the Year” split draw with now WBC World Champion Christian Mbilli in a battle for the interim world title in September. Considered a highlight of the entire show, the fight was televised live on Netflix on the undercard of Terence Crawford’s victory over Canelo Alvarez.

Because of the competitive nature of the fight, the WBC ordered an immediate rematch between the two, which was effectively canceled earlier this year after Crawford was abruptly stripped of the WBC belt he won beating Alvarez and Mbilli was elevated to full champion.

Martinez personally petitioned the WBC to elevate his fight with Aleem to an interim title fight earlier this week while being honored with a ring in the shape of the sanctioning body’s symbolic green and gold belt for his Fight of the Year with Mbilli.

His efforts appear to have worked, as the approval is granted and the 30-year-old is now one fight away from boxing history.

The WBC based its support elevating Martinez vs. Aleem to a title fight based on a few important factors: Mbilli vs Martinez was awarded the Fight of the year 2025 by the WBC. A rematch for such fight was ordered by the WBC but for a variety of reasons such could not be materialized. Mbilli, who is the WBC World Champion, will not be active for a prolonged period of time, while Martinez vs Aleem has been secured to happen in the immediate future.

“As President of the WBC, I am thrilled to know such an amazing young man as Lester,” said Mauricio Sulaiman, “We are committed to supporting boxing and its development, worldwide.”

ProBoxTV’s Garry Jonas says he’s happy for Lester and his team, who was one point, or two rounds, away from winning a fight many thought he deserved to win. One judge scored it 97-93 for Martinez, one had it 96-94 for Mbilli, and one saw it even at 95-95. Jonas is also excited to be able to present a world championship fight in his March 21 main event.

London, February 12, 2026: Fury vs Makhmudov will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday 11 April, with the landmark London venue confirmed to host the heavyweight bout. The event is promoted by The Ring and will be broadcast globally on Netflix at no additional cost to its 300+ million members.

The press conference will take place on Monday 16th February at 4pm GMT / 11am EST at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, giving fans and media a first look at both heavyweights ahead of the fight. The press conference will stream live on Ring Magazine and Netflix’s YouTube channels. Assets will be available on the Netflix Media Center after the press conference. 

Fury is coming out of retirement to face Makhmudov, who brings a 21-2 professional record with 19 stoppages. The Russian-born heavyweight has competed across North America and Europe and most recently recorded a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Dave Allen in October 2025. 

The Ring previously staged both sold out Eubank Jr vs Benn fights at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with their first encounter named Fight of the Year at the recent Ring Awards in New York. 

Tickets for the event will go on sale Tuesday 17th February via Ticketmaster.

MONTRÉAL, February 12, 2026 — The “Boogeyman” is back! IBO Super Middleweight World Champion Osleys Iglesias will attempt to add the vacant IBF world title to his collection when he faces undefeated contender Pavel Silyagin on April 9, in what is expected to be the biggest boxing event ever presented at the Casino de Montréal.

“Make no mistake about the challenge ahead of us: Pavel Silyagin is a world-class boxer. However, we believe Osleys Iglesias has generational talent, with the potential to be not only among the elite at super middleweight, but among the global elite — pound-for-pound. For us, it was unthinkable not to bring this fight home to Montréal, where we are confident Osleys will prove us right on April 9,” said Eye of the Tiger President Camille Estephan.

“It will be a great battle. I know I’m facing a very experienced opponent and I thank him for accepting the challenge. But I believe this opportunity has come to me for a reason. Nicknamed “El Tornado,” Osleys Iglesias (14-0, 13 KOs) has built a reputation as one of the most feared fighters in boxing in recent years. Since joining Eye of the Tiger in March 2024, the Cuban southpaw has delivered impressive stoppage victories over Marcelo Coceres, Evgeny Shevedenko, Sena Agbeko, and Petro Ivanov — all inside the distance. In November, Iglesias secured the most significant win of his career by stopping Vladimir Shishkin in the 8th round to become the IBF mandatory challenger, at the time when the title was held by Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

Following Canelo’s surprise defeat to Terence Crawford and Crawford’s subsequent retirement, the IBF title became vacant. After Alvarez, Munguia, Sheeraz, and Williamson declined negotiations to face Iglesias, the opportunity ultimately went to IBF’s No. 7-ranked contender, Pavel Silyagin (16-0-1, 7 KOs). The 32-year-old Russian is not one to shy away from challenges. Five of his 16 victories have come against previously undefeated opponents. In his most recent and most significant win last July, he handed Argentine puncher Pablo “Pacman” Corzo his first loss in 24 fights, dominating him over 10 rounds. Still unbeaten in 17 professional bouts, Silyagin now aims to become world champion and upset another heavy puncher in Iglesias — in his first fight outside of Russia.

“When I found out about the official announcement of the IBF title fight with Iglesias — I saw my real chance to leave a mark in history of boxing. Put my name in Russian boxing history. To be honest, I still can’t believe it’s all real! From what I know — Osleys has got a strong punch and throws punches from different angles regularly. It’s going to be a long and tough fight — before it, we’ll definitely go with the team into the mountains to build up stamina, we’ll pay extra attention to that,” said IBF No. 7 contender Pavel Silyagin.

Also in action that evening, Quebec City’s Wilkens Mathieu (15-0, 10 KOs) will defend his WBC Continental and NABF super middleweight titles. Témiscouata’s former unifed world title challenger Leïla Beaudoin (13-2, 2 KOs) will make her long-awaited return in Quebec. Buckingham puncher Alexandre Gaumont (13-1, 9 KOs) will look to bounce back from the only loss of his pro career. Montreal’s Luis Santana (15-0, 7 KOs) will compete for the vacant NABA lightweight title. Eye of the Tiger prospect Erik Israyelyan (4-0, 2 KOs) will fight in his first scheduled six-round bout. Finally, Montreal’s Stéphane Fondjo (14-2-1, 9 KOs), coming off an explosive fight against Steven Butler, will also return to action.

The full event, #IglesiasSilyagin, will be broadcast exclusively on Punching Grace in the province of Quebec, while TVA Sports will air the preliminary bouts. The event will also be distributed worldwide on the DAZN platform. EOTTM has signed a two-event deal with the international broadcaster, which will also air the #ButlerHiseni card on March 5, also in Montreal.
