The WBA super featherweight division will gain a new key player this weekend as Azerbaijan’s Elnur Samedov squares off against Colombia’s John Lenon Gutiérrez for the interim WBA world title at 130 pounds. The bout, set for the Traktor Sport Palace in Chelyabinsk, Russia, figures to play a significant role in shaping the immediate future of one of boxing’s most competitive divisions.

Samedov enters the matchup with the advantage of fighting on familiar ground, having made Russia his regular base of operations. Known for his aggressive style and relentless work rate, the Azerbaijani fighter looks to seize a golden opportunity after years of climbing the regional rankings. His ability to close distance and thrive at close quarters will be crucial against an opponent with very different physical tools.

George Liddard will defend his British & Commonwealth Middleweight Titles for the first time against Tyler Denny at London’s Copper Box Arena on Saturday, March 21 – live on the Global Home of Boxing, DAZN.

Liddard delivered a masterclass to be crowned champion last October, just down the road at the East End’s fabled York Hall, when he sensationally stopped Kieron Conway in the 10th round.

Now the 23-year-old, whose sights are firmly set on becoming a future World Champion, is ready to overcome another stern test in what promises to be a sold out arena for an action-packed night in Stratford when he comes up against the former English and EBU European Middleweight ruler in Denny.

“I’m really looking forward to March 21 at the Copper Box,” said Liddard. 

“To be headlining at such a big arena is great and I will put on a performance worthy of it. 

“Tyler is a vastly experienced opponent so I cannot take him or anything lightly going into this. He’s a former European Champion, so when I win this fight it will stand me in good stead to fight for that title next. Let’s get it!”

Midlands man Denny, meanwhile, is confident his experience will help him prevail in the capital.

“I’m buzzing to be fighting for the British and Commonwealth Titles and would like to thank Matchroom Boxing for the opportunity,” said Denny, who bounced back last year with two wins over Grant Dennis and Elvis Ahorgah after suffering defeat by Hamzah Sheeraz at Wembley Stadium in September 2024. 

“I’m expecting a tough fight, as I have a lot of respect for George as a fighter. But I will be taking the belts back home with me.”

Giorgio Visioli has been making plenty of noise Stateside after his gym run-in with fellow top prospect Curmel Moton recently. But he returns to the capital on March 21 to make the first defence of his English Lightweight Title against a seasoned campaigner in Levi Giles. 

Visioli is earmarked for a bright future after he unanimously overcame Joe Howarth when he headlined at the Indigo at The O2 last December – and he’s eager to kick on for the year ahead.

“I’m looking forward to being out again in London defending my English Title,” said Visioli. 

“Levi Giles is a good opponent for me. He’s been in with some well-known English names and he’s got a good record but on fight night I’m going to show exactly where I stand in this division. There are levels to this, and they’ll be shown on March 21.”

Jimmy Sains is another youngster who is determined to push ahead in 2026 as he looks forward to facing Derrick Osaze. 

The ‘Brentwood Beterbiev’ is a stablemate of George Liddard’s at Tony Sims’ Matchroom Elite Gym in Essex, and he is excited to be kicking off his campaign for the year in east London.

“It’s a great card and I am looking forward to a step-up in opponent which gives me the perfect opportunity to show more of my boxing ability and show what level I’m at – and where I’m eventually destined to be.”

Now undefeated in seven fights, with all seven by way of knockout, rising Super Middleweight sensation Taylor Bevan will bring his legion of fans from the South Coast – along with local lad, and exciting Middleweight prospect, Leli Buttigieg who will have his East End faithful in attendance.

Connor Mitchell – managed by Conor Benn – delivered one of the most impressive debuts in recent times when the 21-year-old Featherweight staged a two-round demolition over Fernando Joaquin Valdez just before last Christmas.

And Mitchell is hungry to continue his early momentum on March 21, on the doorstep of his beloved West Ham United Football Club.

“It’s my second professional bout and the first fight of 2026, in what should be a big year ahead,”said Mitchell.

“I’m looking forward to being on another exciting Matchroom Boxing card, live on DAZN, with a host of other great fighters. I can’t wait to pick up from where I left off. Let’s go!”

In the same weight class, the energetic Adam Maca is back for his fifth contest – with all four so far resulting in stoppage wins.

CRANSTON RI – While it was a bitterly cold night in Cranston on Saturday, the fireworks on display kept fans warm inside the sold-out Historic Park Theatre.

CES Boxing’s Winter Brawl 2026 lived up to its hype, featuring a New England super welterweight turf war, a battle of unbeaten middleweight prospects, a blistering rematch of a Fight of the Year contender, and several of the best up-and-coming talent from the region. 

Fans who missed the action can watch the rebroadcast on NESN this Friday at 10pm EST and again on NESN+ on Saturday at 11pm EST.

Providence’s Victor Reynoso wins New England Super Welterweight Battle against an inspired Ray Oliveira Jr.

Unbeaten super welterweight prospect Victor “TAKO” Reynoso extended his perfect record to 12-0 (7 KOs) in the main event, with a composed six-round unanimous decision over an inspired Ray “Prince” Oliveira Jr. (10-5, 2 KOs).  Scores were 60-54 (twice) and 59-55 for the Dominican-born 32-year-old.

There was extra meaning behind this matchup. Reynoso grew up watching Oliveira Jr. compete as an amateur and now found himself across the ring from the same fighter he once studied from the stands.

With his famous father, Ray Oliveira Sr., serving as head trainer in his corner, New Bedford, MA’s Oliveira Jr. started fast, rushing out of his corner at the opening bell to pressure Reynoso behind a high guard. 

While Reynoso is not one to shy away from a brawl, he promised a disciplined performance beforehand and delivered exactly that. 

After feeling Oliveira out in the first, Reynoso began asserting himself with a stiff jab in round two, using his height and reach advantages to create distance and counter effectively with his right hand.

Victor mixed sharp combinations upstairs with thudding hooks to the body in rounds two and three, gradually slowing down Oliveira Jr., who tried repeatedly to pressure his way inside.
Reynoso often beat Ray to the punch, countered cleanly over the top, and never allowed the bout to devolve into a slugfest.

By rounds four and five, Reynoso’s body work had Oliveira backing toward the ropes, and a fourth-round sequence had the crowd buzzing as Oliveira absorbed several heavy shots. To his credit, Oliveira weathered the storm and continued his march forward whenever Reynoso slowed his pace.  Reynoso fought his most disciplined fight to date, however, staying composed, circling out of danger, and closing strong to earn the unanimous decision.

“He knew that the only way he could beat me was to go toe-to-toe, and I wasn’t going to give him that opportunity,” said Reynoso immediately after the bout.  “I used my jab intelligently and slowed him down to the body so that I could walk him into something up top.”

The win sets up a number of possibilities for Reynoso, who is determined to stay active in 2026.

“Let CES set them up, and I’ll knock them down,” said Reynoso. “I want to fight three more times this year.  The more active I am, the better.”

El Uno: Stamford’s Marroquin edges Macauley in Battle of Unbeatens

In the highly anticipated co-feature, Douglas “El Uno” Marroquin (9-0, 5 KOs) overcame a cut over his right eye to win a competitive majority decision over German Rufus Macauley (4-1, 3 KOs) in a collision of undefeated middleweight prospects.  Scores were 58-56 (twice) for Marroquin and 57-57.

The bout was a clash of styles, with the stocky, 5’6 Marroquin doing his best work inside and to the body while the 6’0 southpaw Macauley created distance with his wide stance and relied on his long left hand.

The half-Guatemalan, half-Mexican Marroquin started strong, snapping a stiff jab and working inside with furious body shots.

A clash of heads in round four cut Marroquin’s right eye, allowing Macauley to find his rhythm.  The 28-year-old Berliner showed that he did not fly across the Atlantic just for a paycheck, increasing the pressure in the middle rounds as Marroquin attempted to slow the pace.

Macauley’s late surge made the final rounds tense, but Marroquin’s early work and cleaner counters proved enough to secure the victory.

For the Marroquin, who trains in Norfolk under former pro boxer Wilner Mendez, this was less about flash and more about resilience.

“I have grit, I showed heart, and I went up against an undefeated fighter tonight who wouldn’t back down,” said the 27-year-old.  “I’m going to continue to entertain the fans who spend their hard-earned money to support us.”

Ayowole Tom Jones and Jhonny Dos Santos Steal the Show Once Again

When Ayowole Tom Jones (1-0-1) and Jhony Dos Santos first met last July at Mohegan Sun Arena, they delivered four rounds of non-stop action that ended in a draw. 

Saturday’s rematch picked up right where they left off.

Jones struck first, dropping Dos Santos with a right uppercut in round one.  Dos Santos responded in round two, flooring the 6’2 Jones with a series of head shots.

Controversy followed in round three when referee Eddie Claudio ruled what appeared to be a low blow a knockdown scored by Jones – a call that may have been the difference as both men emptied their tanks in the fourth and final round. 

The judges scored it 37-36 (2x) and 37-37 for Jones, giving him the first win of his professional career.

Macari Delivers for his Hometown Fans

Cranston’s own Tyler “My Time” Macari (3-0, 3 KOs) gave his hometown crowd exactly what they braved the cold to see: a quick, emphatic knockout.

The 26-year-old dropped late replacement Elijah Hasman with a massive left hook midway through the opening round, then poured on body shots until referee Joey Lupino mercifully stepped in at 2:51.

It was Macari’s third straight first-round knockout, and another reminder of why the former college basketball standout is becoming one of Rhode Island’s most exciting young prospects.

Other Action

Johnston-based Dominican welterweight Kevin Mojica (4-0, 4 KOs) kept his perfect record intact, stopping Mexico’s Ismael Rodriguez with a brutal left hook to the liver.  The time was 1:02 of the first stanza.

New Bedford super bantamweight Josh Alvarado (4-1, 2 KOs) made it four straight wins after losing his pro debut, annihilating Michigan’s Michael Thornton with a right hand to the head at 2:12 of round 1.  Thornton beat the count but was unwilling to continue after feeling Alvarado’s superior firepower.

In the opening bout of the night, Fall River’s Roberto Colon (1-1) kicked things off in style, dropping Puerto Rican John Medina four times en route to his first professional victory. The stoppage came at 0:22 of round 2.

KANSAS CITY, KAN. (February 9, 2026) – Undefeated Kansas boxer Marco “El Tiburón” Romero (11-0, 10 KOs) is heading to the Orlando area soon but not for the warmer weather, fresh seafood, or Disney World.

Romero is a red-hot boxing prospect from Olathe, Kansas, a 23-time national champion who at the tender age of 20, is already making waves in the pro ranks. He will take on Mississippi super middleweight Chown Sims (10-2, 5 KOs) in an 8-round bout, on the February 19^th “Champions Against Domestic Violence” card, presented by Christy Martin’s Promotions. Martin, a Hall of Famer and women’s boxing pioneer, is hosting the event at Hilton Hotel in Altamonte Springs, Florida, which is a North suburb of Orlando only eleven miles away. 

“It’s truly an honor to be fighting on a card promoted by the legendary Christy Martin,” Romero said. I feel it’s bigger than just another boxing show because it’s for ‘Champions Against Domestic Violence’ awareness and support. It’s using platforms to protect, uplift, and give those a voice and safety when needed.”

This will mark Romero’s first fight in 2026 after fighting 7 times last year. He spent a week at training camp in Tampa, where his third pro fight was held on September 13, 2024. His 4-round unanimous decision win against then 42-fight Marcelo Fabian Bzowski. It is the only pro fight in which Romero didn’t stop his opponent as he will be riding an 8-fight knockout streak into his Feb. 19^th clash.

Romero was originally scheduled to fight February 21^st in Miami, but the site and date were switched.

“It doesn’t bother me at all,” Romero noted. “I’m ready to fight anybody, anywhere; all is good. I’ve never fought in Orlando. I’ve been there to Universal, but this is an all-business trip. We’ll just be in and out for the fight.”

“Marco’s obsession for perfection seems to grow with every passing month,” Romero’s legendary manager/head trainer John Brown commented, “which will enable him to meet his team’s expectations with this upcoming bout on February 19^th and his main event fight on March 20^th (in Independence, Missouri).”

Sims’ 8-fight win skein was snapped in his last fight in September to light heavyweight prospect Atif Oberlton (14-0, 12 KOs), who was a 2-time National Golden Gloves Champion as an amateur. 

“He (Sims) has been in with a lot of good fighters,” Romero noted. “I know Oberlton. We were in the amateurs at the same time. We’ll find out what my opponent is made of when he gets in the ring with me on February 19^th.”

Romero is a promotional free agent and how he performs this year will determine his value for potential promoters. “The Shark” (‘El Tiburón‘), though, doesn’t feel any added pressure.

“No added pressure on me because I’m fortunate to have goals,” Romero concluded. “My goals are to sign with a big promoter, fight on bigger stages against bigger names, eventually fighting for a world title on a show back home in Kansas City. I ended last year strong and I want to start 2026 by making a statement to put the middleweight division on notice that (‘El Tiburón‘) is coming.”

NEW YORK CITY (February 9, 2026) – Albanian heavyweight Kristian “KP” Prenga (19-1, 19 KOs) will ride a 15-win streak into his February 21st 8-round fight against Joe Jones (16-14-1, 10 KOs) on an RDR Promotions-card at the Showboat Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

The power-punching Prenga, a former 2-time European kickboxing champion, will be fighting in A.C. for the fifth time. Now fighting out of Edgewater, New Jersey, the 34-year-old Prenga enjoys fighting there. Prenga is coming off a first-round stoppage of Brandon Carmack last December 6 in Atlantic City at Ballys Park Place Hotel Casino.

“This is going to be a great fight,” the 6’ 5”, 260-pound Prenga said. “Jones is an experienced and tough opponent. I have been training hard and camp is going great. I like fighting in Atlantic City because my fans enjoy spending the weekend there, watching my fight, and if they are lucky in the casino, we all go home winners.”

Prenga, who is a former North American Boxing Association (NABA) champion, has an eye-opening knockout percentage of 100%, 19-for-19, and his lone loss was 9 years ago to Govanni Auriemma on points (77-74) in only his fifth pro fight.

Jones, fighting out of Jersey City, NJ, defeated Cleotis Pendaruis in his most recent fight this past January 9th by way of a 6-round majority decision.

PHILADELPHIA–Dylan Price came off his first professional defeat with a eight-round majority decision over Sean Diaz in a super bantamweight bout that headlined a five-bout card at The Live! Casino Hotel in Philadelphia.

Price of Sicklerville, PA won by scores of 77-75 twice and 76-76 and is now 21-1. Diaz of Guadalajara. MEX is 9-2.

Adonis Wilkins remained undefeated by stopping Juan De La Cruz Rodriguez in a junior middleweight bout.

Wilkins scored two knockdowns in round five and the fight was stopped Rodriguez did not want to continue at 58 seconds.

Wilkins of Newark, DE is 8-0 with seven knockouts. Rodriguez of Front Royal, VA is 13-33-1.

Amilliohn Lovera won a six-round unanimous decision over Manuel De Jesus Hernandez Alonso in a super flyweight fight.

MONTRÉAL, February 6, 2026 — Eye of the Tiger presented the very first gala of its 2026 season this Thursday, in a sold-out event featuring six bouts at the Casino de Montréal.

Official results of the evening:

• Main event: Montreal’s Mehmet Unal (15-0, 13 KOs) earned a 9th-round knockout victory over Germany’s Altin Zogaj (17-1, 9 KOs). Trained by Marc Ramsay, Unal successfully defended his WBC Continental title and also captured the WBA Continental light heavyweight title (175 lb). He is currently ranked No. 9 in the world by the WBC.

• Co-main event: Two-time Belarusian Olympian Dzmitry Asanau (12-0, 6 KOs), trained in Montreal by Samuel Décarie-Drolet, won by corner stoppage after 7 rounds of action against Spanish champion Carlos Ramos (18-4-1, 10 KOs). Asanau defended his WBC Continental lightweight title (135 lb). He is ranked No. 4 by the WBC and No. 11 by the IBF.

• The pride of Thetford Mines, now residing in Candiac, Thomas Chabot (12-1, 8 KOs) secured a split decision victory (100-90, 99-91, 94-96) against hard-hitting New Brunswicker Dominic Babineau (13-3-1, 11 KOs). A two-time Canadian amateur champion, Chabot was competing in his first scheduled 10-round bout and made his featherweight debut (126 lb) after spending most of his career in the division above.

• Canadian Olympic medalist from the Paris 2024 Games, Wyatt Sanford (6-0, 2 KOs), impressed with a six-round unanimous decision (60-54, 60-54, 60-54) over Argentine brawler Alexis Gabriel Camejo (10-6-1, 1 KO). The Kennetcook, Nova Scotia native, who competes at lightweight, earned his sixth win in less than a year after making his professional debut in May 2024.

• Montreal’s Keven Beausejour (2-0, 2 KOs) became the first fighter to stop tough Czech boxer Petr Strnad (4-4-2, 2 KOs), scoring a 2nd-round knockout. The light heavyweight prospect was making his local debut, having won his first professional bout in Mexico last December.

• In the opening bout at super welterweight, Longueuil’s Dante Tice Oliveira (2-0, 1 KO) recorded the first knockout of his career by stopping veteran Argentine Gonzalo Manriquez (6-8-1) in the 4th and last round.

Michael Conlan’s road back to a world title takes him home to Belfast and a showdown with unbeaten American Kevin Walsh, live only on DAZN.

Conlan faces Walsh on Friday, March 20 at the SSE Arena on what promises to be an emotionally charged evening in front of his home fans.

The 34-year-old, bidding for a third shot at the world title, knows this could be the last time he fights in Belfast and so plans on making it a night to remember.

26-year-old Rene Tellez started boxing at 11 years old and compiled a final amateur record of 60-10, including a Golden Gloves title before turning professional in 2015. From Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico, the hard-punching Tellez trains in his hometown under Bonifacio Arellano at Gym Arellano and considers himself a brawler. Tellez has enjoyed an up-and-down career, punctuated by spectacular victories and heartbreaking losses. He was last seen scoring a unanimous decision victory this past September over (then 19-1) Jordan White.

“Luis Torres is a tough boxer with a lot of heart who leaves everything in the ring, but all my punches are my best punches and they all hurt,” said Tellez. “I know it’s a great opportunity, and an impressive win will help me get to a world title as soon as possible.”

24-year-old Luis Torres started boxing at 12 years old and compiled a final amateur record of 34-3 before turning professional in 2017. From Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, the aggressive Mexican southpaw trains in Las Vegas at Bob Santos Gym under world-renowned trainer Bob Santos.

Since his only career defeat, by TKO 3 to (then 18-3-1) Claudio Gabriel Daneff in October 2023, Torres has scored four straight impressive victories including TKOs over former world champion Nicholas Walters in three rounds in March of last year and in nine rounds over (then 18-1) Jonhatan Cardoso in September.

“Tellez is a Mexican with a lot of guts,” said Torres, but I will win because I have the better skills.”

In the 10-round co-featured bout, undefeated welterweight Ruben Eduardo “El Pollito” Aguilar (23-0-1, 20 KOs) from Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, puts his undefeated record on the line against road warrior and upset specialist Luis Lopez (16-2-4, 5 KOs) from Corona, California.

“Last time on our air, Ruben Aguilar made easy work of his opponent, like he was supposed to do,” said Garry Jonas. “If he does it again against a proven guy like Luis Lopez, then he’s the real deal. Luis Lopez is a true gatekeeper of the division, and no one should ever take him lightly. This will be the test for Aguilar for where he really stands in boxing.”

25-year-old Ruben Eduardo Aguilar started boxing at just six years old and compiled a final amateur record of 294-18, including becoming a three-time Mexican national champion before turning professional in 2018. From Ensenada, Baja California, the iron-fisted boxer/puncher Aguilar trains under his father, Omar Aguilar, at the great Gallo Aguilar Gym and, true to Mexican form, considers his left hook to the body his best punch.

“I know that he’s right-handed and short,” said Aguilar of opponent Lopez, “but I know who I am, the gift I have, and where I come from. I’m not here by chance or luck. I’ve been working hard since I was six years old. I was an underappreciated boxer from a young age, and that fueled my hunger to achieve even more. I’m going to prove that I’m destined for great things. God gave me this gift of boxing, and I will make the most of it.”

29-year-old Luis “Louie” Lopez started boxing at 10 years old and compiled a final amateur record of 31-6 before turning professional in 2018. Originally from Corona, California, the patient and stalking Lopez trains under Henry Ramirez at Raincross Boxing in Riverside, California.

Lopez is undefeated in his last six fights and, true to form, was last seen fighting to an upset draw against formidable undefeated prospect Adrian Vargas in July of last year.

“Aguilar looks to be tough opponent with power,” said Lopez, “but I will win this fight with my will and conditioning. A win would be great for advancement in my career a win over a good undefeated fighter like Aguilar would lead to bigger opportunities.”

And in the 10-round chief supporting bout, hometown hero Edward Vazquez (18-3, 5 KOs) makes his triumphant return to take on ultra-tough Grimardi Machuca (17-3, 14 KOs).

“This will be another terrific fight,” added Garry Jonas. “Edward Vazquez’s losses have been to top guys, including a close split decision to Raymond Ford and a very controversial majority decision to Joe Cordina for the world title. He’s a two-time world-title challenger on the comeback trail and looking to prove himself for another shot, and Grimardi Machuca is a come-forward, aggressive fighter, so this should be a very fan-friendly, action-packed battle. This is no tune-up fight for Vazquez. Machuca is a live dog in this fight.”

30-year-old Edward Vazquez started boxing at eight years old and compiled a final amateur record of 82-8, including winning the Ringside Amateur World Championship, the Texas Golden Gloves Championship and the USA State Boxing Championship before turning professional in 2016. From Fort Worth, Texas, the all-action Vazquez trains under Tony Cabello at Reyes Boxing Gym. Vazquez’s only losses came against future champion Raymond Ford and in world-title challenges against Joe Cordina and Rafael Espinoza.

“My opponent is a tough Venezuelan, said Vazquez, “but I will win because I’m better, faster, stronger, smarter, and more experienced at a higher level.”

34-year-old Grimardi Machuca started boxing at the relatively late age of 18 years old and compiled an impressive final amateur record of 257-18, including winning the Ringside Amateur World Championship, the Texas Golden Gloves Championship and the USA State Boxing Championship before turning professional in 2016. From Camden, New Jersey, via Guarico, Venezuela, the technically exceptional Machuca trains under Miguel Tapia at Gorilla Gym and considers his best punches the straight right hand and the left hook.

“I only know that he is aggressive,” said Machuca, “but I’ve been working toward this for a long time. I pushed myself hard during this training camp, and that’s what I work for: to win!”

The main event will see Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora making the third defense of his WBC crown against the former unified welterweight world champion Keith “One Time” Thurman in a 12-round duel for super welterweight supremacy.

Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) first rocketed to the top of the super welterweight division by dethroning Tim Tszyu via decision in 2024’s bloodiest fight, earning both the WBC and WBO titles. After defending his belts with a knockout of Chordale Booker in March of last year, Fundora put his WBC belt back on the line in a July rematch against Tszyu. This time, Fundora closed the show in style, dropping Tszyu in the first round before forcing an end to the bout after round seven. A native of Coachella, California, Fundora notably showed his mettle in April 2022, battling the hard-hitting Erickson Lubin in an instant 2022 Fight of the Year contender. Despite both men hitting the canvas, Fundora stood tall in the end, prompting Lubin’s corner to stop the fight at the end of the ninth round. The 28-year-old has defeated a slew of contenders throughout his career, with his only defeat coming to Brian Mendoza in 2023. He was set to face Australian superstar Tim Tszyu in March 2024 before being forced to withdraw due to injury, eventually returning to the ring last March with a third-round stoppage of Brock Jarvis.

MEXICO CITY-  February 4, 2026 – WBC World Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson gave a brilliant performance, defeating WBO World Super Lightweight Champion Teofimo López. 

Stevenson is now a four-time World Champion; a feat achieved by just a few boxers in history. Among those, we find Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Canelo Álvarez, and Terrence Crawford.

MONTRÉAL, February 4, 2026 — Following the medical issue that forced Albert Ramirez to withdraw from his bout against Lerrone Richards (DETAILS HERE), the spotlight now shifts to an intriguing clash between undefeated fighters Mehmet Unal (14-0, 12 KOs) and European champion Altin Zogaj (17-0, 9 KOs). The light heavyweight (175 lb) matchup will now serve as the evening’s main event.

A representative of Turkey at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Mehmet Unal signed with Eye of the Tiger in 2021 as he turned professional. Now a full-time resident of Montreal, where he is trained by Marc Ramsay, Unal will make the second defense of his WBC Continental title against Zogaj. Ranked 9th in the WBC world rankings, the powerful puncher will be seeking the biggest win of his career in his first-ever main event, against Germany’s Altin Zogaj.

In the co-main event, two-time Olympian and top-5 world contender Dzmitry Asanau (11-0, 5 KOs) will defend his WBC Continental lightweight title against Spanish champion Carlos Ramos (18-3-1, 10 KOs).

Also on the card, Thetford Mines warrior Thomas Chabot (11-1, 7 KOs) will look to get back into the win column in a regional showdown against hard-hitting Maritimes fighter Dominic Babineau (13-2-1, 11 KOs). Ariana Carrasco has signed a long-term management agreement with Trifon Petrov and Imperial Boxing. 

Carrasco started boxing at age 12 and had over 80 amateur fights. She had an impressive amateur career and won 12 national championships and was an international medalist while representing Team USA. 

Under the management of Petrov, Ariana Carrasco reunites with former teammates of Team USA, such as Reina and Gabriela Tellez, Ivy Enriquez and USA Olympian, Rashida Ellis. 

Carrasco is expected to make her professional debut in El Paso, TX in March on a card promoted by Kings Promotions.

At only 22 years old, Ariana is a US Army veteran. She served 4 years in the Army right after she graduated High School. While in the military, she continued to compete and win national titles.

MONTRÉAL, February 4, 2026 — A medical issue has forced WBA interim light heavyweight world champion Albert Ramirez to withdraw from his scheduled bout tomorrow at the Casino de Montréal against Lerrone Richards. As a result, Olympian and WBC Continental light heavyweight champion Mehmet Unal will now headline Thursday night’s event against European champion Altin Zogaj.

Despite a flawless training camp and no injuries, Albert Ramirez (22-0, 19 KOs) was hospitalized overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. Although he is still being evaluated by doctors, the medical team suspects a case of appendicitis, which unfortunately renders him unable to compete on Thursday night.

“This is a heartbreaking decision for us, for boxing fans, and especially for Albert, who was absolutely determined to fight despite everything. However, it is our responsibility as promoters to protect the health of our athletes, which is why this was the decision that had to be made,” commented Camille Estephan.

The spotlight will now be on an intriguing clash between two undefeated fighters, light heavyweights Mehmet Unal (14-0, 12 KOs) and European champion Altin Zogaj (17-0, 9 KOs), who will take center stage in the main event.

The event will feature a double main event headlined by the long-anticipated clash of MVP’s British champions, “Sweet” Caroline Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) vs. Terri “Belter” Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs), a 10-round women’s championship bout for the unified WBO and WBC lightweight world titles, contested at 135lbs. In the historic double main event, MVP and England’s unified super bantamweight world champion Ellie Scotney (11-0) will face Mexico’s WBA world champion Mayelli Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round undisputed super bantamweight championship bout contested at 122 lbs. In 2022, Harper moved up four divisions to 154lbs to win the WBA super welterweight world title. In September 2024, she moved down to 135lbs and claimed the WBO lightweight world title. With the win, she became Britain’s first-ever three-division women’s world champion. Harper made her first title defense at 135lbs in May 2025. The 29-year-old is currently ESPN’s #2 lightweight in the world.

Irma “La Torbellino” García is a professional boxer, attorney, police officer, and member of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City. In the ring, she is both a former and current world champion, having previously won the WBA bantamweight world title at 118lbs and now holds the IBF super flyweight world title at 115lbs. 

“I’m proud to make my second title defense with one of the biggest promotions in the world, MVP,” said Irma Garcia. “We know what’s in front of us—this is a serious challenge against an undefeated fighter who’s coming hungry. Emma Dolan hails from Newark, England by way of Norfolk, and is the current British and Commonwealth super flyweight champion at 115lbs. Dolan has climbed up the world rankings with consecutive wins in 2023 that saw her win and defend the Commonwealth super flyweight title. She added the British title to her collection in a ‘Fight of The Year Contender’ vs. Shannon Ryan in June 2024, and has defended both successfully. Now the IBF #1 contender, she aims to become the first British fighter to hold any version of the 115lb weight division’s titles.

WBO lightweight world champion Terri “Belter” Harper fights out of Doncaster, England. She holds a law degree with a specialization in criminal law, is a certified expert in criminalistics, has earned a master’s degree in public administration, and has received an honorary doctorate degree. With more than 22 years of service as a police officer, García graduated with honors for academic achievement from a class of 450 officers and has been awarded the Medal of Sports Merit. In the ring, she is both a former and current world champion, having captured the WBA bantamweight world title at 118lbs and now holds the IBF super flyweight world title at 115lbs. About Emma Dolan

Emma Dolan hails from Newark, England by way of Norfolk, and is the current British and Commonwealth super-flyweight champion at 115lbs. Dolan fell in love with the sport at age nine and went on to have a successful amateur career which included representing England. In her pro debut, she earned a stoppage win over fellow debutant Nicole Goldsmith Ryan in September 2021. Rising Welsh star Rhys Edwards will get his chance to shine as he faces Gully Powar for the British Featherweight Title on the undercard of Lauren Price MBE’s unified world welterweight title defence against Stephanie Pineiro Aquino on Saturday, April 4 at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff, presented by BOXXER and broadcast live and free-to-air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. 

Known as ‘Rhys Lightning’, Edwards (17-1, 4 KOS), has earned his shot at the vacant British featherweight crown with a series of impressive performances. 

The 25-year-old from Penygraig defeated former British champion Thomas Patrick Ward in Cardiff in May 2024, before stepping in at short notice to fight on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, going toe-to-toe with Peter McGrail in a contest many felt the Welshman did enough to win. 

Fighting out of the Llanrumney Phoenix Boxing Club under the tutelage of former middleweight world title challenger Gary Lockett, Edwards got back to winning ways last year with a points win over former European Champion Thomas Essomba in June. 

He will now be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Welsh greats including Joe Calzaghe, Lee Selby and Lauren Price, who all claimed British titles on their way to world honours. 

Standing in his way is Powar (13-1, 1 KO), the 23-year-old from Wolverhampton, known for his entertaining ring walks and all-action style. 

Powar was one of 32 prospects from around the world selected to compete at the WBC Boxing Grand Prix in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last year. He defeated Japhethlee Llamido in the first round before losing a points decision to eventual finalist Brandon Mejia, gaining valuable experience against top international opposition that he will carry into his upcoming British title bout. 

Rhys Edwards said: “Winning the British title has been a dream since I first started boxing. I’ve worked my whole career for this moment, and now it’s time to make it count. To get this opportunity at home in Wales is a special feeling. Gully Powar is a good fighter, but I’ll prove I’m on another level. On April 4, Wales will have another champion.”

The Boxing Writers Association of America is proud to announce that Terence Crawford has been voted by the BWAA membership as the 2025 Fighter of the Year. It is the second time Crawford has won the award, bookending an 11-year gap from his first BWAA FOY award in 2014.

The other nominees included Dmitry Bivol, Naoya Inoue, Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez and Rene Santiago.

The BWAA is also proud to announce that Mikaela Mayer will be the 2025 BWAA female Fighter of the Year, while Shadasia Green’s split-decision victory over Savannah Marshall was chosen as the BWAA 2025 female Fight of the Year.

Chris Eubank-Conor Benn I, won by Eubank in April, was the choice as the 2025 BWAA male Fight of the Year. The other worthy candidates included were Carlos Canizales KO5 Panya Pradabsri II, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz W10 Angelo Fierro, Christian Mbilli W 10 Lester Martinez and Kenshiro Teraji KO 12 Seigo Yuri Akui.

Other BWAA winners were Robert Garcia as the Trainer of the Year for the second-consecutive year, Keith Connolly as Manager of the Year, won by Connolly for the second time, Roy Jones Jr. is the Taub Award winner for excellence in broadcast journalism, Hall of Fame legend Sugar Ray Leonard will be the Good Guy award recipient, while the long and meritorious winner was John Sheppard.

Finally, Hall of Fame legend Christy Martin has been selected as the courage award winner in overcoming adversity, and former USA Today boxing writer Jon Saraceno was selected as the Nat Fleischer award winner for excellence in boxing journalism.

The award winners will be honored at the annual BWAA awards dinner, which is open to the public, later this year at a site and time to be determined.

Undefeated American Samuel Arnold III continued his rise in the super middleweight division with a dominant first-round knockout of Argentina’s Fernando Ezequiel “Manzana” Farías. The bout took place Friday, January 30, in Long Beach, California, with Arnold’s WBA NABA title on the line.

Standing at an imposing 6-foot-3, Arnold wasted no time putting his physical advantages to use. After a brief feeling-out process, the Texan unleashed a crushing body shot to the liver that sent the Junín native crashing to the canvas.

Despite Farías’ experience on the international stage, the impact of the punch was decisive. The referee administered the count, but the fight was effectively over, bringing a swift end to the contest.

With the victory, Arnold III improves his record to a perfect 15-0, including 10 knockouts, and closes another successful chapter in his run as regional champion. Farías, meanwhile, drops to 13 wins, 4 losses and 3 draws.

The first-round stoppage further boosts Arnold’s standing in the World Boxing Association rankings, where he is now knocking on the door of the top tier in the super middleweight division.

British globetrotter Prince Patel added another belt to his ever-growing résumé, delivering a statement performance on Thai soil. Fighting in the main event last Saturday, January 31, at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok, Patel captured the WBA Asia Gold super lightweight title with a fifth-round technical knockout over Tanzania’s Yahaya Mussa.

Patel, who has spent much of his recent career competing across international venues, figured Mussa out early. From the opening rounds, the Brit steadily broke down his opponent, imposing his rhythm and range. The end came in the fifth, when Patel’s punch volume and accuracy overwhelmed Mussa’s defenses, prompting the referee to step in and halt the contest to prevent further punishment.

With the win in Thailand’s capital, Patel improves his professional record to 34-1-2, cementing his reputation as one of the most active fighters on the WBA Asia circuit. Mussa, meanwhile, suffered the first loss of his career and now stands at 11-1-1, with 11 knockouts.

The newly acquired regional crown keeps Patel firmly positioned among the top contenders in the rankings, fueling speculation about a future shot at the regular WBA Asia title.

In a fight packed with knockdowns, point deductions and constant swings of momentum, Argentina’s Juan Cruz Uncos survived the chaos to capture the WBA Fedelatin super bantamweight title, earning a unanimous decision victory over Alan Cantero. The bout, held this weekend in Buenos Aires, turned into a true test of durability, discipline and composure for both fighters.

Uncos came out firing and appeared on the verge of an early stoppage after a blistering start. Cantero hit the canvas in the second, third and fourth rounds, repeatedly undone by the power and timing of the newly crowned champion. What looked like a one-sided affair, however, evolved into a grueling battle due to Unco’s own rule infractions.

Despite his dominance in exchanges, Uncos was docked two points during the fight: the first in the third round, moments after scoring a knockdown, and the second in the tenth. Those penalties allowed Cantero to remain mathematically alive on the scorecards deep into the contest.

After ten rounds of unusually high intensity, the judges turned in scores of 93-92, 96-89 and 94-92, all in favor of Uncos. With the unanimous decision, Uncos secures the black-and-gold regional belt and moves forward in his career, while Cantero—despite suffering three knockdowns—proved his toughness by pushing the fight to the final bell.

addition of Albanian heavyweight Kristian “KP” Prenga (19-1, 19 KOs) to its growing roster of professional boxers. A former 2-time European kickboxing champion, Prenga clearly made a successful transition to professional boxing.

Now fighting out of Edgewater, New Jersey, the 34-year-old Prenga is an imposing figure, standing 6’ 5” and weighing 260 pounds. The heavy-hitter has a maximum knockout percentage of 100%, 19-for-19, and he is riding a 15-fight win streak.  His lone loss was 9 years ago to Govanni Auriemma, by way of points (77-74) in their 8-round bout in Albania. It was Prenga’s fifth pro fight.

Prenga had zero amateur matches in boxing before turning pro.

“I first started boxing in 2016 when I was 25,” Prenga explained. “I kickboxed before that and started boxing for fun. It wasn’t a hard transition, and I’ve enjoyed boxing a lot more than kickboxing.”

In a relatively short time, Prenga has built a passionate fanbase, especially among Albanians living in the New York/New Jersey area.

“I needed a manager to get big fights, one who is good at his job and believes in me,” Prenga said. “That’s why I signed with Keith Sullivan because he will do that so I can just focus on training.”

“All of my 19 wins have ended in knockouts because I’m a big puncher. Like every fighter, I want to be the champion of the world, and now all I need is ring experience.”

NEW BEDFORD, MA – Some fighters are given opportunities. Others earn them.

For ‘Prince’ Ray Oliveira Jr. (10-4, 2 KOs), the opportunity arrives on February 7, when the 35-year-old New Bedford native headlines ‘Winter Brawl 2026’ against unbeaten Providence standout Victor Reynoso (11-0, 7 KOs) in a New England welterweight showdown.

On paper, Reynoso brings momentum, power, and the sheen of an unblemished record.  Oliveira Jr.’s record defines a man who has gained perspective from years of preparation, sacrifice, and hard luck in fights that didn’t always materialize.

“I’m just here to handle business,” said an introspective Oliveira about the bout.  “I miss getting in the ring and doing my thing, and I’m ready to go out there and perform.”

Raised in New Bedford and immersed in boxing from birth, Oliveira Jr. carries a name that resonates through New England gyms. His father, former IBU welterweight champion Ray ‘Sucra’ Oliveira, was a mainstay on USA’s popular ‘Tuesday Night Fights’ series.  ‘Sucra’ instilled in Ray Jr. an early respect for both the highs and lows of the sport. That upbringing didn’t just teach him how to fight – it taught him how to wait.

“A couple years ago, I actually decided I was gonna retire,” admitted Oliveira Jr., who stepped away from the ring in 2021 before returning last February. “I had another child, my wife and I bought a house, and I started a career in construction. I was enjoying my life as a father and a husband.”

Ray’s decision wasn’t based on falling out of love with boxing. It was about accepting reality and responsibility.

“The biggest thing was my inability to find competitors that wouldn’t back out,” reflected Oliveira of the key reason why he stepped away. “I’d go through three or four opponents and still not end up with a fight. You train, sign contracts, do press, live the lifestyle, and then there’s no fight.”

That grind, Oliveira explained, is what fans rarely see.

“They assume you’re getting paid for one day’s work, but that’s not the case. There’s so much preparation – mental, physical, spiritual, that happens in a six-to-eight-week camp. You sacrifice time with your loved ones, and when there’s no result, it’s disheartening.”

Family ultimately tipped the scales in favor of a civilian life.

“I love my children. I love being a family man,” he said. “For me, the family is more important than boxing. It didn’t make sense to take all that time away from my family and bring nothing back.”
Still, the fight never left him.

“It’s in me. It’s always in me,” Oliveira confessed. “I’m a fighter. That’s why I came back last year and why I’m challenging myself on February 7.”

Across the ring from Oliveira on February 7 will be Victor Reynoso, a tall, rangy fighter who often enjoys engaging in slugfests. 

“I’ve got a lot of respect for my opponent for taking this fight,” Oliveira said of Reynoso. “He’s undefeated and he likes to go to war.  I’m well known for my power, so he’s taking a big risk. I appreciate him agreeing to combat with me.”

Fighting close to home, Reynoso carries the confidence, swagger, and momentum of an undefeated prospect. Oliveira represents something different: experience, patience, and an understanding that moments like this are earned, not given.

There’s another layer to fight night as well. Ray ‘Sucra’ Oliveira will not just be ringside watching the action, but he will be in his son’s corner serving as head trainer.

“It makes my heart beat a little fast having my dad there,” said Oliveira Jr. “It definitely makes me want to fight harder and come out with the victory.”

On February 7, under the bright lights of the Park Theater, this fight represents more than a regional turf war, it will be a meeting of timelines.  A main event where youth meets experience and where Ray Oliveira Jr. looks to claim a moment that he’s waited long enough to enjoy.

Viloria, 134.5 lbs of Whittier, CA won by scores of 79-73, 78-74 and 77-75 and is now 12-0. Perez, 134.5 lbs of Houston is 14-1-2.

Damoni Cato-Cain won an eight-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Christian Morales in a junior middleweight bout.

Cat-Cain outlanded Morales 137-100.

Cato-Cain, 148 lbs won by scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 77-75 and is 9-1-2. Morales, 151 lbs of Las Vegas is 7-1.

Damazian Vanhouter stopped Leo Gomez in round three of their six-round heavyweight bout.

In round one, Vanhouter landed a big combination that was featured by a left hook to the body and dropped Gomez with a right uppercut. In round three, Vanhouter landed a furious 13-puncg combination that forced a stoppage at 1:27

Vanhouter, 217 lbs of St. Petersburg, FL is 11-0 with eight knockouts. Gomez, 277 lbs of Reynosa, MEX is 7-4.

Jamar Talley stopped Devonte Williams in round two of their six-round cruiserweight fight.

In round two, Williams tried to throw an overhand right but got countered by a short right hand to head that sent him down for the count.

Talley, 185 lbs of Camden, NJ is 6-0 with five knockouts. Williams, 199.5 lbs of South Park, TX is 13-4.

NEW YORK, NY–Shakur Stevenson won the WBO Junior Welterweight title with a master class 12-round unanimous decision over Teofimo Lopez before a record crowd of over 21,000 at Madison Square Garden.

Stevemson boxed beautifully by keeping quality distance that never allowed Lopez to find any offensive rhythm. Stevenson was also able to keep Lopez away with a long jab throughout the contest. Stevenson reaffirmed his status as maybe the best defensive fighter in the sport.

Stevenson won by scores of 119-10 on all cards.

Keyshawn Davis Stops Jamaine Ortiz in 12

Keyshawn Davis made a successful super lightweight debut with a 12th and final round stoppage over Jamaine Ortiz.

At the beginning of round 11, the left eye of Ortiz was swollen shut. In the round, Davis dropped Ortiz with a perfect left to the body. In round 12, it was another left to the body sent Ortiz to the canvas and the fight was stopped at 2:47.

Davis of Norfolk, VA is now 14-0 with 10 stoppages. Ortiz of Worcester, MA is 20-3-1.

Carrington Knocks Out Castro in 9 to Win Featherweight Belt

Bruce Carrington knocked out Carlos Castro in round nine to win the WBC Featherweight title.

In round nine, Carrington landed a right hand that hurt and froze Castro. Carrington then landed a crushing right, left and another right on the jaw of a prone Castro then sent him on the deck and the count was reached at 1:29.

Carringon of Brooklyn is now 17-0 with 10 knockouts. Castro of Phoenix is 30-4.

Jarrell Miller Wins; Loses Hairpiece

Jarrell Miller won a 10-round split decision over Kingsley Ibeh in a heavyweight bout.

It was a closely contested bout and in round two, Ibeh landed a little left hand that sent the follicles of Miller out of the ring.

awards ceremony Friday night in New York City.

Hiruta, (10-0, 2 KOs), traveled to Southern California and was victorious in four world title fights in 2025, winning the WBO title and making three dominant defenses against top competition. No other female fighter had as many world title fights in 2025.

Hiruta won a remarkable 109 rounds out of a possible 114 scored (three judges) in 2025 within the four world title fights which included three 10-round decisions and one eighth round stoppage.
