NORTON, MA – Whether she is patrolling the streets of Norton or stalking an opponent inside the ring, Melanie “Pitbull” Costa (3-1, 1 KO) has never been one to back down from a challenge.

On Saturday, August 29, the five-time national amateur champion returns to action for the first time in 18 months to face 14-fight veteran Brittany Dukes in a four-round bantamweight showdown on Boston Harbor Fight Night 2, a loaded 10-bout card presented by CES Boxing in association with Granite Chin Promotions.  The action takes place at Encore Boston Harbor in Everett, Massachusetts.

2025 was a difficult year for the Norton native.  In February, Costa suffered the first loss of her professional career.  A few months later, her father became ill, prompting Melanie to take time away from the sport.

“Family always comes first, and my father was diagnosed with stomach cancer,” revealed Costa. “I kept training in the gym, but I put boxing on the back burner. I wasn’t in fighting shape.”

With her father’s cancer now in remission, Costa is ready to resume the pursuit of her lifelong dream: becoming a world champion.

It is a fitting return for a fighter whose career has always been built around resilience.

Costa began boxing at just 12 years old after deciding karate wasn’t intense enough for her. By 13, she was competing in amateur bouts, beginning a journey that eventually developed her into one of the most accomplished female amateur boxers in New England.

Costa became a multiple-time National Golden Gloves champion and competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials during two different Olympic cycles. She reached the final eight of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials at 112 pounds, where she shared the ring with Olympic bronze medalist and future professional world champion Marlen Esparza.  Costa made another run at the Olympics at 125 pounds before eventually turning professional in 2023.

Her accomplishments extend beyond the ring. In April 2025, Costa was honored by the International Women’s Boxing Hall of Fame in Las Vegas as one of the Women Cops Who Box. The event was part of the hall of fame induction weekend festivities, recognizing women who have balanced careers in law enforcement with their pursuit of excellence in boxing.

It is a balancing act Costa knows well.

“Whether it’s in the ring or on the job, you have to be ready for anything,” said Costa of the similarities between her two professions.  “Boxing taught me to push myself through any circumstance, and that mindset followed me into policing.  Just like you never know who you’re getting in the ring with, you have to be prepared for anything that can happen as an officer.”

While both jobs are physically demanding, it is the mental fortitude that each require that allow Melanie to persevere through difficult times. 

“In both, you have to be determined to succeed,” said Costa.  “Just like I want to become a world champion, I want to do the best I can to protect my community.  Not every day is going to be easy, but it takes a positive mindset and lots of drive and motivation to push through those tough days.”

That mentality will be on display August 29, when Melanie returns to the ring for the first time since dropping a four-round split decision to the undefeated Shannel Butler.

“Mentally, I wasn’t there,” reflects Costa of the fight. “I didn’t fight my fight and I let my opponent fight her fight. I took the loss hard, but I thought about what I had to do, got back in the gym, and improved physically and mentally.”

Anyone who has watched ‘Pitbull’ fight knows exactly what Costa means by fighting her fight.

As her nickname suggests, the 5-foot Costa is naturally an inside fighter. She comes forward behind a high guard, attacks the body, applies constant pressure and looks to turn every bout into the kind of close quarters battle she has enjoyed since she first walked into a boxing gym as a 12-year-old.

“I’m an action-packed fighter,” agreed Costa.  “I’m aggressive and I keep coming forward.  I apply pressure, and I stay on my opponent.”

That entertaining style has allowed Melanie to develop a loyal following that has supported her throughout her career.

“My crowd goes where I fight,” said Costa. “Fighting at Encore will bring more of them out because it’s closer to home. I’m so happy to receive the support of my family, friends and fans.”

Most importantly, one person who has been there since the beginning will be beside her every step of the way.

“My father will be walking me out to the ring with my coaches, and he will be in my corner for the fight,” said Costa.  “That gives me all the motivation I need.”

August 19, 2026 — British heavyweight star Johnny Fisher will return to his home turf against Michael Pirotton in the 10-round main event of ZUFFA BOXING 11 on Saturday, September 26, at London’s Copper Box Arena.

“The Romford Bull” will headline at the “Copper Bosh” for the third time, with thousands of the devoted “Romford Bull Army” expected to pack the arena. 

Fisher (14-1, 12 KOs) makes his Zuffa Boxing debut following an eventful 2025 campaign that saw him suffer the first defeat of his professional career in a rematch against Dave Allen at the Copper Box Arena. Less than seven months later, he returned to stop the previously unbeaten Ivan Balaz in four rounds.

“I can’t wait to be back at the Copper Bosh on September 26 and bring another huge night of boxing to London,” Fisher said. “Bull Army, get ready, because it’s going to be a fantastic show. Pirotton is an experienced, powerful heavyweight who can’t be taken lightly.”

Pirotton (12-2, 6 KOs), a native of Liège, Belgium, made his professional debut in 2019 and won his first 10 fights. After dropping a pair of decisions to unbeaten foes in 2025, he rebounded this year with two stoppage victories. The 6-foot-5 Pirotton, who has defeated three previously undefeated prospects, has never been knocked down. 

Pirotton said, “I have been working towards an opportunity like this my entire career, and the time has come. I know it’s going to be a massive crowd of Johnny Fisher fans, but I’ll be ready. Respect to Johnny and the Romford Bull Army, but he’s in for a tough night.”

Former world title challenger Michael Zerafa stopped Alejandro Ortiz in round eight of their 10-round middleweight bout.

In round eight, Zerafa dropped Ortiz with a big right hand and left off the ropes. The bout was stopped after the round.

Parr Decisions Peart

Jasmine Parr won an eight-round unanimous decision over Jemma Peart in a flyweight contest.

Parr, 112.1 lbs of Queensland, AUS won by scores of 80-72 scores on all cards and is now 9-2. Peart, 111.7 lbs of Queensland, AUS is 9-2.

Bowen Stops Dalielbieke in 7

Jack Bowen stopped Miellfeier Dakielbieke in round seven of an eight-round super middleweight fight.

In round seven, Bowem hurt Daliebieke with a right hand finished off the fight with a vicious flurry at 2:15.

Bowen, 167.6 lbs of Brisbane is 14-1 with 11 knockouts. Dalielbieke, 167.3 lbs is 10-4.

El-Abdallah stops Towns After 3

Omar El-Abdallah stopped Jordan Towns after round three of their five-round light heavyweight bout.

In round three, El-Abdallah dropped Towns with a right hand that followed by a flurry on the ropes. Later in the round, El-Abdallah landed a big barrage of punches that was highlighted by a flush right hand that caused a second knockdown. The fight was stopped after the round.

For nearly a decade, Calgary, Alberta’s own Steve Claggett (40-9-2, 28 KOs) captured the hearts of Quebec boxing fans. **MARCO ROMERO VS. KAHLIL MITCHELL**

A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Romero (14-0, 12 KOs) had a stellar amateur career that included 23-national titles, most notably winning the 2024 National Golden Gloves title where he was named Outstanding Boxer of the Tournament. The 20-year-old turned pro in 2024 and has shown a propensity for ending fights early, with 11 of his 12 KO’s coming within three rounds. Trained by top trainer John Brown, Romero added three victories against increasingly stiff competition in 2026.

“I’m super excited to be fighting in Las Vegas, especially on this great PBC card at T-Mobile Arena,” said Romero. “It’s all a little surreal; I pinch myself every morning when I get up. For any fighter, we dream of fighting in Las Vegas. I fought in Las Vegas once as amateur, but this will be my first pro fight here and I can’t wait to get in the ring.”

The 30-year-old Mitchell (6-1, 4 KOs) enters the ring having bounced back from defeat to score knockout victories in back-to-back contests. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mitchell rode a four-fight winning streak into his only career defeat, which came via a narrow majority decision against Jamar Pemberton in December 2024.

**JOSEPH BROWN VS. ALTON WIGGINS**

The 19-year-old Brown (7-0, 5 KOs) has shown off his prodigious talent since turning pro in 2023, dominating against his early competition. Born in Vero Beach, Florida, Brown’s family moved to Canada shortly after, where his father Martin trained him in multiple combat sports before embarking on an accolade-filled amateur boxing career. His most recent action came in February as he stopped Claudio Adan Gamboa in round one. He will be opposed by the 30-year-old Wiggins (3-2-1), a native of Oakland, California who went 2-1 in 2025 before losing a decision to unbeaten Javier Guerrero Cruz in June.

**ALDO BLANCAS VS. RICKY MAMONE**

The younger brother of super middleweight prospect Daniel, Blancas (2-0, 2 KOs) has made a successful transition to his pro career in 2026, scoring a pair of quick knockouts in March and May. The 19-year-old Milwaukee-native trains alongside his brother as part of David Benavidez’s camp and will return to fight in Las Vegas for the second time after making his pro debut on the Fundora vs. Thurman card in March. He will be opposed by Hawaii’s Mamone (0-0-1), who made his pro debut in March, fighting the unbeaten Dillan Nguyen to a split-draw. The 22-year-old will bring both professional and extensive amateur MMA experience to the ring against Blancas.

Britain’s most exciting Amateur fighter Odel Kamara has officially turned professional today and has signed promotional terms with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.

The 22-year-old from Liverpool will be trained by the legendary Tony Sims in Essex and news of his debut will be announced imminently.

As an amateur, the Super Welterweight represented Great Britain, fighting out of Salisbury Amateur Boxing Club, where he won seven national titles, including the coveted Senior Elite Championship. 

Kamara’s incredible success earned him a place on the GB Boxing programme, where he continued to develop against some of the world’s leading amateur fighters.

The proud Merseyside man enjoyed a breakthrough 2024 on the international circuit, winning gold at the Dacal Memorial World Cup before claiming the 71kg title at the World Boxing Cup Finals in Sheffield. 

In the Final, he defeated Japan’s Sewon Okazawa by unanimous decision to secure one of the biggest victories of his Amateur career.

His most significant achievement came last year, when he represented England at the World Boxing Championships in his home city of Liverpool. 

Competing at 70kg, Kamara produced a series of impressive performances to claim a bronze medal, including a unanimous-decision victory over Canada’s Kuwardeep Manu after remarkably flooring his opponent just three seconds into the opening round.

Now that Matchroom Boxing has won the race for his in-demand signature, Kamara is ready to unleash his skills on the biggest stage – live on the Global Home of Boxing, DAZN.

Kamara said: “After my decision to turn professional, my attention was firmly on who I thought was best to guide me to the very top of this sport.

Claressa Shields regained the WBA and WBC Middleweight title with a sixth round stoppage of Kaye Scott in front of a sold out crowd at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

In round one, Scott suffered a welt on her forehead above he left eye.

In round six, Shields landed a big left hook that set off a flurry that was finished off by a right hand that sent Scott stumbling into the ropes for a knockdown. With Scott hurt, Shields jumped on her prey and three towels were thrown in for the stoppage at 1:38.

Shields, 159.6 lbs of Flint, MI is 17-0 with four knockouts. Scott, 159.9 lbs of Sydney, AUS is 5-2-1.

Isley Decisions Hicks

Troy Isley remained undefeated with a lackluster 10-round unanimous decision over Joseph Hicks in a middleweight fights of amateur rivlas.

Isley landed 103 of 382 punches. Hicks was 99 of 250.

Isley, 160.2 lbs of Alexandria, VA won by scores of 97-92 and 96-93 twice and is now 17-0. Hicks, 160 lbs of Grand Rapids, MI is 12-2.

Ferreira Defeats Veyre By Disqualification; Wins Super Featherweight Title

Ashleyann Lozada won a 10-round unanimous decision over Paulette Cuesta in a super bantamweight fight.

Loxada landed 130 of 339 punches. Cuesta was 55 of 213.

Lozada, 121.2 lbs of San Juan, PR won by scores of 100-90 twice and 99-91 and is now 5-0. Cuesta, 122 lbs of Los Angels is 19-6-1.

Ferreira Wins Super Featherweight Title via Disqualification over Veyre

Bernice Ferreira won the WBC Super Featherweight Title with win via disqualification in round eight.

In round five, Veyre was deducted a point for holding. In round eight, Veyre was cited again and the fight was called at 1:08.

Ferreira, 129.2 lbs of Johannesburg, SA is 11-0. Veyre, 129.6 lbs of Montreal is 11-2.

In the 10-round main event. Izaiah Dent (11-0, 9 KOs) remained undefeated with a split decision victory over Chavon Stillwell (10-1, 8 KOs), capturing the WBA/NABA light heavyweight title and handing Stillwell the first defeat of his professional career. Both fighters had their moments throughout the competitive bout, but Dent was the busier fighter and did enough to earn the victory. The judges scored the fight 98-92 and 96-94 for Dent, while the third judge had it 96-95 for Stillwell.

“I knew I had to stay active and keep the pressure on him,” Dent said. “He came to fight and made me work for every round, but I believed I did enough to get the win. Becoming a champion and giving him his first loss makes this victory even more special. I’m only getting started.”

In the eight round co-main event, Jayden Britton (10-0, 6 KOs) remained undefeated with a unanimous decision victory over Bruno Pola Ruiz (11-5-2, 9 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round super middleweight bout. Britton consistently landed the cleaner shots throughout the fight, earning scorecards of 80-72, 78-74, and 77-75, all in his favor. With the victory, Britton captured the WBA/NABA super middleweight title.

Undercard Bouts:

Daniel Grandy (5-0, 3 KOs) remained undefeated with a unanimous decision victory over Eduardo Tarango (1-6). Grandy applied relentless pressure throughout the fight, earning scorecards of 40-36, 40-36, and 39-36, all in his favor.

Steven Grandy (5-0, 5 KOs) defeated Gerardo Reyes (3-5, 2 KOs) by second-round TKO. Grandy battered Reyes throughout the opening round, with Reyes suffering a severe cut in the process. Grandy continued to apply pressure in round two before the bout was stopped at the 2:21 mark.

Mauro Sierra (13-0, 7 KOs) remained undefeated with a unanimous decision victory over Miguel Menchaca (4-2-1, 1 KO) in a scheduled six-round bantamweight bout, capturing the ABO title. Sierra used his superior boxing skills and movement to outbox Menchaca throughout the contest, controlling the action and landing the cleaner shots. The judges scored the bout 49-46, 49-46, and 50-45, all in favor of Sierra.

John Torres (13-0-1, 8 KOs) defeated Ryan Adams (12-13-1, 7 KOs) by unanimous decision in a scheduled six-round super middleweight bout. Torres faced an early scare when Adams dropped him with a powerful right hook in round two. Torres recovered and began outworking Adams as the fight progressed, taking advantage as Adams faded in the later rounds. The judges scored the bout 57-56 twice and 58-55, all in favor of Torres.

In a battle of undefeated fighters in bout five, Mauricio Quintanilla (8-0, 4 KOs) handed Jerrell Mayweather (5-1, 3 KOs) his first professional defeat, scoring a second-round TKO in a scheduled six-round welterweight bout. Quintanilla dropped Mayweather with an overhand right in the opening round and sent him to the canvas again with a flurry of punches later in the round. Quintanilla continued the pressure in round two, dropping Mayweather for a third time with another barrage to bring the bout to an end at the 1:35 mark.

In bout four, Joshua Franco (5-0, 3 KOs), a southpaw, defeated Roberto Castro (3-5, 1 KO) by fourth-round TKO in a scheduled four-round welterweight bout. After dominating the first three rounds, Franco closed the show with a flurry of combinations, with his straight left proving particularly effective. The stoppage came at the 2:12 mark of round four.

Ivan Vasquez (12-2-2, 9 KOs) defeated Eduy Bernardo (27-12, 19 KOs) by first-round knockout in a scheduled four-round middleweight bout. Vasquez dropped Bernardo with a straight left midway through the opening round before finishing him with a barrage of punches at the 2:54 mark.

Ty Cassell (5-0, 3 KOs) defeated Charles Scott Jr. (1-6, 1 KO) by third-round TKO in a scheduled four-round super lightweight bout. After two closely contested rounds, Cassell caught Scott with a right-left-right combination that brought the fight to an end at 2:18 of round three.

Roy Knight (4-1, 3 KOs) defeated Bryan Springs (3-19-3, 1 KO) by unanimous decision in a four-round middleweight bout. All three judges scored the fight 40-36.

MONTREAL, August 14, 2026 — The Théâtre Capitole of Quebec City will be the site of a historic night on October 8, as EOTTM presents a card featuring a record nine titles on the line, including three world championships. Osleys Iglesias will defend his unified IBF and IBO titles against undefeated Oliver Zaren, while Wilkens Mathieu will face Vladimir Shishkin in a bid to retain his NABF title.

“Historic is a term that is often overused in sports, but this time, the numbers speak for themselves: nine titles on the line at a single card in Quebec is simply unprecedented. It is all the more exciting for us to present an event of this magnitude at the Capitole, one of the most beautiful venues in North America, where every seat gives our fans the opportunity to be at the heart of the action,” said Eye of the Tiger President Camille Estephan.

In the main event, one of the most feared champions in boxing, Osleys ‘El Tornado’ Iglesias (15-0, 14 KO), will make the first defense of his IBF world title, as well as the fifth defense of his IBO super-middleweight title. Last April, the Cuban-born fighter captured the vacant IBF title by handing Russia’s Pavel Silyagin his first defeat, forcing him to retire after eight rounds. Prior to that, Iglesias earned his world title opportunity by stopping another Russian contender, Vladimir Shishkin, also in the eighth round. Those two stoppage victories are a reflection of his career as a whole: with an impressive 93% KO ratio, Iglesias leads all current world champions, across all weight classes, in that category.

Undefeated contender Oliver ‘The Great Dane’ Zaren (19-0-1, 8 KO), however, has no fear of stepping into the eye of the storm as he looks to write his own page in history. A former super-middleweight Intercontinental champion and current IBF #5 world contender, the Dane has fought across Europe, including for the European title. He is now trained by none other than legendary Mikkel Kessler, considered by many to be the greatest Danish boxer of all time. Zaren will therefore arrive in Québec with the ambition of becoming the first Dane since his mentor to bring a world title back home.

“This fight is a dream come true for me, a dream I have cherished since childhood, and one that will ultimately come true with my victory. Osleys Iglesias is strong, tall, powerful, and I know he scares even the world’s elite… but not me, because I know my level. On October 8, I will not come to Québec as a visitor. I will come as a conqueror,” said Scandinavian warrior Oliver Zaren.

In the co-main event, the youngest contender in the world’s top 15 at super-middleweight, Wilkens Mathieu (16-0, 11 KO), will look to continue his rapid rise as he defends his North American (NABF) title against former world title challenger Vladimir Shishkin (17-2, 11 KO). Last June, the Québec fighter became the first to stop Olympic medalist Esquiva Falcao, in the first main event of the first gala held at the Capitole de Québec. That victory, following his October win over Shakeel Phinn, propelled the Québec native into the rankings of all four major sanctioning bodies in his division, including #8 WBC, #14 WBA, and #15 WBO and IBF. However, the 21-year-old athlete is not aiming for the top 15, top 10, or even top 5. He has his sights set on the summit, and he intends to get there sooner rather than later.

“After beating Vladimir Shishkin, William Scull and Osleys Iglesias both went on to fight for world titles. So I sincerely hope the same thing happens for me, because I already feel ready to beat anyone in the world at 168 pounds,” said the ever-confident Wilkens Mathieu.

Like Mathieu, Québec headliner Leïla Beaudoin (15-2, 2 KO) will also return to the Capitole de Québec for her second consecutive fight at the venue. After winning the WBA interim world championship at super-featherweight (130 lb) by dominating Colombia’s Paulina Angel last June, the Bas-Saint-Laurent native, who became the third Québec woman in history to win a world title, will make her first defense against a contender to be announced shortly.

“My training camp has just begun, but I already feel ready to face anyone. Winning a world title is one thing and defending it is another, but once again, I’ll have the crowd behind me and I don’t intend to disappoint my fans on October 8,” said Témiscouata’s pride and joy, Leïla Beaudoin.

In what will be the first fight between two EOTTM fighters in more than five years, two-time Olympian and two-time (WBC and IBF) continental lightweight champion, Dzmitry Asanau (13-0, 7 KO), will face Montreal’s NABF champion, Luis Santana (16-0, 7 KO), in another clash between undefeated fighters.

“We’re talking about a ‘Tiger vs. Tiger’ fight, but in the jungle, only one can be king. And the crown isn’t given, it’s taken,” said Luis Santana, who was victorious in a local showdown in his most recent outing against Montreal’s Chann Thonson.

“Our motto is simple: we refuse no one. I have a lot of respect for Luis Santana and his team. He is a man and a boxer I appreciate, but this time, our paths cross. One zero will have to disappear from someone’s record, and I intend to make sure it isn’t Dzmitry’s,” said the trainer of the Belarusian-born fighter, Samuel Décarie-Drolet, whose protégé is ranked #3 by the WBC and #4 by the IBF.

The card will also feature the return of Marc Ramsay protégé, Olympic medalist and top-five world contender Imam Khataev (12-1, 11 KO), who will defend his NABF light heavyweight title against Irish contender Padraig McCrory (20-2, 10 KO). The warrior from Thetford Mines, Thomas Chabot (13-1, 8 KO), will also put his WBC featherweight continental title on the line against Spanish veteran Jose Antonio Sanchez (18-3-1, 6 KO).

The next generation will also be showcased on this nine-fight card. EOTTM prospect Erik Israyelyan (6-0, 4 KO) will face Canadian prospect Jesse Frank Sallows (6-1, 5 KO). In an all-Québec clash, Lanaudière boxer Jacob Blais (0-1) will take on Capitale-Nationale native Yoan Trottier (0-2), while popular Trois-Rivières native Daylen Pepin (2-1) will also be in action against an opponent to be announced shortly.

Undefeated middleweight contender Francis ‘Frank the Tank’ Hogan (22-0, 17 KOs) returns to the venue where he won the NABF Middleweight Championship to headline another outstanding night of boxing.  

Weymouth’s Hogan, one of the fastest-rising middleweights in the country, puts his unbeaten record on the line in the eight-round main event against dangerous Argentine veteran Ricardo Villalba (20-12-1, 8 KOs). Villalba has built a reputation as a durable spoiler willing to travel anywhere in the world to face top opposition, making him another important test as Hogan continues his pursuit of a world title opportunity.

The co-feature showcases one of the most intriguing matchups of the evening as social media star turned legitimate heavyweight prospect Chase DeMoor (6-2-1, 6 KOs) squares off against Scituate’s hard-hitting Kevin Nagle (11-1, 8 KOs) for the vacant WBC US Silver Heavyweight Championship. With two heavy-handed punchers vying for their first professional title, fans can expect fireworks.

Topping an outstanding undercard is a New England super lightweight showdown between Dorchester’s Jonathan DePina (15-2, 7 KOs) and New Britain, Connecticut’s Anthony Mora (7-9-1, 4 KOs).  DePina, riding a three-fight winning streak dating back to 2023, is coming off a dominant win at Encore in November against the previously unbeaten Elijah Peixoto. In Mora, he faces an active veteran who will step into the ring for the fourth time this year.    

Londonderry, New Hampshire prospect Jaydell ‘The Pazmanian Devil’ Pazmino (9-0, 8 KOs) makes his first start of 2026 against Rhode Island’s Keenan Raymond in a six round super welterweight contest.

Several top female prospects will be in action, as Hyde Park bantamweight Jennifer Perella (5-1, 1 KO) takes on Texan Chantal Sumrall, while Norton police officer Melanie ‘Pitbull’ Costa (3-1, 1 KO) looks to rebound from the first loss of her professional career when she takes on battle-tested Brittany Dukes of Kansas City.

MONTREAL, August 13, 2026 — A recurring elbow injury that recently resurfaced in training has prompted Quebec boxer Alexandre Gaumont to reflect on his future and ultimately make the decision to hang up his professional boxing gloves today.

“The most important thing for me is to thank all my fans who have been there and supported me since the beginning of my career. Thanks to you, we brought boxing back to the Outaouais, and I had the chance to headline two events in front of my hometown crowd, in a packed venue chanting ‘Gaumont! Gaumont! Gaumont!’ You allowed a kid from a small town to live his dream, and I will be eternally grateful,” shared Alexandre Gaumont.

The pride of Buckingham, in the Outaouais region, stood out from the very beginning of his amateur career, where he maintained a KO ratio of more than 80% — a rare feat in Olympic boxing. After several dozen fights, during which he notably won the Golden Gloves championship, he ultimately decided to bring his power to the professional ranks with EOTTM in 2021.

From there, the middleweight (160 lb) prospect quickly climbed the ranks, winning thirteen consecutive fights. Among them, the fan favorite headlined two events at Casino Lac-Leamy. In the first, in October 2024, he notably demolished Uruguayan champion Andres Viera in just two rounds in a bout broadcast on ESPN+. In April 2025, he then impressed against French champion Mathis Lourenco, against whom he earned the Knockout of the Night. Last April, still trained by his father, Marcellin Gaumont, he bounced back from the only loss of his career by defeating Croatian puncher Luka Lozo by decision.

Retiring on a victory, the 30-year-old athlete now concludes his professional career with 14 wins, including 9 KOs, in 15 fights.

“Alex can definitely walk away with his head held high. Very few boxers have accomplished as much as he has in just 15 fights. To put it into perspective, headlining an event on an American network like ESPN+ is already rare, but doing so after just 11 fights is simply extraordinary. Originally, Alexandre Gaumont was scheduled to return to the ring on September 3 at Casino de Montréal as part of the #PerezMchunu gala. To keep the card at seven fights, Montreal puncher, three-time national champion and five-time provincial amateur champion Nickenson Denis (1-0, 1 KO) will now get the opportunity to compete on the Quebec promoter’s card.

August 13, 2026 – Former world title challenger Craig “Spider” Richards will take on Radivoje “Hot Rod” Kalajdzic in a crossroads 10-round light heavyweight showdown on Saturday, September 26, as part of ZUFFA BOXING 11 at London’s Copper Box Arena.

Richards vs. Kalajdzic will serve as the chief support bout to the 10-round heavyweight main event featuring Romford’s Johnny Fisher. An opponent for Fisher will be announced in the coming days.

London native Richards (20-4-1, 13 KOs) is a world-ranked former British champion who gave long-reigning world champion Dmitry Bivol all he could handle in their 2021 title fight. He went 2-0 in 2025, including a KO over former British, Commonwealth, and English champion Dan Azeez.

The bout will mark new territory for the hard-hitting, Serbian-born Kalajdzic (30-3, 22 KOs), who will fight outside North America for the first time as a professional. Kalajdzic was victorious at ZUFFA BOXING 02 in February, rising from knockdowns in the first and fourth rounds to score a seventh-round stoppage over former world champion Oleksandr “The Nail” Gvozdyk. 

ZUFFA BOXING 11 will also showcase a 10-round middleweight showdown between British bruisers Lee Cutler and Louis Greene. Cutler (16-2, 8 KOs) last fought on ZUFFA BOXING 07 in his hometown of Bournemouth, stopping Aaron Sutton in three rounds. Greene (19-4, 12 KOs), a former Commonwealth super welterweight champion, earned a decision over Daniel Buciuc last week on ZUFFA BOXING 10 in Dublin.

Many of Zuffa’s top prospects are also scheduled to appear on the bill, including welterweight Alex MacMillan (4-0, 3 KOs), light heavyweight Leon Hughes (5-0, 4 KOs), and Team GB amateur standout Kayla Allen, who will make her professional debut in a six-round bout. Essex native Fred Pullen, who won Senior Elite ABA and Haringey Box Cup titles as an amateur, will also turn professional in a four-round lightweight contest. 

The event will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and Ireland and will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada.

HAMMOND, INDIANA (August 12, 2026)–Former Two-Time Heavyweight Champion Of The World, Hasim “The Rock” Rahman will begin his quest to become the oldest Heavyweight champion in history when he takes on Phillip Triantafillo on Thursday, September 24th at the Hammond Sportsplex in Hammond, Indiana.

Rahman will be making his first ring appearance in just over 12-years and has an impressive record of 50-9-2 with 41 knockouts. Rahman became heavyweight champion when he knocked out Lennox Lewis on April 27, 2001. Rahman won the WBC Heavyweight title on August 13, 2005 when he won a unanimous decision over Monte Barrett.

“I am excited to be starting this journey to make history. I am still in good shape and continued to stay in the gym during my time away from the sport. I feel with a few fights, that I can get in position for a major opportunity to make history. We had a brief hiccup as we wanted to start this in Rochester, New York, but we will start this in Indiana and I am ready to show the world that I still have the ability to compete, at the highest level. Mexico City – August 13, 2026. — The World Boxing Council mourns the passing of Prichard Colón, who passed away this Thursday, leaving an indelible mark on boxing and, above all, in the hearts of millions who admired his extraordinary courage and indomitable spirit.

Prichard Colón was a young man with enormous dreams inside the ring. Undefeated through his first 16 professional bouts, with 13 wins by knockout, he proudly represented Puerto Rico and appeared destined for a brilliant career at the highest levels of the sport.

But Prichard’s true greatness emerged after the tragic October 2015 night that changed his life forever. Following a devastating brain injury, he spent 221 days in a coma and faced challenges that would have broken even the strongest among us. Prichard, however, never stopped fighting.

His courage, determination and, above all, his desire to live life to the fullest made him an inspiration to people around the world. His smile, his progress, his perseverance and the unconditional love of his family transformed his story into one of the greatest expressions of strength and hope the boxing community has ever known.

In 2021, the World Boxing Council honored Prichard as an Honorary World Champion, presenting him with the coveted green and gold belt he had dreamed of winning since beginning his boxing journey.

“Prichard’s courage and his love for life have touched many hearts and inspired so many others,” said Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council, at the time.

Today, those words carry an even deeper meaning. Prichard was not only a champion inside the ring; he was a champion of life. His fighting spirit, his joy and his ability to find reasons to keep moving forward, even in the most difficult circumstances, will remain among boxing’s most powerful and noble legacies.

“Prichard taught us that the true measure of a champion is not only found in the victories achieved inside the ring, but in the ability to rise when faced with life’s greatest challenges. His smile, his courage, and his love for life left us with a lesson we will never forget. Today, we say goodbye to a great human being, a champion of life, and someone who will forever be part of the World Boxing Council family,” said Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the WBC.

We would also like to recognize the unwavering support of Al Haymon, TGB Promotions, and their teams, who were always there for Prichard and attentive to any needs he or his family might have.

His mother, Nieves, is a true example of love and devotion, giving herself body and soul to the care of her son, Prichard, throughout these difficult 11 years.

The World Boxing Council extends its deepest condolences to his parents, Nieves Meléndez and Richard Colón, as well as to all his family, friends, loved ones, caregivers, and every person who walked alongside Prichard throughout his extraordinary journey.

August 12, 2026 –Filipino former world champion Mark Magsayo will face unbeaten Las Vegas native Andres “Savage” Cortes in a 10-round lightweight bout on Saturday, September 12, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Magsayo vs. Cortes will open the loaded main card, headlined by the welterweight super fight between reigning champion Ryan Garcia and British star Conor Benn. In the co-feature, Zuffa Boxing and Ring cruiserweight world champion Jai Opetaia will face two-time world champion Noel Mikaelian.

The entire Garcia vs. Benn card will stream exclusively on Paramount+ at no additional cost to subscribers in all markets globally outside the UK and Ireland, where it will be available via DAZN PPV.

Magsayo (29-2, 19 KOs) captured the featherweight world title in 2022 after dethroning U.S. Olympian Gary Russell Jr. He has won five straight bouts since moving up in weight, most recently stopping Feargal McCrory in five rounds at ZUFFA BOXING 05 in April. Cortes (25-0, 13 KOs) headlined that event, earning a unanimous decision over Eridson Garcia.

“I’ve waited for a night like this my whole career. I signed with Zuffa to be on the biggest shows,” Magsayo said. “Andres Cortes called me out, and I answered. He won’t have his ‘0’ after I get done with him.”

Cortes said, “This is my opportunity to show the world what I can do. I’m going to destroy Mark Magsayo on September 12,” Cortes said. “Growing up in the gyms in Las Vegas, I dreamed of fighting on a platform like this in front of my people. The time has come.”

In preliminary action, 21-year-old heavyweight prospect Da’Mazion Vanhouter will battle 6-foot-8 puncher Raphael Akpejiori (19-3, 18 KOs) in an eight-round bout. Vanhouter (12-0, 9 KOs) turned pro as a 17-year-old super welterweight in 2022 and has grown several inches while making brief stops at light heavyweight and cruiserweight. He has stopped four of his five opponents in the opening round since moving up to heavyweight. In May, he weighed in at 228 1/2pounds and knocked out Raphael Murphy in 1:06.

Haven Brady Jr. has signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.

Brady Jr. (17-0 7 KOs) has put pen to paper with Hearn ahead of a crucial chapter in his career, as the Bozy Ennis-trained Georgian looks to rise up the ranks in the 135lb division.

‘Hitman’ will return to the ring on Friday August 28 in an eight-round Lightweight clash against Nicaragua’s Bryan Jimenez (18-4 10 KOs) as part of the first event of Matchroom and DAZN’s ‘Project Series’ at Caribe Royale in Orlando, in association with Boxlab Promotions – and the 24 year old will be looking to get a first win of 2026 under his belt before watching the main event with great interest, where Corey Marksman takes on Christian Barreto for the WBA Continental Americas and WBO Global Lightweight titles.

“I’m proud to officially announce my signing with Matchroom,” said Brady Jr. “This is a defining moment in my career and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity, focused on the work ahead, and determined to reach the highest level of the sport.”

Marksman (13-0-1 9 KOs) gets his wish after he called on promoter Eddie Hearn to give him more opportunities after his last outing at Caribe Royale in March, where he defeated Jaycob Gomez to land the WBA strap he defends for the first time in August. The 25-year-old took his sixth unbeaten record from his opponents that night and will be out to do the same and add the WBO Global strap in his second ten round bout and tenth contest at Caribe Royale.

Barreto (15-0 9 KOs) boxes for his first titles and the first ten round bout of his career, and the Puerto Rican known as El Capitán, backed by Miguel Cotto Promotions, can burst into the big time by taking out Marksman in his third fight on US soil, and second at Caribe Royale.

The co-main event is an all-Florida affair between two more unbeaten talents as Alex Bray takes on Antraveous ‘Yamz’ Ingram over ten rounds at Super-Welterweight. Bray (11-0 8 KOs) went the distance in his first ten round action in February at Caribe Royale, making it 11 wins from 11 in the paid ranks for the 20-year-old who turned pro in July 2023.

Ingram (13-0-1 7 KOs) fights at Caribe Royale for the 11th time in a row, and the 27-year-old believes a taking Bray’s unbeaten record can see him make a splash in the 154lb division.

Two more bouts confirmed for the first Project Series card sees unbeaten Lightweight Kaipo Gallegos (12-0-1 9 KOs) take on Desmond Lyons (11-3 2 KOs) over eight rounds, and Puerto Rico’s Carlos DeLeon (8-0 6 KOs) meets Nicaragua’s Maxwel Montes (13-5-1 7 KOs) over eight rounds at Super-Featherweight.

LAS VEGAS (Aug. 10, 2026) — Former super welterweight world champion Abass Baraou has signed a multi-year promotional contract with Top Rank.

The Germany-born fighter of Togolese descent will return against Giovani Santillan on Friday, Sept. 11, in Oceanside, California.

“Abass Baraou’s recent performances speak for themselves,” said Top Rank President Todd duBoef. “He defied the odds by dominating Yoenis Tellez for the interim world title, was soon elevated to full champion, and came within a narrow split decision of unifying titles against Xander Zayas in January. Abass remains one of the division’s top fighters, and we are thrilled to welcome him to Top Rank as he pursues another championship reign.”

Baraou (17-2, 9 KOs) turned pro in 2018 following a standout amateur career that included gold at the 2017 European Championships and bronze at the World Championships. After a 2020 split decision loss to former world champion Jack Culcay, Baraou reeled off eight consecutive wins, highlighted by last August’s upset of the previously unbeaten Tellez for the WBA interim title. Baraou punctuated the unanimous points triumph with a knockdown in the closing seconds of the 12th stanza. He was then elevated to full champion the following month after Terence Crawford vacated the title. That set the stage for January’s unification showdown against WBO champion Xander Zayas, who edged Baraou via split decision.

Dina Thorslund won the Undisputed Bantamweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Cherneka Johnson at The Caribe Royale Resorr in Orlando, Florida.

In round nine, Johnson was bleeding from her nose.

Thorslund laned 150 of 558 punches. Johnson was 89 of 404.

Stevie McKenna stopped Owen O’Neill in the opening round of their eight-round middleweight fight.

McKenna landed a right hand that literally sent O’Nell flying off his feet into the corner and the fight was stopped 65 seconds into the contest.

Connor Coyle remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Mark Bueke in a middleweight fight.

Patrick O’Connor stopped Juan Manuel Moriel after one round of their six-round cruiserweight bout.

O’Connor dominated the action in the opening frame and Moriel complained of a left shoulder injury and the fight was stopped in between rounds.

Simpson evened up the score as Williamson stopped Simpson in 10-rounds on December 20, 2025.

Gradus Krause stopped Sean Hemphill in the opening round of their 10-round light heavyweight bout.

Krause landed a to the head and then a body shot that hurt Hemphill. Kraise opened up on Hemphill with a series of shots to the head and the fight was stopped at 1:03,

Troy Williamson and Callum Simpson both made weight today ahead of their high-stakes rematch for the British and Commonwealth Super Middleweight Titles tomorrow night at the First Direct Bank Arena in Leeds, presented by BOXXER and broadcast live and exclusively on DAZN worldwide.  

In a repeat of their dramatic December showdown, the British rivals are set to go to war again in front of a capacity crowd in Leeds. Simpson is seeking revenge after suffering the first defeat of his professional career, while Williamson has vowed to deliver an even more emphatic finish this time around.

“I’m going to brutalise this man,” said Williamson after an intense final stare down. Simpson, meanwhile, accused the reigning champion of becoming “complacent”, suggesting Williamson had struggled making the weight.

DETROIT (Aug. 5, 2026) – Rising prospects Sardius Simmons, Husam Al Mashhadi, Jasmine Hampton, Richard Fernandez Jr., Caleb Tirado and Lance Smith return in competitive matchups on Saturday, Aug. 29 in undercard fights from Fox Theatre in Detroit, live on Wynn Records Network beginning at 7 p.m. ET. The prospects will be tested on a stacked card featuring a heavyweight showdown between contender Brandon Moore and former world title challenger Bryant Jennings alongside the Detroit debuts of undefeated prospects Julius “JuJu” Ballo and Jonny Mansour.

Undefeated heavyweight prospect Sardius Simmons (8-0, 4 KOs), of Flint, Mich., will take on battle-tested veteran Detrailous “Teddy” Webster (9-5, 5 KOs), of Courtland, Miss., in an eight-round heavyweight bout. Simmons is a two-time National Golden Glove Champion who has fought 9 times in 13 months since turning professional. He’ll take on his toughest test in Webster, who lost a close decision to Lenier Perro, a once beaten heavyweight whose only loss is to Jarrell Miller. 

“Staying active is everything for a heavyweight, so coming straight off my June fight in Grand Rapids and getting right back in the ring at the Fox Theatre is exactly where I need to be,” said Simmons. “Everybody knows what happens when I step into that ring, and August 29 is no different. Make sure we have a pillow and blanket ready for him”  

Detroit resident and welterweight prospect Hussam Al Mashhadi (15-1, 12 KOs) will face Seantorious Martin (12-1, 7 KOs), of Atlanta, in an eight-round matchup of once-beaten welterweights. Mashhadi, a native of Iraq, has won via KO in seven of his last nine matches. The 5-foot-11 southpaw and big local draw will face a stiff challenge in Martin, whose only blemish came in a split decision loss to then-undefeated Tahmir Smalls. 

“It feels great to stay active and get back to work at the Fox Theatre,” said Mashhadi. “My last fight there was an incredible experience, and I’m coming to lock in another big win. The fans can expect a completely dominant performance from start to finish.”  

In a women’s bout on the undercard, undefeated prospect Jasmine Hampton (2-0, 2 KOs), of Ann Arbor, will take on Gloria Munguilla (8-3), of Los Angeles, in an eight-round flyweight bout. Hampton, who trains at Tony Harrison’s Super Bad Gym, is being fast-tracked and has knockouts in both her professional fights. The multi-time amateur champion earned a spot at U.S. Olympic Trials, narrowly missing out on making the U.S. Olympic team. The southpaw will face a significant step-up in Munguilla, who recently challenged for the WBC International Light Flyweight belt. 

“It feels amazing to stay active and step back into the building where it all started,” said Hampton. “The Fox Theatre holds a special place in my heart because of my pro debut and that viral knockout, but I’m an even more dangerous fighter today. The fans know what I bring to the ring, and on August 29, they’re getting pure excitement. She can bring everything she has, but know this, no one makes it to the final bell with me.” 

In a matchup of undefeated 118-pounders, explosive former amateur standout Richard Fernandez Jr. (5-0, 3 KOs) will face Joshua Moreno (4-0, 3 KOs), of Norcross, Ga., in a six-round bantamweight bout. The 23-year-old Fernandez won seven national titles as a member of Team USA before turning pro in 2024. The San Antonio native, who is promoted by G2G Promotions along with Mansour, Ballo and Maldonado, will take a step-up on Aug. 29 when he faces his first undefeated professional opponent in Moreno.

“I’m excited to be back on another great fight card,” Fernandez said. “I’ll be facing another undefeated opponent who’s 4-0 with 3 knockouts, and I have a lot of respect for anyone willing to step into the ring and put it all on the line. I’ve put in the work every day during this training camp, and I’m ready to give the fans a great fight. These are the kinds of challenges I’ve been asking for because they bring out the best in me. I’m grateful for every opportunity to prove myself and show everyone exactly who La Bombita is and what I’m capable of.” 

In the opening bout on Wynn Records Network, undefeated Puerto Rican prospect Caleb Tirado (2-0, 1 KO) will return in a six-round bantamweight bout. Tirado began boxing at age 9 and spent nearly two decades building one of the most decorated amateur careers in Puerto Rican boxing history. The 24-year-old competed in top international tournaments as an amateur, winning the 2023 Continental Championship alongside 12 Puerto Rico National Championships.

The Wynn broadcast will also feature highlights of hometown favorite and undefeated 140-pound prospect Lance Smith (7-0, 5 KOs), who will take on Marlin Sims (9-4, 4 KOs), of Gibbonton, Fla., in a six-round super lightweight bout. Smith, who also trains at Super Bad Boxing Gym, recently graduated with a Sports Management degree from Wayne State University in May 2026. He fights in honor of his father Stephen, who passed away in 2022.

**ISAAC CRUZ VS. NESTOR BRAVO**

After a hard-fought draw against Lamont Roach Jr. last December, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz will look to thrill his impassioned fanbase once again as he competes in the 12-round main event against the veteran Puerto Rican contender Nestor Bravo.

Buoyed on by his adoring fans, Cruz (28-3-2, 18 KOs) became a world champion in March 2024 as he hurt Rolly Romero badly in round one before eventually ending the fight in round eight via TKO to claim the WBA title. Prior to dropping Roach on his way to the draw, Cruz bounced back from a loss to Jose Valenzuela by out-slugging countryman Angel Fierro in February 2025 before turning away Omar Salcido by unanimous decision in July. A native of Mexico City, Cruz shot up the rankings in 2020, announcing his presence with an electrifying first-round knockout over veteran Diego Magdaleno in October before adding dominant decisions over Francisco Vargas and Jose Matias Romero. This rise led to the 28-year-old challenging undefeated superstar Gervonta Davis in December 2021, a fight that saw Cruz lose by decision to become just the second fighter at the time to see the final bell against Davis. Cruz also owns stoppage wins over former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa and veteran contender Eduardo Ramirez, in addition to a 12-round decision over the then-unbeaten Giovanni Cabrera.

“I am extremely motivated to return to the ring on September 19,” said Cruz. “I know that Bravo is very hungry and hoping to pull off the upset, but I also have a very clear goal, to keep proving that I belong among the elite.”

The 32-year-old Bravo (24-1, 17 KOs) delivered a statement victory and showed of his considerable power in his last outing as he scored a sensational one-punch knockout over Pedro Campa in January. The triumph was a bounce back effort for Bravo, who had previously been on the wrong end of a narrow split decision against Xolisani Ndongeni in March 2025. A native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico had racked up an unbeaten record across 23 fights since turning pro in February 2015, with considerable experience on U.S. cards while on the rise. He’s shown his boxing acumen and durability in a pair of 10-round unanimous decision victories over veteran contenders Will Madera and Jose Gallegos. In addition, Bravo was an accomplished Puerto Rican amateur who owns a win over former world champion and Olympic gold medalist Robson Concecaio.

“September 19 is gonna be a classic Puerto Rico vs. Mexico showdown,” said Bravo. “I’m very grateful to my team, and everyone who made this incredible event possible. I’m facing a tough, aggressive fighter who comes forward and likes to engage. But I have all the skills and versatility to win by any means necessary. We’re preparing the right way, and on fight night Puerto Rico will have a new champion.

**JESUS RAMOS JR. VS. MEIIRIM NURSULTANOV**

Another Mexican star known for his all-action style, Jesús “Mono” Ramos Jr. announced his presence at 160-pounds in style last December with a bruising victory over Shane Mosley Jr. that won him the interim title that he’ll defend against the Kazakh power-puncher and unbeaten top-rated challenger Meiirim Nursultanov.

Still just 25-years-old but already boasting a deep resume, Ramos (24-1, 19 KOs) took home a unanimous decision over Mosley last December to make it four-straight victories after coming up on the wrong end of a contested decision against top contender Erickson Lubin in September 2023. A native of Casa Grande, Ariz., Ramos had worked his way up the rankings by defeating a slew of contenders including Brian Mendoza, Javier Molina, Vladimir Hernandez and an emphatic stoppage of the then-unbeaten Joey Spencer. Trained by his father Jesús Sr., and the nephew of veteran contender Abel, Ramos entered the Lubin fighting having stopped seven of his last 10 opponents.

“I’m super excited to be back in the ring and extra motivated to defend my title for the first time,” said Ramos. “I know my opponent has a lot of experience and has been waiting for his opportunity. He’s a hungry and dangerous fighter, so we’re expecting the best version of him on September 19.”

Looking to follow in the footsteps of countryman and former middleweight star Gennadiy Golovkin, Nursultanov (20-0, 11 KOs) will return to fight stateside for the first time since 2019 with an opportunity to catapult himself to the upper echelon of the sport with a victory. Originally from Ayagoz, Kazakhstan, Nursultanov now trains in Southern California as he looks to be the next Eastern European star to come out west and make his name inside the ring. The 32-year-old’s last fight was his first going the 12-round distance, as he won by a wide margin on the cards against then once-beaten Julio Alamos. A pro since 2016, he’s also best veteran contenders including Andrey Sirotkin, Marcelo Coceres and the previously unbeaten Kazuto Takesako.

Luton, Bedfordshire’s Tysie “The First Lady” Gallagher has established herself as one of the United Kingdom’s most accomplished female fighters. She began boxing at age 10 and had a decorated amateur career spanning 35 bouts, winning two national titles, twice reaching the ABA Senior Elite Championship finals, and represented England on the international stage. Since turning professional, Gallagher became the first-ever female British super bantamweight champion while also capturing the Commonwealth and WBO International titles at 122lbs. Now ranked the IBF’s #5 contender in the world, Gallagher has emerged as one of the leading contenders in the super bantamweight division. In November 2023, she challenged Segolene Lefebvre for the WBO world title in just her eighth pro fight. Gallagher most recently earned a unanimous decision win over challenger Ellie Hellewell in defense of her Commonwealth, BBBoC British, and WBO International titles in September 2025. She was initially scheduled to compete on MVP’s UK debut event, MVPW-01, in April 2026, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. Outside the ring, she is a proud mother to her seven-year-old daughter.

Neeraj Goyat, born in Begampur, Karnal, Haryana, India, began his amateur boxing career in 2006 while attending the Army Sports Institute and quickly began his rise to the top, winning gold in 2008 in the Youth National Tournament. Goyat is a three-time WBC Asia title holder in 2015, 2016, and 2017, was named “Honorary Boxer of the Year” in 2017 by WBC Asia, and was the first Indian boxer ever to make the WBC World Rankings. Goyat was hurt in a car accident in 2019, which postponed a mega fight in the works against Amir Khan, but has since resumed fighting and continues his hunt for greatness. In spring 2024, he surged to the forefront of fighter attention worldwide via his viral social media campaign to fight MVP co-founder and international superstar Jake Paul, which culminated with Goyat traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico to face off with Paul in person, ultimately signing to MVP. Currently ranked No. 8 by the WBA, Gallegos has steadily established himself as one of the division’s rising contenders. The Las Vegas native has put together an impressive record, earning his ranking through consistent performances and a strong work ethic. Against Lyons, he’ll look to build on that momentum and take another meaningful step toward the world title picture.

Gallegos, who is co-promoted with Shuan Boxing, says returning to the ring is another chance to showcase the improvements he’s made while remaining committed to the long road ahead.

ATLANTA (Aug. 4, 2026) – Undefeated light heavyweight contender and knockout artist Atif Oberlton will face former world title challenger Roamer Alexis Angulo in a featured undercard bout on Saturday, August 15, before the Claressa Shields vs. Kaye Scott blockbuster event from State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Zeus Network coverage will feature a mix of professional boxing and celebrity influencer bouts beginning at 4 p.m. ET, leading into Shields vs. Scott, which will stream live worldwide exclusively on DAZN at 8:30 p.m. ET. 

The 10-round Olberton vs. Angulo matchup is one of six professional boxing bouts featured on the Zeus Network undercard that is headlined by a celebrity showdown between TV personalities Big Lex, Not Da Lil One, and Tesehki. Zeus Network will also feature a matchup between TV personalities Ray J and Orlando Brown.

Philadelphia’s Oberlton (16-0, 14 KOs) has knocked out eight straight opponents in a streak dating to January of 2024 in which he has not been pushed past the sixth round.  In his last fight, the 28-year-old southpaw stopped Carlos Gongora in a step-up fight on May 9 in Atlanta.  Oberlton, who was a top amateur before turning professional, is currently ranked No. 5 by the WBA and No. 10 by the IBF at 175 pounds.  The 6-foot-3 light heavyweight will face his toughest opponent to date in Angulo, who has faced some of boxing’s best from 168 to 175 pounds. 

“This time around, I’m not in the mood for talking I’m ready to break something up,” Oberlton said.  “It’s not even about Angulo, he’s just a body I have to step over. People are still overlooking me, still sleeping on me, but I’m ready to wake them all up and make them regret ever doubting me. It’s time to get it cracking on the enemy and get my general ranking.”

Angulo (29-4, 24 KOs), of Colombia, has been in the ring with top champions and contenders David Benavidez, Gilberto Ramirez, Edgar Berlanga and Umar Dzambekov, twice challenging for a major world title.  His four defeats came against fighters who had a combined record of 89-0 when facing Angulo. In 2018, Angulo challenged and went the distance with then-undefeated Gilberto Ramirez for the WBO Super Middleweight Title.  Two years later, he fought to a split decision win over previously undefeated Anthony Sims Jr, and then a few months later challenged reigning WBC Super Middleweight Champion David Benavidez, going to the 10th round after Benavidez missed weight by nearly three pounds.  In 2022, Angulo went the distance with then-undefeated Edgar Berlanga, who later challenged Canelo Alvarez.  And in 2025, he went the distance with top Russian contender Umar Dzambekov, who is now ranked in the top 15 by the WBC and WBA.  Angulo’s experience and durability should present a significant step-up for Oberlton in a matchup for the WBA Continental Americas belt.

Houston’s Danielle Perkins (6-1, 3 KOs) will make her first defense of the Women’s WBA Light Heavyweight World Title she won in February with a sixth round TKO over previously undefeated Chei Kenneally.  Perkins, who has knockouts in half of her professional wins, has only suffered one defeat – a 2025 decision loss to GWOAT Claressa Shields for the undisputed heavyweight world championship.  

“Olivia is a seasoned veteran with great experience and grit,” Perkins said.  “She’ll be a challenge but we are ready.  I can’t wait to get in the ring and put on a show.”

Olivia Curry (7-3-2, 2 KOs) has shown no hesitation in facing the best since turning professional in 2021.  The Chicago resident fought Shadasia Green in 2023, losing a decision against a fighter who later became unified champion with a win over Savannah Marshall.  Curry fought Kaye Scott twice in 2025, losing a close majority draw and decision for the WBC Middleweight World Championship.  Curry looks to bounce back as she moves up to light heavyweight for her third consecutive world title fight.

August 4, 2026 — Zuffa Boxing and Ring world champion Jai Opetaia will face two-time world champion Noel Mikaelian on Saturday, September 12, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Opetaia vs. Mikaelian will serve as the co-feature to the welterweight super fight between reigning champion Ryan Garcia and British star Conor Benn. MVP’s Avious Griffin, boasting a staggering 94% stoppage rate, is a Las Vegas-based welterweight originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Introduced to boxing by his father, Alvin, the sport became both a passion and a powerful bond between them. In 2016, just weeks before Griffin’s professional debut, Alvin passed away unexpectedly, a devastating loss that Griffin continues to honor through his career. Melissa Mortensen is a 24-year-old undefeated Danish professional boxer from Varde, Denmark. A standout amateur, Mortensen began boxing in 2014 and compiled a 115-bout amateur career, represented Denmark 43 times on the Danish National team, won six Danish national championships, three Nordic championships, and four prestigious Golden Girl titles, while competing in qualification tournaments for both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Mortensen turned professional in October 2024 and has built an undefeated 9-0 record while capturing the EBU Silver Championship in December 2025. She is currently ranked #6 by the IBF, #7 by the WBA, #9 by the WBO, and #10 by the WBC.

WBO and IBF No. 2 contender Lupita “Babyface Assassin” Medina is one of the brightest rising stars in women’s boxing. Medina began boxing in 2012 and quickly established herself as an elite amateur, capturing five Junior Olympic National Championships before turning professional in 2022. The ambidextrous fighter trains under Edgar Jasso, Manny Robles, and Matias Erbin at Legends Boxing Academy and resides in Maywood, California. Outside the ring, Medina is pursuing a degree at California State University, Long Beach, currently on educational leave as she focuses on her boxing career. Inspired by her father, a former amateur boxer in Nicaragua, and her brother, who compiled a 9-0 professional record with eight knockouts before retiring due to injury, Medina is carrying forward a dream they both helped ignite while forging her own legacy. Growing up, she was often told she was “too girly” to box, but those doubts only strengthened her passion for the sport, teaching her to be feminine, confident, and a fierce competitor all at once. Proud of her Nicaraguan heritage, she is motivated by the opportunity to represent her people on the sport’s biggest stages and aims to become one of Nicaragua’s next boxing superstars while inspiring the next generation to dream big.

Brook Sibrian, from Coachella, California earned the nickname “Mighty” during a national tournament. After becoming a first-generation college graduate and building a career at the Wall Street Journal, Brook discovered the sport through a fitness boxing class at 26 and fell for it immediately. What began as a hobby became a calling, giving her structure, discipline, purpose, and a deeper relationship with God. She compiled a 22-3 amateur record, won two USA Boxing National Championships, and represented El Salvador at the 2023 Central American Games. Early in her career, she trained alongside her idol Román “Chocolatito” González across multiple camps, which accelerated her development and shaped her foundation as an intelligent, high-output pressure fighter and boxer-puncher.

Keno Marley is a 25-year-old 6’3” boxer born in Sapeaçu, Bahia, Brazil. He first began boxing at age 11 before moving to São Paulo alone to pursue his boxing training at age 13, joining the Brazilian national team to launch a standout amateur career. He first made a name for himself at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, taking home the gold medal and becoming the first Brazilian boxer to achieve this feat. The next year, Marley earned silver at the 2019 Pan American championships. He earned a place on Brazil’s Olympic team, qualifying to compete in the men’s light heavyweight event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and finishing as a quarter-finalist in a narrow 3-2 defeat to Britain’s Benjamin Whittaker, the eventual silver medalist. At the 2021 amateur world championships, Marley fought in the IBA cruiserweight division and earned the silver medal, before becoming the 2022 Brazilian national amateur champion. In 2023, Marley won the prestigious Strandja Tournament, the biggest championship on the European circuit, becoming the first Brazilian man to reach the final and win the title before winning silver at the 2023 Pan American Games. He continued his amateur sprint as he returned to represent Brazil again at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the men’s heavyweight division, once again reaching the quarter finals. Outside boxing, Marley faced two difficult losses in 2021, losing his older brother to murder and his cousin to suicide. He now actively serves as a third sergeant in the Brazilian Army, holds a university degree in physical education, and is currently completing a law degree. He trains out of the Brazilian Olympic Training Center and is co-managed by Brazil’s biggest influencer, multi-talented superstar Whindersson Nunes. He resides in São Paulo, Brazil.

Daniel Izquierdo is a hard-hitting prospect from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The 31-year-old has compiled a 6-1 professional record with all six victories coming by knockout, including his first three fights ending in first round TKO. Izquierdo turned professional in 2019 and has quickly built a reputation as an aggressive puncher. Most recently, he scored a fifth-round TKO victory over Irvin Arnoldo Arevalo Chavez by third round TKO in July 2026 and now looks for the biggest win of his career against two-time Brazilian Olympian Keno Marley on Friday, August 21.

Also on the card will be MVP’s undefeated rising contender Roxy Verduzco (7-0, 1 KO) vs. Miguelina Hernandez (4-0, 3 KOs) in an 8-round featherweight bout, MVP’s Olympic bronze medalist, European champion, and five-time German national champion Nelvie Tiafack (4-0, 3 KOs) vs. Mexico’s Salvador Zavala (7-0, 5 KOs) in a 6-round heavyweight bout, and MVP’s and Indio, California’s Jocelyn Camarillo (6-0, 1 KO) vs. Mexico’s Ashley Felix (7-4, 1 KO) in a 6-round minimumweight bout at 105lbs.
