ATLANTA, GA (June 24, 2026) — Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (18-0, 3 KOs), the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and the most decorated woman in boxing history, will make her highly-anticipated Atlanta debut on Saturday, August 15 at State Farm Arena live on DAZN, returning to the middleweight division for a high-stakes showdown against unified WBC and WBA champion Kaye Scott (5-1-1). The exclusive live worldwide presentation of Shields vs. Scott will begin at 9 p.m. ET on DAZN, the global home of boxing.

Already recognized as the most accomplished woman in boxing history, Shields enters the bout as a two-time Olympic gold medalist, five-division world champion, undisputed heavyweight champion, and the first boxer in the four-belt era—male or female—to become undisputed champion in three weight classes. Her return to middleweight brings Shields back to the division where she authored one of the defining moments of her career. Her first meeting with Olivia Curry earned WBC Women’s Fight of the Year honors; the rematch, on December 20, 2025, ended with Scott capturing the unified WBC and WBA middleweight titles.  The victory transformed Scott from contender to champion and established her as one of the division’s most formidable forces.

Now firmly entrenched amongst the middleweight elite, Scott enters the biggest fight of her career carrying not only championship credentials, but with something to prove.

MANAMA, BAHRAIN (June 23, 2026) – The Bahrain Boxing Federation has officially announced the appointment of internationally respected boxing executive and global sports advisor Amer Abdallah as an Advisor to the Kingdom of Bahrain Boxing Federation, marking a significant step forward in the federation’s continued efforts to establish Bahrain as a premier destination for boxing development and excellence.

Abdallah brings with him decades of experience in combat sports and a proven track record of building boxing infrastructure, developing talent, and executing major international events across multiple continents. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of professional boxing in the Middle East, Abdallah played an instrumental role in expanding the sport throughout the region during a critical period of growth.

In 2019, Abdallah helped launch the first-ever professional boxing and kickboxing event in Dubai under Badou Jack Promotions, a landmark moment for combat sports in the UAE. MONTREAL, June 23, 2026 — WBA Continental cruiserweight champion Lenar Perez will face the toughest test of his career on September 3 when he takes on two-time world title challenger Thabiso “The Rock” Mchunu in the main event of an Eye of the Tiger card at the Casino de Montréal.

“When I signed with EOTTM, I knew the challenges would be there. Thabiso Mchunu has a wealth of experience against the very best in the world. This is exactly the kind of fight that will allow me to prove that I belong among the elite of the division myself,” said four-time Cuban national amateur champion Lenar Perez.

“We believe Lenar Perez is the best cruiserweight in the world, and while we wait for the opportunity to prove it against Jai Opetaia or David Benavidez, we intend to send a clear message to them and the entire division through Mchunu on September 3,” added EOTTM President Camille Estephan.

Boasting one of the most decorated amateur careers in boxing, Lenar Perez (16-0, 14 KOs) wasted no time making an impact in the professional ranks. After winning his first 14 bouts by stoppage, the fighter nicknamed “The Cuban Prince” traveled to Russia and defeated former world title challenger Aleksei Egorov on hostile territory. He then signed a long-term agreement with EOTTM and made his North American debut last March, completely shutting out former world title challenger Isaac Chilemba. Currently ranked No. 3 by the WBA, No. 9 by the IBF, No. 11 by the WBO, and No. 18 by the WBC, Perez is looking to secure the biggest opportunities of his career by winning his first main event on Quebec soil.

South African boxer Thabiso Mchunu (25-8, 14 KOs), however, is no stranger to the world level—or to those seeking to reach it. In 2013, in Connecticut, Mchunu spoiled American heavyweight Eddie Chambers‘ cruiserweight debut. In 2014, in Atlantic City, he captured the NABF title from Nigerian puncher Olanrewaju Durodola. In 2016, live on HBO, he received his first world title opportunity against none other than Oleksandr Usyk, engaging in a hard-fought nine-round battle. Then, after defeating former world champions Thomas Oosthuizen (2018) and Denis Lebedev (2019), he returned to the world title stage in 2022, falling by split decision to Junior Makabu in a fight many observers believed he had won. Having resumed his quest for a third world title shot, “The Rock” will be seeking a third consecutive victory when he faces Perez.

While the main event carries an international flavor, the co-feature will add a local touch to the evening, as Montreal fighters Moreno Fendero (15-0, 11 KOs) and Stephane Fondjo (15-2-1, 10 KOs) square off for the WBC Continental Americas super middleweight title.

“I have a lot of respect for Stephane, but once we’re in the ring, there will be no more respect. We’ve sparred together before. We know each other well, so we’re going to give everyone a great fight, but I’ll just say that the Soldier has a nice surprise in store for him,” commented defending champion Moreno “The Soldier” Fendero, currently ranked No. 25 in the WBC world rankings.

“Whenever we can make local fights like this happen, we do it. It’s an important step in a boxer’s career. It adds a psychological dimension that Moreno will have to navigate for the first time,” noted EOTTM Head Trainer and Director of Development Marc Ramsay.

“Unlike many boxers, Stephane isn’t interested in padding his record—he wants to fight the best. After 18 professional fights, I believe he’s ready to beat the best. I like Moreno, but I have no doubt that Stephane will hand him his first defeat,” stated trainer Ian MacKillop, whose fighter engaged in a fierce battle with Steven Butler despite a shortened training camp in November 2025.

Also scheduled to compete on September 3 are two-time Prospect of the Year nominee Jhon Orobio (18-0, 16 KOs), Buckingham puncher Alexandre Gaumont (14-1, 9 KOs), Canada’s most recent Olympic medalist Wyatt Sanford (7-0, 3 KOs), and Eye of the Tiger’s Montreal-based prospect Keven Beausejour (3-0, 3 KOs).

MIAMI, FL (June 23, 2026) – Few fighters in combat sports today can claim success in multiple disciplines, but undefeated heavyweight contender Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo is proving he is a rare exception.

Already the reigning BKB Heavyweight Champion (8-0, 8 KOs), and one of the most feared punchers in bare-knuckle fighting, Trujillo (11-0, 10 KOs) in boxing, has simultaneously established himself as one of professional boxing’s fastest-rising heavyweight contenders. Currently ranked # 14 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), the Cuban-born knockout artist continues to build momentum as he pursues world title opportunities while defending his status as one of combat sports’ most dominant champions.

For Trujillo, a promotional free agent, balancing championship success in BKB while climbing the professional boxing rankings represents a unique challenge, one he embraces wholeheartedly.

“It feels great to be the BKB Heavyweight Champion while also moving up the rankings in professional boxing,” said Trujillo. “Not many fighters are doing both at the same time. Every time I fight, no matter what sport, I want to show people that I belong at the highest level. Being the BKB heavyweight champion gives me confidence, but my focus is still on getting better every day and reaching the top of the heavyweight division in boxing.”

Trujillo’s rise has been fueled by his explosive power and aggressive style, traits that have made him a fan favorite in both sports. In BKB competition, his dominance has been nothing short of spectacular, with every one of his victories ending by knockout. The reigning champion admits that the bare-knuckle format perfectly suits his fighting mentality.

“I love fighting in BKB because the fans know they’re going to see action,” Trujillo explained. “I go in there looking to finish the fight. So far I’ve been able to knock everybody out, and that’s what people want to see. I respect every opponent, but when that bell rings, I’m coming to win and make a statement.”

Even more impressive is the manner in which Trujillo has secured those victories. Every one of his BKB wins has come by first-round knockout, a remarkable feat that has established him as one of the sport’s most dangerous champions. According to Trujillo, his continued development as a professional boxer has played a major role in his bare-knuckle success.

“Everything I’m learning in boxing is helping me in BKB,” said Trujillo. “My timing is better. My footwork is better. I’m more patient and more accurate with my punches. Because of that, I’ve been able to get all my BKB wins in the first round. The experience I get in boxing helps me stay sharp, and when I go back to BKB, I feel stronger and more complete as a fighter.”

Fresh off a devastating first-round stoppage of veteran Sergio Ramirez Marin on May 30, Trujillo will return to action on June 28, 2026, when he faces Calvin Barnett (7-5, 4 KOs) in a scheduled 10-round main event at “FIST OF FURY 11” at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The event is promoted by Kris Lawrence’s The Heavyweight Factory Promotions.

As impressive as his accomplishments have been, Trujillo shows no signs of slowing down. Following his June 28 boxing appearance, he is expected to defend his BKB Heavyweight Championship later this summer, with an August date and venue to be announced.

For now, however, his full attention remains on Barnett and continuing his ascent up the heavyweight rankings. Rather than taking extended time off after his most recent knockout victory, Trujillo and his team made the decision to remain active, believing consistent activity is the key to reaching championship opportunities.

“I want to stay busy and keep improving,” Trujillo said. “Every fight teaches me something. Every fight helps me move closer to my goals. I feel stronger than ever right now, and I want to take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way.”

Trujillo’s unique success in both disciplines has not gone unnoticed by those closest to his career. His manager, Abe Swidan of Visionary Sports Group, believes the Cuban heavyweight is accomplishing something rarely seen in modern combat sports.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (June 22, 2026)  – Legendary boxing coach John Brown has coached more than 18,500 youngsters during his 60+ years involved in the sport. The 79-year-old Midwest institution has only turned two of his boxers to the professional ranks, former world champion Tommy Morrison and one of the hottest prospects in the world, Marco “El Tiburón” Romero (14-0, 12 KOs).

Romero, 20, was a sensational amateur boxer – 130-5 record and 23-time national champion  – and he hasn’t lost a fight in nearly 7 years, since he dropped a split decision on June 28, 2019, at the National Junior Olympics.  As a professional, Romero is undefeated in 14 fights and he has won each of the 35 rounds on each of the three judges’ scorecards.

“Marco is my coaching Halley’s Comet,” Brown spoke about Romero, “which appears every 85 years or so. He has the best set of combined skills and talents, and that’s why he went pro. For me to train a pro, he has to have the talent and mental toughness to become wealthy and remain healthy at the end of his career.”

In addition to being arguably one of the premier American boxing coaches of all-time, Brown also founded Ringside Boxing, and he was President of USA Boxing. He currently owns and operates the largest gym in the country, Turner Boxing Academy in Kansas City, Kansas.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Brown has always been overly concerned with the health of his boxers, mentally and physically.

Now a promotional free agent being wooed by several top promoters, Romero is expected to soon sign with a promoter, allowing Brown to concentrate solely on managing and training Romero. To this point, he has also served as Romero’s quasi-promoter, covering all the costs associated with promoting a potentially world-class prospect.

Brown always notes that Morrison and Romero, to be kind, are diametrically opposite of each other as fighters and, equally significant, as a person.   

Romero, fighting out of Olathe (KS), has been guided by Brown since he was seven, often saying Coach John means so much more to him than just his boxing coach in the four-cornered ring as well as life.

“Coach John has always taught his boxers to get hit less so they last longer during their career,” Romero said. “Boxing can be punishing, but it’s also a form of art, and Coach John always stresses taking as little punishment as possible to the head.”

In addition to saying his major job is to make Marco wealthy and keep him healthy, hoping his super middleweight/middleweight prospect hangs up his gloves prior to his 30^th birthday, Brown also teaches his “Double E” theory of boxing.

“We all know boxing is very dangerous,” Brown explained. I only wanted to be involved with a pro fighter who I can make wealthy and work to stay healthy. Minimum damage will always be our goal and, so far, we’ve been very successful at that. I want him to continue with what I call the Triple E: elusive, explosive and exciting.

“I want Marco to have the toughness of (Marvelous) Marvin Hagler but more defensive like Bernard Hopkins and Oscar de la Hoya earlier in his career. I want him to be like (Oleksandr) Usyk and (Dmitry) Bivol because they’re great but don’t take a lot of punishment.”

PHOENIX (June 21, 2026) – Kingsley “The Black Lion” Ibeh (17-3-1, 15 KOs) dominated last night’s pro boxing card, presented by Whitfield Haydon in association with Toro Promotions, Inc., at The Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona.

Born in Nigeria and fighting out of Phoenix, Ibeh threw-down with fellow Arizona heavyweight Dante “The Inferno” Stone (21-3, 13 KOs) in the aptly called main event, “King of the West,” to determine the top heavyweight boxer based west of the Mississippi River.

Ibeh, a former college and Canadian pro football player, stopped Stone in the eighth round, successfully defending his World Boxing Council (WBC) FECARBOX) title belt, in addition to capturing the vacant World boxing Association (WBA) Continental Americas and Arizona State championships. Stone had never been knocked out in 23 pro fights.

Ibe, whose cousin is the infamous former heavyweight boxer Ike Ibeabuchi, gained fame this past January at Madison Square Garden, in which he lost an impressive 10-round split decision to world-rated Jarrell Miller (26-1-2).

“The goal was to beat him at his own game,’ Ibeh said after the fight, “which we did. All respect to Stone but he was just in the way and a stone we need to move out. This means bigger opportunities. I want ‘DDD’ (‘Dynamite’ Daniel Dubois) next!”

Stone’s previous fight was last October in the championship final of the WBC Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, when his 21-fight win streak was snapped by Kevin Cristopher Ramirez via a 6-round split decision.

In the co-featured event, local star Elijan Garcia (18-2, 14 KOs) needed little time to take care of super middleweight Ryan Adams (12-12-1, 7 KOs), quickly closing the show in the opening round. Garcia’s pro record includes a major victory against WBC World Middleweight challenger and 2012 USA Olympian, Terrell Gausha (24-4-1) in 2025 by way of a 10-round split decision last year. A former WBC Latino middleweight champion, Garcia was a 2017 U.S. National Championships gold medalist, who turned pro in Mexico at the age of 16.

Adams was coming off an eighth-round split decision victory over Yoanki Urrujia (17-1) last October in Miami.

Three other heavyweight matches featuring Arizona fighters were on the undercard: Adam “All American” Stewart (17-1-1, 10 KOs) knocked out Desmond Thompson (9-3, 8 KOs) in round two, Trevor “Titan” Kotara (5-5-1, 12 KOs) took out Jalen Davis (1-6, 1 KO), and in a battle of pro debut fighters Angel Lainez won a 4-round unanimous decision over Javier Arroyo (0-1).

Promising Armenian prospect Narek Hovhannisyan rolled to his fifth straight win without a loss, out-classing 76-fight Mexican veteran Dayryus Cotton enroute to a 6-round unanimous decision.

Undefeated Phoenix featherweight Brayan “Pow’ Gonzalez continued his hot streak with a technical knockout of Carlos Mujica (9-10, 2 KOs) in the second round.   

In other undercard matches, unbeaten Mexican light heavyweight Sergio Leon Rodriguez improved to 13-0-1 (9 KOs) with a third-round disqualification win against Antonio Louis Hernandez (7-25-4, 4 KOs), while Erick Munguia (3-0, 2 KOs) took a 4-round unanimous decision from pro-debuting Patrick Quick (0-1) in a battle of Arizona lightweights.

June 19, 2026 – Rising middleweight contender Jalil Hackett will face the stiffest test of his career when he takes on Ukrainian veteran Sergiy Derevyanchenko in a 10-round middleweight fight on Sunday, July 26, at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden. 

Hackett vs. Derevyanchenko will serve as the main card opener for Zuffa Boxing 09, headlined by Brooklyn-born stars Edgar Berlanga and Richardson Hitchins in separate bouts. Berlanga will face Canada’s Steven Butler in a 10-round super middleweight contest, while Hitchins will test the welterweight waters in a 12-round showdown against Mexico’s Ricardo Salas.

The 23-year-old Hackett (12-1, 9 KOs), from Southeast Washington, DC, entered the professional ranks with a decorated amateur résumé that included nearly 150 victories and 10 national titles. After suffering a split decision defeat as a welterweight in December 2024, he moved up to middleweight and has reeled off three straight victories. Hackett dug deep at Zuffa Boxing 02 in February, earning a majority decision over Roberto Cruz Jr. following a strong late-round surge.

Derevyanchenko (16-6, 11 KOs), a 2008 Olympian, has tested himself against the sport’s elite since turning professional in 2014. He has never been stopped and has pushed the likes of Jermall Charlo, Gennadiy Golovkin, and Daniel Jacobs to the limit in memorable world title battles. At 40 years old, Derevyanchenko returns to middleweight following a four-fight run at super middleweight that included his 2023 Fight of the Year classic against Jaime Munguia.

A HUGE HEAVYWEIGHT showdown will take place at The O2 on Saturday August 29th, when the undefeated Moses Itauma takes on leading contender Filip Hrgovic, live on DAZN PPV. 

At just 21, Itauma will take a step up by challenging himself against a seasoned opponent who has only suffered one defeat, and previously ranked No.1 by the IBF. 

Hrgovic, 34 and from Croatia, showed his own ring-readiness in the middle of May at the home of Doncaster FC where he swiftly overcame the threat presented by home favourite Dave Allen via a third round stoppage.

The 2016 Olympic medalist made it a third successive win by overcoming Allen, having defeated British heavyweights in Joe Joyce and David Adeleye since his career-first loss against Daniel Dubois in June 2024.

Itauma, who holds the WBO Intercontinental, WBA International, and Commonwealth titles, will be looking to keep his unbeaten record and world title ambitions firmly on track to solidify his status as the best young heavyweight in the sport. 

He has not heard the final bell since a pair of six-round learning fights back in 2023. Of his 10 fights since, six have ended in the first round – including against Dillian Whyte and Demsey McKean – and three in the second. His most recent activity, against Jermaine Franklin Jr in March, extended him to five rounds of action.

“This has got all the makings of a classic heavyweight confrontation and we were determined to get it over the line,” said promoter Frank Warren. “This fight is the litmus test Moses is ready for and it is the one he wanted. MIAMI, FL (June18, 2026) – Fresh off another devastating knockout victory, undefeated heavyweight contender Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo (11-0, 10 KOs) will make a quick return to the ring when he faces Calvin Barnett (7-5, 4 KOs) of Port Orange, Florida, in a scheduled 10-round main event at “FIST OF FURY 11” on June 28, 2026. The fight will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Hollywood, Florida.

The event is presented by Kris Lawrence’s The Heavyweight Factory Promotions and will feature one of boxing’s fastest-rising heavyweight contenders as Trujillo continues his march toward world title contention.

Currently ranked #14 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Trujillo enters the bout following an impressive first-round stoppage of veteran Sergio Ramirez Marin (22-9, 12 KOs) on May 30. The emphatic victory marked the tenth knockout of his professional career and further solidified his reputation as one of the division’s most dangerous punchers.

Rather than taking time off following his latest triumph, Trujillo, the current BKB Heavyweight Champion, and his team elected to remain active and continue building momentum. As he prepares for another quick turnaround, Trujillo spoke about the value of remaining active while continuing his climb through the heavyweight rankings.

“We came very, very close, believe it or not, in having him fight Arnold Barboza at the Honda Center earlier this year. He wanted to fight, he accepted it, Arnold accepted it. June 18, 2026 – Zuffa Boxing today announced the preliminary card for ZUFFA BOXING 08: DE LOS SANTOS VS. VALENZUELA 2on Sunday, June 28, at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The five-fight undercard will start at 5 pm ET/2 pm PT ahead of the three-fight main card kicking off at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.

The preliminary card is topped by a pair of evenly matched showdowns featuring four emerging talents. Unbeaten Las Vegas native Floyd Diaz (14-0, 3 KOs ) takes on his stiffest challenge to date against Mexico’s Andres Teran (18-2, 13 KOs) in a 10-rounder at bantamweight. Diaz bested Guillermo Gutierrez by decision at Zuffa Boxing 01 in January, while Teran enters his Zuffa Boxing debut on a 10-fight winning streak.

And, in an eight-round lightweight contest, a pair of unbeatens return when Hawaiian puncher Jaybrio Pe Benito (7-0, 5 KOs) fights Tony Hirsch Jr. (8-0-2, 4 KOs). Pe Benito shined on Zuffa Boxing 03 with a stunning third-round stoppage over Abel Mejia, while Hirsch is coming off an upset decision victory over Robert Meriwether III on Zuffa Boxing 05 in April. 

The other preliminary bouts are as follows:

Unified middleweight world champion Desley “Destroyer” Robinson has emerged as one of Australia’s top boxing talents. Originally stepping into the ring to improve her fitness, Robinson quickly proved she belonged at the elite level. Following over 50 amateur fights that saw her capture multiple Queensland and Australian titles, Robinson turned pro and earned her first title shot in just her seventh pro fight, resulting in a narrow majority decision loss against Lani Daniels in December 2023. Just one year later, Robinson rebounded in heroic fashion, fighting through a fractured foot to capture the vacant IBF female middleweight title with a unanimous decision over Kaye Scott in December 2024. Robinson, who fights out of Logan City, Queensland by way of Maranbah, Queensland, Australia, defeated challenger Logan Holler by second round TKO in her promotional debut on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 16 in October 2025, before returning with an emphatic win over Canada’s Mary Spencer on the main card of MVPW-03 live on ESPN in May 2026, earning the $20,000 Performance of the Night bonus for her outstanding victory. Following in his footsteps, she took up boxing at age 12 and was inspired to compete for Canada while watching the first women’s Olympic boxing competition during the 2012 London Olympics. The 28-year-old middleweight, a southpaw standing 6 feet tall, forged an outstanding amateur career. A two-time Olympian, Thibeault made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, where she advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s 75kg (165lb) event, matching Canada’s best-ever Olympic result in any women’s boxing event. She went undefeated until she returned to the Paris Olympics in 2024, earning gold medals at the 2022 Amateur World Championship, the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and the 2023 Pan Am Games. Thibeault, who speaks French, English, and Spanish, completed a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Concordia University in 2023, which she earned over seven years while competing. She currently lives in Sheffield, England, where she earned a one-year Master’s degree in urban design and urban planning while training at the renowned Steel City Gym. Thibeault made her pro debut while competing under men’s rules, three-minute rounds, on the main card of MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 10 in December 2024, then returned to the ring in March 2025 as part of MVP’s first ever event in Canada, Most Valuable Prospects 11, where she again competed under men’s rules with three-minute rounds and won by knockout in the final second of the first round, proving again the impact of women competing with equal rules to men. MVP’s Shurretta “Chiccn” Metcalf (14-4-1, 2 KOs). Metcalf has had to fight—both inside and outside the ring—all of her life. Born in Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas, Shurretta grew up in a low-income area with her two younger siblings and hard-working single mom. A talented student, she was a standout basketball player and also excelled at track and field. She had her first son at 20 years old and her second son two years later. The single mom did a variety of jobs to survive and raise her two boys, the oldest of whom is autistic. To make money, Shurretta turned to underground boxing in 2012 and fought over 100 fights, sometimes fighting as often as twice a week. In 2016 she turned pro and hasn’t stopped moving forward since—winning her first world title in October 2024 at Madison Square Garden with a unanimous decision against then-IBF champion Miyo Yoshida. Metcalf returned to MSG to compete for the undisputed bantamweight world title against Cherneka Johnson in the preliminary card headliner of MVP and Netflix’s Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 all-women’s mega-event in July 2025 and most recently defeated fellow top 118lb contender Krystal Rosado on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 16 in October 2025. Outside her boxing career, the industrious Metcalf owns and runs a boutique and salon, works as a personal trainer, and has a mobile bartending business. She is also launching her own line of workout clothes called Elite Essence.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – JUNE 14, 2026 – Most Valuable Promotions’ (MVP) MVPW-04 took place on Saturday, June 13, at Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida, streaming live on ESPN+ and delivering a championship-filled night of boxing to a sold-out crowd. Headlined by MVP’s IBF super welterweight world champion Oshae Jones (9-0-1, 3 KOs), who retained her world title after a hard-fought draw against mandatory challenger Elia Carranza (11-2-1, 3 KOs), the event also featured a successful title defense from MVP’s undefeated WBC featherweight world champion Tiara Brown (21-0, 11 KOs), who outworked previously unbeaten top-ranked contender Hannah Rapp (8-1-1, 5 KOs)  to retain her title. The card also saw two new champions crowned as Panama’s Nataly Delgado (21-7-2, 5 KOs) captured the WBA super flyweight world title after an unanimous decision win over MVP’s Jasmine Artiga (15-1-1, 7 KOs) and Mexico’s Estefany Alegria (15-1, 4 KOs) scored a major unanimous decision win over MVP’s Evelin Bermudez (22-2-1, 8 KOs) to become the unified WBO, WBA, and IBF light flyweight world champion, earning MVP’s $20,000 Performance of the Night bonus presented by Caribe Royale Resort. Also, MVP’s undefeated Brazilian boxer and social media sensation Jully Poca (1-0) impressed in the preliminary card headliner, defeating fellow pro debutant Monica Medina (0-1) by unanimous decision in a professionally sanctioned rematch of their November 2025 bout. Additionally, MVP’s Head of Boxing, Mike Leanardi, was presented with the IBF’s 2025 award recognizing MVP as the most active female boxing promoter, underscoring the company’s continued leadership in advancing women’s boxing on the global stage.

June 13, 2026 — Zuffa Boxing announced today that unbeaten light heavyweight prospect Nasheed “Sugar Sheed” Smith has signed a long-term promotional contract with the company. Smith, a 6-foot-2 southpaw from Washington, DC, is the latest standout to emerge from Barry Hunter’s renowned Headbangers Boxing Gym.

The 25-year-old Smith (10-0, 7 KOs) is trained and managed by Hunter, who has worked with the likes of Gervonta Davis, Lamont Peterson, Isaac Dogboe, Adrien Broner, Austin Trout, and Sharmba Mitchell. 

Smith’s Zuffa Boxing debut will be announced at a later date.

“Washington, DC, has produced many great fighters, and I am proud to follow in that tradition,” Smith said. “This is the start of the ‘Sugar Sheed’ era, and I’m looking to take over the light heavyweight division. I appreciate Dana White, Nick Khan, and everyone at Zuffa Boxing for giving me the platform to showcase my skills.”

Smith grew up practicing taekwondo and watching UFC fights with his father before stepping into Hunter’s gym for the first time at age 10. As an amateur, he captured five national titles, including gold medals at the 2022 National Golden Gloves and USA National Championships. Smith further honed his craft in sparring sessions with elite fighters such as Peterson, Shawn Porter, Erickson Lubin, and Jarrett Hurd.

He turned professional in November 2023 with a first-round knockout victory and has already recorded six stoppages within two rounds. Smith last fought in April in Baltimore, earning a dominant decision over Michael Nelson.

Undefeated South Jersey heavyweights Josh “The Hammer” Popper and Bruce “2.0” Seldon Jr. made weight Friday ahead of Saturday’s Boxing Insider Promotions card at the Tropicana Atlantic City Showroom. Popper, of Egg Harbor Township, weighed 250 pounds. Seldon Jr., of Smithville, weighed 236 pounds. The six round heavyweight main event tops a seven fight card, with the first bell at 7:30 PM ET.

The card marks the 21st show for Boxing Insider Promotions since October 2022, with events staged in New York City and Atlantic City and expansion into additional markets planned. The series has been billed as the last American club boxing series, presenting regional professional cards on a regular schedule at a time when most U.S. promoters have moved away from the club model.

Popper (7-0, 7 KOs) trains under Jose Luis Guzman at Bredwinners Gym in Manhattan. Seldon Jr. (8-0, 6 KOs) trains under Julio Sanchez at the Pleasantville Recreation Center and is the son of former WBA heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon Sr., who won his title in Atlantic City.

Huntington, NY (June 12, 2026) – “Voodoo” Peter Latorre (6-0, 6 KOs) has quickly become one of the most compelling young fighters to watch on the Long Island boxing scene, and on June 27, the undefeated knockout artist returns to The Paramount looking to deliver another memorable performance at Rockin’ Fights 54.

Outside the ring, Latorre’s story is equally impressive. A United States Marine Corps infantry veteran, he has dedicated himself to service long after his military career ended. GRAND RAPIDS (June 12, 2026) – Several fighters on this Sunday’s championship fight card from Grand Rapids participated in a media workout and boxing clinic for youth members of the Puerto Rican Cultural Committee Of Western Michigan on Friday at PK Boxing Gym. 

The special 5 p.m. ET presentation live on DAZN from GLC Live at 20 Monroe coincides with New York’s Puerto Rican Day Parade and features multiple matchups between Puerto Rican and Mexican fighters in celebration of one of boxing’s greatest rivalries. 

In the main event, Puerto Rico’s Jonathan “Bomba” González (29-4-1, 14 KOs) defends his WBA Interim Flyweight World Championship against unbeaten Mexican contender Abraham “Hammer” Perez (14-0 7KOs) in what oddsmakers have set as a near-50/50 fight.

In the co-feature, Puerto Rican undefeated contender Joshua “JJ” Pagán (15-0 5KOs) puts his WBO NABO Lightweight title on the line against Mexican challenger Rodolfo Bustamante Salazar (22-1-1 12 KOs). 

Members of the Puerto Rican Cultural Committee Of Western Michigan will walk out González and Pagán for their respective bouts to celebrate the occasion and Grand Rapid’s large and vibrant Puerto Rican community.

I was in a coma for four days on life support with organ failure after drowning (referring to a 2024 near-fatal training incident). They told me I could have woken up brain-dead or lost my legs. The only reason I fully recovered is because I was in peak athletic shape.

CRANSTON, RI – CES Boxing returns to The Park on Saturday, June 27 with Rhode Wars 6, an exciting night of professional boxing showcasing some of the region’s brightest up-and-coming talent.
