Mielnicki Decisions Gardzielik in Newark

NEWARK, NJ--Vito Mielnicki Jr, won a 10-round unanimous decision over Kamil Gardzielik at the Prudential center in Newaark, New Jersey.

In round three, Mielnicki dropped Gardzielik with a double right. Mielnicki dominated the action as was consitant with counter shots to the head and body work. Mielnicki boxed well and was never in danger as the previously undefeated Gardzielik did not mount much offense save for an occasional shot that got through.

Mielnicki of Roseland, NJ won by scores of 100-89 on all cards and is now 21-1-1. Gardzielik of Poland is now 19-1.

Jahi Tucker edged out a 10-round unanimous decision over Lorenzo Simpson in a middleweight bout.

Tucker, 160 lbs of Deer Park, NY won by scores of 97-93 twice and 96-94 and is now 15-0-1. Simpson, 159.5 lbs of Baltimore is now 15-3.

In a battle of undefeated Polish heavyweights, Damian Knyba stopped Marcin Siwy after round eight of their 10-round bout.

The 6’7″ Knyba wore and beat down Siwy round after round until the bout was stopped in the corner after the eighth stanza.

Knyba, 254.5 lbs is 16-0 with 10 knockouts. Siwy, 244 lbs is 25-1-1.

Brandun Lee remained undefeated with eight-round unanimous decision over Elias Araujo in a junior welterweight fight.

Lee, 143 lbs of Yuba City, CA won by scores of 80-72 on all cards and is now 30-0. Araujo, 142 lbs of Santa Fe, ARG is now 22-6.

Dwyke Flemmings Jr. stopped Demiam Fernandez in the opening round of their eight-round junior welterweight bout.

In round one. Flemmings, dropped Fernandez with a hard left hook. Flemmings finished off the fight with a big flurry on the ropes and the bout was stopped at 2:09

Flemmings, 154 lbs of Paterson, NJ is 11-0 with 10 knockouts. Fernandez, 154 lbs of Buenos Aires, ARG is 15-7.

Lisandra Contreras won a four-round unanimous decision over Montana Weems in a junior featherweight bout.

In round one, Contreras dropped Weems with an overhand right.

Contreras, 121 lbs of Passaic, NJ won on all cards by a 40-35 score and is now 1-0. Weems, 122 lbs of Rogersville, TN is 1-1.

Arjan Iseni stopped Kaine Tomlinson in round two of their four-round light heavyweight bout.

Iseni dropped Tomlinson twice in round one and one more time in round two and the fight was stopped at 1:03.

Iseni, 175 lbs of Staten Island, NY is 4-0 with four knockouts. Tomlinson, 175 lbs of Roanoke, VA is 1-1.

Norman Neely disposed of James Willis in the opening round of their eight-round heavyweight bout.

In the opening round, Neely uncorked a vicious right that hurt Willis badly and the fight was stopped at 2:08.

Neely, 249.5 lbs of Paterson, NJ is now 16-1 with 11 knockouts. Willis, 262.5 lbs of Roanoke, VA is 6-2-1.

Muadh Abdus-Salaam won a four-round majority decision over Roberto Cantos in a junior welterweight bout.

Sakaam, 144 lbs of Newark won by scores of 40-36, 39-37 and 38-38 and is 1-0. Cantos, 145.5 lbs of Melbourne, FL is 1-4.

Kahshad Ellliot remained undefeated with a foul-fested four-round unanimous decision over Titus Ashe in a junior middleweight.

in the opening seconds, Ashe came out landed a solid left and right that put Elliot on the canvas. In round two, Ashe was deducted a point for holding.

Elliot, 154 lbs of Plainfield, NJ won by scores of 38-36 twice and 38-35 and is now 5-0. Ashe, 153 lbs of Baltimore is 1-1.

Jamar Talley stopped Kurt Fleming in round two of their four-round heavyweight bout.

With the first punch of the fight, Talley dropped Fl3ming with a left hook. In round two, it was another left hook to the head that wobbled Fleming and he fell to the canvas. Talley ended things with a vicious two punch combination that put Fleming down and the fight was stopped at 1:04

Talley, 197,5 lbs of Camden, NJ is 3-0 with three knockouts. Fleming, 204.5 lbs of Palmyra, VA is 3-1.
