The English Super-Welterweight Championship will be on the line when reigning champion Sam Gilley meets Sean Robinson to make his second defence of the belt he won with a brutal body-shot finish in November 2021. Multi-time Fight Of The Year winner Sam Eggington took a clear decision victory over the undefeated Przemys?aw Zysk to win the IBO Super Welterweight Championship.

Eggington pushed hard in the early rounds of the fight to find a way to stop Zysk, landing devastating combinations across the first four rounds of the fight. Eggington looked set for an early night and a stoppage victory but Zysk showed tremendous grit and determination to survive Eggington’s destructive onslaught.

Eggington used his boxing skill in the second half of the fight to win every single round of the final six. Allowing the new IBO World Champion to dominate the all three judges’ scorecards and claim victory. Zysk fought valiantly across all 12 rounds, despite the huge punishment taken early on in the fight, and made all of the last six rounds competitive.

Cheema outworked and outbattled a tough, game opponent in Stu Greener, who made the Sikh star fight hard for his victory.

Cheema once again had huge support in the Coventry Skydome from his zealous supporters, with his proud membership of the Punjabi Sikh community attracting followers from across Coventry and across the country.

Karriss Artingstall def. Vaida Masiokaite PTS 6/6 (60-54)

Olympic Bronze medalist and special female Featherweight talent Karriss Artingstall made a successful professional debut that saw her take a shutout victory on the referee’s scorecard over an experienced opponent who’d been in the ring with top talent like Natasha Jonas and Caroline Dubois.

Artingstall didn’t put a foot or a punch wrong across the six rounds of the fight, landing stiff shots and fast combinations from the first to the last bell, dominating her opponent.

The Tokyo 2020 medalist has now experienced a professional fight, without the head guards of amateur boxing, and experienced the process of a professional fight week. She now looks set to soar through the ranks of women’s boxing at 126lbs and find World Championship glory very soon.

Tyler Denny def. River Wilson Bent SD 10/10 (97-93, 96-93, 94-96)

The Coventry Skydome came alive for this 10 round war between passionate rivals Tyler Denny and River Wilson-Bent, whose bad blood only built between this fight and their first that ended in a controversial draw.

Tyler Denny left no question in the minds of the public after this fight however, taking the victory in this close, explosive fight via a split decision on the judge’s scorecards. Tyler Denny can now proudly call himself the English Middleweight Champion.

Denny consistently landed the more damaging shots across the fight, but was especially able to pin Wilson-Bent down in the first half of the fight. River Wilson-Bent had success across the fight, and every single round was competitive, but Tyler Denny took victory, handing Wilson-Bent the first loss of his professional career.

Former BOXXER Series winner Cori Gibbs returned to the ring for the first time since that tournament victory last November to extend his perfect record to 17-0. Gibbs produced a strong performance against high-quality opposition in Carlos Perez, who came into this fight with a strong winning record and was undefeated in his last four fights. Gibbs won all but one round on the referee’s scorecard and shook off any signs of ringrust after his recent layoff within seconds of the first bell ringing, landing fast combinations while making sure to receive little in return throughout the fight.

Gibbs will now look forward to more impressive fights under the BOXXER banner, first looking to step up to even stronger opposition and challenge for domestic titles against the best Super Lightweights in the UK.

Kaisee Benjamin def. Serge Ambomo PTS 6/6 (60-55)

Former Midlands Area Welterweight Champion Kaisee Benjamin gave a measured, intelligent performance in his six-round victory over a highly experienced opponent in Serge Ambomo. This performance sets Benjamin up well for big fights in future and ended a period of over half a year out of the ring.

Shakiel Thompson def. Bartosz Glowacki PTS 6/6 (60-54)

Tall, powerful Middleweight, and new BOXXER signee, Shakiel Thompson convincingly won every single round in his fight with dangerous opposition in Bartosz Glowacki, who had won four of his career victories by stoppage.

Thompson used his natural size and range to dominate the fight on the outside, but also showed the grit and skill to land shots from closer ranges, doing serious damage to Glowacki when he did. 

Thompson now looks on to better opposition and exciting opportunities in his new partnership with BOXXER.

Aaron McKenna def. David Benitez TKO 7/8 1:40

Ireland’s Aaron McKenna proved once again why he is one of the hottest prospects in world boxing by moving to 15-0 as a professional at only 22 years of age. Mckenna consistently outclassed his opponent across the first six rounds, and produced a whirlwind of powerful shots to force the stoppage victory, becoming the only man to stop Benitez across his 15 professional bouts.

Powerful Cruiserweight and former Team GB amatuer star Scott Forrest took another devastating stoppage victory in only the second fight of his career, moving to 2-0.

Visic’s corner was forced to throw in the towel in the 4th round after a brutal right hand from Forrest sent him tumbling to the canvas. Forrest has already shown serious boxing skill and fierce punch-power in these first two fights, and looks set to continue to do so in future.

London, England – (March 24, 2022) – London cruiserweight rivals Richard Riakporhe and Deion Jumah faced off today after a press conference which featured the elite crop of today’s top rising talents in British boxing, including light-heavyweight champion Dan Azeez, Caroline Dubois and the Azim brothers Hassan and Adam.

Here’s what the main event fighters had to say:

RICHARD RIAKPORHE

Absolutely. I think it’s my time. We lost a bit of momentum with inactivity and now we’re back on the midnight train. We’re moving swiftly, so my next opponent is just another opponent that I need to deal with in good fashion.

Looking into Deion, it’s interesting. He’s been pro for a very long time, only had 14 fights, never had any significant wins. It makes you wonder what is going on with him. He calls himself ‘The Ghost’ – he has been a ghost. It just shows there’s different levels, you know? 

I don’t know, I think there’s something about it. Maybe it’s bad luck [on his part], I don’t know. But we’re going to put our finger on it on Saturday night.

He’s been talking a good game and he’s undefeated as well. I understand how undefeated fighters are quite stubborn but once I start letting my hands go, I don’t think he’s got the condition to withstand the punishment.

DEION JUMAH

I think Richard is still very early in his learning curve. He’s shown a bit more boxing skills over the last two, three fights. But he will have to revert back to his power-punching and offloading heavy shots, going for knockout early in this fight when he finds out I’m the superior boxer. So this is what we expect from him and this is what we know is going to happen.

I’m the superior boxer for sure and if he wants to offload [power] the way he has done in the past, then I’ve got something for him.

BEN SHALOM, PROMOTER

Yeah, it’s exciting. Richard was the first fighter we signed [after the Sky deal] and we had dreams of him headlining and winning world titles. That will happen. Unfortunately Fabio Turchi pulled out and it just shows Richard’s character to take this on. 

Richard will deal with Deion on Saturday night – he’s got a lot of power, he’s dealt with everyone else [domestically] – and then we’ll be on to world titles, but credit for Deion Jumah. Don’t overlook him he’s a he’s a top operator as well. It’s gonna be a crackling atmosphere. I can’t wait.

In a much awaited grudge match, former world champion Kell Brook stopped Amir Khan in round six of their 12-round bout at the AO Arena in Manchester, England.

In round one, Brook wobbled Khan on two occasions. The first was from a hard jab. The second was from a hard right hand. In round six, Brook hurt Khan again with a jab. Brook began to pour on the offense until the fight was stopped at 51 seconds.

Brook, 148.3 lbs of Sheffield, ENG is 40-3 with 28 knockouts. Khan, 147.3 lbs of Bolton, ENG is 34-6.

Natasha Jonas won the vacant WBO Super Welterweight title with a 2nd round stoppage of Chris Namus.

In round one, Jonas dropped Namus with a right hook. In round two, it was a straight left off of a furious exchange that sent Namus down again. Namus got to her feet, but the fight was waved off at 28 seconds.

Jonas, 149.3 lbs is 11-2-1 with eight knockouts. Namus, 147.3 lbs of Uraguay is 25-7-1.

2021 Olympic Bronze Medal winner Frazer Clarke made a successful pro debut with a 1st round stoppage over Jake Darnell in a heavyweight fight.

In round one, Darnell began bleeding from his nose. Shortly after, Clarke landed a big combination that was set off by a body shot that was followed by several head shots that forced the corner of Darnell to throw in the towel at 2:06.

Clarke, 256 lbs is 1-0 with one knockout. Darnell, 248.3 lbs of Blackpool, ENG is 0-1.

Hasan Azim won a four-round decision over MJ Hall in a welterweight bout.

Azim, 148 lbs won by a 40-36 score and is 2-0. Hall is now 2-74-2.

Adam Azim stopped Jordan Ellison in round three of their six-round junior welterweight bout.

In round one, Azim dropped Ellison with a right to the body. In round three, Azim landed a hard left hook to the head that dropped Ellison down and out at 2:09.

Azim, 138.4 lbs is 3-0 with two knockouts. Ellison, 138.4 lbs is 13-36-2.

Brad Rea scored a vicious opening round stoppage over Craig McCarthy in a middleweight fight.

Rea landed a ripping undercard that sent McCarthy down on his back, and the fight was stopped before the 10-count could be completed at 1:53.

Rea, 160.3 lbs of Sweatburg, ENG is 12-0 with five knockouts. McCarthy, 161.3 lbs of Waterford, IRE is 8-1-1.

Viddal Riley won a six-round decision over Will Shihepo in a cruiserweight bout.

In round one, Riley dropped Shihepo with a right uppercut.

Riley, 197 lbs of London, ENG won by a 60-53 score and is now 5-0. Shihepo, 196.3 lbs of Namibia is 25-14.

Germaine Brown won a 10-round unanimous decision over Charlie Schofield in a super middleweight fight.

Brown, 168 lbs of London, UK won by scores of 99-92 and 98-92 twice and is now 12-0. Schofield, 168 lbs of Manchester, UK is 17-2.
