OMAR TRINIDAD DEFEATS ADAN OCHOA AT COMMERCE CASINO

Los Angeles, CA (April 14, 2023) Friday night in front of a sold-out boxing crowd at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, Tom Loeffler’s 360 Promotions presented another edition of Hollywood Fights Night‘The Most Entertaining Boxing Show in the United States’, broadcast internationally on UFC FIGHT PASS.

With Fast Rising Irish Star Callum Walsh along with WBC #3 Ranked and WBC Super Welterweight Continental Americas Champion Serhii Bohachuk sitting ringside, the can’t miss main event harkened back to the legacy of Los Angeles’ cross-town rivalries. Omar Trinidad, (12-0-1, 9 KOs) of Boyle Heights kept his winning ways moving forward with an eight-round unanimous decision over Adan Ochoa, (12-3, 5 KO’s), of Downey, CA. Scores were 80-72 twice and 78-74.

With huge crowds of passionate supporters for both fighters cheering on their feet throughout the heated clash, Trinidad used his effective aggressiveness to score over the first two rounds. Ochoa turned the tables and found success in the third round, however it was short lived as Trinidad would control the action as the fourth round commenced. Using his superior skills, Trinidad would continue to seize the battle in the second half over the valiant Ochoa.

In a special attraction four-round middleweight bout, Gabriel Silva, (1-0), son of UFC Legend Anderson Silva, impressively won his pro debut defeating southpaw Angelo Thompson. Scores were 39-36 twice and 38-37. With his father looking on closely, Silva controlled the fight throughout with sharp combinations and a tight defense.

Newly signed to 360 Promotions, Cain Sandoval of Sacramento, CA stayed perfect, (9-0, 9 KOs), with a fifth-round (2:34) knockout of Jose Angulo, (14-6, 7 KOs). Dropping Angulo in the second round, Sandoval kept the pressure on and scored another knockdown in the fifth stanza before the fight was waived off.

Light heavyweight standout Umar Dzambekov, (4-0, 3 KOs), of Los Angeles, CA continued the torrid start to his professional career with a third-round knockout of Nathan Sharp, (4-5, 2 KOs), of Merced, CA The southpaw dropped Sharp in the opening stanza and continued with combinations to the head and body prior to the stoppage.

Welterweights were also in action as Oswaldo Lopez, (4-0-1, 4 KOs), of Maywood, CA and Juan Manuel Gomez, (4-2-1, 4 KOs), of Livermore, CA fought to a spirited six-round split decision draw. Scores were 58-56 for each and 57-57 on the third judge’s card.

In a women’s flyweight battle, popular Gloria Munguilla, (3-0), of Los Angeles, CA stayed undefeated with a four-round majority decision over pro debuting Nikkia Williams, (0-1), also of Los Angeles, CA.

November 20: Raymond Muratalla-Elias Araujo Lightweight Battle Confirmed to Open Terence Crawford-Shawn Porter ESPN+ PPV at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 10, 2021) — Raymond “Danger” Muratalla, the 24-year-old lightweight star from Fontana, California, has a new opponent for his PPV debut Saturday, Nov. 20 at Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. After unbeaten prospect Steven Ortiz was forced to withdraw due to injury, Muratalla will fight Argentina’s Elias “El Macho” Araujo in an eight-rounder to open the PPV broadcast of the welterweight super fight between undefeated WBO world champion Terence “Bud” Crawford and former two-time welterweight world champion “Showtime” Shawn Porter.

The PPV telecast also includes a 12-round IBF middleweight title eliminator featuring unbeaten contenders Esquiva “La Pantera” Falcao and Patrice Volny, and a 10-round middleweight tilt between rising star Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly and former world champion Hassan N’Dam.

Presented by Top Rank and TGB Promotions, Crawford-Porter will be a Top Rank PPV exclusively on ESPN+ in the United States at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.  Limited tickets are still available and can be purchased by visiting AXS.com.

Muratalla (12-0, 10 KOs), who trains with Robert Garcia in Riverside, California, has won seven consecutive bouts by knockout. Araujo (21-3, 8 KOs) has never been stopped as a professional, and his only two lightweight defeats have come via close decision. He was supposed to fight Joseph Adorno in Las Vegas on Nov. 5, but the bout was scrapped after Adorno missed the contract weight.

Before the PPV broadcast commences, Southern California natives Adam “BluNose” Lopez and Adan Ochoa will fight in an eight-round featherweight rematch on the undercard telecast (ESPN2 & ESPN+, 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT) headlined by the scheduled 10-round featherweight firefight between former world champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe and two-time title challenger Christopher “Pitufo” Diaz. Lopez (15-3, 6 KOs) hopes to rebound from June’s razor-thin decision loss to Dogboe, while Ochoa (12-2, 5 KOs) seeks retribution. Ochoa and Lopez fought as undefeated prospects in April 2017, and Lopez prevailed by four-round unanimous decision.

The fight action begins on the ESPN App (6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT) with a pair of young stars. 2016 U.S. Olympian Karlos Balderas (10-1, 9 KOs) looks to continue his winning ways against Julio Cortez (15-3, 11 KOs) in a six-rounder at junior lightweight, while recent U.S. Olympian Tiger Johnson will make his long-awaited professional debut in a welterweight four-rounder versus Antonius Grable (3-1-1, 3 KOs). Johnson recently signed a long-term promotional pact with Top Rank.

Balderas, the fighting pride of Santa Maria, California, lost his unbeaten record with a shocking knockout loss to Rene Tellez Giron in December 2019. After the setback, Balderas changed managers, signed a promotional contract with Top Rank, and linked up with noted trainer Buddy McGirt. He came back in August with a second-round knockout over Fidel Cervantes. Cortez, a seven-year pro, has never been knocked out.

Johnson, from Cleveland, Ohio, advanced to the quarterfinals of the welterweight bracket at the Tokyo Olympics before losing a decision to eventual gold medalist Roniel Iglesias (Cuba).

Red-hot featherweight Luna faces upstart Ochoa for vacant USNBC title

Providence, RI (June 7, 2021) – A new main event headlines CES Boxing’s huge summer spectacular on Saturday, June 19 as two fierce featherweight warriors compete for the coveted WBC title.

With Irvin Gonzalez Jr. sustaining an injury in training camp, Dominican Republic native “El Gato” Angel Luna (14-6-1, 7 KOs) steps to the plate to face 23-year-old Los Angeles prospect Adan Ochoa (11-2, 4 KOs) in the main event of CES’ long-awaited return to live action at historic Cranston Stadium in Cranston, RI. Luna-Ochoa is eight rounds for the vacant WBC USNBC Featherweight Title, streaming live on UFC FIGHT PASS® as part of Rhode Island’s first outdoor boxing event in more than 60 years.

Tickets are available online at CESFights.com. To sign up for FIGHT PASS, visit ufcfightpass.com, or download the UFC app. Showtime is noon, followed by the live FIGHT PASS stream at 1 pm. A separate-admission amateur card begins at 5 pm.

Also fighting June 19, four-time world champion Jaime “Hurricane” Clampitt (22-5-1, 7 KOs) returns for the first time in eight years in a six-round special attraction against fellow Canadian and former world-title holder Olivia Gerula (18-19-2, 3 KOs) of Ontario. Clampitt, a native of Saskatchewan, won world titles at lightweight and super lightweight and will now compete in the 135-pound division.

Fresh off his sixth pro win in mixed martial arts in April, light heavyweight Gary Balletto III (1-0, 1 KO) boxes for the first time since 2019 and for the first time in his hometown when he faces Idaho’s William Dunkle – also a pro MMA fighter – who will be making his professional boxing debut in a four-round bout. Balletto joins his younger brother, Aiden Balletto, who competes on the amateur event.

Undefeated featherweight Ricky Delossantos (9-0, 1 KO) aims for double-digit victories in his long-awaited return against Puerto Rican challenger Alberto Nieves (4-1-1, 2 KOs) in a six-round bout and “Bling Bling” Michael Valentin (6-1-1, 1 KO) battles Nassau, Bahamas native Lester Brown (4-3-3, 1 KO) in a four-round super featherweight bout.

A pair of undefeated welterweight teammates also return as Victor Reynoso (6-0, 5 KOs) of Providence, pictured above, and James Perella (6-0, 4 KOs) of Mansfield, MA, highlight the undercard in separate bouts. Reynoso faces the dangerous Martez Jackson (5-4-3, 2 KOs) of Macon, GA, in a four-round bout while Perella battles 18-year-old Mexican challenger Gael Ibarra (5-3, 4 KOs) in a six-round bout. Super lightweight Wilson Mascarenhas (3-1) of New Bedford, MA, fights for the first time since November of 2019 when he faces Alberta, Canada native Angelo Habib (1-0) in a four-round bout.

The June 19 outdoor event adds another historic layer to CES’ rich tradition of world-class boxing and entertainment. The 82-year-old Cranston Stadium – officially completed in 1939 – has hosted some of Rhode Island’s most historic events, including legendary high school football rivalries, minor-league baseball, and semi-professional soccer, but it’s been 73 years since its last professional boxing event. June 19 is also believed to be Rhode Island’s first outdoor boxing event since August 25, 1959, held at Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence.

Now living and training in East Haven, CT, the 31-year-old Luna hopes to continue his recent post-COVID resurgence with what would be his fourth consecutive victory dating back to 2019. The former Bronx, NY, resident has faced some of the toughest competitors in the featherweight division, including Rhode Island’s Toka Kahn Clary, Bryant Cruz, and former IBF world champion Tevin Farmer. In 2015, he scored one of the biggest wins of his career, upsetting previously-unbeaten Jose Lopez in Brooklyn.

The recent win streak, which features arguably his most complete performance as a pro against 25-fight veteran Michael Gaxiola in February, has boosted Luna’s confidence; “I feel things are finally going my way,” he said. Now, on June 19 in front of a worldwide audience on combat sports’ premier streaming platform, Luna gets the opportunity of a lifetime to fight for a belt once worn by the likes of Alantez Fox, Chad Dawson, Adrien Broner, and Paul Williams, all of whom are former or current USNBC title-holders.

Like Luna, Ochoa has climbed the ladder facing elite competition in the 126-pound weight class, winning eight consecutive bouts before making his network television debut in September at The MGM Grand on ESPN against Edward Vazquez.

Born in Long Beach and raised in Compton, Ochoa began boxing at 10 years old at the behest of his father, who wanted his son to stay on the right path and avoid negative influences outside of the gym. After two wins as a pro, he stepped up to face then 5-0 Adam Lopez, a fight he describes as a major learning experience and turning point in his career. Ochoa also faced current unbeaten lightweight prospect Ryan Garcia and continues to be a positive influence in his community both in and out the ring; in November of 2019, he teamed with three-time world champion Abner Mares to launch a Thanksgiving food drive in Compton.

There were times in camp I didn’t feel like working out or running, but I thought about my brother, and he motivated me. Just the thought of him being a world champ brought out the best of me in camp.”
