Pauldo Stops Theran After 7

“I never thought it would go like this,” said Pauldo, post-fight. “I thought I would blaze him out. That may have been the problem. He caught me early, but I was in good shape, so I bounced right back and got the job done. That was good adversity for me to face early in my career.

“He was a strong guy. I’ve fought harder punchers, but he was also very awkward. I saw the jab was taking the confidence away from him, so I stayed behind the jab and beat him to the punch. I want all the big names. Anyone who wants to give me a shot. I want to show the world I belong at the top.”

WORLD-RANKED LIGHTWEIGHT DYNAMO JUSTIN PAULDO COLLIDES WITH HARD-PUNCHING NIKE THERAN IN 10-ROUND MAIN EVENT OF PROBOXTV’S THE CONTENDER SERIES AT SAVE MART CENTER IN FRESNO, SAT., NOVEMBER 29

(November 24, 2025) – On Saturday, November 29, at the Save Mart Center at Fresno State in Fresno, California, ProBoxTV, the first and only global sports streaming and media company dedicated exclusively to professional boxing, will proudly present another signature stacked night of action-packed 50/50 matchups on its flagship The Contender Series, broadcast live on ProBoxTV beginning at 7:00 pm ET/4:00 pm PT.

In a 10-round head-on collision of a lightweight main event, WBC #11-rated Justin “The Million Dollar Man” Pauldo (19-2, 9 KOs) will face hard-punching South American strongman Nike Theran (20-1, 14 KOs) of Barranquilla, Colombia.

“Coming off his stellar performance against highly regarded Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov, Justin Pauldo will be looking to continue his climb to a world title shot,” said ProBoxTV’s founder and CEO, Garry Jonas. “This should be a phenomenal fight and a real test to see if Justin Pauldo is that guy. If he has another performance like Rakhimov, he is the running for a title fight in the 135-lb division.”

Born in Orlando, Florida, but now living in Houston and training with world-renowned coach Ronnie Shields, 31-year-old Justin Pauldo is a four-time ProBoxTV veteran. Pauldo came to ProBox after having put together 11 consecutive wins since his first defeat, a split-decision to Efrain Cruz in July 2015. In his ProBoxTV debut in August 2023, Pauldo scored a 10-round unanimous decision over Eduardo Estela (then 14-2) at the Whitesands Events Center in Plant City, Florida. He returned there in November 2023 to stop Jerry Perez (then 14-3-1) in three rounds, winning the WBA Continental North America Lightweight Championship.

Pauldo suffered his second career setback on ProBoxTV air in February 2024, dropping a controversial 10-round split decision to Miguel Madueno (30-2), but returned to ProBoxTV a year later to score a sensational upset eighth-round knockout over former IBF World Super Featherweight Champion Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov (then 17-1-1) in February of this year. Pauldo scored two knockdowns on the night, the latter of the two produced an immediate stoppage at 1:53.

In his most recent ring appearance, Pauldo took a 10-round unanimous decision over Said Chino last August.

“Training has been great,” said Pauldo. “I’ve gotten a lot of great work to sharpen my skills and be at my best come fight night. I know my opponent is a tough guy coming out of Colombia. He’s got quite a few fights under his belt, so I’m looking forward to facing an experienced and hungry fighter and to being back on ProBoxTV. I’m going to put on a great show for all the fans.”

28-year-old Nike Theran is a nearly nine-year professional and former WBC Latino Super Featherweight Champion. He will be making his debut fighting in the United States, having spent the bulk of his career fighting in South America and The Dominican Republic.

Theran has won two consecutive fights since suffering his only career setback in October 2023, a controversial 12-round unanimous decision to Italian contender Michael Magnesi (then 22-1) for the WBC Silver Super Featherweight Championship.

“Training camp has been going great; I’m very motivated,” said Theran. “Pauldo is a very good fighter and one of the best on ProBoxTV because he likes to fight. God gave me this opportunity and I’m well-prepared physically and mentally to win. I’m very happy for the opportunity and being in this important fight only gives me more motivation.”

In the exciting 10-round super featherweight co-feature WBC #4-ranked Muhammad Yaqubov (23-1, 12 KOs) of Isfara, Tajikistan, will go to war with Cristian “Lacandonsito” Cruz Chacon (24-7-1, 12 KOs) of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Yaqubov had been scheduled to face Jessie Magdaleno in the night’s original main event, but Magdaleno pulled out with an injury.

“We’re not happy that Jessie Magdaleno fell out,” said Garry Jonas, “but we’re fortunate enough to get a great replacement in Cristian Cruz Chacon, who recently had a huge win over Jeremy Hill on ProBoxTV. Honestly, this could be a tougher test for Yaqubov.”

30-year-old southpaw Muhammad Yaqubov started boxing at the age of 10 and turned professional in late 2015. In his 10-year career, Yaqubov has held several regional titles, including the WBC International super-featherweight, which he successfully defended four times, with victories included over Emanuel López (29-9-1), NABF champ Abraham Montoya (18-1-1) and former two-time world champ Tomás Rojas.

In March 2022, Yaqubov suffered his only career loss via a 12-round unanimous decision in a WBC title eliminator to current WBC World Super Featherweight Champion O’Shaquie Foster. He has since rebounded with five consecutive victories, including impressive wins over Pablo Vicente (23 1) in a 10-round WBC Super Featherweight Title Eliminator, Zafar Parpiev (13-2) and his most recent fight, a 10-round majority decision over William Foster III to win the WBC USA Super Feather Championship in August of this year and live on ProBoxTV. The win was Yaqubov’s first under new head trainer Manny Robles.

Holding one of the most deceiving records in boxing, 28-year-old Cruz Chacon turned professional in 2014 and disappointingly lost five of his first seven fights before turning things around and going 22-2-1 since then.

Along the way, he has scored notable victories over Diego Ortiz Aleman (12-1-1), Jesus Acosta Ayala (15-1-1), a first-round stoppage of Pablo Robles (15-3), an eight-round stoppage of Rafael Rosas Ramirez (19-3-2), a third-round stoppage of former world title challenger David Carmona, and his most recent ring appearance, an impressive split decision victory over a streaking Jeremy Hill (22-3-1) in September of this year on ProBoxTV.

Also, on the televised slate that night is a highly anticipated women’s battle for the vacant WBC World Super Flyweight Championship between WBC #2 Adelaida Maria “La Cobra” Ruiz (17-1-1, 8 KOs) of Downey, California, via Los Angeles and WBC #4 Alexas “Iron Lady” Kubicki (13-2, 2 KOs) of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

A longtime feared contender, 37-year-old Ruiz’s aggressive style, strength, and punching power make her a dangerous foe for any of the world’s female super flyweights. A victory over Kubicki will give her an opportunity to avenge her only career loss, a thrilling 10-round split decision to Ginny Fuchs for the WBC Interim World Super Flyweight Championship in August 2024. The WBC have ordered the winner of Ruiz vs Kubicki to fight Interim champ Fuchs, who has been out of action for 14 months due to injuries suffered in the fight with Ruiz and promotional issues.

Alexas Kubicki will be having just her second fight on U.S. soil. In her most recent fight, the 22-year-old lost by seventh-round TKO in a brave stand against undisputed World Champion Gabriela Fundora in September. A former WBC World Youth and WBC International Champion, Kubicki’s technical skills are predicted to test Ruiz’s aggression in what promises to be a thrilling clash of styles.

Incredibly, the televised thrills will also include WBC and WBO #1-, IBF #8-, and WBA #12-ranked light flyweight southpaw Erik Badillo Mares (18-0, 8 KOs) of México, Mexico, taking on WBC #13- and WBO #12-ranked former WBO World Champion Elwin “La Pulga” Soto (21-3-1, 13 KOs) of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, in a 10-round high-stakes battle between two of the division’s top contenders; as well as a 10-round super lightweight rumble between knockout artist Carlos Balderas (16-2, 14 KOs) of Santa Maria, California, and proven veteran Ricardo Quiroz (13-6, 7 KOs) of Oxnard, California.

The opening televised bout will feature the sole addition to ProBoxTV’s Future Stars Series, which features emerging boxing talents and serves as a platform for up-and-coming fighters to showcase their skills, as undefeated lightweight Charlie Sheehy (11-0, 6 KOs) of Brisbane, California, will continue to try and prove his worth against veteran D’Angelo Keyes (18-6, 11 KOs) of Houston.

Tickets to attend ProBoxTV’s The Contender Series in person at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California, start at $77 and are available from the ProBoxTV website, the Save Mart Center Box Office, or directly from Ticketmaster.

The main event will feature the first-ever world title unification fight in Costa Rica as IBF Minimumweight World Champion, Yokasta “Yoka” Valle (25-2, 9 KOs), of San Jose, Costa Rica faces off against undefeated, WBO Minimumweight World Champion Thi Thu Nhi Nguyen (5-0, 1 KOs) of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in a 10-round world championship.

The newly announced co-main event will feature a bad-blood rematch between WBC Interim Super Flyweight title holder Sonia Osorio (15-7-2, 2 KOs)  who will defend her title against Adelaida “La Cobra” Ruiz (11-0-1, 6 KOs). The two will meet again after their first scrap in March 2021 ended in a draw when the fight was stopped at the second round after Osorio suffered a cut over her left eye due to an accidental head butt, allowing Osorio to keep the WBC interim title.

Osorio, originally from Mexico City, captured the WBC Interim Super Flyweight title in October 2019 when she outboxed Estrella Valverde and defeated her by unanimous decision. She has faced top fighters such as Seniesa Estrada and Marlen Esparza and plans to retain her title a second time against Ruiz.

“I’m very happy to once again fight against Adelaida Ruiz,” said Sonia Osorio. “It’s a fight that has been a long time in the making. Like always, I am working hard. I’m a professional, and I hope to deliver a great fight. I know it will be a great event, and I will retain my title because that’s why I have been training so hard.”

Representing Los Angeles, Ruiz’s only blemish is a technical draw against Osorio, but immediately returned to the ring with back-to-back knockout victories over Nancy Franco and Edith Flores.

“This fight means a lot to me,” said Adelaida Ruiz. “I’ve wanted this fight for more than a year. I felt like they took the title away from me when I fought her in Mexico, but God has given me another opportunity to fight for the title. It’s a big step forward in my career, and I’m willing to sacrifice everything to win. We are training very hard for this fight. Sonia will see a different ‘Cobra,’ both mentally and physically.”

Opening the televised card, Pico Rivera, CA’s Angel “El Moreno” Rodriguez (11-1, 8 KOs) will battle Monterrey, Mex.’s Ivan Delgado (5-0, 3 KOs) in a 6-round lightweight match. Also featured on the card is Long Beach, CA’s Raul “Money” Solomon (11-1, 9 KOs) in a 6-round super middleweight fight and Tijuana, Mex.’s Jose Garcia (15-1-1, 14 KOs) who will participate in an 8-round super lightweight fight. Opponents for both will be announced soon.

Kickstarting fight night, Mexico City’s Anabel “Avispa” Ortiz (31-5, 4 KOs) will be looking to redeem her record after suffering a loss to Marlen Esparza last December. A two-time mini flyweight world champion, Ortiz held the WBA title from 2013 to 2021 and the WBC title from 2009 to 2011. She will be in a 10-round flyweight bout against Maria “La Imparable” Santizo (9-1, 5 KOs) of Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Golden Boy Fight Night on DAZN: Valle vs. Nguyen is presented by Golden Boy in association with Marvnation. The 10-round minimumweight event is sponsored by “BetOnline – Your Online Sportsbook Experts.” The fight will take place on Thursday, September 8 at Ciudad Deportiva Heiner Ugalde, Hatillo, San José, Costa Rica, and will be streamed live worldwide on DAZN and the Golden Boy Boxing Youtube Channel.

MarvNation Extends Promotional Agreements with World Title Challenger Adelaida Ruiz and Rising Prospects Angel and Nathan Rodriguez

POMONA, California (July 25, 2022): MarvNation Promotions is delighted to announce that world title challenger Adelaida Ruiz and rising prospects Angel and Nathan Rodriguez have extended their promotional agreements with the company. All three boxers will return on upcoming cards in the very near future.

“It feels amazing to be extending these agreements with our fighters,” said Marvin Rodriguez, Founder and CEO of MarvNation Promotions. “I want to thank each of them for their trust, their loyalty and the hard work that they put in. Adelaida Ruiz will be fighting for a world title soon in September, while Angel and Nathan will continue working hard to achieve that goal as well. This is the beginning of a new era for MarvNation, and we are here to stay.”

Adelaida Ruiz (11-0-1, 6 KOs) is a native of Los Angeles who debuted as a professional in 2017. Since then, she has remained undefeated in 12 fights. Her only setback is a technical draw against interim world champion Sonia Osorio. After that, Ruiz bounced back with stoppage wins over Nancy Franco and Edith Flores. The 33-year-old was initially slated to face Osorio in a rematch on July 29, but the fight was postponed after Osorio tested positive for COVID. Details for the new date will be announced shortly.

“I’m excited to be signing this extension,” said Adelaida Ruiz. “I like working with MarvNation Promotions. I’ve been given great opportunities with them, and I see more coming. As we’ve grown together within the sport, they have been able to fulfill my dream of fighting for a world title, and there will be more to come.”

Angel Rodriguez (11-1, 8 KOs) is a Mexican-American prospect from Pico Rivera, California. The 22-year-old made his pro debut in December 2018 and has developed an international resume by fighting in Mexico, Costa Rica and in his native country. Rodriguez suffered a small setback in January against Jose Marrufo in his first bid for a regional title, but he bounced back with a thunderous knockout win over Gabriel Gutierrez this past Saturday.

“It feels great signing with the best promotional company in boxing,” said Angel Rodriguez. “They are doing a lot of great things and are giving a lot of fighters an opportunity in this sport. You’ve got to respect that. By the end of this contract, I see myself becoming a world champion and fighting the best out there.”

Nathan Rodriguez (8-0, 7 KOs) is a 17-year-old prodigy who made his professional debut at only 16 years of age back in January of 2021. Since then, he has fought several times in Costa Rica and in Mexico. The 122-pound prospect, who turns 18 next month, will fight stateside for the first time on Aug. 27 at Smith Park in Pico Rivera, California on the next MarvNation Promotions card.

“I want to thank MarvNation for the opportunity,” said Nathan Rodriguez. “I’m excited for what we have planned in the future. I did all my fights outside of the country because I’m not 18 yet, but I’ll finally be making my U.S. debut on August 27 and I’m looking forward to taking my career to the next level.”

Adelaida Ruiz to Challenge Sonia Osorio in Rematch for WBC Interim Super Flyweight Championship on July 29 in San Jose, Costa Rica

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica (June 22, 2022)Adelaida “La Cobra” Ruiz (11-0-1, 6 KOs) will have her second opportunity to challenge for the WBC Interim Super Flyweight Championship when she faces Sonia Osorio (15-7-2, 4 KOs) in 10-round a rematch on Friday, July 29 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The fight will be featured on a MarvNation Promotions card. Additional details regarding the event, including streaming details, will be announced shortly.

Ruiz is a native of Los Angeles who debuted as a professional in 2017. Since then, she has remained undefeated in 12 fights. Her only setback is a technical draw against Osorio in their first fight. The fight was stopped due to a cut above Osorio’s left eye that was caused by an accidental headbutt. After that, Ruiz bounced back with two stoppage wins over Nancy Franco and Edith Flores. The 33-year-old feels that this rematch is her chance to finish what she started back in March 2021.

Osorio is a 29-year-old native of Mexico City who has faced top fighters such as Seniesa Estrada and Marlen Esparza. Despite suffering losses in those fights, Osorio earned a shot at Estrella Valverde and defeated her by unanimous decision to capture the WBC Interim Super Flyweight Title. Osorio is confident that she will retain her title against Ruiz.

“We are very excited to have gotten this rematch against Sonia Osorio,” said Marvin Rodriguez, CEO and Founder of MarvNation Promotions. “The first fight ended too early, and as a result, the world didn’t get to see how talented Ruiz is in her first title shot. She is an amazing fighter, and I know she will perform. Our goal is to capture all the belts in this weight class, but first we need to take care of business on July 29.”
