Albert Ramirez remained undefeated and retained the WBA Interim Light Heavyweight Title with a 12-round split decision over Lerone Richards at The Montreal Casino in Montreal, Canada.

It was a tactical fight that saw Richards befuddle Ramirez.

Ramirez,174.7 lbs of El Vega, VEN took two cards by 115-113 twice and Richards took a card 116-112.

Ramirez is 23-0. Richards, 174.6 lbs of New Malden, UK is 19-2.

Imam Khataev stopped Mickeal Diallo in the opening round of their 10-round light heavyweight bout.

With both guys throwing right hands, Diallo’s landed and the glove of Khataev touched the canvas. Seconds later, Khataev landed a hard right that bout Diallo. Diallo looked at his corner and wanted no more and the fight was stopped at 3:00.

Khataev, 174.6 lbs of Sydney, AUS is 12-1 with 11 knockouts. Diallo, 171.5 lbs of Thuir, FRA is 21-3-2/

Jhon Orobio remained undefeated as he battered Jonathan Montrel in round four of a 10-round junior welterweight fight.

In round four, Orobio dropped Montrel after battery of punches. Later in the round, a hard right to the body put Montrel down again. Finally Oriobio landed more ripping body shots and the fight was stopped at 2:15.

Orobio, 139.6 lbs of Montreak is now 18-0 with 16 knockouts. Montrel, 138.4 lbs of New Orleans is 18-5

Dzmitry Asanau remained undefeated with a sixth round stoppage over Roger Gutierrez in a 10-round lightweight fight.

In round six, Asanau dropped Gutierrez with a body shot. Seconds later, Asanau dropped Gutierrez with a hard uppercut and the fight was over at 1:51.

Asanau, 134.9 lbs of Dubai is 13-0 with seven knockouts. Gutierrez a former junior lightweight world champion from Venezuela is 29-8-1.

Avery Martin Duval reasoned undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Jose Enriquez in a lightweight fight.

Duval, 134.5 lbs of Montreal won by scores of 100-90 on all cards and is now 16-0-1. Enriquez, 134.3 lbs of Monterrey, MEX is 22-5-2.

Wyatt Sanford stopped Juan Pablo Harregui in round two of their eight-round lightweight bout.

In round two, Sanford opened up on Harregui and landed a huge left uppercut that was followed by four more hard shots that put Harrehui on the canvas. When he got to his feet, the fight was waved off at

Sanford, 136.9 lbs of Kennetcook, CAN is now 7-0 with three knockouts. Harregui, 136.5 lbs of Montevideo, URU is 11-2.

Keven Beausejour stopped Davorin Brajkovic in the opening round of their four-round light heavyweight bout.

In round one, Beausejor landed a left to the body that put Brajkovic down for the count at 2:25.

Beausejour, 171 lbs of Montreal is 3-0 with three knockouts. Brajkovic, 171.5 lbs of Melkovici, CRO is 3-6.

Nickenson Denis made a successful pro debut with a second round stoppage Lukasz Kucharski in a four-round light heavyweight bout.

In round one, Demis landed a hard straight right that put Kucharski on canvas. In round two, Denis opened up and landed a vicious flurry and the fight was stopped at 39 seconds.

Denis, 171 lbs of Montreal is 1-0 with one knockout. Kucharski, 171.2 lbs of Radom, POL is 1-4.

Both have a lot to gain and a lot to lose, but we are confident that with a victory, Albert Ramirez’s name will be in all discussions for major fights with Bivol, Beterbiev, or Benavidez,” said EOTTM president Camille Estephan.

In August 2025, Albert Ramirez (22-0, 19 KOs) captured the WBA interim title by stopping top-10 contender Jerome Papellone in the 7th round of a bout held in front of more than ten thousand spectators in Libya and broadcast globally on DAZN. Ramirez was then scheduled to defend his title on February 5 against Richards before being hospitalized on an emergency basis just 24 hours before the fight.

However, Ramirez’s absence did nothing to diminish his reputation as one of the best light heavyweights in the world. In addition to his interim crown, he remains ranked #2 and #4 in his division by BoxRec and Ring Magazine. Now back at 100%, he intends to make up for lost time by finally settling matters with Richards.

In August 2025, Albert Ramirez (22-0, 19 KOs) captured the WBA interim light heavyweight crown by stopping the world’s No. 9 contender Jerome Pampellone in the seventh round of a bout broadcast on DAZN and staged in Benghazi, Libya. That victory was the third of a sensational year for the Rio Olympic boxer, who also stopped Asian champion Michael Flannery and Croatian contender Marko Calic in three and two rounds, respectively, in Montreal. MONTREAL, December 29, 2025 — Eye of the Tiger is closing out 2025 in an unprecedented position in its nearly 15-year history. The numbers speak for themselves: among the 23 athletes under contract with the team, 17 are currently world-ranked, including three world champions — Osleys Iglesias (IBO), Christian Mbilli (WBC Interim), Albert Ramirez (WBA Interim).

At the top of the list, what a year it was for Montreal’s Christian Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs). On June 27, in front of nearly 5,500 fans at Centre Vidéotron, the Marc Ramsay protégé finally realized his dream of becoming a world champion. That night, “Solide” needed just one round to stop Poland’s Maciej Sulecki, the world No. 7 contender, to claim the WBC Interim Super Middleweight World Title. Less than three months later, on September 13, Mbilli successfully defended his title by fighting to a draw against world No. 3 contender Lester Martinez.

Adding to the significance, the Mbilli–Martinez bout was featured on the undercard of the highly publicized “fight of the century” between Saul Alvarez and Terence Crawford. The event took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in front of more than 70,000 spectators, with an additional 40 million viewers watching worldwide on Netflix. Mbilli seized the opportunity to shine before an unprecedented audience for a Quebec boxer, with his bout against Martinez being named Fight of the Night.

Although he has held the IBO Super Middleweight World Title since 2022, Osleys Iglesias (14-0, 13 KOs) used 2025 to secure his path toward a second world championship. On September 4 at the Casino de Montréal, “El Tornado” dismantled world No. 2 contender Vladimir Shishkin in eight rounds, becoming the mandatory challenger for the IBF 168-pound title. Initially, this positioned him for a bout against IBF champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, who was later defeated by Terence “Bud” Crawford before announcing his retirement. As a result, Iglesias will now have the opportunity to fight for the vacant title in his next bout. The only remaining question is who will step up to face him, as the Cuban has built a reputation over the past two years as one of the most feared fighters in the sport, pound for pound.

At light heavyweight, Albert Ramirez (22-0, 19 KOs) completed EOTTM’s trio of world champions on August 8 by stopping world No. 9 contender Jerome Pampellone in the seventh round to become the WBA Interim Light Heavyweight World Champion. The bout took place in Libya before a crowd of more than 10,000 fans and was broadcast worldwide on DAZN. It marked Ramirez’s third victory of the year, following dominant stoppage wins over Croatian contender Marko Calic and Asian champion Michael Flannery in three and two rounds, respectively, at the Casino de Montréal.

Continuing along the world-title path, two Eye of the Tiger fighters competed in unified world championship bouts in 2025. After a powerful knockout win over Elhem Mekhaled in June, Leïla Beaudoin (13-2, 2 KOs) earned a shot at the undisputed super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner on December 19, fighting on the undercard of the highly publicized Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul event. Despite losing by unanimous decision, the Quebec fighter impressed with her courage and determination in front of thousands of fans at the Kaseya Center in Miami — and, more importantly, tens of millions of viewers on Netflix.

A few weeks earlier, on October 31, Canadian Mary Spencer (10-3, 6 KOs) fought for three world titles. Already holding the WBA title, which she had successfully defended for the first time against Ogleidis Suarez in April, she faced American Mikaela Mayer with the vacant WBC and WBO super welterweight titles also on the line. Mayer ultimately claimed her fifth, sixth, and seventh world titles via unanimous decision, but Spencer fought valiantly against one of the sport’s growing legends.

In the world rankings, no fewer than 14 other Eye of the Tiger fighters made their mark across eight different weight classes. The latest addition to the EOTTM stable, Lenar Perez (15-0, 14 KOs), already sits at No. 3 in the WBA cruiserweight rankings, while also ranking No. 12 with the IBF and No. 18 with the WBC. Still in the top five, Canadian Olympian and NABF super lightweight champion Arthur Biyarslanov (20-0, 16 KOs) is currently ranked No. 4 by both the WBC and IBF. At lightweight, WBC Continental and IBF Intercontinental champion Dzmitry Asanau (11-0, 5 KOs) also holds the No. 4 WBC ranking and No. 12 with the IBF.

Inside the top 10, Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs) enjoyed a triumphant return by dominating Britain’s David Allen on his home turf in England, capturing the WBA Intercontinental Heavyweight Title and climbing to No. 6 in the WBA world rankings. Imam Khataev (11-1, 10 KOs) also found success on the road. Fighting on a Ring Magazine–promoted card in New York, he became the first fighter to knock down David Morrell Jr. Although the judges awarded a highly controversial split decision in favor of the Cuban, Khataev left a strong impression. He left no doubt in his return bout, stopping former world title challenger Adam Deines in the third round in December in Gatineau. The Olympic medalist closed out the year ranked No. 6 and No. 7 by the WBC and WBA, respectively, at 175 pounds.

A third light heavyweight also stood out within EOTTM. Marc Ramsay protégé Mehmet Unal (14-0, 12 KOs) enjoyed a breakout year. He first stopped Olympian Ezequiel Maderna in three rounds, then demolished Polish and Latvian contenders Jan Czerklewicz and Ralfs Vilcans in first-round knockouts. In the latter two bouts, Unal captured and defended the WBC Continental Light Heavyweight Title, placing him at No. 9 in the world rankings.

Marc Ramsay’s youngest protégé, Jhon Orobio (16-0, 14 KOs), also broke into the world rankings. Currently ranked No. 15 by the WBC, the WBC Continental super lightweight champion and Ring Magazine ambassador earned four victories in 2025, including a second-round stoppage of former world champion Xolisani Ndongeni. At just 22 years old, Orobio clearly has a bright future ahead, as does Quebec sensation Wilkens Mathieu (15-0, 10 KOs). The pride of Quebec City — also a Ring Magazine ambassador — experienced a true breakout in the fall. On October 30, he completely dominated and dropped veteran Quebec fighter Shakeel Phinn to capture the NABF and WBC Continental super middleweight titles. The WBC currently ranks him No. 17 in the world — a remarkable achievement for a 20-year-old, especially considering all other fighters in the top 35 are at least 24 years old.

Among the stable’s other ranked fighters are WBC Continental welterweight champion Christopher Guerrero (No. 18 WBC at 147 lbs), Canadian “Dragon” Steve Claggett (No. 22 WBC at 140 lbs), two-time world title challenger Steven Butler (No. 24 WBC at 168 lbs), Montreal’s Luis Santana (No. 31 WBC at 135 lbs), and EOTTM’s 2024 Prospect of the Year, Moreno Fendero (No. 36 WBC at 168 lbs).

The future looks just as promising with EOTTM’s two newest recruits. Canadian Olympic medalist Wyatt Sanford (5-0, 2 KOs) and junior amateur world champion Erik Israyelyan (4-0, 2 KOs) continued to rack up victories throughout 2025. Overall, Eye of the Tiger closed the year with a team record of 52 wins in 58 bouts, including 34 victories by knockout. These results were achieved across eight events held in Quebec, as well as through successful outings on the road in the Americas, Europe, and Africa.

MONTREAL, December 5, 2025 — Eye of the Tiger will kick off 2026 with a bang on February 5, presenting an event headlined by Albert Ramirez’s first defense of his WBA Interim Light-Heavyweight World Title at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal.

In August 2025, Albert Ramirez (22-0, 9 KOs) captured the WBA Interim Light-Heavyweight crown by stopping the No. 9-ranked contender Jerome Pampellone in the 7th round of a DAZN-broadcast fight held in Benghazi, Libya. This victory capped off a spectacular year for the Rio Olympian, who had also stopped Asian champion Michael Flannery and Croatian contender Marko Calic in 3 and 2 rounds respectively, in Montreal. With David Benavidez moving up to the cruiserweight division (200 lb), Ramirez intends to prove he is the man to beat at 175 lb.

“We have no doubt that Albert Ramirez has everything it takes to collect several more belts. From his very first world title defense, we intend to send a clear message to the light-heavyweight division — and with the opponent we’ll be announcing shortly, I can assure you that message will be heard,” stated EOTTM president Camille Estephan.

Several other titles will also be on the line on the undercard. Two-time Olympian and WBC Continental Americas & IBF Intercontinental lightweight champion Dzmitry Asanau (11-0, 5 KOs) will defend his titles that same night. Canadian Olympian and top-10 world super-lightweight contender Arthur Biyarslanov (20-0, 16 KOs) will make the 5th defense of his NABF title. Montreal-based Rio Olympian and top-15 world light-heavyweight contender Mehmet Unal (14-0, 12 KOs) will return to defend his WBC Continental Americas belt.

To add the fifth olympian to the show, Canadian medalist Wyatt Sanford (5-0, 2 KOs) will also be in action at the Casino de Montréal . The pride of Thetford Mines, Thomas Chabot (11-1, 8 KOs), will try to get back on the winning track. And, opening the show, EOTTM prospect Erik Israyelyan (4-0, 2 KOs) will aim to start the year — and the show — with a strong performance.

Albert Ramirez remained undefeated with a one-punch, second round stoppage over Michael Flannery in a light heavyweight bout at the Casino Montreal in Montreal, Canada.

In round one, Ramirez dropped Flannery with a right hook. In round two, Ramirez landed a booming left uppercut that put Flannery on the canvas and the fight was stopped at 1:09.

Ramirez, 181.3 lbs of El Vigia, VEN is 21-0 with 18 knockouts. Flannery, 174.1 lbs of Bangkok, THA 13-1.

Mehmet Unal stopped Jan Czerklewicz in round one of their 10-round light heavyweight bout.

In round one, Unal hurt Czerklewicz with a left hook and dropped him with an overhand right. Later in the round Unal sent Czerklewicz down with a right. Unal finished off the fight with a left to the body that was followed up to a right to head for a third knockdown and the fight was stopped at 2:56.

Mehmet Unal, 174.6 lbs of Montreal is 13-0 with 11 knockouts. Czerklewicz, 174.2 lbs of Warsaw, POL is 14-3.

Good looking contender Arthur Biyarslanov stopped Antonio Collado in round three of their 10-round junior welterweight bout.

In round one, Biyarslanov dropped Collado with a flurry of punches in the middle of the ring. Seconds later, Biyarslanov sent Collado down again after landed a crushing right hook to the body, Biyarslabov landed two more punches that sent Collado kneeling to the canvas. In the opening seconds of round two, Biyarslanov put Collado down again with a body shot. Later in the round, Biyarslanov was cut around the right eye. In round three, it was a sright to the head that put Collado down. Collado got to his feet at the count of nine, but the fight was stopped at 38 seconds.

Biyarslanov, 139.5 lbs of Toronto is 19-0 with 16 knockouts. Collado, 139.8 lbs of Spain is 19-2.

Moreno Fendero stopped Kristaps Blumeistras in round one of their eight-round light heavyweight bout.

In round one, Fendero was all over Blumeistars and then landed a perfect counter right that sent Blumeistars to the canvas. He got to this feet, but was in no condition to continue and the fight was stopped at 2:46.

Fendero, 172 lbs of Montreal is 11-0 with nine knockouts. Blumeistars of Rigo, LAT is 13-4.

Wyatt Sanford stopped Thomas Lastra in the opening round of their four-round super lightweight bout.

In round one, Sanford dropped Lastra with a barrage of body shots. Sanford followed up with a rapid fire flurry that forced a referee stoppage at 2:59.

(June 3, 2025) — Venezuelan knockout artist Albert Ramirez will take on British contender Michael Flannery in a 10-round main event at a 182-pound catchweight this Thursday, June 5, at Casino de Montréal in Montreal, Canada.

Promoted by Eye of the Tiger, Ramirez-Flannery and undercard bouts will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+ starting at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

Ramirez (20-0, 17 KOs) represented Venezuela at the 2016 Olympics and turned pro in 2018, notching 10 straight stoppages before going the distance for the first time against durable Argentine Facundo Nicolas Galovar in March 2022. Since then, only two of his opponents have heard the final bell. In February, he kicked off his 2025 campaign with a third-round TKO over once-beaten Marko Calic. Flannery (13-0, 11 KOs) is a 28-year-old puncher who was born in the United Kingdom and lives in Thailand, where most of his pro wins have ended via knockout. He last fought in January in Thailand, snatching the WBC Asian light heavyweight belt with a third-round stoppage over Rattawut Thongaram.

In round two, Biyarslanov scored a knockdown after a flurry of shots to the head. Biyarslanov continued the onslaught and the fight was stopped at 2:16.

Mehmet Unal stopped Ezequiel Maderna in round three of their 10-round light heavyweight bout.

In round two, Unal landed a right hand that made Maderna hit the canvas which was ruled a knockdown. In round three, Unal landed a big flurry that was finished by a an overhand right that put Maderna down and the fight was stopped at 1:41.

Christopher Guerrero stopped Dennis Dauti in round four of their eight-round welterweight bout.

In round four, Guerrero dropped Dauti with a perfect left hook to the body. The fight continued and the two tied up and Dauti went down. Although ruled a slip, Dauti was still in pain, and the fight was stopped at 1:08.

Moreno Fendero stopped Edison Demaj in round three of their eight-round super middleweight bout.

In round one, Fendero landed a left to the top of the head sent Demaj to the canvas. in round three, Fendero dropped Demaj with a straight left. In the same round, Demaj began to bleed from the bridge of his nose. Later in the frame, Fendero dropped Demaj with a big right and the bout was stopped up when Demaj got to his feet at 1:36.

Avery Martin Duval won a eight-round unanimous decision over Keshad Kowai in a lightweight bout.

Duval, 134.2 lbs of Montreal won by scores of 78-73 twice and 77-74 and is now 13-0-1. Kowai, 133.8 lbs of Nixe, FRA is 6-2-1.

Venezuelan Albert Ramirez will make a new defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) international light heavyweight belt on February 6 when he steps into the ring of the Casino de Montreal, Canada, to face Croatian Marko Calic. 

It will be the second defense for the 32-year-old Venezuelan southpaw, who had a good career in the amateur arena and has been a professional since 2018. 

He won the regional belt of the pioneer organization in January last year when he beat Artur Ziyatdinov by unanimous decision in Quebec, Canada, and made his first defense in his native country against veteran Adam Deines, whom he defeated by knockout in seven rounds last August 23. 

Calic appears to be a good opponent, who has faced quality fighters and whose only loss was to Badou Jack in 2020. The 37-year-old fighter comes in with four wins in a row, the three most recent by knockout, and knows he is facing a great opportunity at this point in his career. 

Ramirez has a record of 19 wins, no losses and 16 knockouts, while Calic has 15 wins, 1 loss and 9 knockouts.

Highly ranked super middleweight Erik Bazinyan stopped Billi Godoy in round three of their 10-round bout at Montreal Casino in Montreal, Canada.

In round three, Bazinyan dropped Godoy with a chopping right hand and the fight was stopped at 2:24.

Albert Ramirez won a 10-round unanimous decision over Artur Ziyatdinov in a light heavyweight bout.
