Rodriguez Stops Robledo in 3 in Philadelphia

Jonathan Rodriguez stopped Nestor Robledo in round three of their scheduled six-round super bantamweight bout at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

Rodriguez dropped Robledo in round one with a hard left hook. Rodriguez dominated the action was stopped in round three.

Rodriguez of Bethlehem, PA is 12-1-1 with four knockouts. Robledo is 9-14-2.

James Bernadin remained undefeated by stopping William Parra Smith in round two of their six-round junior welterweight bout.

Bernadin landed an overhand right that opened up a cut over the left eye of Smith and the bout was stopped.

Bernadin of Lancaster, PA is now 9-0-1 with six knockouts. Smith of Anchorage, AK is 4-13-1.

Rasheed Johnson won a six-round unanimous decision over Antonio Wattell in a welterweight bout.

Johnson of Philadelphia won by 60-54 scores on all cards and is now 9-4. Wattell of Houston, TX is 3-12

Julian Gonzalez stopped Eric Manriquez in round two of their four-round junior lightweight bout.

Gonzalez dropped Manriquez twice in the opening frame. Gonzalez ended things with a perfect right that dropped Manriquez and the fight was halted 12 seconds into round two.

Gonzalez of Reading, PA is 8-0-1 with eight knockouts. Manriquez of Houston, TX is 7-15-1.

Alexis Mones and Devany Torres fought to a four-round split draw in a super flyweight bout.

Scores were 39-37 for Mones. Torres took a card 40-36 and a third card was 38-38.

Mones of Fort Worth, TX was making his pro debut. Torres of San Antonio, TX is 2-2-1.




Wheeler Stops Adams in 1 in Bethlehem

Khainell Wheeler needed just 82 seconds to stop Ryan Adams in a scheduled eight-round super middleweight fight in front of a large crowd at The Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem, PA.

Seconds into the bout, Wheeler dropped Adams with a power jab. Adams never fully gained hos balance , as he was wobbled by two more punches, and the fight was stopped at 1:22.

Wheeler, 167.3 lbs of Bethlehem is 7-1 with six knockouts. Adams, 165.6 lbs of Saint Louis, MO is 8-5-1.

Kenny Robles pounded out an eight-round unanimous decision over Naim Nelson in a junior welterweight bout.

Robles, 141 lbs of Staten Island, NY won by scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 78-74 and is now 9-1. Nelson, 139.9 lbs of Philadelphia is 14-6.

Jonathan Rodriguez won a six-round unanimous decision over Jose Flores Chavez in A bantamweight fight.

In round six, Chavez was deducted a point for holding. Rodriguez dominated the action and won by scores of 60-53 on all cards.

Rodriguez, 119.6 lbs of Bethlehem is now 10-1. Chavez, 118 lbs of Baja, MEX is 9-14.

James Beradin stopped Kevin Asmat in the 6th and final round of their lightweight fight.

It was a tough scrap that was set up the day before when Benadine shoved Asmat at the weigh in. Bennadine got the better of the action, but Asmat had moments. In round six, Benadine landed several hard shots that forced a referee stoppage at 2:52.

Bernadine, 135.7 lbs of Lancaster, PA is 6-0 with four knockouts. Asmat, 135.1 lbs of North Bergen, NJ is 6-3.

Julian Gonzalez remained perfect as he stopped Carlos Padilla at the end of round two of their six-round lightweight contest. Gonzalez beat down Padilla and the bout was stopped

Gonzalez, 134.1 lbs of Reading, PA is 6-0 with six knockouts. Padilla, 138.9 lbs of Barranquilla, COL is 17-11-1.

LeAnna Cruz remained undefeated with a four-round unanimous decision over Anyela Lopez in a bantamweight fight.

Cruz, 113.7 lbs of Allentown, PA won by scores of 40-36 and 39-37 twice to go to 2-0. Lopez, 115.3 lbs of Tucson, AZ is 2-2.

Quadir Albright remained perfect with a 3rd round stoppage Antonio Wattell in a scheduled six-round junior welterweight bout.

In round one, Albright landed a huge right that knocked Wattell down and out of the ring. Wattell was about to beat the 20 count of referee Shawn Clark. Wattell fought back in round three, Albright dropped Wattell with a hard combination to the head. Albright finished off the fight with a vicious body combination that forced a referee stoppage at 2:57.

Albright, 141.6 lbs of Philadelphia is 5-0 with five knockouts. Wattell, 140.6 lbs of Houston, TX is 3-6-2.

In an exciting battle of pro debuting welterweights, Thanjhae Teasley stopped Daniel Jiles in round two of their four-round fight.

Jiles used his length early, but Teasley was able to make the adjustments and get inside and batter Jiles until the bout was stopped at 2:29.

Teasley, 147.4 lbs of Bethlehem, PA is 1-0 with one knockout. Jiles, 147.5 lbs of Philadelphia is 0-1.




JOSE MARRUFO UPSETS ANGEL ‘MORENO’ RODRIGUEZ TO CAPTURE WBC USNBC SILVER SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE IN MAIN EVENT OF MARVNATION CARD

POMONA, CALIF. (Jan. 30, 2022): MarvNation Promotions kicked off its first event of the year in dramatic fashion last night as Jose Marrufo (13-10-2, 5 KOs) of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico scored an upset unanimous decision win against Angel “Moreno” Rodriguez (10-1, 7 KOs) of Pico Rivera, Calif. to capture the WBC USNBC Silver Super Lightweight Championship. The bout headlined a full night of action at the Derby Room in Pomona, California and was streamed live on MarvNation’s official YouTube channel.

Both fighters provided exciting toe-to-toe action for eight grueling rounds. Ultimately, however, Marrufo’s experience gave him a distinct advantage in the exchanges, which eventually earned him the decision victory. Marrufo won with two scores of 80-72, while one judge scored the fight 79-73.

“My opponent was a warrior,” said Marrufo. “He has a big crowd and a lot of support. That motivated me more in the fight. I’ll defend this title against any big name. This win is a dream come true for me.”

In the co-main event, Alejandro Reyes (6-0, 4 KOs) of Mexicali, Baja California Mexico, defeated Antonio Wattell (3-8-3, 1 KOs) of Houston, Texas via six-round unanimous decision in a super lightweight fight. Reyes won with scores of 59-55, 59-55 and 60-54. Reyes, who hails from the renowned Westside Boxing Club in Los Angeles, delivered a boxing lesson that featured come-forward offense for five rounds before culminating with a sixth round in which he boxed intelligently from the outside. Reyes also brought an enormous crowd who cheered him on from beginning to end.

Alfredo Hernandez (7-0, 4 KOs) of Downey, Calif. scored a unanimous decision win against Nicaraguan slugger Osmel Mayorga (2-4, 1 KO) in a four-round super welterweight clash. Hernandez won with three scores of 40-36.

Rising Mexican prospect Andy Dominguez (5-0, 3 KOs) scored a stunning knockout win against fellow countryman Jose Rodriguez (1-2, 1 KO) in a scheduled six-round super flyweight fight. Dominguez ended matters at 2:27 of the very first round.

Kyle Erwin (4-0, 2 KOs) of Oceanside, Calif. beat Jaylan Phillips (2-9) of Atlanta, Georgia via split decision in a four-round super lightweight fight. Erwin won with two scores of 38-37, while one judge scored it 38-37 in favor of Phillips.

Sergio Jimenez (5-0, 4 KOs) of Baldwin Park, Calif. defeated Ray Santiago (2-9) of Albany, New York via knockout in the third round of a four-round cruiserweight fight.

Jaivion Cardinal (5-0, 4 KOs) of Long Beach, Calif. stopped Tyler Jacques (0-2-1) of Orlando, Florida in the second round of a super middleweight fight originally scheduled for four. Cardinal won with a time of 1:46 of the aforementioned round.

Jesus Torres Beltran (5-1, 3 KOs) of Los Angeles, California beat Ryan Venable (2-10) of Roanoke, Virginia via unanimous decision in a four-round lightweight fight. Beltran won with two scores of 40-36 and one score of 39-37.

Carlos Rodriguez (2-0, 2 KOs) of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico defeated Jerell Nettles (1-2) of Denver Colorado via KO in a four-round cruiserweight fight. Rodriguez won with a time of 1:21 of the first round.

Prograis decisions Flanagan; Defends Jr. Welterweight title; advances in WSBB


Regis Prograis won a 12-round unanimous decision over former lightweight champion Terry Flanagan to defend the WBC Interim Syoer Lightweight championship and advance to the semifinals of the World Boxing Super series junior welterweight tournament at the UNO Lakefront Arena in Prograis hometown of New Orleans

In round eight, Prograis dropped Flanagan with a straight left. later in the a round, a cut was opened up outside of Flanagan’s left eye.

Prograis, 139.8 lbs of New Orleans won by scores of 119-108, 118-109 and 117-110 to remain perfect at 23-0. Flanagan, 139.3 lbs of Manchester, UK is 33-2.

Ivan Baranchyk won the IBF Junior Welterweight title and advanced to the semifinals of the World Boxing Super Series with a 7th round stoppage over Anthony Yigit.

In round two, Yigit began to form a mouse around his left eye from the heavy blows of Baranchyk.

By round six, Yigit. eye was almost closed and looking a lot worse for wear. Baranchyk continued to land hard shots on the iron-chinned Yigit and Yigit’s eye was a mess and completely shut when the bout was stopped at 3:00

Baranchyk 140 lbs of Miami, FL is 19-0 with 12 knockouts. Yigit, 139.7 lbs of Stickholm, SWE is 21-1-1.

Jonathan Guidry stopped Quincy Palmer in the first round of their scheduled six-round heavyweight bout.

Guidry landed a hard power combination that was ounctuated by a straight right that put Palmer down, and the bout was stopped.

Guidry is 12-0-2 with six knockouts. Palmer is 10-10.

Jonathan Montrel won a four-round unanimous decision over Antonio Wattell in a lightweight bout.

Montrel won by scores of 40-36 twice, and 39-37 and is now 2-0.  Wattell is 1-5-1.

Subriel Matias remained undefeated by winning via 1st round disqualification over Fernando Saucedo.

In round one, Matias dropped Saucedo twice.  On the second knockdown, Matias was docked a point while hitting Saucedo while he was down.  During the round, the corner of Saucedo stepped on the ring apron, and the fight was waved off.

Matias is now 12-0.  Saucedo is 62-9-3.

Jeremy Hill won a four-round unanimous decision over Brandon Arvie in a lightweight bout.

Hill scored knockdowns in rounds one, two and four and went on to win by scores of 40-33 on all cards.

Hill is now 5-0.  Arvie is 3-2.

Illyan Kolev made a successful pro debut with a four-round unanimous decision over Antonio Louis Hernandez in a super welterweight bout.

Scores were 40-35 and 39-36 for Kolev who is now 1-0.  Hernandez is 1-5.
