Masoud Wins Split Decision over Sanmartin

Shabaz Masoud took a 10-round split decision over Jose Sanmartin in a super bantamweight in Newcastle, England.

Masoud, 121,7 lbs of Stoke, England won by scores of 98-92 and 96-

Cameron Vuong won a six-round unanimous decision over John Henry Mosqueura in lightweight bout.

Vuong, 137.55 lbs of Blyth, ENG won by scores of 60-54 on all cards and is now 2-0. Mosquera, 139.5 lbs of Tottenham, ENG is 5-5.

Jeff Ofori stopped previously undefeated Callum French in the eighth and final round of their lightweight bout.

In round three, French was bleeding around the left eye.

In round eight, the corner of French threw in the towel at 32 seconds.

Ofori, 138 lbs of Tottenheim, ENG is 13-5-2 with four stoppages. French, 137.75 lbs of Gateshead, ENG is 4-1.

Mark Dickinson stopped Grant Dennis in round five of their 10-round middleweight bout.

In round five Dickinson dropped Dennis with a flurry of punches and the bout was stopped at 1:10.

Dickinson, 159.3 lbs of West Rainton, ENG is 6-0 with two knockouts. Dennis, 163.4 lbs of Chartham ENG is 18-6.

Ishmael Davis stopped Ewan Mackenzie in round eight of their 10-round super welterweight bout.

In round eight, Davis battered a bloody Mackenzie until the corner threw in the towel at 2:44.

Davism 153.65 lbs of Leeds, ENG is 12-0 with six knockouts. Mackenzie, 153.4 lbs of Jarrow ENG is 8-1.

Ben Rees got off the deck to stop Sadaam Moamed De Silva Caetano in round five of their six-round light heavyweight bout.

In round two, Caetano dropped Rees with a short right hand.

In round five, Rees hurt Catetano with a right and a follow-up flurry forced a referee stoppage

Rees, 184.45 lbs of Ashington, SA is 2-0-1 with two knockouts. Caetano, 183.4 lbs of Bruggs, BEL is 7-4.

Jimmy Sains stopped Jesus Lobeto in round two of their four-round middleweight contest

Sains landed a series of punches of on the ropes and the fight was stopped at 1:07.

Sains, 162.45 lbs of Brentwood, ENG is 2-0 with two knockouts. Loberto, 165.75 lbs of Principado de Asturias, SPA is 1-3-1.

Owen Rees stopped Konrad Czajkowski in round five of their six-round super lightweight fight.

Rees dominated the action and ended the fight after landing a couple of big right hands at 2:25.

Rees, 141.55 lbs of Birtlye, ENG is 2-0 with two knockouts. Czajlowski, 141.5 lbs of Skladowice, POL is 2-2-1.




NORTH-EAST TRIO HEADLINE PACKED CARD AS PROBELLUM HEADS TO NEWCASTLE

London – 28 January 2022 – Global boxing promotion Probellum will host its first UK show of 2022 in Newcastle in March, jointly headlined by local fighters Lewis Ritson, Troy Williamson and Thomas Patrick Ward, with the hugely talented duo Pat McCormack and Ben Rees set to make their professional debuts.
 
Taking place at the Utilita Arena, on Friday March 25, Probellum returns to the north-east following its sell out inaugural UK show in Sunderland in December.
 
The upcoming event features some of British boxing’s biggest and brightest talents, with tickets available to purchase via Ticketmaster from today (Friday January 28).
 
Newcastle-born Ritson (22-2, 13 knockouts) will be back in action after defeating Christian Uruzquieta with a brilliant performance in December. This time around he faces Dejan Zlaticanin (24-3, 16 knockouts), an experienced Serbian fighter.
 
Having signed to Probellum last month, Williamson (17-0-1, 13 knockouts), from Darlington, aims to maintain his unbeaten record in what will be the first defence of his British super-welterweight title, which he secured courtesy of an eye-catching knockout victory over British fighter Ted Cheeseman in October 2021.
 
The undefeated Ward (31-0-1, 4 knockouts), from County Durham, produced a dominant display against Venezuelan Leonardo Padilla in his most recent contest to move one step closer to a deserved world title shot.
 
The event will also see McCormack and Rees, both local fighters who recently signed to Probellum, make their hotly anticipated professional debuts following brilliant careers at amateur level, with McCormack winning a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Rees a five-time national champion.
 
Fellow Probellum fighter and rising star Dickinson (2-0, 1 knockout) will be looking to build on an impressive start to his professional career under the guidance of world-leading coach Ben Davison when he returns to the ring at the Utilita Arena.

The Birtley fighter has had a glittering amateur career, with his accolades including five national titles, and a European bronze medal.

He now joins the booming North East boxing scene, becoming the latest star from the region to sign with Probellum, following in the footsteps of fighters such as Lewis Ritson, Mark Dickinson, Pat McCormack and Luke McCormack.
