BOSTON (February 24, 2022) –- U.S. Army veteran Daniel “The Dedication” Bailey, Jr. (10-0, 5 KOs) will get his first title shot March 12th, when he takes on 18-year-old Mexican knockout artist Jonathan “Diamante Zurdo” Javier Fierro (12-0, 11 KOs) for the vacant North American Boxing Association (NABA) Featherweight Championship.

The 10-round bout will take place at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington. The winner will earn a WBA top 15 rating.

Bailey, managed by Ryan Roach’s Fighter Locker, was born in Miami and fights out of Tampa. The cousin of 2-division World champion Randall Bailey, Daniel was honorably discharged from the military after serving a 6-year stint. He was a 4-time U.S. Army champion, rated as high as No. 1 in the country as an amateur boxer. He was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs (CO), where Daniel was enrolled in the special soldier-athlete program there, World Class Athlete Program (WCAP).

“I’m super grateful for this opportunity,” the 25-year-old Bailey spoke about his NABA title shot. “I feel like all of my hard work has paid off and this will be my opportunity to show a glance of my greatness. I won’t disappoint. I’m not thinking about where this fight is going to take me. I’m just focused on getting a win.”

“This fight is very special for Team Bailey,” Roach commented. “We started building together from the ground up. To fight for a top 15 WBA world ranking in just 11 fights shows what we can do if the fighter stays ready and I do my job as a manager.

Fierro has stopped 11 of his 12 opponents as a professional, including 23-11 Victor Ruiz in the opening round of his last fight, back on November 13th in Phoenix.

“My opponent is from Mexico and he’s strong,” Bailey added, “but he signed on to fight the wrong fighter. I’m clicking! It’s a bad deal for anyone who signs on to fight me. I’m getting better every day.”

BOSTON (April 20, 2021) – Recently discharged U.S. Army specialist 4th class Daniel Bailey Jr. will be fighting in front of soldiers this Thursday night at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.

The 24-year-old Bailey (3-0, 2 KOs), fighting out of Tampa (FL), will face Luis Alvarado (1-2) in a 4-round featherweight bout on a Ring City USA card, the first live boxing in New York since before the pandemic.

All the action will be streamed live (9 pm. ET / 6 p.m. PT) on the Twitch.tv app, starting at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, as well as via the Armed Forces Network Europe and Pacific (AFNTV).

“I’ve never been to West Point,” Bailey said. “I’m excited to fight there in front of other soldiers. I’m honored. We’re all brothers and sisters in arms and I want to put on a great show for them. I’m bringing the heat!”

Born in Miami, Bailey’s cousin is Randall “The Knock-Out King” Bailey (46-9, 39 KOs), the 2-division World champion who was considered one of the hardest pound-4-pound punchers of his era (1996-2016).

Bailey was honorably discharged from the military this past March 19 after serving a 6-year stint. He was a 4-time U.S. Army champion rated as high as No. 1 in the country as an amateur boxer. He was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs (CO), where Daniel was enrolled in the special soldier-athlete program there, World Class Athlete Program (WCAP).

Bailey made his pro debut November 7, 2020, when he stopped Noe Marquez Talamantes in the second-round of their fight in Mexico. His last action was an opening-round knockout of Jahterris Lewis last month in Alabama.

During his solid amateur boxing career, Bailey benefited from sparring world champions Terence Crawford and Jamel Herring, among the more notables.

“I’ve become a much more complete fighter since I turned pro,” Bailey explained. “I have more control, like fully hydrating after a weigh in. I’m like a kid in a candy store now. I’ve made changes and sparring top guys has really helped my conditioning.

“This is the right place, right time for me,” Bailey concluded. I’m already on weight and ready to fight. It was a good time for me to get out of the army to pursue my dream.”

BOSTON (June 11, 2020) – Ryan Roach’s Fighter Locker announced today that it has inked decorated U.S. Army boxer Daniel Bailey, Jr. to an exclusive managerial contract.

Born in Miami, the 24-year-old Bailey has had more than 100 amateur matches and he is currently the No. 10 ranked bantamweight in the United States.

Bailey joined the U.S. Army in 2015 and he is currently a Specialist 4th Class stationed at Fort Carson, which is in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He qualified to be a member of the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), created to give elite Soldier-athletes to perform at the International level while also serving in the military.

WCAP members such as Bailey are allowed to train and compete throughout the year at Fort Carson, which is close to the state-of-the-art U.S. Olympic Paralympic Training Center, where they train with non-military elite athletes and coaches. Bailey has been able to train and compete with America’s top amateur boxers and spar with the likes of world champions Terence Crawford and Jamel Herring, among the most notables.

Bailey’s leading performances include 2012 Ringside World National Champion, Title Boxing Classic National Champion, and Florida state PAL Champion; 2018 & 2019 Colorado Golden Gloves Champion; and 4-time U.S. Army Champion.

“I’m ready to go,” Bailey said. “I’ve been training in a garage during this (pandemic).I want to start my legacy and can’t wait to get going. It’s time for me to transition into boxing full-time, but I also want to attend college and major in sports management. My main strength is my work ethic. “I was being pursued by some managers, but they weren’t telling me what I wanted to hear, which is family first.
