Mathieu Stops Falcao in 8

Wilkens Mathieu scored an eighth round stoppage over Esquiva Falcao in round eight of their 10-round super middleweight fight in Quebec, Canada.

In round eight, Mathieu landed a right that wobbled Falcao back to the corner. That set off a heavy four punch flurry that was culminated by a left to the jaw that put Falcao on the canvas. Falcao got to his feet, but the fight was waved off at 3:00.

Mathieu, 167.8 lbs of Quebec, CAN is 16-0 with 11 knockouts. Falcao, 167.6 lbs of Vitoria, BRA is 32-3.

Leila Beaudoin won the vacant WBA Interim Super Featherweight title with a 10-round unanimous decision over Paulina Angel

In round two, Beaudoin was cut around the right eye from an accidental headbutt.

Beaudoin, 129.7 lbs of Temiscouata, CAN won by scores of 100-90 on all cards and is now 15-2. Angel, 129 lbs of Medellin, COL is 7-3-2.

Yoann Kongolo and Mehmet Unal fought to a 10-round majority draw in a light heavyweight bout

Kingolo, 174.8 lbs of Geneva, SWI won by a 96-94 and two cards were even at 05-95 and is now 18-3-2. Unal, 174.6 lbs of Montreal is 15-0-1.

Moreno Fendero stopped Jonathan Gonzalez in round eight of their 10-round super middleweight bout.

In round six, Fendero dropped Gonzalez with a big left hand. In round eight, Montero viciously opened up with both hands and the fight was stopped at 1:02.

Fendero, 167 lbs of Montreal is 15-0 with 11 Knockouts. Gonzalez, 167 lbs of Puerto Rico is 20-2-1.

Thomas Chabot won a 10-round majority decision over Jose Antonio Sampedro in a featherweight bout.

Chabot, 125.7 lbs of Quebec won by scores of 97-93, 96-94 and 95-95 and is now 13-1. Sampedro,, 124.1 lba of Mexico is 13-3-1.

Erik Israyelyan stopped Johan Guzman in at 2:51 of the first round.

Israyelean dropped Guzman dropped Guzman twice before the fight was stopped.

Israyelyan is now 6-0 with four knockouts,

Jordan Dzaba won a four-round majority decision over Daylen Pepin.

Dazaba of Vire, FRA won by scores of 39-37 twice and 38-38.




EARLY RESULTS FROM MONTREAL

Jhon Orobio remained undefeated with a freighting fifth round stoppage of Yomar Alamo in a 10-round junior welterweight bout.

In round three, Orobio put Alamo on the canvas with a vicious left to the head that was followed by an overhand right. In round five, Orobio landed a huge overhand right to the jaw that knocked Alamo completely out and the fight was stopped at 45 seconds.

Orobio, 138.8 lbs of Montreal is 17-0 with 15 knockouts. Alamo, 139.2 lbs of Caguas, PR is 22-6-1.

Steve Claggett stopped Alejandro Frias in round two of their 10-round junior welterweight fight.

In round two, Claggett landed a left hook that put Frias on the canvas and the fight was stopped upon Froas getting to his feet at 2:13.

Claggett, 142.8 lbs of Calgary, CAN is 40-8-2 with 28 knockouts. Frias, 144.1 lbs of Tepic, MEX is 21-13-2.

Daylen Pepin won a four-round unanimous decision over Felipe Bocaz in a lightweight bout.

Pepin, 134.1 lbs of Trois-Rivieres, CAN won by scores of 40-36 and 39-37 twice and is now 2-0. Bocaz, 134.2 lbs of El bosque, CHL is 3-3.

Dante Tice stopped Patrik Velky in the fourth and final round of their junior middleweight nout.

In round four, Tice dropped Velky with a hard left to the body. Seconds later, another body shot put Velky down and the fight was stopped at 1:44.

Moreno Fendero remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Shawn McCalman in a super middleweight bout.
