Mauricio Lara stopped Jose Sanmartin in round three of their scheduled 10-round featherweight bout in Mexico City.

In round three, Lara dropped Sanmartin with a left to the body. Moments later, it was a right hand that sent Sanmartin down again, and the fight was stopped at 1:36.

Lara, 127.4 lbs of Mexico City is 25-2-1 with 18 knockouts. Sanmartin, 126.6 lbs of Barranquilla, COL is 33-6-1.

Angel Fierro stopped Jeremy Cuevas in round seven of a scheduled 10-round lightweight fight.

It was an action fight and in round two, Cuevas started to swell under his right eye.

In round seven, Fierro began to beatdown Cuevas and he battered Cuevas with about 20 unanswered shots in the middle of the ring, and the fight was stopped at 53 seconds.

Fierro, 135 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 20-1-2 with 16 knockouts. Cuevas, 137.6 lbs of Philadelphia is 14-2.

Reshat Mati remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Leonel Rodriguez in a super lightweight fight.

In round two, Rodriguez was cut on his forehead from an accidental headbutt.

Mati, 139.2 lbs of Staten Island, NY won by scores of 97-93 on all cards and is now 13-0. Rodriguez, 142 lbs of Aguascalientes, MEX is 11-3-1.

Alberto Mora remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Diego Andrade in a super featherweight1 bout.

In round two, Andrade was bleeding from the nose.

In round eight, Mora landed a left to the body that was followed by a small right hand that sent Andrade to a knee.

Mora, 130.8 lbs of Mexico City won by score of 80-71, 79-72 and 78-73 and is now 4-0. Andrade, 131.8 lbs of Durango. MEX is 14-8-2.

Castillo reportedly suffered a torn bicep during training camp.

The inaugural “WCBS 4-Man Lightweight Tournament,” presented by Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions (RJJ Boxing), will headline the June 2nd installment of RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS®. The 10-round Torres vs. Andrade’s main event will be contested for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Latino Lightweight Championship belt.

Andrade last fought this past November 10th, in which he won a 10-round decision over Jose Rodriguez Villareal. The consummate boxer, Andrade’s most notable victories to date were decisions against 29-1-2 Jorge “Pilon” Lara and 16-4-1 Alex Reyes.

The 20-year-old Torres has been the tournament favorite since it was announced. He has become a regular fighter on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS with this being his eighth appearance. A gifted all-around boxer, the lefthanded Torres is a former WBC Youth Silver Lightweight Champion, as well as a rising lightweight star.

The Torres vs. Andrade fight, if needed, will have an “overtime” round to declare a winner in the event of a draw upon the conclusion of the scheduled distance. The World Boxing Council (WBC) sanctions the tournament, and the eventual victor will not only be crowned the new WBC Latino Lightweight Champion but also receive a WBC world rating.

There are four other lightweight matches scheduled on this stacked card.

In the co-featured event, Bryan “Zam” Zamarripa (10-1, 3 KOs) takes on his unbeaten countryman, Yair Marmoleto Rojas (7-0-2, 5 KOs), in a schedule 8-round bout.

Promising 19-year-old prospect Marco Cota Moreno (6-0, 4 KOs) returns to RJJ Boxing at UFC FIGHT PASS in a 6-round match against Juna Leonel “LA Vijola” Ortega Resendez (4-2-1, 2 KOs). Moreno was a decorated amateur boxer who had a 146-4 record, highlighted by five-Sonora State championship title-winning performances.

In a 4-rounder, Pedro Peninuri Borgaro (2-0, 1 KO) faces Hector Avila Lozano (1-0, 1 KO) in the UFC FIGHT PASS opener.
