Former world champion, Brian Norman Jr. stopped Josh Wagner in round two of their 10-round welterweight bout.

In the opening minute of round two, Norman opened up a vicious combination in the corner that put Wagner on the seat of his pants. Norman continued the assault for a second knockdown. Wagner grabbed his left shoulder and was deemed unable to continue at 1:24.

Norman, 147.8 lbs of Atlanta is 29-1 with 23 knockouts. Wagner, 147.7 lbs of Orangeville, ONT, CAN is 19-3,

Kelvin Davis won a 10-round split decision over Peter Dobson in a welterweight bout.

Davis landed 109 of 301 punches. Dobson was 131 of 422.

Davis, 147.3 lbs of Norfolk, VA won two cards 99-91 and 97-93. Dobson won a card 98-92.

Davis is now 16-1. Dobson, 147.5 lbs of Bronx, NY is 17-4.

Yan Santana remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Christian Cruz in a featherweight bout.

Santana landed 153 of 482. Cruz was 148 of 553.

Santana, 125.6 lbs of La Romana, DR won by scores of a too-wide 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94 and is now 16-0. Cruz, 125.9 lbs of Comatin, MEX is 24-8-2.

Keon Davis won a six-round unanimous decision over Edwine Humaine Junior in a super welterweight bout.

Davis, 153.3 lbs of Norfolk, VA won by scores of 60-54 on all cards and is now 5-0. Humaine, 155.4 lbs of Springfield, MA is 9-3.

Dedrick Crocklem remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Eric Howard in a super featherweight bout.

Crocklem, 129.8 lbs of Tacoma, WAS won by 60-54 scores on all cards and is now 7-0. Howard, 131.2 lbs of St. Louis, MO is 7-5.




Yoelvis Gomez Speaks After Winning the WBA Continental Latin America Title

ORLANDO, FL (September 2, 2025) – Cuban-born super welterweight Yoelvis “La Joya” Gomez (9-1, 7 KOs), who is co-promoted with Boxlab Promotions and Warriors Boxing, captured his first regional title on Friday, August 22, with a hard-earned majority decision victory over the tough and talented Edwine Humaine (9-2, 7 KOs). The 10-round battle took place at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida, and was featured on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 14 card. The fight was streamed live on DAZN, further elevating Gomez’s growing profile in the 154-pound division.

From the opening bell, the action never slowed down. Both fighters exchanged heavy leather and had strong moments throughout the fight. But it was Gomez’s superior conditioning and relentless pressure in the later rounds that earned him the edge on two of the three scorecards, with judges scoring it 96-94, 97-93, and 95-95, awarding Gomez the majority decision and the WBA Continental Latin America title.

The win represented a significant point in Gomez’s career, and at age 27, Gomez acknowledged its importance. “It was a war in there, and I respect Humaine for pushing me like that,” said Gomez after the fight. “But when the last bell rang, I knew I had done enough. I bit down, I pushed harder in those final rounds, and that’s what got me the win. Winning this title felt amazing—it’s my first step toward a world championship. This win puts me on the map. It opens doors and shows people I’m ready to go to that next level.”

Still, despite the win, Gomez made it clear he’s not getting comfortable. “I’m going straight back to the gym. There’s a lot I can improve, and I want to be better every time I step into that ring,” he added. “My goal is clear—I want to climb the rankings and get my shot at a world title. Jan Paul Rivera stops Daniel Bailey in 6

Jan Paul Rivera remained undefeated with sixth round stoppage over Daniel Bailey in a featherweight bout at the Caribe Royale in Orlando

In round one, Rivera dropped Bailey with a left hook. Rivera dominated and in round six, Bailey landed an onslaught of punches in cluding a right that put Bailey on the canvas. Finally the bout was stopped at 2:58.

Rivera, 127.2 lbs of Salinas, PR is 13-0 with seven knockouts. Bailey, 126.4 lbs of Miami is 15-3.

Marksman Stops Martinez in 7

Corey Marksman stopped Luis Martinez in round seven of their eight-round lightweight out.

Marksman dominated from the outset and in round eight wobbled Martinez in two occasions. In round seven, Marksman landed two hard rights to the head and the fight was stopped at 19 seconds.

Marksman, 134.2 lbs of Orlando is 12-0-1 with nine knockouts. Martinez, 134.8 lbs of Isabela, PR is 9-2.

Jahmal Harvey Wins Pro Debut By Stoppage After 1

2024 U.S. Olympian Jahmal Harvey made a successful pro debut by stopping Marcelo Del Aguila after round of their six-round super featherweight bout.

Harvey dominated the opening round and Del Aguila did not come out for the second round.

Harvey, 129.6 lbs of Oxon Hill, NJ is 1-0 with one knockout. Del Aguila, 130 lbs of Lima, PER is 5-2.

Sebastian Juarez stopped Louis Hernandez in round four of their six-round super welterweight bout.

Rivera, the 24-year-old featherweight prospect from Salinas, Puerto Rico, was a decorated member of the Puerto Rican national boxing team as an amateur, competing in over 200 bouts. His amateur accolades include winning two straight Puerto Rico Elite National Championships in 2020 and 2021, as well as the Puerto Rico Youth National Championships in 2018 and 2019. He also earned a silver medal at the AIBA Youth World Championships in Budapest, Hungary in 2018. Across his 10-fight professional career to date, Rivera has competed across the USA, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Colombia, furthering his aspirations to become a global star in the sport. Also on the preliminary card, IBF #1 contender and MVP’s Nigerian featherweight signee Elizabeth Oshoba (9-0, 5 KOs) will make her promotional debut over 8 rounds at 126lbs vs. Melissa Oddessa Parker (6-3-1, 2 KOs). Oshoba, the undefeated 26-year-old, grew up in a challenging neighborhood in Lagos, inspired by her older brother in the Nigerian Army to become tough and succeed despite all odds. She began boxing at age 13, quickly distinguishing herself with a relentless work ethic and powerful punches, the start of a decorated amateur career with over 70 fights, including becoming a 6x Nigerian national amateur champion, a bronze medal at the 2019 All African Games, a gold at the 2020 African Zone 3 Championships, and winning silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Oshoba relocated to the UK to make her pro debut in September 2022 and has maintained an unblemished record since. In November 2023, she clinched the IBO female super featherweight title, defeating Martina Reighi via unanimous decision. In January 2024, Oshaba made history with a dominant performance against Italy’s Michela Braga, winning by 10th round knockout to become Nigeria’s first female world title holder and the WBC Silver featherweight champion. She has continued to build her undefeated record, most recently defeating Agustina Rojas in June 2024 and Lenka Volejnikova in March 2025. Outside the ring, Oshoba balances academic commitments with her deep commitment to mentoring young female boxers in Nigeria, providing support and guidance to aspiring athletes and aiming to inspire and cultivate the next generation of champions. She is managed by Lee Eaton. Her opponent, Melissa Odessa Parker, comes to the ring from Springs, Texas looking to halt Oshoba’s rise. Parker most recently contested for the North American Boxing Federation featherweight title against Hannah Noelle Rapp, fighting to a split decision draw in March 2025.
