Berlanga Stops Butler in 7
NEW YORK–Edgar Berlanga stopped Steven Butler in round seven of their 10-round super middleweight bout at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden to headline Zuffa Boxing 09.
In round two Butler landed a left hook on the ropes that was combined with having feet tangled put Berlanga on the canvas for a knockdown. In round three, Berlanga wobbled Butler on several occasions as he landed hard right hands that had Butler stumbling all over the ring. Butler did well to hold and dodge punches to make it out of the round.
In round six, Berlanga staggered Butler with two left hooks that was followedby a chopping right that put Butler on the canvas. In round seven, Berlanga landed two piston right hands that forcved referee Eric Dali to jump in and stop the bout.
Hitchins Decisions Salas
Richardson Hitchins won a 10-round unanimous decision over Ricardo Salas in a welterweight.
Hitchins, 146.8 lbs of Brooklyn won by scores of 100-90 on all cards and is now 21-0. Salas, 146 lbs of Mexico City is 24-3.
Hackett Decisions Derevyanchenko
Jalil Hackett won a 10-round unanimous decision over former world title challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko in a middleweight bout.
At the end of round two, Derevyanchenko was cut around the right eye.
Hackkett, 157.6 lbs of Washington, DC won by scores of 98-92, 87-93 and 96-94 and is now 13-1. Derevyanchenko, 159.8 lbs of Ukraine is now 16-7.
Vladyslav Sirenko landed a devastating 10th reound of Otto Wallin in a heavyweight bout
n round six, Sirenko had a mouse under his left eye. In round 10, Sirenko landed a devastating left hook that put Wallin down and out cold at 2:59.
Sirenko, 245.8 lbs of Kiev, UKR is now 23-1 with 20 knockouts. Wallin, 247 lbs of Sweden is 28-4.
Emiliano Moreno won an eight-round unanimous decision over Arnold Gonzalez in a welterweight bout.
Moreno, 146.6 lbs of Long Beach, CA won by scores of 79-73 and 78-74 twice and is now 13-1. Gonzalez, 146.2 lbs of Harlem, NY is 18-2.
Kashaun Davis won a eight-round unanimous decision over Mihai Nistor in a heavyweight bout.
Nistor was cut around his right eye in round three from an accidental headbutt and later was deducted a point for pushing off.
Davis, 306.2 lbs of Pearl, MS won by scores of 80-71 twice and 79-72 and is now 12-0. Niostor, 233 lbs of Romania s 8-1.
In a battle of undefeated featherweights, Troy Nash won a eight-round majority decision over Ethan Perez.
Nash, 126.6 lbs of Colorado Springs, CO won by scores of 79-73 twice and 76-76 and is now 8-0-1. Perez, 126 lbs of San Antonio is 8-1-1.
NEW YORK–Andres Sosa won a eight-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Dominique Francis in a super featherweight fight.
