Roman Gonzalez pounded his way to a 12-round unanimous decision over flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez in a super flyweight bout at The Pechanga Arena in San Diego.

Gonzalez dominated the fight as continuously backed up Martinez with straight forward power punching, Martinez was game throughout as he would sneak u a flurry, but it was Gonzalez who was so accurate with his combinations that defied his age of 34, which is considered old for the lighter weight classes. After round seven, the winner was inevitable as Gonzalez snapped the head and drove Martinez into the ropes almost constantly. Martinez fought until the end, but it was much too little, much too late as Gonzalez won by scores of 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112.

Gonzalez landed 374 of 1076 punches; Martinez was 182 of 713.

Gonzalez, 114.8 lbs of Managua, NIC is now 51-3. Martinez, who came in over the contracted weight, checked in at 116.4 lbs is now 18-2.

Lara stops Sanchez in Three Exciting Rounds

In a wild slugfest. Mauricio Lara stopped Emilio Sanchez in round three of their 10-round featherweight bout.

In round one, Lara dropped Sanchez with a hard right. In round three, Sanchez came roaring back as he landed barrages of power punches that tired Lara out. Lara came roaring back by landing vicious shots that continuously snapped the head of Sanchez back. Lara landed two more booming shots that knocked Sanchez to the ground just before the bell, and the fight was over at 2:59.

Lara, 126 lbs of Mexico City is now 24-2-1 with 17 knockouts. Sanchez, 126 lbs of Pacoima, CA is 19-2.

Fierro and Burgos Battle to a Draw

Angel Fierro and Juan Carlos Burgos battled to a 10-round draw in lightweight contest.

Fierro took a scorecard 96-94; while two other tallies were 95-95.

Fierro landed 144 of 579 punches. Burgos was 113 of 476.

Fierro, 134.6 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is now 19-1-2. Burgos, 134.2 lbs of Tijuana, MEX is 34-6-3.

Cissokoho Decisions Valenzuela

Souleymayne Cissokho remained undefeated with a 10-round unanimous decision over Roberto Valenzuela Jr. in a super welterweight bout.

In round two, Valenzuela began to swell under his left eye. In round three, Valenzuela was cut on the nose. In round four, Valenzuela turned the tide and landed a hard combination to the body and sent Cissokho to the canvas. In the final minute of the round, Cissokho uncorked a huge right that put Valenzuela on his back. Valenzuela got to his feet and was bleeding all over his face.

Cissokho landed 132 of 479 punches; Valenzuela was 92 of 474.

Cissokho, 153.8 lbs of Saint-Denis, FRA won by scores of 100-90 and 99-91 twice to raise his record to 15-0. Valenzuela, 154 lbs of Sonora, MEX is 19-3,

Diego Pacheco remained undefeated with a 2nd round stoppage over Genc Pllana in a scheduled eight-round super middleweight bout.

In round one, Pacheco dropped Pllana with a right hand. In round two, a left hook/right hand combination put Pllana on the deck and the fight was stopped at 1:29.

Pacheco, 170 lbs of Los Angeles is 14-0 with 11 knockouts. Pllana, 171 lbs of Hagerstown, MD is 9-4-1.

Marc Castro hit the canvas, but remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision over Julio Madera in a lightweight fight.

In round two Castro hit the deck from a combination. Castro won the rest of the fight and won by scores of 58-55 on all cards.

2021 Australian Olympian Skye Nicholson made a successful pro debut with a six-round unanimous decision over Jessica Juarez in a junior lightweight bout.

Nicholson, 129 lbs of Queensland, AUS won by scores of 60-54 twice and 59-55 and is now 1-0. Juarez, 129 lbs of San Diego is 3-1.

Anthony Herrera stopped Jose Toribio in round four of a scheduled four-round bantamweight bout.

In round one, Toribio began to bleed over his right. In round four, Castro landed a hard combination that was culminated by a left hook that dropped Toribio and the fight was stopped at the 24 second mark.

Herrera, 118.4 lbs of Los Angeles is 2-0 with two knockouts. Toribio, 118.2 lbs of San Diego, CA is 7-5.

PHILADELPHIA–Genc Pllana stopped hometown favorite Brandon Robinson in the eighth and final round of their super middleweight clash that headlined the evening session of a King’s Promotions day-night doubleheader at the 2300 Arena

It was a spirited bout throughout the contest that saw Pllana forge ahead on the strength of a jab that he followed up by flurries of scoring blows that weren’t impactful, but more of controlling shots. Robinson created some offense of his own against the awkward Pllana. In the later rounds, it seemed that Pllna was wearing Robinson, and in round eight he cracked Robinson with a hard right hand in the corner that put Robinson down, and the fight was stopped at 33 seconds.

Pllana of Hagerstown, MD is 9-3-1 with five knockouts. Robinson of Philadelphia is 15-3.

In a battle of undefeated lightweights,, James Bernadin took a six-round unanimous decision over Osvaldo Morales.

Bernadin of Lancaster, PA won by scores of 60-54, 59-55 and 58-56 and is now 4-0-1. Morales of Harrisburg is 4-1.

Fan-favorite Elijah Morales won a four-round unanimous decision over Andres Abarco in a welterweight fight.

Jonathan Rodriguez won a four-round unanimous decision over Sebastian Baltazar in a bantamweight contest.

Khainell Wheeler stopped Vincent Baccus in round one of their scheduled six-round super middleweight clash.

In round one. Wheeler dropped Baccus with an uppercut. Seconds later it was a counter right that hurt Baccus and backed him into the ropes that was followed up by a right that sent Baccus down and the fight was stopped at 2:46.

Roudly Lolo stopped debuting Eric Monroe in the opening round of their scheduled four-round middleweight fight.

The came out and set a furious pace as they landed some hard shots until one blasted off of the head of Monroe that sent the first-time to the canvas. Lolo landed a flurry of punches that sent Monroe plummeting down, and the fight was stopped at 1:43.

Philadephia, PA (November 19, 2020)–Following the cancellation of his bout against undefeated Khainell Wheeler that was scheduled for this Saturday, super middleweight Genc Pllana is available and ready to fight anybody, and is targeting undefeated knockout artist Edgar Berlanga.

Pllana (8-2-1, 4 KOs) would like to be Berlanga’s dance partner for a perspective bout on December 12th, and the Hagerstown, Maryland native feels that Berlanga’s perfect 1st round knockout streak is more a product of a (lack) of strength in schedule then anything else.

“He is 15-0 with 15 knockouts in the the 1st round., He should have no issue fighting me. Nestor Bravo won a 10-round unanimous decision over Jose Luis Gallegos in a super lightweight bout at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

In round nine, Bravo was deducted a point for low blows. In round 10, Bravo was deducted a point for holding.

Bravo outlanded Gallegos 165-137.

Bravo, 136 lbs of Arecibo, PR won by scores of 97-91 and 96-92 twice, and is now 19-0. Gallegos, 139.2 lbs of Chicago, IL 19-9.

Pasillas stops Encarnacion in 6

Victor Pasillas stopped Ranfis Encarnacion in round six of their scheduled 10-round bout featuring undefeated featherweights.

Pasillas dominated the fight throughout and then put down Encarnacion in the 6th with a hard combination and the towel was thrown in at 2:29.

Pasillas, 125.2 lbs of Los Angeles is 16-0 with nine knockouts. Encarnacion, 125 lbs of San Cristobal, DR is 17-1.

The FS1 telecast begins at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and will see a battle of unbeaten featherweights as Ranfis Encarnación and Víctor Pasillas duel in the 10-round co-main event. Plus, undefeated Cuban Maidel Sando goes up against Genc Pllana in an eight round super middleweight bout.

The 25-year-old had an impressive early career run in his home country, including winning a regional title over Milner Marcano in 2018. He made his U.S. debut in April 2019 by stopping Jose Bustos, and followed that up with a first round knockout over Emmanuel Dominguez last November.

Born in Los Angeles and fighting out of Redwood City, California, Pasillas (15-0, 8 KOs) will make his 2020 debut after a 2019 campaign that saw him score stoppage victories over Ernesto Guerrero and Saul Banos. The 28-year-old has ended his last five fights inside of the distance, not allowing an opponent to fight past round four. The September 23 showdown will be his first that is scheduled for 10 rounds.

The 31-year-old Sando (9-0, 7 KOs) added two stoppage wins to his ledger in 2019, with victories in January and March. Born in Las Tunas, Cuba, Sando trains and fights out of Nashville, Tennessee, where he made his pro debut in December 2017. He will step up his professional competition for the first time when he faces Pllana on September 23.

Pllana (8-1-1, 4 KOs) turned pro in 2017 after just four amateur fights, and won his first five contests before a majority decision loss to Raphael Igbokwe in August 2019. Originally from Pristina, Kosovo, Pllana now fights out of Hagerstown, Maryland. He enters this fight after a career best victory over Kevin Newman in February of this year, winning a 10-round unanimous decision. Prior to defeating Newman, the 26-year-old fought unbeaten Kalvin Henderson to a majority draw.

Keith Hunter won a 10-round unanimous decision over Sanjarbek Rakhmanov in a junior welterweight rematch at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas.

In round three, Hunter dropped Rakhmanov with a body shot.

Hunter, 141 1/2 lbs of Las Vegas won by scores of 98-91 twice and 97-92 and is now 12-0. Rakhmanov, 143 lbs of Las Vegas is 12-3-1.

“I really wanted to stop him but the judges saw the effort I put in,” said Hunter. “I gave it my all and even though we didn’t close the show, I think we stole the show. I think I improved from the last fight to this fight and made more of a statement this time.

“The 140-pound division is stacked and I think I put the rest of the division on notice that I’m here. I’m not going anywhere and we’re definitely a threat.”

Richardson Hitchins won a 10-round unanimous decision over Nick DeLomba in a junior welterweight bout.

Hitchins, 141 1/4 lbs of New York, NY won by shutout scores of 100-90 on all cards and is now 11-0. DeLomba, 141 1/2 lbs of Cranston, RI is 16-3.

“I’d rate my performance an 8.5 out of 10,” said Hitchins. “I got hit with little petty shots I could’ve avoided. I thought I could get him out in the second or third round, but I knew he could take a punch.

“He’s fought a couple a big hitters at 147, they knocked him down and he came back up. I knew his game plan was to keep the pressure on me. He was a durable opponent. I wanted to show a different side of my skillset and I think I did that

Genc Pllana scored an upset 10-round majority decision over Kevin Newman II in a super middleweight.

Pllana used his awkward style to thwart Newman and won by close scores of 96-94 on all cards.

Pllana, 168 lbs of Kosovo is 8-1-1. Newman, 167 3/4 lbs of Las Vegas is 11-2-1.

“I’m very happy with my performance but in the fourth round he poked me in my eye,” said the Albanian Pllana, who fights out of Hagerstown, Md., under the tutelage of former two-division world champion Simon Brown. “For the next three rounds, I was seeing three people. In the seventh round, I finally saw one man and started seeing straight again. My style caused big problems for him but if I didn’t get poked in the fourth round it would have been a stoppage.”

“I don’t have anyone to blame but myself,” said Las Vegas’ Newman, who is trained by future Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr. and former world champion Bones Adams. “I was in shape and out of focus, period. I beat myself tonight, but I’ll bounce back.”

Kalvin Henderson was originally set to face Kevin Newman in a 10-round super middleweight matchup, but later withdrew due to an injury. 26-six-year-old Albanian Genc Pllana will replace Henderson and go toe-to-toe with Newman inside of Sam’s Town Live.

Pllana, now fighting out of Hagerstown, Md., stayed active throughout 2019 with seven consecutive fights. In his most recent bout on December 6, 2019, Pllana fought the undefeated Henderson to his first career draw. Although he had just four amateur bouts to his name, Pllana has the determination to climb the super middleweight rankings and one day become a world champion.

On the impact Roy Jones Jr. & Floyd Mayweather has had on Newman’s career…

Newman: “I’ve known Roy Jones for going on three years now and Floyd Mayweather for over six years. It’s an honor to have the legends who I looked up to as a kid here mentoring me and to have that access to them is invaluable. I’ve been blessed enough to have access to them and as a student in this game it’s only going to benefit me in the end.

“Two of the most important things I’ve learned from Roy is really just learning how to get all the leverage on all my punches and throwing combinations. Philadelphia, PA (December 9, 2019)– World Ranked welterweight Mykal Fox won a eight-round unanimous decision over Johnny Arellano in the main event of a seven bout show at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.

The card was promoted by King’s Promotions.

Fox of Forestville, Maryland, controlled the action by keeping his jab in the face of Arellano. Arellano tried to get inside, but it was the experience of the fighter known as “The Professor” that was able to thwart the offense of Arellano.

In round five, Fox was able to score a knockdown on shot that landed while both fighters were on the inside.

The number-14 ranked welterweight in the world by the IBF and number-15 by the WBA, Fox won by scores of 80-71 twice and 78-73 to run his winning streak to three in a row and raise his overall mark to 22-1. Arellano of Conroe, Texas is 10-2.

“Johnny is tough. He was awkward. He has some height on him presented some challenges, but we made the adjustments like we are supposed to,” said the 6’4″ Fox. “In 2020, we are looking for good fights, and just keep moving forward. That’s the biggest thing. We are going to go back to the gym, and work on the things we need to. I am going to work on what we did bad, and improve on what we did good, and look for a big 2020. We are going to keep working.”

Kalvin Henderson and Genc Pllana battled to an eight-round majority draw in a super middleweight bout.

Pllana took a card 79-73, while two cards read even at 76-76.

Henderson of Fayettville, AR is 12-0-1. Pllana of Hagerstown, MD is 7-1-2.

WBA number-10 ranked super bantamweight Marcus Bates won an eight-round unanimous decision over Francisco Pedroza.

In round eight, Bates dropped Pedroza with a left hook to the head.

Bates of Washington, DC won by scores of 80-71 twice and 78-73 and is 11-1-1. Pedroza is 13-10-2.

“It was a good performance. I could have done better. I have to go back to the gym and talk with my team, put the work in and get better,” said Bates.

“Whatever my team and promoter want me to do next is what I am going to do.”

Tyrome Jones stopped previously undefeated Shamar Fulton in round two of a scheduled six-round lightweight bout.

Jones dropped Fulton in round two with a hard right hook. Fulton was hurt, and Jones scored some vicious follow up shots and the but was stopped at 2:10.

Jones of South Bend, IN is 5-6-1- with two knockouts. Fulton of Philadelphia is 4-1-1.

Shinard Bunch won a six-round unanimous decision over Vicente Morales in a welterweight bout.

Bunch of Trenton, , NJ won by scores of 60-54, 59-55 and 58-56 and is now 5-1. Morales is 3-5-2.

Martino Jules won an six-round unanimous decision over Eric Manriquez in a junior lightweight bout.

In round three, Jules dropped Manriquez with a hard right hook. Jules scored another knock down in round five, and cruised home to the victory by scores of 59-53 and 60-52 twice.

Jules of Allentown, PA is 8-0. Manriquez of Houston is 8-10-1.

Devar Ferhadi stopped Vincent Baccus in round five of a scheduled six-round bouts of undefeated super middleweights.

Ferhadi rocked Baccus in the 3rd with a left hook to the head. In round five, Ferhadi dropped Baccus with a hard 1-2 combination. Ferhadi continued to beat down Baccus until the bout was called off at 1:45.

Ferhadi, who just granulated from Medical school is from Frederick, MD via Iraq is now 8-0 with seven knockouts. Baccus of Oklahoma is 4-1-1.

“We had to take our time in there, it was out 1st six-round fight. I had to listen to my corner and patiently walk him down, get the jab going, figure out what punches he was throwing, and try to get the caliber of his power, and respect it accordingly,” said Ferhadi. “The Philly fans are great. Hopefully I will be back soon.”

In Arellano, he is taking on another tall welterweight. Fox, who stands almost 6’4″ will taking on a fighter just two inches shorter in this important matchup.

“From what I have seen of him, he wings a lot of his shots. At 6’2″ he is my tallest opponent, but I will be his tallest opponent, and he is a brawler. Let’s see how that plays out for him being the shorter man.”

Now ranked number-14 by the IBF and Number-15 by the WBA, Fox knows that big opportunities are just around the corner and he would like to put in a great performance to end the year.

“I think next year, I will get more big opportunities. I have fought on ShoBox and have a win over an Olympic Gold Medal winner that was on ESPN +, I see more fights like that and even bigger fights in 2020. I see what my brother is going through, he is the number-one middleweight contender by the WBO.
