ATLANTIC CITY BOXING HALL OF FAME UNVEILS DISTINGUISHED GUEST LIST FOR 7th ANNUAL AWARDS & INDUCTION WEEKEND

Atlantic City, N.J. September 26, 2023 – The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame (ACBHOF) proudly announces the roster of special guests attending the 7th Annual Awards & Induction Weekend, held from Friday, September 29th to Sunday, October 1st, 2023, at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. The guest list features notable boxing figures such as: Roberto Duran, Michael Spinks, James Toney, Vinny Paz, Gerry Cooney, Ray Mercer, Tim Witherspoon, Kelly Pavlik, Lamon Brewster, Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson, Junior Jones, Reggie Johnson, Mark Breland, Sharmba Mitchell, Eva Jones-Young, John Scully, Michael Olajide, Iran Barkley, Michael Nunn, Danny “Little Red” Lopez, Jeff Chandler, Montell Griffin, Yaqui Lopez, Al Cole, Kali Reis, Hector Camacho Jr., Rodney Moore, Kendall Holt, Dave Tiberi, Nate Miller and William Joppy, to name a few.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, September 29th, with the “Opening Bell” VIP Cocktail Reception from 5:00pm – 8:00pm, followed by the Friday Night Fight Presented by Hard Hitting Promotions at Bally’s Casino Atlantic City. On Saturday, September 30th, the Fight Fan Experience & Boxing Exhibits at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will be open from 11:00am – 1:00pm

The highlight of the weekend is the Red-Carpet Formal Awards & Induction Ceremony, taking place on Saturday night inside the Sound Waves Theater. Attendees will enjoy a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with other boxing luminaries and special VIP guests, as well as honor all who helped put Atlantic City on the boxing map. The Pre-VIP Cocktail Reception will begin at 5:00pm, and it leads into the Official Awards & Induction Program from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. After the Awards Ceremony, guests with VIP tickets will have the chance to experience the Post-VIP Reception, which includes a bonus fight watch party for Canelo Alverez vs. Jermell Charlo

FORMER THREE-DIVISION WORLD CHAMPION, IRAN BARKLEY TO HOST MEET AND GREET AT FANTASY SPRINGS RESORT CASINO ON SEPTEMBER 30

LOS ANGELES (September 8, 2016) – One of New York’s greatest boxers will travel out west on Friday, September 30, as former three-division world champion Iran “The Blade” Barkley will be the special VIP guest at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. “The Blade” will be available to meet and greet fans in attendance at the Special Events Center, before the televised portion of the Estrella TV Boxeo Estelar broadcast headlined by Michael “The Artist” Perez (24-1-2, 11 KOs) taking on Petr “Zar” Petrov (37-4-2, 17 KOs) a 12-round WBA Lightweight World Title Eliminator.

A native of the Bronx who compiled a stellar amateur record before turning professional in 1982, Barkley (43-19-1, 27 KOs) was revered for his aggressive style and fight-ending power, as well as for his willingness to face all comers from middleweight to heavyweight over the course of his 17-year career. Best remembered for his pair of wins over Thomas”Hitmans” Hearns, the champion at middleweight, super middleweight and light heavyweight divisions also faced the likes of Roberto “Manos de Pierda” Duran, James “Lights Out” Toney, Nigel “Dark Destroyer” Benn and Michael “Second To” Nunn before retiring in 1999.

In addition to the highly-anticipated main event between Perez and Petrov, a trio of Indio, California natives will take to the ring at Fantasy Springs on September 30. First, Luis Coria of will make his professional debut as part of the RingTV.com live stream in a four-round super featherweight fight against Tyshawn Sherman (0-2) of San Bernardino, Calif. Also, featured as part of the live stream, super bantamweight Javier Padilla will make his professional debut and Jose Sanchez (1-1) will each fight in respective four round fights against opponents soon to be announced. Also on the card and part of the RingTV.com live stream, super lightweight Jonathan “Thunder” Navarro (6-0, 5 KOs) risks his perfect record against Houston’s Larry Carrillo (5-1, 2 KOs) in a scheduled six-round super lightweight fight. Opening up the night, popular undefeated Ghanaian super middleweight Bastie Samir (14-0-1, 14 KOs) returns to the ring in a six-round bout against Sijoula Ade Shabazz (6-1, 5 KOs) of Frankfurt, Germany.

As previously announced, in the co-main event, Genaro “El Conde” Gamez (2-0, 2 KOs) will seek his third consecutive first round knockout when he faces fellow unbeaten Miguel Barajas (2-0, 1 KOs) of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in a four-round super featherweight fight televised on Estrella TV’s Boxeo Estelar. Opening up the broadcast, Santa Ana, California’s Alexis Rocha (4-0, 3 KOs) will participate in a six round welterweight fight.

Michael Perez vs. Petr Petrov is a 12-round fight for the WBA Lightweight World Title Eliminator presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Banner Promotions and sponsored by “Cerveza Tecate, BORN BOLD.” The Boxeo Estelar broadcast will air live on Estrella TV at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT. The card will also stream live on EstrellaTV.com and on YouTube via LBI Media, Inc.’s Fenomeno Studios. The Ring TV live stream will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. PT through 7:00 p.m.
