LONDON, ENGLAND – April 5, 2026 – Most Valuable Promotions’ (MVP) historic MVPW-01 took place tonight at Olympia in London, England, streaming live on Sky Sports in the UK and ESPN+ in the U.S., marking the launch of MVPW, the promotion’s new global platform dedicated to showcasing the sport’s elite women fighters through championship-caliber matchups year-round. It did feel different. I think I had to like kind of pace myself as well, but I think it suited me a lot better because I felt like I got better shots off. But I think 3 minutes is the way forward.

On going down a weight class:

I’m going to go down a weight. I think that weight was a bit too much for me. I think I felt the size in there a bit and she was really tough and maybe down a weight I could have got the stoppage but that weight is not for me.

On facing Mikaela Mayer under three minute rounds:

I’d love it to be three minute rounds and I think Mikaela [Mayer] will do three rounds as well. I think she’s got the work rate and I think she’ll do three minute rounds and it would be a shame to go back to twos. It’s kind of like going backwards.

Irma Garcia retained the IBF Super Flyweight title with a third-round stoppage over Emma Dolan.

In round one, Garcia scored a hard knockdown with a overhand left hand. Seconds later, Garcia dropped Dolan again with a powerful sweeping left. At the beginning of round three, Garcia landed another that put Dolan on the canvas. Later in the round, an overhand left made Dolan stumble back and the corner threw in the towel at 1:23.

Garcia, 113.8 lbs of Mexico City is 26-5-1 with six knockouts. Dolan, 114 lbs of Newark, ENG is 8-1.

Former world champion Shannon Courtenay stopped Sasha Booker in round three of their eight-round super flyweight bout.

In round two, Courtenay dropped Booker with a left hook to the head. In round three, Courtenay and Booker clashed heads and then Courtenay landed a left to the body that put Booker down and the fight was over at 1:57.

Courtenay, 113.4 lbs of Watford, ENG is 11-3 with four knockouts. Booker, 115.4 of England is 3-2.

Teresa Makinin won an eight-round decision over Chloe Watson in a bantamweight bout.

Makinin, 116.8 lbs of Finlan won by scores a 77-75 score and is now 6-0. Watson, 117.7 lbs of Merseyside, EMG is 9-3-1.

Elizabeth Oshoba stopped Chelsey Arnell in a six-round featherweight nout.

In round three, Oshoba landed two hard rights that backed Arnell into the ropes and the fight was stopped at 42 seconds.

On rescheduling her bout vs. Flores: “I was gutted. I was thinking, have I missed the opportunity? And you know, I always feel that the Lord’s time is better than ours. And to be fighting on the resurrection of Jesus Christ proved that to me. You know, every setback’s aligned. And April the 5th, I’ll become undisputed champion in front of my home crowd.”

On earning recognition in the UK: “I feel like I’ve done everything the right way. I’d like to think, as in I’ve never boxed for a vacant title. I’ve gone from champion to champion to champion. And the final one awaits me on April the 5th. I feel like holding integrity through it all will be the thing that will make you stand out in the long run. I just feel like doing it the right way might be the longer way, but I feel like it’s the way Ellie was meant to do it.”  

On fighting in the UK: “Whenever I pictured fighting for undisputed, it was always at home. So the fact that MVP has over-delivered for me, everything I’ve thought or imagined, they bettered.

On how she joined the card: “Thank you to MVP, Nakisa [Bidarian], Mike [Leanardi], and Jake Paul, cause they got me this opportunity. It wasn’t in the plan, but it’s just worked out. Everything just worked out perfectly for me. I started the year off, and everything’s aligning again. I went back to Jamie [Moore] and Nigel [Travis]. It was my fourth day back in the gym, and the next thing I’m getting a phone call from my manager saying that I’ve got a world title shot as well. So, it was all within a week. I’m just thankful.” 

On future bouts: “There are so many great women boxers out there now, and I’m more

looking at Mikaela Mayer, kind of that division, Lauren Price. But, you know, whatever happens happens. I think that’s what I’ve learned in my boxing career. You just got to go with the flow and win your fights.” 

On the move to 3-minute rounds: “I’ve wanted to do three-minute rounds for years now, but I’ve never kind of had the opportunity. But with MVP, they are massive supporters of three-minute rounds as well. So, we spoke about it, and they were going to get me three-minute rounds, and they got me the vacant WBO world title to go along with it.”
