In today’s press conference, hosted by senior sports writer and analyst Chris Mannix, Paul, Chavez Jr., Dorticós, and Ramírez had plenty to say about the upcoming fight. The fighters were also joined on stage by CEO and co-founder of MVP Nakisa Bidarian, chairman and CEO of Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya and Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. Other participants included former UFC bantamweight champion and boxing powerhouse, Boxrec’s #2 greatest pound-for-pound fighter of all time, Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm (33-2-3, 9 KOs), and one of Mexico’s brightest rising stars, Yolanda “Pitayita” Vega  (10-0, 1 KO) who faced off after it was announced that they are the newest signees to Most Valuable Promotions, and will also be joining the Paul-Chavez Jr. card.

Jake Paul Quotes

On why facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was the right fight following the Tyson win

“This fight has been brewing for quite some time now. The fans have wanted to see this, and I want to continue to elevate and raise the level of my opponents. This is a former world champion, and he has an amazing resume following in his dad’s footsteps […]. This guy is a great fighter, and I want to test myself against the best in the world.”

On how important it is to do what Canelo could not do and stop Chavez Jr.

“I’m going to shock the world once again and prove how good and how powerful I am. This is his toughest fight to date, and I’m going to embarrass him and make him quit like he always does.”

On if he wants the best of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

“I don’t want any excuses. When I beat this man, all the boxing media, like you always do, are going to discredit it. I’m going to expose and embarrass him. He’s the embarrassment of Mexico. Mexico doesn’t even claim him, and he’s going to get exposed on June 28. They say he’s training hard. They say this is the most focused he’s ever been. Good. As he should be. People don’t realize how good I actually am, and when he feels those first few punches, he’s going to want to quit and go back to his stool.”

On if this signals his pursuit of a world title

“I’ve always said that I’ll fight really tough people and fight big money fights. This is prize fighting, so I’m giving the fans what they want with every single fight by taking on tougher opponents.”

On if he’s thinking about a future matchup with Ramirez if he beats Chavez Jr.

“Yeah, 100%. This is what I came here to do: to become world champion and create one of the greatest sports stories the world has ever seen. Going from Disney Channel to YouTube to world champion in six to seven years? That’s the most relatable and best sports story that any kid can get behind. I’m here to inspire the next generation and do what no one has ever done before in the world’s hardest sport, and that is boxing.”

On fighting in this type of atmosphere

“Man, the Mexicans love me. I’m stepping into my home environment. They love me more than they love this guy. Mexico doesn’t even claim him. I love my Mexican fans, and they’ve always been rocking with me since day one. I’m going to show him who the real Mexican warrior is.”

On whether Chavez Jr. will be his very best after getting back in the gym to train

“That’s not a champion’s mindset. You have a big fight and all of a sudden you start training hard? I train as hard as possible, no matter who I’m fighting, and that shows you the type of person [Julio] is.”

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Quotes

On being called an embarrassment and a quitter

“Jake is crazy. I think he’s overrated. He hasn’t fought anybody in his life. On June 28th, he’s going to see what’s up. To start off, he’s never knocked anybody out. Give me one name he’s knocked out, just one. It’s like if I fought with my dad. It’s going to be a good fight. When he was born, I was already a champ.”

On what’s different coming into this fight

“I feel very good. I feel refreshed and renewed. I haven’t taken blows to the head, so I’m a lot better than he is.”

On what he has to do to win

“I need to prepare 100%. This is an interesting fight. It might not be easy, but I’m going to do the best I can to be the best person I am, but I think I’m going to take him.

On what he can do to Jake Paul

“He’s never fought anybody like me. Mike Tyson wasn’t even a fighter. He doesn’t know what he’s going to see or what to expect because he’s never seen it before. In boxing, you learn step by step, and he’s missing many.”

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. Quotes

On what he’s seen differently from his son coming into this fight

“I’ve never seen him train like this, he’s very focused. With all due respect to Jake Paul, there is no way that Jake Paul can beat my son.”

How does the fight end between your son and Jake Paul

“All fights are difficult. Jake Paul is young and strong, but he’s never faced a fighter like my son. I would’ve given Mike Tyson a better fight. He didn’t throw one punch the whole fight. This time is different. This time, he’s going to get fucked up.”

Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez Quotes

His reaction when he was presented with this fight

“I’m grateful to be here. It’s a great card, great show. At the end of the day, I’m going to keep my belt, defend my title, and move forward.”

On the challenge Dorticos presents

“He’s a great challenge. He’s a former world champion. I’m just glad to be here, and on June 28th I will keep my belt. That’s all.”

On how he plans to handle Dorticos’ power

“I’ve been in the gym and I’ve been training. I think I’ll handle it pretty well. We’ll see and be ready for June 28th.”

On how he’d feel about a showdown with Jake Paul down the line

“He’s been doing a great job. He has a good challenge, but if he wants the belt, maybe one day. He has to pass the test first.”

Yuniel Dorticos Quotes

On how he’s feeling coming into the fight

“First of all, I want to thank God and everybody who came here to attend this press conference. I want to thank MVP, Golden Boy, and Warrior Boxing. I promise on June 28th, even the angels will shake because the ‘KO Doctor’ is back.”

On if he feels like he’s at his best

“Yes, on paper it might say I’m 39, but I feel like a young man. I am absolutely grateful for this opportunity, but on June 28th, everybody will know who the KO doctor is.”

On if Ramirez has faced anyone with his [Dorticos] power

“Well, we’re going to have to see on June 28. He’s fought big guys, but he’s never fought anybody like me.”

MVP SIGNS MOST DOMINANT TWO-SPORT ATHLETE OF ALL TIME, FORMER BOXING AND UFC CHAMPION HOLLY HOLM AND UNDEFEATED RISING MEXICAN FIGHTER YOLANDA VEGA; HOLM VS. VEGA JOINS PAUL VS. CHÁVEZ JR. CARD ON SATURDAY, JUNE 28

NEW YORK, NY – May 14, 2025 – Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today reinforced its dominance in global women’s boxing by announcing the signings of Boxrec’s #2 greatest pound-for-pound women’s boxer of all time and former UFC 135lb champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm (33-2, 9 KOs) and 29-year-old undefeated Mexican superstar Yolanda “Pitayita” Vega (10-0, 1 KO). Holm and Vega join MVP’s elite roster ahead of their faceoff on the Jake Paul vs. Julio César Chávez Jr. card, first announced today at the event’s preview press conference, where Holm and Vega made a surprise appearance. Holm vs. Vega will be a 10-round lightweight bout contested over two-minute rounds. Paul vs. Chavez Jr. will air live globally on DAZN pay-per-view on Saturday, June 28, from Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and is presented by CELSIUS Live Fit Essential Energy with Golden Boy Promotions serving as an official licensed promoter. Tickets for Paul vs. Chavez Jr. are on sale now on Ticketmaster.com.

Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm (33-2, 9 KOs) is widely regarded as the most dominant two-sport athlete in combat sports history. A pioneer in women’s boxing and a trailblazer in MMA, Holm is the only fighter to hold world titles in both disciplines, cementing her legacy as a generational talent and global icon. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Holm grew up with a background in soccer, gymnastics, and swimming before discovering her passion and talent for boxing and kickboxing. In the fall of 2001, Holm won the IKF national amateur championship title before making her pro boxing debut in January 2002, winning by TKO over Martha Deitchman. Quickly establishing her dominance in the pro ranks, Holm earned her first title shot at the IBA super lightweight title in December 2004, earning a 10-round unanimous decision win over Terri Blair. After three title defense victories, she moved up to the welterweight class at 147 lbs and secured the WBA welterweight title in a unanimous decision over Angelica Martinez in June 2006. In June 2008, Holm stepped up to 154lbs in the super welterweight division and cruised to a 10-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Mary Jo Sanders, winning the then-vacant IBA and WBAN super welterweight titles. In December 2011, Holm was defeated by Anne Sophie Mathis as the pair contested for the vacant IBA female and WBAN welterweight titles. Holm quickly reclaimed her winning streak as she faced Mathis in a rematch in June 2012, avenging the loss with a unanimous decision   victory and adding the WBF, IBA, and WBAN titles to her collection. Holm then moved back down to the super lightweight division to compete for the vacant WBF and IBA titles, winning by decision over Diana Prazak. In May 2013, Holm cemented her legacy as an 18-time world champion across three weight classes as she successfully defended the WBF and IBA super lightweight titles against Mary McGee that month. Holm then pivoted her electrifying career into MMA, signing a multifight deal with the UFC in 2014. Her MMA career culminated in her headlining megafight against then-undefeated bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in November 2015, the most highly attended UFC event in history at the time. Rousey was the overwhelming favorite going into the bout, but Holm came into the bout strong, leveraging her southpaw stance and boxing skill to control the opening round before landing a sensational knockout in the second round—and handing Rousey her first loss. As she earned the title, Holm became the first person to win championships in both boxing and MMA. She is currently ranked Boxrec’s #2 greatest pound-for-pound fighter of all time and remains the most dominant two-sport athlete of all time, She will return to the ring on the Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. pay-per-view on Saturday, June 28 to face Yolanda Vega in a 10-round lightweight bout contested over two-minute rounds.

“I’m excited to partner with Most Valuable Promotions and return to the boxing ring,” said Holly Holm. “This new chapter is going to be an exciting journey, and I’m looking forward to the challenge. Coming full circle back to boxing- I’ve spent most of my MMA career at 135 pounds, and now I have the opportunity to make my boxing debut at that weight. With boxing titles in three higher weight classes under my belt, I’m eager to pursue a fourth title in a new division.”

Born and raised in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico, undefeated Mexican superstar Yolanda “Pitayita” Vega (10-0, 1 KO) has quickly emerged as one of the brightest talents in Mexico’s women’s boxing scene. Since making her pro boxing debut against Julissa Alejandra Guzman in July 2015, Vega has built a name for herself with her technical precision with relentless determination. Ranked as Boxrec’s #13 super lightweight women’s boxer in the world, Vega has established herself as a standout in Mexican boxing, with standout career moments such as her TKO win over Cintia Cardona Ortega in November 2023. After retaining an undefeated record for nearly ten years, Vega secured a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Claudia Fernanda Herrera Lopez in her most recent bout in March 2025 to earn the WBA Fedelatin super lightweight title. Riding the momentum of that win, she now sets her sights on extending her undefeated streak as she prepares to take on Holm in her first fight outside of Mexico on Saturday, June 28.

“I feel very happy and grateful to God that a company of this magnitude has taken me into account to join their roster. I am very committed because I know what it means to fight among the highest elite ranks and I trust a lot in my work reflecting at MVP,” said Yolanda “Pitayita” Vega. “Fighting against a champion of this stature on Saturday, June 28 brings me closer to my aim of becoming a world champion. I respect and admire her work a lot, but today she has become my next goal, and goals are meant to be achieved.”

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) continues to expand its commitment to women’s boxing in 2025 with the signings of Vega and Holm. These signings follow its recent additions of champions Savannah Marshall and Chantelle Cameron in May 2025 and the company’s historic lifetime agreement with seven-division world champion Amanda Serrano, who will complete her career under the MVP banner before becoming Chairwoman of MVP’s women’s boxing initiatives. In this new role, Serrano will lead efforts to identify, sign, develop, and market MVP’s growing roster of female athletes. MVP also announced the Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano trilogy fight, set for Friday, July 11 at Madison Square Garden and airing globally on Netflix, which will headline MSG’s first-ever all-women’s card and feature record-breaking purses for both fighters.

“Holly Holm is the most dominant two-sport athlete in history—period. Her accomplishments in both boxing and MMA are unmatched, and we’re honored to welcome her to Most Valuable Promotions,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “I remember when Holly shocked the world by knocking out Ronda Rousey, and I have no doubt she has the ability to shock the world again in her quest to become a boxing world champion once more. But Yolanda is a proud Mexican fighter and has her own plans, which is why she has signed a multi-fight contract with MVP. Signing both Holly Holm and Yolanda Vega reflects our commitment to building the biggest platform in the world for women’s boxing. With Jake Paul vs. Julio César Chávez Jr. headlining and Holm vs. Vega on the card, Saturday, June 28 is going to be one of the most entertaining events of the year.”

Paul vs. Chávez Jr. is produced and marketed by Most Valuable Promotions, with Golden Boy Promotions serving as the official licensed promoter, and is distributed by DAZN pay-per-view. INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR JAKE PAUL TO FACE MEXICO’S FORMER WORLD CHAMPION JULIO CÉSAR CHÁVEZ JR. IN MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS GLOBAL EVENT ON SATURDAY, JUNE 28 AT HONDA CENTER IN ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA, LIVE ON DAZN PPV

ATLANTA, GA – April 18, 2025 – Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced that boxing’s biggest disruptor, international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul (11-1, 7 KOs) takes his next step towards world champion against Mexico’s former champion Julio César Chávez Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs) on Saturday, June 28 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Paul vs. Chávez Jr. will be a standard 10-round men’s professional bout with three minute rounds and 10oz gloves, contested at 200lbs. The historic fight, an MVP Event, will air live globally on DAZN pay-per-view and is presented by CELSIUS Live Fit Essential Energy. Golden Boy Promotions will serve as the official licensed promoter. The event will also feature an array of high-end VIP packages including the return of the one-of-a-kind MVP Owner’s Experience.

In the co-main event, Golden Boy’s 33-year-old WBO cruiserweight world champion and WBA cruiserweight super champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (47-1, 30 KOs)—ESPN’s #2 cruiserweight in the world—will make a title defense against Cuba’s former WBA and IBF cruiserweight world champion, one of the best punchers in boxing and current WBA mandatory challenger Yuniel Dorticós (27-2, 25 KOs) in a men’s world championship bout contested at 200lbs with twelve, three-minute rounds.

The American pride of Puerto Rico, Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (11-1, 7 KOs), has shown tremendous growth as a boxer on his path to becoming a world champion, and now will look to prove he has what it takes against a former world champion in Julio César Chávez Jr. In just five years since turning pro, Paul has made his impact in the ring, earning high-profile victories over names like Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. His viral knockouts and headline-grabbing performances have breathed new life into boxing, drawing millions of fans and setting records. In his latest blockbuster fight in November 2024, Jake Paul defeated the Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson in a heavyweight bout in the first-ever live professional sporting event on Netflix. MVP’s Paul vs. Tyson shattered records, becoming the most-streamed sporting event ever with 108 million live viewers globally. Paul has collected multiple accolades for his commitment to the sport of boxing, including ESPNRingside’s 2021 Knockout of the Year, Sports Illustrated’s 2021 Breakout Boxer of the Year, ESPNRingside’s 2022 Viral Moment of the Year, and was the cover of Sports Illustrated’s “The 50 Most Influential Figures in Sports” issue, awarded specifically for his groundbreaking work to revolutionize the sport through equitable pay, providing a platform for young fighters, and his support of female boxers. Paul also partnered with USA Boxing ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, continuing his mission to elevate the sport and its future champions. Paul and MVP are now promoting the biggest all-women’s card in boxing history, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 on Friday, July 11 at Madison Square Garden, live globally on Netflix, which will feature women’s undisputed and unified championship bouts across its entire main card and six of the top 15–and four of the top 10–women’s pound-for-pound fighters on Boxrec.

“Five years ago, I stepped into the ring for my pro debut after a single amateur fight, and every fight since has been a step towards becoming world champion. I just defeated the baddest man on the planet, and now I’m going against a former champion who conman Canelo couldn’t finish,” said Jake Paul. “Chávez Jr. is Mexican, but I, El Gallo De Dorado, have the will and heart of the great Mexican fighters. On Saturday, June 28, live on DAZN pay-per-view, I will knock out Julio and make Chávez Sr. proud in ways Jr. never has. Another massive event from Most Valuable Promotions, with some Oscar De La Hoya seasoning added to the show. Viva La Puerto Rico.”

Julio César Chávez Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs) is a Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico native and son of former three-division world boxing champion Julio César Chávez, “El Gran Campeón Mexicano,” the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. Chávez Jr. began his professional career with an impressive undefeated streak across his first 47 fights. Chávez Jr. climbed the rankings and became the WBC middleweight world champion in 2011, before being defeated by Sergio Martinez in Chávez’s fourth title defense in 2012. Chávez Jr. went on to reclaim regional titles and later won the WBC Continental Americas Super Middleweight title, recently fighting in his hometown of Culiacan to a UD win over David Zegarra. In June 2021, Chávez squared off with MMA star Anderson Silva, suffering a narrow split decision defeat. He most recently returned to the ring to defeat MMA icon Uriah Hall by unanimous decision on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024. Now, Chávez Jr. will have the opportunity to grow his legacy further within the cruiserweight division as he faces Jake Paul on Saturday, June 28.

“First of all, I will show what I can do now that everything is in the right place in my life—mentally and physically,” said Julio César Chávez Jr. “I feel rejuvenated and 10 years younger. Second, I want to thank MVP for taking the risk of fighting me. Unfortunately for their Problem Child, they’re going to have a big problem this June—one they won’t know how to resolve. Hopefully when I beat him, people won’t underestimate this win.”

“Saturday, June 28 marks a defining moment in Jake Paul’s ascent to the top of the boxing world as he aims to show the 125 million people that watched him fight Mike Tyson that he is a real contender in the sport,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “Julio César Chávez Jr., a former world champion and the heir to Mexico’s most iconic boxing legacy will be looking to cement his legacy by definitively defeating Jake, something no opponent has been able to do. Add to that the co-main event, which has the return of Mexican Zurdo Ramirez, the WBA and WBO champion, defending his titles against the dangerous Cuban Yuniel Dorticós and you have the ingredients for a night full of fireworks. Most Valuable Promotions is honored to present this momentous card in partnership with Golden Boy Promotions, live from Honda Center in Anaheim and we are proud to continue delivering groundbreaking moments for the sport on DAZN pay-per-view.”

Golden Boy’s Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (47-1, 30 KOs) has over a decade of experience under his belt, debuting as a professional in 2009 and embarking on a career that would see him make boxing history multiple times. In 2016, Ramirez won the WBO Super Middleweight title, defeating “King” Arthur Abraham by unanimous decision in a dominant performance. This victory cemented his status as one of the top fighters, and he became the first Mexican-born fighter to win a world title in the division. Ramirez successfully defended his belt multiple times, defeating tough opponents such as Jesse “Hard Work” Hart and Roamer Alexis Angulo. After five defenses of his title, Ramirez moved up to light heavyweight, where he went on a five-fight winning streak before facing Dmitry Bivol in a unification bout in November 2022. Although Ramirez’ undefeated streak ended in this contest, the fight showcased his resilience, heart, and determination to the sport. Turning that loss into a lesson, Ramirez returned to the ring 11 months later as a cruiserweight this time around. In November 2024, Ramirez made boxing history once again, becoming the first Mexican-born unified cruiserweight champion in an all-action packed war against Chris Billam-Smith in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ramirez’s legacy as one of the most skilled and dangerous fighters of his era continues to grow, and he is widely regarded as one of Mexico’s best current champions.

“I’m excited to step back into the ring this June to defend my WBA and WBO titles. This fight marks my WBA mandatory, and I know I need to get past this opponent to stay on track in my journey toward greatness—and ultimately, to become the undisputed champion,” said Zurdo Ramirez. “I’ve been training non-stop and feel sharper than ever as I continue to grow and mature in the sport. The goal hasn’t changed. I’m locked in, and I’m proud to be featured on this card alongside Jake Paul and my good friend Julio César Chávez Jr. A big thank you to my team, Golden Boy Promotions, MVP, the WBA, the WBO, and all my fans. I can’t wait to put on a show you won’t forget.”

WBA mandatory challenger Yuniel Dorticós (27-2, 25 KOs), known as “The KO Doctor,” is a Cuban professional boxer renowned for his explosive punching power and success in the cruiserweight division. Born on March 11, 1986, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, he enjoyed a strong amateur career, finishing as a national runner-up multiple times and competing in the Boxing World Cup before defecting to the United States in 2009. Turning professional the same year, Dorticós quickly gained attention by winning his first 17 fights by knockout. He captured the WBA interim cruiserweight title in 2016 and went on to become the WBA (Regular) champion in 2017, defending the title until a loss to Murat Gassiev in 2018. In 2019, he claimed the vacant IBF cruiserweight title with a knockout victory over Andrew Tabiti during the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS), ultimately reaching the WBSS final, where he lost a close decision to Mairis Briedis. Known for his aggressive style and knockout power—evidenced by a record of 27 wins (25 by KO) and just 2 losses—Dorticós remains a respected force in the ring. He resides in Miami, Florida, where he continues to train and represent the proud tradition of Cuban boxing.

“I want to thank MVP, my promoters and Golden Boy for this opportunity,” said Yuniel Dorticós. “My goal is to become a three-time world champion, and now by fighting Zurdo Ramirez I have been granted the chance to accomplish my goals on Saturday, June 28.”

“Once again, Golden Boy is proving that we’re willing to work with anyone to deliver the biggest and most exciting events in boxing. We’re thrilled to partner with Jake Paul, Nakisa Bidarian, Most Valuable Promotions, and DAZN to bring this blockbuster night to fans around the world,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy. “Now the WBA and WBO Unified Cruiserweight Champion, Zurdo has made history not once, but twice—first as the first Mexican-born fighter to become a super middleweight world champion, and now as the first-ever Mexican to claim a cruiserweight world title, holding championships in both divisions. Ramirez is ready to light up the ring once again—this time against the dangerous Yuniel Dorticós, who’s coming in with everything he’s got to steal the spotlight in this mandatory matchup. But make no mistake: Zurdo is built for moments like this. It’s going to be an unforgettable night celebrating the best of Mexican boxing!”

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Jake Paul back to DAZN against a championship calibre opponent in Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.” said Jared Kass, SVP North America, DAZN. “We are grateful to our partners at MVP and Golden Boy for delivering an unmissable night of action from start to finish. So tune in Saturday, June 28, only on DAZN.”

Paul vs. Chávez Jr. is produced and marketed by Most Valuable Promotions, with Golden Boy Promotions serving as the official licensed promoter, and is distributed by DAZN pay-per-view. “Thank you to United Boxing Promotions and Most Valuable Promotions for giving me the opportunity to defend my world title on such a big stage,” said Sara Bailey. “Bringing this level of boxing to Toronto is huge for the sport, and I’m grateful to MVP for putting a spotlight on women’s boxing and rising athletes with this event. Canada has a deep pool of talent and I’m looking forward to representing on Friday, March 7.”

MVP’s newest signee, Tamm Thibeault (1-0) will also join the main card of Most Valuable Prospects 11 vs. Sonya Dreiling (6-7, 2 KOs) in a middleweight bout contested over six, three-minute rounds. Originally from Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada, Thibeault began her boxing journey at the age of nine, inspired by seeing her father, a former CFL player, knock out an opponent during a Provincial boxing tournament. Following in his footsteps, she took up boxing at age 12 and was inspired to compete for Canada while watching the first women’s Olympic boxing competition during the 2012 London Olympics. The 28-year-old middleweight, a southpaw standing 6 feet tall, forged an outstanding career in the amateur ranks. A two-time Olympian, Thibeault made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, where she advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s 75kg (165lb) event, matching Canada’s best-ever Olympic result in any women’s boxing event. She went undefeated until she returned to the Paris Olympics in 2024, earning gold medals at the 2022 IBA Amateur World Championship, the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and the 2023 Pan Am Games. Thibeault, who speaks French, English, and Spanish, recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Concordia University in 2023, which she earned over seven years while competing. She currently lives in Sheffield, England, where she is earning a one-year Master’s degree in urban design and urban planning while training at the renowned Steel City Gym. Thibeault made her pro debut while competing under men’s rules, three-minute rounds, on the main card of MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 10 in December 2024, defeating Natasha “The Nightmare” Spence. She is currently the #8-ranked WBA middleweight contender. Her opponent, Sonya Dreiling (6-7, 2 KOs), is the #13-ranked middleweight by the WBC and a former US National Golden Gloves champion. She comes to the ring from Albertville, Alabama. Thibeault will make her next statement for equality in the sport alongside Dreiling as they compete over three-minute rounds on Friday, March 7.

“It is an honor to make history with MVP as part of the company’s first event in Canada on Friday, March 7,” said Tamm Thibeault. “Jake Paul, Nakisa Bidarian, and Most Valuable Promotions have been incredible advocates for me since I signed with MVP, and I can’t wait to fight in front of our home fans and alongside so many talented Canadian athletes in my second pro fight.”

Also on the main card will be a super lightweight bout featuring Barrie, Ontario’s “Marvelous” Mark Smither (13-1). Smither has contested for regional titles in his last three bouts, most recently defeating Helmand Meran Alekozai for the Canadian Super Lightweight title in October 2024. He is represented by United Boxing Promotions.

The Most Valuable Prospects 11 preliminary card will feature MVP’s three-time US national boxing champion and high-fashion model Alexis “Chop Chop” Chaparro (3-0, 3 KOs). The 24-year-old Chaparro, raised in Ridgewood, New York, competed at both the 2020 and 2024 USA Boxing Olympic trials. The gifted Puerto Rican athlete is also a high fashion model, having worked for Versace, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, and Polo Ralph Lauren, among others. Chaparro landed a sensational first-round KO win in his pro debut on Most Valuable Prospects 6 in April 2024, before scoring a stunning second round knockout win on the preliminary card of MVP’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024. He most recently earned a first-round TKO victory on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 9 in Puerto Rico in October 2024.

Joining Chaparro on the preliminary card will be standout 29-year old prospect Doni Foreman (1-0, 1 KO) from Brampton, Ontario, who will compete in a 4-round heavyweight bout. Also featured will be 22-year old Angel Barrientes (12-1, 7 KOs) in an 8-round super bantamweight bout and his twin, Chavez Barrientes (10-0, 6 KOs), also set to compete in an 8-round super bantamweight bout. The Barrientes brothers are promoted by Boxlab Promotions and come to the ring from Las Vegas, Nevada.

“MVP’s expansion into Canada marks a significant new chapter for MVP and underscores our commitment to discovering and promoting boxing talent from every corner of the globe,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “Lucas Bahdi had a remarkable year in 2024, and he’s earned the opportunity to headline his first event, joined by our latest signee, Tamm Thibeault, alongside fellow standout Canadian talents like Sara Bailey, on Friday, March 7. Given Nakisa’s Toronto roots, this event is particularly meaningful, demonstrating our commitment to bringing world-class Canadian talent to the forefront and igniting a new era for boxing in Canada. Thank you to DAZN for making the event available globally for free, no subscription required, on both DAZN.com and the DAZN app.”

The 11th event in the series will continue the commitment from MVP co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian to highlight the world’s best up-and-coming boxing talent. All events within Most Valuable Prospects will take place on Friday nights in 2025. INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR JAKE “EL GALLO” PAUL MARKS FIVE YEARS AS A PROFESSIONAL BOXER, LOOKING BACK ON FIVE BIGGEST IMPACTS ON THE SPORT WITH MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS

NEW YORK, NY – January 30, 2024 – Today marks five years since the professional boxing debut of Jake “El Gallo” Paul (11-1, 7 KOs). Jake picked up gloves for the first time at age 21 in 2018, and had just one amateur fight under his belt before making his pro debut against Ali Eson Gib. Since his first-round knockout victory over Gib, Jake has become a transformative figure in the sport of boxing, reshaping its future through empowerment, innovation, and advocacy, shattering records at every step of the way. Jake Paul and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) now look back on Jake’s five most impactful contributions that have redefined boxing over the past five years:

1. Championing Women’s Boxing

Jake Paul is doing more for women’s boxing than any other fighter alive, championing equality, advocating for equal competition rules, and providing unparalleled platforms for female fighters, resulting in record-breaking viewership and paydays for female fighters.

With MVP, Jake co-promoted the historic Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano fight in 2022 as they made history as the first-ever women to headline Madison Square Garden. The fight earned recognition as Sports Illustrated’s Fight of the Year and The Ring’s Event of the Year and was further nominated for Event of the Year by Sports Business Journal.

Jake and MVP also empowered Amanda Serrano’s fight for equality in women’s boxing as she defended her unified titles against Danila Ramos in the first-ever women’s unified championship fight contested over 12, three-minute rounds, equal to any men’s championship fight, in October 2023. This marked the first time a women’s fight has gone the full 12×3, and Serrano threw a career high of 1,103 punches in the bout. In honor of her trailblazing achievements inside and outside the ring, Serrano was awarded the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Female Fighter of the Year for 2023, as well as Sports Illustrated’s and Boxing Scene’s 2023 Women’s Fighter of the Year. Ahead of the event, Serrano and Ramos, supported by Jake and MVP, released a statement called CHOICE with the support of 25 of the most accomplished female boxers in history, including current and former boxing champions. The CHOICE statement affirmed the pursuit of female fighters to achieve equal pay, promotion, and competitive opportunity in the sport of boxing, advocating for the choice to fight championship fights under the same 12×3 rules as men.

In 2023, Jake was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s “The 50 Most Influential Figures in Sports” issue, celebrated for revolutionizing the sport by advocating for equitable pay and creating platforms for young fighters, particularly women.

In November 2024, Jake’s impact to date culminated in putting women’s boxing on the biggest stage imaginable with Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2, the most anticipated women’s boxing rematch ever, the co-main event of MVP’s Paul vs. Tyson. The rematch, recognized by ESPN, Sports Illustrated, and Boxing Scene as the 2024 Women’s Fight of the Year, became the most-watched professional women’s sports event in US history, attracting 74M live viewers globally, 56M peak concurrent views, and 47M AMA in the US. Serrano and Taylor also earned record paydays, setting a new benchmark for pay equity in the sport. Within two years of signing with Jake and MVP, Shadasia Green became MVP’s first home-grown world champion, winning the WBO super middleweight world title over Melinda Watpool also on the Paul vs. Tyson card.

Jake has further championed MVP’s newest female signees, Puerto Rican sensation Krystal Rosado and 2x Canadian Olympian Tamm Thibeault, as both fought three-minute rounds on MVP cards in statements for equality in women’s boxing.

2. Redefining Global Sports Entertainment

Since co-founding MVP in 2021, Jake has reimagined how boxing is presented to the world as an entertainment entity. In 2024, Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson became the first-ever live professional sports event on Netflix, breaking away from the traditional pay-per-view (PPV) model in favor of streaming the fight for free to the platform’s then-283+ million global subscribers. The fight set records as the most-streamed sporting event in history, reaching 108 million live viewers and over 65 million peak concurrent streams globally, with over 64 million AMA in the US. Together with Mike Tyson, Jake Paul transformed boxing into a global cultural phenomenon that attracted six generations of sports fans, demonstrating the untapped potential of pairing combat sports with the world’s largest entertainment streaming platforms.

3. Providing a Platform for Young and Diverse Professional Talent

Paul and MVP have invested in the future of professional boxing through MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects series, which highlights young and female talent from around the globe. Since its launch in 2023, the Most Valuable Prospects series has held ten iterations and provided dozens of boxing prospects with a TV platform far earlier in their careers than is typical in the sport, addressing a critical gap in professional boxing’s structure and identifying some of the top up-and-coming talent in the sport.

Jake and MVP also expanded the company’s talent roster to 11 athletes between 2021 and 2024, building greater global representation and inclusivity in the sport. In 2024 alone, Jake and MVP signed Puerto Rican fighters Krystal Rosado, Jan Paul Rivera, and Alexis “Chop Chop” Chaparro, as well as top-ranked Canadian lightweight “Prince” Lucas Bahdi, 2x Canadian Olympian Tamm Thibeault, and India’s #1 boxer Neeraj Goyat. Jake and MVP previously signed Puerto Rico’s first undisputed featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano, lightweight phenom H2O Sylve, super middleweight powerhouse Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green, and boxing prodigy and actor Javon “Wanna” Walton.

4. Revolutionizing the Amateur-Professional Boxing Pipeline

Jake founded his Boxing Bullies nonprofit in 2021 with the mission to instill self-confidence, leadership, and courage within youth through the sport of boxing, providing a positive outlet for children in underprivileged communities across the continental US and Puerto Rico. In April 2023, Boxing Bullies partnered with the World Boxing Organization (WBO) to renovate further youth boxing gyms across the United States. To date, thousands of children have participated in Boxing Bullies, gaining access to the organization’s 14 renovated gyms and programs designed to foster discipline, self-confidence, and a lifelong passion for the sport.

Jake also partnered with USA Boxing in December 2023 to shine a light on Olympic boxing ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, representing the first time a professional athlete and influencer has partnered with Team USA for the Olympics in this capacity. The groundbreaking partnership continued Jake’s mission to provide a platform for young fighters and amplify global interest in boxing. In March 2024, Jake gave his followers an inside look at what it’s like to train side-by-side with Team USA boxers and famed Olympic boxing coach, Billy Walsh at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Jake also provided mental performance coaching and led a social media workshop during the visit to help the Olympic fighters understand how to leverage social media and the power of developing their brands online.

In November 2024, Boxing Bullies also entered a groundbreaking partnership with USA Boxing. Set to roll out in Q1 2025, the partnership aims to make youth boxing as popular and accessible as karate for Generation Alpha and beyond. The partnership will introduce a tiered youth development program in 2,600 USA Boxing-affiliated gyms nationwide. The joint initiative will transform the lives of potentially millions of children and adolescents, targeting growth in the boxing fanbase and the amateur-professional boxing pipeline.

5. Individual Record-Breaking Moments

Since headlining his first fight, Jake Paul has broken records at every arena in the United States he has fought at. Most recently, Paul vs. Tyson in November 2024 achieved a gate of $18,117,072 with an average ticket price of $304, shattering AT&T Stadium’s former record and doubling Texas’s previous combat sports gate record of $9 million set by Canelo Álvarez, and marking the highest combat sports gate in US history outside of Las Vegas. Paul vs. Tyson also became the most-streamed sporting event in history with an AMA of 108M and 65M+ concurrent streams globally, including over 64M AMA in the US.

Paul vs. Bourland (initially scheduled as the co-main event of Serrano vs. Meinke), was the highest recorded gate for a boxing event in Puerto Rico history in March 2024. The Coliseo de Puerto Rico’s first-ever event, Miguel Cotto vs. Kelson Pinto in September 2004, previously held the record in Puerto Rico for nearly 20 years.

Paul vs. August in Orlando, FL achieved the highest recorded gate and highest average ticket price for a boxing event in Orlando’s history in December 2023. Jake’s record-setting appearance in Dallas, TX for Paul vs. Diaz in August 2023 was the highest boxing gate and second biggest combat sports gate ever at the American Airlines Center. In February 2023, Paul vs. Fury earned the highest boxing PPV sales from an event in the Middle East to date.

Previously, Paul vs. Silva broke a record for the second highest combat sports gate at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, Paul vs. Woodley II set the record for the highest combat sports gate at Amalie Arena in Tampa (where Jake later sold out Paul vs. Perry), and Paul vs. Woodley I was the highest boxing gate ever at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

About Jake Paul

Jake Paul, known as “El Gallo de Dorado,” has rapidly become one of the most influential figures in the world of combat sports. After rising to stardom on YouTube, Paul quickly earned a reputation for his brash, unapologetic behavior, which often landed him in the headlines. This rebellious attitude and controversial persona led to the birth of another one of Paul’s nicknames, “The Problem Child.” Paul left behind the digital influencer life and made the bold pivot to professional boxing in 2020. Driven by his passion for the sport and a desire to redefine his legacy, he relocated to Puerto Rico to focus fully on his training and boxing career.

After competing in three professional fights and headlining his first pay-per-view event in April 2021, Paul took another bold step. In August 2021, he co-founded Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) with Nakisa Bidarian, aiming to give fighters greater creative control over their careers. Paul’s commitment to the sport extends beyond his own career, as he and MVP actively promote women’s boxing and support rising talent through initiatives like MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects series. In 2023, Paul was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s “The 50 Most Influential Figures in Sports” issue — he was celebrated for revolutionizing the sport by advocating for equitable pay and creating platforms for young fighters, particularly women.

Paul’s impact in the ring is equally significant, with high-profile victories over names like Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. His viral knockouts and headline-grabbing performances have breathed new life into boxing, drawing millions of fans and setting records. In November 2024, he headlined a historic bout against boxing legend Mike Tyson, streamed live globally on Netflix. The event shattered records, becoming the most-streamed sporting event ever with 108 million live viewers globally. The main event peaked at 65 million concurrent streams worldwide, including 38 million in the US. During its broadcast, 56% of all US TV viewing from 9 PM-10 PM PST was dedicated to the fight.

The fight’s impact extended beyond streaming, achieving record commercial distribution across 6,000+ bars and restaurants in the US and topping Netflix charts in 78 countries. Globally, it trended as #1 on X, with #PaulTyson dominating worldwide discussions and #Serrano ranking second in major markets like the US, Brazil, Spain, and Canada. With an $18,117,072 gate and 72,300 attendees at AT&T Stadium, the event set a record as the highest-grossing combat sports gate in US history outside of Las Vegas and entered the top 10 overall.

Outside the ring, Paul’s contributions to the sport extend into philanthropy and advocacy. In 2021, he launched the Boxing Bullies foundation, a nonprofit that empowers and inspires young people through boxing. He’s also been an outspoken advocate for fighter rights and pay equity and has partnered with USA Boxing to support the development of future Olympic athletes. Through his ventures and advocacy, Paul continues to shape the future of boxing and influence the broader sports and entertainment landscape.

MVP SIGNS TWO-TIME CANADIAN OLYMPIAN AND AMATEUR WORLD CHAMPION TAMMARA “TAMM” THIBEAULT AHEAD OF PRO DEBUT

NEW YORK, NY – December 13, 2024 – Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced today that two-time Canadian Olympian and amateur world champion Tammara “Tamm” Thibeault will be the newest signee to MVP’s growing roster of world-class fighters. Thibeault joins MVP just ahead of her highly-anticipated pro debut against fellow Canadian and the #10 WBA-ranked middleweight, Natasha “The Nightmare” Spence (8-6, 6 KOs). Thibeault, a passionate advocate for gender equality in the sport, is making a powerful statement from the opening bell of her professional career as the first female boxer in history to compete in a pro debut under men’s rules—four three-minute rounds—in a middleweight / 160 lbs bout against Spence. The bout will open the main card of MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 10 on Friday, December 13 in Orlando, FL, available globally as part of the DAZN subscription package, with Boxlab Promotions serving as the official licensed promoter. Jake Paul, Amanda Serrano, and fellow Canadian signee Lucas Bahdi will be in attendance to support Thibeault and fellow MVP star Wanna Walton.

Originally from Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada, Thibeault began her boxing journey at the age of nine, inspired by seeing her father, a former CFL athlete who took up boxing in his offseason, knock out an opponent during a Provincial tournament. Following in his footsteps, she took up boxing at age 12 and was inspired to compete for Canada while watching the first women’s Olympic boxing competition at the 2012 London Olympics. Since then, the 27-year-old middleweight, a southpaw standing 6 feet tall, has forged an outstanding career in the amateur ranks. She is now poised to embark on the next chapter of her career, setting a new precedent in the pro ranks as the first female boxer in history to make a pro debut while competing under men’s rules, three-minute rounds, on the main card of MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 10.

“I am beyond excited to be part of Most Valuable Promotions,” said Tamm Thibeault. “The moment has come to start a new adventure, and I truly believe that with MVP, I will have the opportunity to bring something great to women’s professional boxing. Amanda Serrano has been an incredible inspiration, championing women’s choice in this sport, and I’m proud to follow her example by competing under men’s rules—with three-minute rounds—against Natasha Spence in my pro debut today. This is only the beginning, and I can’t wait to start this amazing journey!”

“I’m thrilled to welcome another strong female fighter in Tamm Thibeault to the MVP family,” said Amanda Serrano. “Tamm’s impressive accomplishments at the amateur level speak volumes about her talent and potential, and I’m confident she’s destined to become a future superstar. Most importantly, she shares our vision to uplift female fighters and show the world that women deserve recognition, a platform, and equal opportunity in this sport. By stepping into the ring to compete with three-minute rounds in her first pro fight, Tamm is making a bold statement on equality and setting a powerful example for the next generation of women in boxing. Change is coming.”

"Tamm Thibeault has the skills inside and outside the ring to ensure she has a long and successful boxing career," said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. "As a two-time Canadian Olympian and amateur world champion, Tamm has already proven herself as one of the sport's brightest rising stars. Her decision to compete under men’s rules in her professional debut is a groundbreaking moment, and we’re honored to support her as she sets a new standard for what’s possible in women’s boxing. The anticipation for her pro debut on Most Valuable Prospects 10 tonight is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see her continue inspiring athletes worldwide and showcasing her talents in an MVP event in Canada in 2025.

Thibeault joins MVP’s elite roster of superstar athletes and up-and-coming stars including international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul, boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight world champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano, prolific top boxing prospect H2O Sylve, MVP’s first homegrown champion, the new WBO Super Middleweight Champion, Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green, multi-talented megastar Javon “Wanna” Walton, India’s most successful professional boxer Neeraj Goyat, and top-ranked lightweight “Prince” Lucas Bahdi.

Founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, MVP aims to give athletes creative control, and aims to identify, grow, and maximize return for its talent partners and events. Together, Paul and Bidarian have architected Jake Paul’s meteoric rise in combat sports. In 2021, MVP signed one of the most decorated Hispanic athletes of all time, Amanda Serrano, who has since achieved historic milestones, including becoming Puerto Rico’s first-ever undisputed champion and competing in the first unified women’s championship fight contested over 12 three-minute rounds—the men’s championship standard—held in October 2023. Her previous historic clash against Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden in 2022 earned recognition as Sports Illustrated’s Fight of the Year, The Ring’s Event of the Year, and was further nominated for Event of the Year by Sports Business Journal. The event marked a pivotal point in women’s sports history as the first time women have headlined a main event at the world-renowned venue in New York City.

MVP’s recent collaboration with Netflix broke records with the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson mega-event, which is now the most-streamed sporting event ever, peaking at 65 million concurrent streams globally, with 38 million in the U.S. The event drew an average minute audience (AMA) of 108 million live viewers globally, which grew to 125 million (Live+1) over the weekend. Co-headlining the historic card, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2 became the most-watched professional women’s sports event in U.S. history, with an AMA of 47 million viewers domestically and 74 million globally. The event also ranked as the #1 title on Netflix in 78 countries, including the U.S., UK, Brazil, and India, and trended as the #1 topic worldwide on X during the event. Joe Hand Promotions reported that over 1 million viewers watched from 6,000 bars and restaurants in the U.S., breaking commercial distribution records.

STATEMENT FROM MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS REGARDING FICTITIOUS CLAIMS THAT UNDERMINE THE INTEGRITY OF THE PAUL VS. TYSON FIGHT

Following the wide circulation of incorrect and baseless claims that undermine the integrity of the Paul vs. Tyson event, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) would like to set the record straight regarding the contractual agreements and the nature of the fight.

Rigging a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States of America. Paul vs. Tyson was a professional match sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR). Both fighters in good faith performed to the best of their abilities with the goal of winning the fight. There were absolutely no restrictions – contractual or otherwise – around either fighter. Each boxer was able to use his full arsenal to win the fight. Any agreement to the contrary would violate TDLR boxing rules.

Trash talk and speculation are common in sports, and athletes and promoters need to tolerate nonsensical commentary, jokes and opinions. But suggesting anything other than full effort from these fighters is not only naïve but an insult to the work they put into their craft and to the sport itself.

It is further illogical and inane that MVP, in the debut of a hopeful long-term partnership with the world’s biggest streamer—an organization that made its first-ever foray into live professional sports with Paul vs. Tyson—would even so much as consider such a perverse violation of the rules of competition.

“This is not the first time Jake Paul has faced unfounded skepticism or outright disbelief as a professional athlete, and frankly, the claim that his bout must have been rigged is just the latest backhanded compliment to come his way,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “From day one in this sport, people have doubted his abilities—unable to reconcile how someone with his background has accomplished so much in such a short time. Jake has not only proven himself repeatedly, but he has continuously set historic records that speak for themselves. This event, which broke attendance and viewership milestones for a professional sporting event, is yet another example of his ability to deliver on the biggest stage. As long as Jake continues to exceed expectations, there will always be those who try to discredit his achievements. We embrace the doubt—it only fuels Jake to work harder and achieve greater success.”

MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS SIGNS FIRST CANADIAN ATHLETE, TOP-RANKED LIGHTWEIGHT BOXER “PRINCE” LUCAS BAHDI

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has announced today that “Prince” Lucas Bahdi (18-0, 15 KOs) will be the newest signee to MVP’s growing roster of world-class fighters. Bahdi, MVP’s first Canadian signee, is a top-ranked lightweight by both the IBF and WBA and recently proved himself among the best title contenders in the lightweight division when he scored a knockout-of-the-year contender win over H2O Sylve on the main card of Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024. Most recently, Bahdi further cemented his reputation as a rising force in the division by following up his win over Sylve with a decision victory over previously undefeated Armando Casamonica (14-1, 3 KOs) in a 10-round super lightweight bout, featured on the undercard of MVP’s historic Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Bahdi, born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, has gone undefeated since making his professional debut in mid-2019, winning his first 11 fights by knockout. The 30-year-old top contender had unanimous decision wins against Diego Fabian Eligio and Diego Andrade Chavez in 2022 before resuming his knockout streak. In May 2023, Bahdi defeated Jesus Amparan to claim the IBF North American Lightweight title.

“Signing with an innovative promoter, who puts fighters first, is one of the goals I’ve been working towards since I turned professional in 2019,” said “Prince” Lucas Bahdi. “I’m thrilled to be joining the Most Valuable Promotions team because I know that Jake Paul’s vision for boxers’ careers inside the ring and outside the ring will take me to where I want to be… a world champion and a star. Fighting on the Paul vs. Tyson undercard was just the beginning. I’m excited to keep showing the world what I’ve got.”

“Lucas Bahdi is an exceptional talent and a relentless competitor who embodies everything MVP stands for—passion, dedication, and doing the unexpected,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “With his impressive knockout power and undefeated record, Lucas has already made waves in the lightweight division, and we’re excited to work with him as he continues his journey toward becoming a world champion and global star. We look forward to Lucas Bahdi headlining an MVP event in Canada in 2025.”

Bahdi joins MVP’s elite roster of superstar athletes and up-and-coming stars including international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul, boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight world champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano, prolific top boxing prospect H2O Sylve, MVP’S first homegrown champion, the new WBO Super Middleweight Champion, Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green, multi-talented megastar Javon “Wanna” Walton, and India’s most successful professional boxer Neeraj Goyat

Founded by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, with the mission to give athletes creative control, MVP works to identify, grow, and maximize return for its talent partners and events.

Paul was able to and move around the ring and he occasionally mixed in a right hand that would drive the ex-champ back. There were several instances where it looked like Tyson was through for the fight, but he was able to manage be around for the final bell.

Paul landed 78 of 278 punches. Tyson was just 19 of 97.

Paul of Cleveland won by scores of 80-72 twice and 79-73 twice to raise his record to 11-1. Tyson of Brooklyn is 50-7.

Tyson-Paul: Netflix is the sure winner in an exhibition full of fears for Tyson

By Norm Frauenheim –

Mike Tyson has been making a fool out of himself and just about everybody around him for decades. Maybe, he’ll do it again, making a fool out of Jake Paul and the rest of us who believe he shouldn’t be in a traditional boxing ring against anybody anywhere.

Any more.

But, of course, he will be Friday night on the Cowboys home field in Texas in front of an expected crowd of 80,000 and who-knows-how-many from Netflix’s subscriber population of 287.2 million, millions more than the nearly 150 million who voted in the recent presidential election.

Don’t call it a fight, although the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation elected to do so, but only after adding four ounces to the usual 10-ounce gloves while reducing the number of scheduled rounds from 10 to eight and subtracting a minute from each round, from three to two.

Texas, like Netflix, knows a money-maker when it sees one. In this transactional era, traditional rules and regs are just some of the numbers that can be adjusted if the projected financials are big enough. They are.

Reportedly, Paul will walk away with $40-million, a purse that might make the accomplished Canelo Alvarez — the only traditional boxer left among the wealthy athletes near the top of Forbes’ annual rating — wonder if he’s in the wrong game.

But Tyson-Paul isn’t about boxing, although boxing surely wishes it was. Does anybody in the Tyson-Paul audience plan to watch the Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury heavyweight rematch next month? Guess here: Very few. Truth is, very few probably even know it’s happening.

Usyk-Fury is a real fight. It’s intriguing, but only for a shrinking demographic that still enjoys a craft historically defined as The Sweet Science. Nothing about the 58-year-old Tyson versus a 27-year-old Paul figures to be sweet or scientific.

It’s spectacle, a Tyson speciality. It also happens to be the only thing about Tyson that hasn’t eroded over the decades. He’s feared for his punching power, and perhaps some of that is still there. It’s the last thing to go.

But the real power, the most durable element in Tyson’s skillset — is his ongoing ability to create the kind of anticipation that precedes a spectacle and sometimes an accident. A crowd will gather for both.

Tyson’s career as an active fighter is remembered more for what happened in defeat than victory. The infamous Bite Fight — Evander Holyfield lost part of his ear and won the fight in a DQ — defines him. It shut down the MGM Grand and the city of Las Vegas on a hot night in June 1997.

Cabbies still driving Vegas streets tell stories about it to this day. Meanwhile, Holyfield, one of history’s great heavyweight champions, occupied an almost forgotten role in one of boxing’s most unforgettable moments, infamous because of Tyson and the genuine unpredictability he brings to any event.

Then.

And now.

Twenty-seven years later, that unpredictability is still centered around Tyson. He’ll be 60 in a couple of years. Texas regulators and Netflix can alter the length of rounds and the amount of padding in the gloves. It can tamper with a lot of the numbers. But not that one.

Father Time doesn’t negotiate.

On the scale Thursday, Tyson, reported to be at 233 pounds, looked good, especially for a man moving from middle age into old age. Some of the photos posted on social media included one word: SCARY.

Yeah, scary for him.

I’ve been asked to pick the fight. The sure winner, of course, is Netflix. But there’s another pick, really more of a hope. Here’s hoping Tyson emerges unhurt. Guess is, he will. For all of his trash-talk, Paul, reported to be at 220 pounds, is smart enough to know that his fellow Millennials in the crowd and audience are cheering for Tyson.

They remember him like kids remember their favorite comic-book SuperHeros. They never get old. But Tyson has.

Father Time beats us all, perhaps because of an unforeseen injury or just because of exhaustion, or an erosion in reflexes, or some problematic pre-condition. Remember, this fight was postponed in May because of an ulcer, which Tyson said was bleeding. Tyson told New York Magazine that he was spitting up blood. He was quoted as saying: “I said to the doctor: ‘Am I going to die?’ ‘’

Scary.

A hint at what might happen, perhaps, comes from his greatest rival, Holyfield.

Twenty-four years after The Bite Fight, a 58-year-old Holyfield lost to a mix-martial-arts fighter, Vitor Belfort, who agreed to do an exhibition just eight days before the show in 2021.

Within two minutes of opening bell, Holyfield went down, falling to the canvas in a chaotic crash of uncoordinated legs and limbs. Holyfield got up, but without any of the instinctive reflexes he possessed a couple of decades earlier. They were gone, washed away by the years. He was finished at 1:49 of the first round. It was sad, yet inevitable.

Then.

And probably now.

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced that Italy’s Armando Casamonica (14-0, 3 KOs) has joined the preliminary card of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Serrano vs. Taylor 2 mega-event on Friday, November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Casamonica will go head-to-head in a 10-round lightweight bout with Canada’s Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs), a top lightweight contender who also boasts Italian heritage. Casamonica steps in after Corey Marksman was forced to withdraw with an injury. The preliminary card of Paul vs. Tyson begins at 5:30pm ET / 4:30pm CT and will stream live on Most Valuable Promotions’ YouTube and Netflix Sports YouTube. You can also see more on fight night at Tudum. Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 will air live globally on Netflix on Friday, November 15 at 5pm PT / 8pm ET and is anticipated to be the biggest boxing event in modern history. Fans can purchase tickets now at seatgeek.com.

Born into the Casamonica Clan, the most feared family in Rome and throughout the Lazio region, Armando has decided to pursue his family’s legacy of dynasty through violence in the boxing ring. With generations of family history to study, Armando has learned the techniques and methods of the Casamonica Clan and translated that into the art of boxing. Hitting, dodging and dancing are the arts that he has learned but his street smarts and lethal killer instinct are inherited. Armando became the new Italian super lightweight champion in May of 2024, and won his first title defense in October bringing his professional record to 14-0. In Casamonica tradition, it will be the first of many assets he will seek to acquire and control at all costs.

“It’s an immense honor to represent my family and our legacy on the biggest stage in boxing,” said Armando Casamonica. “Boxers dream of nights like this—fighting under the lights at AT&T Stadium, in front of millions of fans around the world, including my fans at home in Italy, on Netflix. Thank you to MVP for this opportunity, I’m bringing everything I’ve got to this fight, and Lucas Bahdi better be ready because history meets destiny on Friday, November 15th.”

Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs) comes to the ring by way of Niagara Falls, Ontario. The 30-year-old top contender, who is also half Italian, has gone undefeated since making his professional debut in mid-2019, winning his first 11 fights by knockout. Bahdi had unanimous decision wins against Diego Fabian Eligio and Diego Andrade Chavez in 2022 before resuming his knockout streak. In May 2023, Bahdi defeated Jesus Amparan to claim the IBF North American Lightweight title. Bahdi is a top-ranked lightweight by both the IBF and WBA and most recently, proved himself among the best title contenders in the lightweight division when he scored a knockout of the year contender win over H2O Sylve on the main card of Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024.

“Undefeated fighters always fight hard to protect their records and I expect that Armando Casamonica will do that, but I’m also undefeated and will fight even harder than him,” said Lucas Bahdi. “ I can’t wait to put on a show on Friday, November 15.”

“This is exactly the kind of matchup that represents MVP’s vision— global fighters with extraordinary skills and stories that inspire,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP. “Armando Casamonica brings not only talent but also a powerful connection to his heritage that will resonate with fans across Italy and beyond. And with Lucas Bahdi, we have a fighter who is ready to reign in his weight class. It’s a clash of cultures, pride, and raw talent that is going to light up the night.”

The Paul vs. Tyson main event will feature the 8-round heavyweight battle between international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) vs. The Baddest Man on the Planet Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs). In the co-main event, undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) will put all her super lightweight belts on the line against boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) in a 10-round women’s championship fight, the most anticipated women’s boxing rematch in history. Also on the main card will be the 12-round men’s championship fight for the WBC welterweight title between reigning champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios (29-2, 18 KOs) vs. Abel Ramos (28-6-2, 22 KOs) and a 6-round super middleweight fight between India’s number one boxer and MVP’s first international signee Neeraj Goyat (18-4-2, 8 KOs) vs. Brazil’s multi-talented superstar Whindersson Nunes (2-2-1, 1 KO combined boxing record). Headlining the preliminary card will be MVP’s super middleweight powerhouse and the WBO’s #1 contender Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (14-1, 11 KOs) vs. the WBO’s #2 contender Melinda “The Whip” Watpool (7-0, 2 KO) in a 10 round women’s championship fight contested at 168 lbs for the vacant WBO super middleweight world title. Joining Green and Watpool on the preliminary card, will be an 8 round featherweight fight between two standout prospects, Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington Jr. (13-0, 8 KOs) and Australian action fighter Dana “Deadly” Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs).

MVP’S POWERHOUSE SHADASIA GREEN TAKES ON CANADIAN MELINDA WATPOOL FOR WBO SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE IN PRELIMINARY CARD HEADLINER OF NETFLIX AND MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS’ PAUL VS. TYSON

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced the three bout preliminary card of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Serrano vs. Taylor 2 mega-event on Friday, November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Joining Green and Watpool on the preliminary card, top-ranked IBF and WBA contender Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs) will take on Orlando, Florida’s Corey “2Smoove” Marksman (10-0-1, 7 KOs) in a 10 round lightweight battle of two of boxing’s undefeated contenders as each puts their undefeated record on the line early in their career. Also on the preliminary card will be an 8 round featherweight fight between two standout prospects, Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington Jr. (13-0, 8 KOs) and Australian action fighter Dana “Deadly” Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs). Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 will air live globally on Netflix on Friday, November 15 at 8pm ET / 5pm PT and is anticipated to be the biggest boxing event in modern history, and fans can purchase tickets now at seatgeek.com.

Making her second world title fight appearance in the headlining bout of the Paul vs. Tyson preliminary card will be MVP’s super middleweight powerhouse Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (14-1, 11 KOs). Green, the former standout college basketball star and Team USA boxing silver medalist, joined MVP in January 2023 after a trailblazing start to her professional career. Shortly after, Green defeated the former unified world champion Elin Cederroos with a vicious sixth-round TKO, marking the first and only time Cederroos was ever stopped in her career. Green’s bout against Olivia Curry in August 2023 led to a resounding unanimous decision victory as part of the Paul-Diaz undercard. Green rose to #1 ranking in the WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBF ahead of her women’s championship fight against former undisputed and now-WBC super middleweight champion Franchon-Crews Dezurn for the WBC world and WBA Interim titles. The bout resulted in a disappointing decision loss for Green, who returned to the ring in July 2024 to prove her status as a title contender, earning a unanimous decision win over Canada’s Natasha Spence. Following her win, the Patterson, NJ native Green is once again the WBO’s #1 contender at super middleweight.

Facing Green for the WBO super middleweight title will be Canada’s Melinda ‘The Whip’ Watpool (7-0, 2 KO). Ranked the WBO’s #2 super middleweight contender and WBA’s #1 middleweight contender, Watpool most recently had a decisive win over Natasha Spence to claim the WBA International Middleweight Championship in September 2024, and now will step up to face Green for the WBO super middleweight title. Watpool, the former five-time Canadian amateur champion from Pefferlaw, Ontario, has taken the professional ranks by storm since she turned professional in late 2022, racking up seven consecutive wins and now positioning herself for her WBO world title challenge against Shadasia Green.

Canadian boxer Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (17-0, 15 KOs) comes to the ring by way of Niagara Falls, Ontario. The 30-year-old top contender has gone undefeated since making his professional debut in mid-2019, winning his first 11 fights by knockout.

Orlando, Florida’s Corey “2Smoove” Marksman (10-0-1, 7 KOs) will take the ring against Bahdi in a 10-round lightweight bout. The talented 24-year-old prospect made a name for himself in his first major PPV appearance on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry main card in July 2024, in a rematch against Tony Aguilar. The pair’s first meeting resulted in a well-fought split decision draw, contested during MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 5 in February 2024. In the rematch, Marksman impressed with grit, power, and endurance, taking home a majority decision win. He now enters the most difficult test yet of his young career, aiming to prove himself against one of the best lightweight contenders of the world in Bahdi.

The preliminary card will also feature a bout between two top-ranked featherweight talents, the undefeated Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington Jr. (13-0, 8 KOs) vs. Australia’s Dana Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs). The 27-year-old standout prospect Carrington comes to the ring from Brownsville, NY, home of Mike Tyson. Carrington is a three-year pro who has emerged as the featherweight division’s fastest-rising contender, currently ranked No. 2 by the WBC and WBO. He entered the professional ranks following a storied amateur career that included a 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials gold medal. He began his 2024 campaign with February’s highlight-reel knockout of Bernard Torres, which was featured on SportsCenter’s Top 10. Four months later, he dominated Brayan De Gracia en route to an eighth-round stoppage. Carrington now comes into this high-profile fight coming off the stiffest test of his young career, his September 27 majority decision win over Sulaiman Segawa.

Dana “Deadly” Coolwell (13-2, 8 KOs) is a 25-year-old Australian Indigenous boxer, known for his resilience and remarkable journey from adversity to success. A proud Aboriginal man from the Mununjali tribe in Queensland, Coolwell overcame an early life marked by hardship, struggling with direction and purpose amidst family struggles. He discovered boxing at age 14 at Hinterland Boxing Club, where he met Steve Pitt, his coach, mentor, and father figure. Using his natural speed, athleticism, and hard work, Coolwell progressed throughout Australia’s boxing ranks under Pitt’s guidance, most recently securing the IBO Intercontinental featherweight title in a unanimous decision win over Fernando Tagpuno Jr. The talented young prospect is undefeated at featherweight and aims to become the next Indigenous Australian world champion and Australia’s next great boxing story, following names like Anothy Mundine, Daniel Geale, and Lionel Rose.

“From start to finish, Paul vs. Tyson will deliver an exciting night of boxing to fans at AT&T Stadium and across the globe on Friday, November 15, beginning with an action-packed preliminary card,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions. “Less than a year after her first title shot, MVP’s own Shadasia Green has fought her way back and is ready to claim the WBO world championship, but first she has to get through Melinda Watpool, who has her eyes on the prize. We are proud to continue our commitment to showcasing women’s boxing by featuring another title bout on this incredible card. Corey Marksman first caught our eye on Most Valuable Prospects, and after his standout performance on Paul vs. Perry, we’re thrilled to have him return to face Lucas Bahdi, who delivered a knockout-of-the-year contender on the same card. With the thrilling addition of Shu Shu Carrington and Dana Coolwell, a proud Aboriginal fighter from the Mununjali tribe, this card truly embodies the diversity and world-class talent that defines MVP.”

The Paul vs. Tyson main event will feature the 8-round heavyweight battle between international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) vs. The Baddest Man on the Planet Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs). In the co-main event, undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) will put all her super lightweight belts on the line against boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-2-1, 31 KOs) in a 10 round women’s championship fight, the most anticipated women’s boxing rematch in history.

Jake Paul Quotes

On why he’s fighting Mike Tyson: Making history. This is what it’s all about for me, man. I’m a kid from Ohio. […] They’ll never give me credit. That’s the way it is. If I was walking on water, they would say it’s because I couldn’t swim. And this is to make history. The people think I’m going to get knocked out by this strong, powerful guy. All the people in my comments say, ‘look at his power. He’s going to get KO’d.’ […] This has taken a chance to fight somebody as vicious as Mike can be. You got to risk it for the biscuit. That’s the name of the game. I’m here to make history. I’m here for a challenge. I’m here to fight one of the most dangerous men in all of boxing. No one that ever did anything great got there with ease or by an easy, non bumpy road. I’m here to challenge myself. He’s vicious. He’s a killer. I know all of these things. He has one punch knockout power. He’s the greatest heavyweight of all time. But I will prove […] all the haters wrong.

On the prospect of knocking out Tyson: People are yelling at me in the event, but what happens when I put this man to sleep? […] He’s saying that it’s going to be my funeral. He’s saying it’s going to be my wake. He’s going to kill Jake Paul. All of these things, and that’s why I love Mike. I respect him, but we’re not friends anymore until November 15th. I’m knocking this motherfucker out and we’re going to see who’s dead.

On how the fight will end: [Mike] is the one that wanted it to be a pro fight, so he’s going to get his ass knocked out [and have it count for his real professional record]. You’re going to see on BoxRec, Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Jake Paul KOs Mike Tyson.

On the criticisms against him: At the end of the day, people are always going to have something to say. It’s because of who I am. I proved everyone wrong. Reminder: the most hated and most criticized boxer in the sport of boxing before they loved them was Muhammad Ali. So I’m the anti-hero, and people will love me soon enough once they realize what I’ve done for this sport and who I truly am. But it doesn’t bother me at the end of the day, because when you’re at the top, people are clawing to rip you down. And that’s just the way the game goes.

On what’s next after Paul vs. Tyson: I’m still on the path to become world champion. There’s a lot of shit talkers out there, a lot of big names who want to fight me. I still want Canelo Alvarez and I want to go on the path to world championship and that’s what I’m here to do. And I will make it happen. And when it happens, people are going to go, ‘God damn that kid did something we didn’t.’

On why he took the Mike Perry fight after Paul vs. Tyson was rescheduled: In this sport, staying active is key. I’m on the path to [a] world championship. I’ll do the money fights, I’ll knock out some legends, but at the end of the day, I want the belt. And that’s what I’m here to do.

On how Mike Tyson will help him on his path to becoming world champion: [This is a fight with] big moments, big pressure, big stages [against] one of the greatest to ever do it. [Mike has] more experience than me, more fights than me, and I’m going to learn a lot in this fight and through this training camp. So this is helping me in my future fights and everything that I want to accomplish.

Mike Tyson Quotes

On his ulcer flareup and how recovery is going: I’m very prepared [to knock out Jake Paul]. I’m very prepared. I had a small adversity. I got sick, but I feel good. […] I’m just ready. I’m just ready. I’m going to do my talk and I’m going to talk my shit, but I’m ready to fight.

On if he’s back to training camp: Well I’m beautiful and I’ve been [back to] training for a while, like two weeks, three weeks. […] I’m in camp.

On if fans will see 1990s Mike Tyson in the ring: Hey, listen, [as] soon as I catch this guy, it’s [over. Jake Paul is] going to be running around [the ring], but as soon as I catch this guy, it’s going to be totally over.

On what happens to anyone who steps in the ring against him: I’m going to fuck you up.

On if Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will happen Friday, November 15: It’s happening. We’re all here.

On why he’s stepping back into the ring again: I don’t know. That’s a funny question. [I’m doing it] because I can. Who else can do it but me? Just look at it. Who else is he going to fight to make [an event of this magnitude] happen?

On how Jake’s disrespectful words make him feel: I don’t know. He amazes me. [Crowd chants “Fuck Jake Paul].

On if he’ll fight again after Paul vs. Tyson: Hey, we have options. We’ll see.

MVP’S FEAR NO MAN: JAKE PAUL VS. MIKE PERRY AND AMANDA SERRANO VS. KATIE MORGAN PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES

TAMPA, FL – July 18, 2024 – MVP’s Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) and the King of Violence, “Platinum” Mike Perry came face to face for the first time at a press conference held at the Amalie Arena ahead of their bout this Saturday, July 20. Paul vs. Perry, presented by CELSIUS Live Fit Essential Energy, is set for an eight-round cruiserweight bout and will be shown live globally on DAZN pay-per-view from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.

In the highly anticipated co-main event, boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight world champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs) will face top-10 ranked IBF, WBO, and WBA talent and KO artist, Stevie “Sledgehammer” Morgan (14-1, 13 KOs) in a 10×2 super lightweight fight. Amanda will test her power and endurance at super lightweight ahead of her clash with Katie Taylor later this year.

MVP’s undefeated phenom and top lightweight prospect H2O Sylve (11-0, 9 KOs) will put his undefeated record on the line yet again against top IBF and WBA ranked prospect Lucas “Prince” Bahdi (16-0, 14 KOs) in a 10 round lightweight bout. Also on the card, Mexican cruiserweight and former WBC world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.  (53-6-1, 34 KOs) returns against Uriah Hall (1-0 Boxing, 18-11, 14 KOs UFC) at cruiserweight and Crescent City, Florida’s Tony Aguilar (12-0-1, 4 KOs) vs. Orlando, Florida’s Corey “2Smoove” Marksman (9-0-1, 7 KOs) in an 8-round lightweight bout, a rematch of their split draw in February 2024 on Most Valuable Prospects 5.

In today’s press conference hosted by renowned combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, Paul, Perry, Serrano, Morgan, Sylve, Bahdi, Chavez Jr., Hall, Aguilar and Marksmen had plenty to say about the upcoming event:

JAKE PAUL QUOTES:

On whether he watched any footage of Perry: He had a boxing match in a triangle that I gained a lot of knowledge from. Lot of openings. It’s gonna be a short night Ariel.

On what he has to look out for in Perry’s skillset: The skills is what pay the bills. And he has no footwork, no head movement, no defense. He’s a great offensive fighter and bare knuckle, but in terms of boxing, he’s going to get picked apart very quickly, and it’s going to be a short night. Like I said, my predictions are never wrong, so I stand on business every single time I manifested into reality. I Jake Joseph Paul will knock out Mike Perry in less than two rounds. It’s going to happen, put money on it.

On what the rationale was to take the fight and the difference between Tyson and Perry: To stay getting experience under the bright lights on my world, on my path to World Championship. And that’s what matters, is getting the experience under the bright lights. And this is a Mike appetizer. Mike warm up, but they’re both killers at the end of the day, and I do have to be sharp. He does have one punch knockout power that I do have to respect. But other than that, it’s going to be easy.

On Conor McGregor telling press that Perry was fighting a ‘dweeb’ in Jake Paul: Well, first of all, he’s big up in BKFC, but you’re going to see what I’m going to do to their best fighter on Saturday night. I’m going to embarrass their entire league. This guy has no skill; those are just brawler idiot street fighter dudes who have no idea what the sweet science is. Conor McGregor can say what he wants, but he won’t fight me either. Once I knock out Mike Perry, Conor McGregor, let’s run it. But you won’t do it because you know what’s going to happen. You saw what I did to Nate Diaz, who you went toe-to-toe with. Conor McGregor, lay off the cocaine, get in the gym, and start winning fights. Then maybe we could have a conversation.

On why he chose to take a dangerous fight despite Mike Tyson’s concerns: This is what I do. I’m here to fight. I love to take risks and do big events. Mike Tyson called and was concerned about this fight jeopardizing the biggest fight of my career. That’s what puts the pressure on me, and I love that. I’m not slowing down for anybody. Mike Perry is not going to be the one to stop me. I’m on a path to World Championship. I’m not slowing down for anybody.

On what his biggest concern with the fight is: He’s unorthodox. That’s about it. So the first 30 seconds to a minute, just find my timing in range. That’s then the fight’s over. That’s really about it.

On whether he’ll fight Perry in MMA: Yes, let’s go after this. After I knock him out on Saturday, let’s sign the contract for some MMA. I’ll choke you out too.

On the decision to choose Perry as the opponent: This came about because he has a crazy fan base. And anytime I would post an Instagram picture over the last like 18 months, one of the top comments would always be fight Mike Perry. Fight. Mike Perry, you’re scared of Mike Perry, and so I love to prove people wrong and take the fights that no one thinks I’m going to take.

On how his skill has improved: This past year has been a different Jake Paul showing up into the gym, learning in the gym, and I really haven’t been able to display my skills because of the first round knockouts, and likely that’ll happen again on Saturday, but I really have so many tools in the shed that I’m ready to pull out and get warmed up as the rounds go on, and just display all the new things we’ve Been working on.

On coming back to Tampa:  There’s magic in this place. I love fighting in Florida and Tampa. The energy when I knocked out Woodley was amazing, one of the best moments of my life. I wanted to come back for another highlight reel KO.

Mike Perry Quotes:

On whether he has to get the win for not only himself but for the MMA community: I’m doing it for everybody, for me, for the fans, for BKFC, for MMA, you know, just mainly for me, because I believe in myself and my boxing ability. I’m a brawling boxing mug, so I’m ready to get in the ring with Jake and have some fun.

On how he has evolved since his last professional fight: I’ve been winning since then. There’s all I know. I’ve been victorious. I’ve been succeeding consistently, and I’ve been getting better every single day. Put this little twerp in his place. He’s new to this game. Welcome. Welcome. You just got here.

In response to Paul saying Perry has no boxing experience: Don’t worry, you’re going to get what you’ve been asking for, the fight to go longer than one round. Imma give you hell in the first round, and you’ll get tired. You’re going to be grasping for air. I made a new word, grasping.

On what makes him different from Diaz and other MMA fighters who Paul has fought: This is my chance to show the world what a real fighter can do in boxing. Those other guys were long past their prime.

Amanda Serrano Quotes:

On the trash talk from Stevie Morgan: Listen, I don’t pay attention to that. That doesn’t win fights, that doesn’t pay my bills. I go out, I train hard, I fight hard, and you’ll see Saturday night.

On if she is looking past Morgan with the Katie Taylor fight coming up: This is my 50th fight and I’ve never overlooked an opponent.

Stevie Morgan Quotes:

On her previous comment that Serrano is the weakest of the fighters at the top: I’m not being disrespectful at all, I’m just stating facts. If I had to fight any of the fighters at the top, Amanda is the one I’d choose mainly because she’ll make me look good… she’s on her way out, she could have retired two years ago.

On if Amanda is overlooking her for Katie Taylor: I don’t think she looks past any opponent, but she shouldn’t be for sure. One thing for sure, I am a professional, been in this game for 15 years, this is my 50th fight, and I never overlooked any opponent.

Lucas Bahdi Quotes:

On what it was like to get the call asking to be on the card: I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this, a big opportunity, a big stage. This is obviously my toughest fight, his toughest fight by two undefeated fighters. It’s gonna be a great fight.

H2O Sylve Quotes:

On what his assessment of Bahdi is: From what I saw in very fundamentally sound, he has a real right hand. I think that’s the best attribute on this side.

Tony Aguilar Quotes:

On the previous split decision ruling in his first match with Marksman and if it would have been different were he in better shape: It wouldn’t have been even close enough, and then even tried to call it a draw, you know, I mean, but Saturday, we will right that wrong, like they said, you know, because it was the wrong decision. But we will make sure they know on Saturday.

Corey Marksman Quotes:

On what he learned from the split decision between him and Aguilar: I’d say, don’t take anything for granted. You know, you might think that you’re in the lead, you might think that you’re winning the fight, but at the end of the day, the judges are the ones that decide that. So you gotta really go out there and take what’s yours.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Quotes:

On his motivation to come back after a three-year break: To be back in boxing is great for me. I’m ready to put on a performance on Saturday.

On whether this is a one-off or a comeback: This is definitely a comeback.

Uriah Hall Quotes:

On his decision to come back after a two-year hiatus As an athlete, as a warrior, you still have those tendencies. And time to time, I get a little bored… so when this came up, I got excited.

He first made a name for himself on Bellator, and Ring of Combat, when he won the ROC championship. He went on to take second on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen card, before making his debut in the middleweight division of the UFC in 2013, where he secured a record of 18 wins, 14 by KO, including a TKO of Anderson Silva in 2020. Hall retired from the UFC in 2022 in order to make his cruiserweight professional boxing debut against Le’Veon Bell on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva. Hall earned a unanimous decision win in the bout over the NFL running back-turned-boxer.

“I’m excited to get back to competing in the boxing ring on Saturday, July, 20,” said Uriah Hall. “I’m ready to challenge myself against a well known boxer and former world champion in Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.”

Joining the “Fear No Man” undercard will be MVP’s super middleweight powerhouse Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (13-1, 11 KOs), making her first appearance of 2024 in the ring. Green, the former standout college basketball star and Team USA boxing silver medalist, boasts an impressive 13-1 record with 11 KO’s and joined MVP in January 2023 after a trailblazing few years in the sport. Shortly after, Green defeated the former unified world champion Elin Cederroos with a vicious sixth round TKO, marking the first and only time Cederroos was ever stopped in her career. Green’s bout against Olivia Curry in August led to a resounding unanimous decision victory as part of the Paul-Diaz undercard. Green raised to #1 ranking in the WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBF ahead of her latest 10-round women’s championship bout against former undisputed and now-WBC super middleweight champion Franchon-Crews Dezurn for the WBC world and WBA Interim titles. The bout resulted in a disappointing decision loss for Green, and she now returns to the ring to prove her path back to title contender. The Paterson, NJ native will now face Canadian boxer Natasha “The Nightmare” Spence (8-4-2, 6 KOs) on the undercard of Paul vs. Perry and Serrano vs. Morgan on Saturday, July 20. Spence, the 39-year-old experienced fighter from Cambridge, Ontario, will aim to prove her own title aspirations in the ring against Green.

“I faced a disappointing loss, but I’ve taken the time to reflect, learn, and get back to training these past few months, and I’m going to be a brand-new fighter when I step into the ring at Amalie Arena on Saturday, July 20,” said Shadasia Green. “While I’m still working to win a world title, my only focus right now is on knocking out Natasha Spence. Thank you to MVP and my team for their support, and I’m grateful to be fighting alongside Jake, Amanda, and H2O again on this card. I’m going to remind the world that Shadasia Green is their future super middleweight champion.”

“Fear No Man promises an unforgettable night of challenges for every fighter on the card,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP. “We’re thrilled to announce that H2O Sylve will return to face a dangerous unbeaten title contender, both putting their undefeated records on the line. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will bring his storied Mexican boxing legacy to the ring against Uriah Hall after Hall’s decisive win over Le’Veon Bell at MVP’s Paul vs. Silva in 2022. Shadasia Green returns to pursue her championship aspirations hungrier than ever. Additionally, we look forward to showcasing rising stars and local talents, including Alexis Chaparro, the latest protege of Amanda Serrano. It promises to be an electrifying night of boxing at Amalie Arena in Tampa, available exclusively on DAZN pay-per-view.”

In another thrilling undercard matchup Angel Barrientes (11-1, 7 KOs) will face Edwin Rodriguez (12-8-2, 5 KOs) over 6 rounds at super bantamweight. The 21-year-old Barrientes comes to the ring from Las Vegas, Nevada by way of Honolulu, Hawaii. Barrientes most recently secured a decisive first-round knockout against Ernesto Sebastian Franzolini in late May 2024, building his current win streak to 8 fights. Barrientes now looks to add Rodriguez to his slate of wins. Rodriguez, a native of Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, has been boxing since age six. In his years as an amateur boxer, Rodriguez was a standout in the Puerto Rican boxing scene, facing notable boxers including Emmanuel “Manny” Rodríguez, Oscar Valdez, Alberto Machado, Jonathan “Bomba” González, and Angel “Tito” Acosta, among others. He accumulated a record of 201 wins and just 25 losses, taking home a silver medal at the Junior Olympics in Quito, Ecuador, and made the second team of the Puerto Rico National Amateur Boxing Team. Rodríguez made his professional debut in 2012, and has since fought 22 times. He trains with the Galarza family at the Los Galarza gym in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico, considered to be a testing ground for rising prospects.

Amanda Serrano’s newest signee, Alexis “Chop Chop” Chaparro (1-0, 1 KO) most recently took home a first-round KO win over Daniel Augare in his pro debut on Most Valuable Prospects 6 in April 2024. The 23-year-old Chaparro, born in Puerto Rico and raised in Ridgewood, New York, is a three-time national boxing champion who competed at both the 2020 and 2024 USA Boxing Olympic trials. The gifted athlete is also a high fashion model, having worked for Versace, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, and Polo Ralph Lauren, among others. Chaparro joins Serrano’s growing roster of Puerto Rican talents including the young undefeated sensation Krystal Rosado (3-0, 1 KO). Chaparro will now face Kevin Hill (1-1, 1 KO) in a four round middleweight bout on the Paul vs. Perry and Serrano vs. Morgan undercard. Hill, the more experienced 35-year-old fighter, comes to the ring from St. Louis, Missouri ready to challenge Chaparro’s speed and skill on Saturday, July 20.

Another Tampa local, Ariel “Golden Hulk” Perez (3-0, 2 KOs) returns to the ring following his crowd-raising performance on Most Valuable Prospects 6 in April 2024, set to take on Dane Guerrero (0-0-1) at light heavyweight. Perez dominated in his latest bout against Steven Motley in April, sending Motley staggering multiple times before locking in a stoppage victory in the fourth round. Guerrero, fighting out of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, now looks to add his first professional victory to his record after securing a draw in his professional debut in 2023.

Paul vs. Perry and Serrano vs. Morgan: “Fear No Man” is produced and marketed by MVP with Boxlab Promotions serving as the official licensed promoter and is distributed by DAZN pay-per–view. CELSIUS Live Fit Essential Energy, maker of lifestyle energy drink, is the exclusive energy drink sponsor of MVP. Additional information will be announced in the coming weeks.

In February of 2020, the organization announced the creation of Vinik Sports Group, which now serves as the parent company of the Lightning, AMALIE Arena and other sports and entertainment assets, including management of the Yuengling Center on the campus of the University of South Florida, as well as multi-media rights for USF Athletics. AMALIE Arena hosts over 200 events per year with over 2 million guests walking through the doors, while Yuengling Center hosts over 250 events per year with over 1 million guests. MVP’S INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR JAKE “EL GALLO” PAUL RETURNS TO THE RING AGAINST HIS MOST DANGEROUS OPPONENT TO DATE, BARE KNUCKLE BOXING CHAMPION AND MMA STAR “PLATINUM” MIKE PERRY ON SATURDAY, JULY 20 AT AMALIE ARENA IN TAMPA, FL, FOR “FEAR NO MAN” LIVE ON DAZN PAY-PER-VIEW GLOBALLY

NEW YORK, NY – June 18, 2024 – Today, MVP announced that international superstar Jake “El Gallo” Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) will return to the ring for “Fear No Man,” a cruiserweight battle against the incredibly dangerous bare knuckle champion boxer and MMA star “Platinum” Mike Perry (5-0, 3 KOs BKFC) on Saturday, July 20 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, live on DAZN pay-per-view. Paul vs. Perry will be an eight round cruiserweight bout, as Paul faces his most dangerous opponent to date and puts it all on the line in an incredibly risky fight against the baddest bare knuckle boxer of all time ahead of his bout with the Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson. Boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs) will also return to the ring against Tampa, Florida’s top-10 ranked IBF, WBO, and WBA talent and KO artist, Stevie “Sledgehammer” Morgan (14-1, 13 KOs) in the co-main event. Serrano vs. Morgan will be a super lightweight battle, contested over 10, two-minute rounds as Serrano aims to display her power at super lightweight against the powerful puncher, Morgan, ahead of her clash with Katie Taylor on Friday, November 15. Tickets for Paul vs. Perry and Serrano vs. Morgan at Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL will go on sale Wednesday, June 19th at 12pm ET on Ticketmaster.com.

“Fear No Man” is presented by CELSIUS Live Fit Essential Energy. The undercard will also feature the rematch of Crescent City, Florida’s Tony Aguilar (12-0-1, 4 KOs) vs. Orlando, Florida’s Corey “2Smoove” Marksman (9-0-1, 7 KOs) in an 8-round lightweight bout. Further undercard fights will be announced in the coming days.

Jake “El Gallo” Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) has shown tremendous growth as a boxer on his path to becoming a world champion, and now will face his most dangerous opponent to date, Mike Perry, on Saturday, July 20. Perry’s formidable knockout power and fearless mentality will pose a true risk and test for Paul as the 27-year-old aims to prove he has what it takes in the ring against his second youngest opponent to date, the 32-year-old Perry, who is one of the world’s most feared fighters and the baddest bare knuckle boxer of all time. Paul will nevertheless put it all on the line ahead of his bout against the Baddest Man on the Planet, Mike Tyson on Friday, November 15. Since turning pro in 2020, Paul has collected multiple accolades for his commitment to the sport of boxing, including ESPNRingside’s 2021 Knockout of the Year, Sports Illustrated’s 2021 Breakout Boxer of the Year, ESPNRingside’s 2022 Viral Moment of the Year, and was the cover of Sports Illustrated’s “The 50 Most Influential Figures in Sports” issue, awarded specifically for his groundbreaking work to revolutionize the sport through equitable pay, providing a platform for young fighters, and his support of female boxers. Paul also recently announced a partnership with USA Boxing ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, continuing his mission to elevate the sport and its future champions.

Since headlining his first fight, Paul has broken records at every arena he’s fought at during his professional career, including his first fight at Tampa’s Amalie Arena, Paul vs. Woodley II, which set the record for the highest combat sports gate in the arena’s history. Paul now returns to challenge his own record at Amalie Arena.

“When Paul vs. Tyson was rescheduled, I knew immediately that I wanted to still fight on Saturday, July 20. Now, as I prepare for my fight against Iron Mike, there’s no better opponent for me than Mike Perry,” said Jake Paul. “He’s a proven knockout artist who has shown to be a maniac in and out of the ring. This is the perfect experience for me to gain in advance of facing Mike Tyson. But getting that experience comes with risk. Those who know me know I’m a risk taker and while ‘Platinum’ Perry might try to end me, I’m Titanium Jake Paul and I fear no man. I’m going to get the W and give everyone a preview of what I’m bringing to the ring against Mike Tyson. Tune in on DAZN PPV as I return to Tampa and send ‘Platinum’ Perry the Platypus back to bare knuckle for good.”

“Platinum” Mike Perry (5-0, 3 KOs BKFC), one of the most dangerous fighters in combat sports, steps into the ring with Jake Paul following his fearsome career across the UFC, Triad Combat, and bare knuckle boxing. Following his 14-win career in the UFC, boasting 11 wins by knockout, Perry made his Triad Combat debut in November 2021, taking on 27-3, 21 KOs seasoned boxer Michael Seals, demonstrating his ability to handle power punchers and outworking Seals to a split decision victory in the bout. Less than three months later, Perry made his bare knuckle boxing debut with BKFC, securing his first win over Julian Lane in 2022, which he followed with a thrilling win over dynamic striker Michael “Venom” Page later that year. Perry’s bout with former UFC champion Luke Rockhold in April 2023 ended decisively with a second-round knockout, highlighting Perry’s striking power and relentless pressure from the opening bell. In his BKFC “King of Violence” title fight in December 2023 against Eddie Alvarez, the first-ever fighter to become a champion in both UFC and Bellator, Perry displayed his vicious power yet again with a second round TKO due to corner stoppage. Perry earned the 2023 Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Male Fighter of the Year and in April 2024, he expanded his undefeated record to 5-0 with a first-round KO of UFC veteran Thiago Alves. The bout served as the latest testament to the power, tenacity and skill Perry will bring to the ring against Jake Paul on Saturday, July 20 for “Fear No Man”.

“Jake Paul claims he fears no man, but on Saturday, July 20, the world will see the truth: he just made the worst mistake of his life in trying to get through me before Iron Mike,” said Mike Perry. “I’m going to make it look easy on Saturday July 20th, and I’m going to teach Jake Paul the most he’s ever learned about fighting.”

Amanda Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs), the first-ever Puerto Rican undisputed world champion, started her current featherweight title reign by defeating Heather Hardy in a brutal 10-round fight in 2019 to win the WBO belt, and has since defended her WBO belt six times. Serrano offered Hardy redemption in August 2023, but successfully defended her undisputed featherweight world champion title for the first time in a decisive 10 round unanimous decision victory. Serrano also won a blood-soaked war against WBA featherweight champion Erika Cruz in February 2023, which made her the undisputed featherweight champion. Serrano’s decisive win against Cruz followed her previous win over Sarah Mahfoud in Manchester, England that added the Dane’s IBF title to her WBO, WBC, and IBO featherweight belts. Her historic clash against Katie Taylor at Madison Square Garden in 2022 earned recognition as Sports Illustrated’s Fight of the Year and The Ring’s Event of the Year and was further nominated for Event of the Year by Sports Business Journal. Most recently, Serrano took home a unanimous decision victory against her mandatory WBO challenger Danila Ramos, making history in the first-ever women’s unified world championship to be fought over 12, three-minute rounds, equal to any men’s championship fight, and marking the first time a women’s fight has gone the full 12×3. Serrano threw a career high of 1103 punches in the bout. In honor of her trailblazing achievements inside and outside the ring, Serrano was also recently awarded the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Female Fighter of the Year for 2023. Following her bout against Stevie Morgan on Saturday, July 20, Serrano is set to face Katie Taylor in the most anticipated women’s boxing rematch in modern history, for the undisputed super lightweight women’s championship. Taylor vs. Serrano will be the co-main event of the rescheduled Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson mega-event at AT&T Stadium on Friday, November 15.

“I’ve already been preparing for a fight on Saturday, July 20, and even though I’ll now be waiting a little longer for my rematch with Katie Taylor, this is an opportunity for me to face another tough boxer in Stevie Morgan in Tampa,” said Amanda Serrano. “My opponent has 13 KOs, more than almost every other active female boxer, but I fear no woman – I embrace the war. I look forward to seeing all my Puerto Rican fans in Tampa for my 50th professional fight to show the world my skills at super lightweight, live on DAZN PPV.”

Stevie Morgan (14-1, 13 KOs), the 34-year-old 5’8” lightweight talent, has established herself as a formidable force in the boxing world. Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Stevie was an athlete throughout her school years, excelling in track and field, basketball, and football. Her journey into boxing began just a year before her first amateur fight, under the guidance of coach John Cassella. As an amateur, Stevie quickly rose to prominence with around 40 fights and accolades such as Outstanding Female Boxer and Florida Golden Gloves Champion. Stevie made her professional debut on June 18, 2022, with Brandi Mccain’s One One Six Promotions in Memphis, Tennessee. Under the expert training of Monyette Flowers at Flowers Boxing Lab, she has continued to build on her amateur success as a professional. Now in just her second year as a pro, she is currently ranked by the WBC and is in the top 10 of the IBF, WBO, and WBA world rankings.

“We’ve been training for an opportunity like this, and I want to give full respect to Amanda for all she has done in her career and for women’s boxing,” said Stevie Morgan. “In this sport, though, in order to make a name, you have to take a name. I have 13 KOs and nothing will be sweeter than making Amanda Serrano number 14. Come fight night on Saturday, July 20 there will be fireworks!”

“The stakes are high for every single one of MVP’s fighters stepping into the ring on Saturday, July 20. For Jake and Amanda, the pressure is on to emerge with a W against two very dangerous opponents in Mike Perry and Stevie Morgan,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP. “Jake Paul is facing a monster in Mike Perry. Amanda Serrano is going in there with a fighter who has 13KOs in 15 fights. Nothing is a given for our two superstars. We also have an incredible lineup of undercard fights coming together, the first of which features highly talented lightweight prospects Aguilar vs. Marksman. This fight will see these young talents putting their undefeated records on the line and working to set a new precedent for hopeful title contenders in the sport. We are excited to return to Tampa and put on another heart racing night of fights.”

Joining the undercard will be a battle of two of boxing’s up-and-coming lightweight prospects, Tony Aguilar (12-0-1, 4 KOs) vs. Corey Marksman (9-0-1, 7 KOs)The two were longtime amateur rivals before turning pro, and now look to secure Florida bragging rights during the bout. The 25-year-old Aguilar, a Crescent City, FL native, returns to the ring off his latest three thrilling fights on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects series, including his initial bout against Marksman on Most Valuable Prospects 5 in February 2024. He proudly represents his Mexican heritage in the ring, and is a relentlessly hard-working fighter who will look to keep the action high and his opponent guessing in his eagerly-anticipated rematch against Orlando, Florida’s Marksman. In the pair’s recent faceoff, the 23-year-old Marksman matched Aguilar’s energy and met the challenge with his own aggression and power. Aguilar, promoted by boxing legend Christy Martin, and Marksman fittingly fought to a split draw, a decision each will look to right in their favor on Saturday, July 20 in their first major PPV appearances.

“It’s great to have Jake Paul back on DAZN in another action packed, high risk fight,” said Jared Kass, SVP North America of DAZN. “With an unprecedented number of top-tier fights every year of DAZN, we are pleased to be adding another huge fight to our already packed summer schedule. Watch the fight exclusively live Saturday, July 20, only on DAZN PPV.”

Also on the undercard will be the 6 round 190 lb. cruiserweight bout between veteran Mexican cruiserweight and former WBC middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (53-6-1, 34 KOs) and UK UFC star Darren Till in Till’s professional boxing debut following his tremendous UFC career, which garnered the fighter 18 wins inside the cage, including 10 knockouts and 2 wins by submission.

Goyat, born in Begampur, Karnal, Haryana, India, began his amateur boxing career in 2006 while attending the Army Sports Institute and quickly began his rise to the top, winning gold in 2008 in the Youth National Tournament. Goyat is a three-time WBC Asia title holder in 2015, 2016, and 2017, was named “Honorary Boxer of the Year” in 2017 by WBC Asia, and was the first Indian boxer ever to make the WBC World Rankings. Goyat was hurt in a car accident in 2019, which postponed a mega fight in the works against Amir Khan, but has since resumed fighting and continues his hunt for greatness. In spring 2024, he surged to the forefront of fighter attention worldwide via his viral social media campaign to fight MVP co-founder and international superstar Jake Paul, which culminated with Goyat traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico to face off with Paul in person, ultimately signing to MVP. Goyat’s callout and subsequent faceoff set off a seismic wave of engagement across social media, garnering well over 150M views on his social media alone. With a massive following of over 100 million across social platforms, including 59.5 million on Instagram and 44.6 million on YouTube, Nunes is a formidable figure in the digital world. For his upcoming fight, he is sharpening his skills under the guidance of coaches Diego Rodrigues and Caio Franco, and is training alongside Olympic medalist and professional boxing standout Esquiva Falcao, promising his best performance yet.

“I grew up watching big names in boxing, so having the opportunity to be part of this card and challenge myself in this sport is an honor,” said Whindersson Nunes. “As I’ve said on other occasions, boxing is more than just a fight: it’s an art that requires a lot of technique, timing and strategy. I have been preparing myself daily with my coaches to present my best version of a fighter in Texas and, once again, defend and make my country proud.”

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced that MVP’s undefeated young phenom H2O Sylve (11-0, 9 KOs) will face fellow undefeated top prospect Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield (17-0, 12 KOs) in a clash of two of boxing’s best lightweight prospects. The 10-round lightweight battle will take place on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano undercard on Saturday, July 20 as the two up-and-coming stars put their undefeated records on the line early in their careers, breaking the boxing mold to differentiate themselves and help grow the sport. Joining Sylve vs. Schofield on the undercard will be veteran Mexican cruiserweight and former WBC middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (53-6-1, 34 KOs) vs. UK UFC star Darren Till in Till’s professional boxing debut following his tremendous UFC career, which garnered the fighter 18 wins inside the cage, including 10 knockouts and 2 wins by submission. The fight will be a 6 round cruiserweight bout, contested at 190lbs. Paul vs. Tyson will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. Over 120,000 fans have signed up for presale access, a testament to the unprecedented immense global demand and excitement for the Paul vs. Tyson heavyweight mega-fight and Taylor vs. Serrano, the most-anticipated rematch in women’s boxing history. Fans can still sign up for advance presale access here.

H2O Sylve, MVP’s undefeated 20-year-old phenom from Long Beach, California, returns to the ring following his 10-round bout against Brazil’s Estivan Falcao on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects V in February 2024. The fight marked a step up in class for Sylve and followed his thrilling knockout of veteran William Silva on the Paul vs. Diaz card in August of 2023. Now, Sylve, ESPN Ringside’s 2022 Prospect of the Year, will look to test himself against a fellow world-class boxing prospect in Schofield, as both set their eyes on becoming a title contender in the near future. Sylve signed with MVP in 2022 and has been training in boxing since age 6 under his father Ivan.

“I can’t wait to step into the ring with ‘Kid Austin,’” said H2O Sylve. “He’s just another stepping stone on my path to greatness and when I’m done with him, he’ll wish he never signed the contract. It’s an honor to fight on this historic card and on Saturday, July 20th, over 270 million fans can tune in on Netflix and 80,000 more fans live at AT&T Stadium will have the opportunity to see me take care of ‘Kid Austin’ once and for all. Thank you to MVP and Netflix for this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

No stranger to overcoming adversity, 21-year-old Floyd “Kid Austin” Schofield Jr. battled through poverty and homelessness to become one of the hottest world title contenders in the lightweight division. A pugilist working out of Davies Boxing and Fitness in San Antonio, Texas, his training and sparring resume features a long list of current and up-and-coming world champions. Schofield made his professional debut on October 9, 2020, with a skilled knockout over Richard Esquibel. Since then, he has quickly built out his undefeated, professional portfolio with a series of knockout wins. In March 2024, Schofield successfully defended his WBA International Lightweight title against the unconventional Esteuri Suero, who was disqualified in the fifth round for a low blow, point deductions and poor sportsmanship in the bout.

“Being on a card of this magnitude is very important to me,” said Floyd Schofield Jr. “I’ve worked super hard to get to fights like these, and now it’s time to show what I got. I step into that ring undefeated, and I will leave undefeated. H2O may doubt me, but he’ll soon realize he is facing an unstoppable force. This is my moment, and I look forward to showing the world what Kid Austin is capable of.”

Joining Sylve vs. Schofield on the undercard will be a 6-round Mexico-UK battle between boxing veteran Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and UK UFC star Darren Till who will make his professional boxing debut on Saturday, July 20. Chavez Jr., the Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico native and son of former three-division world boxing champion Julio César Chávez, “El Gran Campeón Mexicano,” the greatest Mexican fighter of all time. Chavez Jr. began his professional career with an impressive undefeated streak across his first 47 fights. Chavez Jr. climbed the rankings and became the WBC middleweight world champion in 2011, before being defeated by Sergio Martinez in Chavez’s fourth title defense in 2012. Chavez Jr. went on to reclaim regional titles and later won the WBC Continental Americas Super Middleweight title and last fought in his hometown of Culiacan with a UD win over David Zegarra. In June 2021, Chavez squared off with MMA star Anderson Silva, suffering a narrow split decision defeat and now looks to set the record straight as he takes on another MMA star in Till.

“I’m excited to return to the ring after some time off, and I’m motivated and eager to reestablish myself as one of the greats,” said Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. “I was the first Mexican middleweight champion in the history of Mexico and want to prove that I can again become a champion. My return to the ring at this historic event is an honor. On Saturday, July 20, I’m going to win by KO and continue my journey.”

“I am confident that my son Julio is focused, and I’m excited about that,” said “El Gran Campeón Mexicano,” Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. “This is his moment to make a statement,  together on the same card with my friend Mike Tyson. I will be there by my son’s side when he wins. He has a lot of boxing left in him and he will prove it on July 20th!”

Facing down Chavez Jr. on Saturday, July 20 will be UK UFC legend Darren Till, who will make his professional boxing debut on the Paul vs. Tyson undercard. Till, the 31-year-old star from Liverpool, England turned pro in Muay Thai at just age 15 and went on to train across Brazil and the UK in MMA. From 2015-2022, Till was a standout in the UFC, collecting 18 wins inside the cage, with 10 coming by way of knockout and two by submission. Till fought in both the welterweight and middleweight divisions and challenged for the UFC Welterweight Championship in September 2018. In February 2023, Till requested release from the UFC to pursue his interest in boxing and now trains with UK boxing legend and former WBO light-middleweight title holder Liam Smith. He is managed by three-time super-middleweight world title contender Paul Smith. Till will make his professional boxing debut in a 190lb cruiserweight bout against Mexican star Chavez Jr.

“I’m very happy to be a part of this event. Paul vs. Tyson is going to be one of the biggest events of our generation, and to make my professional boxing debut on it is brilliant, said Darren Till. “I’m very happy with my opponent. I’ve been a fan of his father for many years and I’ve been a fan of Chavez Jr. too – he is a great fighter who I respect, but make no mistake about it, I am coming to knock him out in the first round. I am happy with where I am in life, and I am coming to make a statement on Saturday, July 20th in Texas.”

“Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano will be epic bouts that captivate audiences worldwide, and we’ve worked diligently to create an unforgettable event that will leave fans on the edge of their seats. We’re thrilled to announce two additional fights that perfectly complement our main card,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “H2O Sylve vs. ‘Kid Austin’ Floyd Schofield will be a battle showcasing the future stars of boxing. These two young stars are disrupting the sport of boxing by putting their undefeated records on the line against each other so early in their careers, to evolve the sport and set an example for other prospects. We are also excited to have Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. make his long-awaited return against UFC star Darren Till, in a Mexico vs. UK showdown. Chavez Jr. will be looking to silence the critics following his loss to Anderson Silva, while Till, training with UK boxing great Liam Smith, intends to show the world he’s a real threat inside the ring. The biggest event in modern boxing history just got bigger, and we can’t wait for fans to watch on Saturday, July 20 live, exclusively on Netflix from AT&T Stadium.”

Additional information, including further undercard bouts, will be announced at a later date.

Official Statement on Paul vs. Tyson Event

The upcoming highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will unfortunately be postponed. During a follow up consultation on Thursday with medical professionals on his recent ulcer flare up, the recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations.

Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level. The health and well-being of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself.

Mike is expected to return to his full training schedule in the coming weeks and is eager to get back in the ring. MVP anticipates rescheduling the match to later this year at AT&T Stadium, and we look forward to an exciting and well-prepared contest between these two exceptional athletes. The new date of the fight will be announced by next Friday, June 7th.

“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” said Mike Tyson. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”

“I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night,” said Jake Paul. “My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake – when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish. Paul vs Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time and wish Mike a restful recovery. Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date. No action is needed to keep current tickets and current seat locations. Those unable to attend the rescheduled date are eligible for a refund at their original point of purchase. To request a refund, contact SeatGeek at dallascowboys@seatgeek.com with the subject line “Paul vs. Tyson”.

NETFLIX AND MOST VALUABLE PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCE THE MOST ANTICIPATED WOMEN’S BOXING REMATCH IN HISTORY, KATIE TAYLOR VS AMANDA SERRANO, STREAMING LIVE EXCLUSIVELY ON NETFLIX ON SATURDAY, JULY 20

Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) today announced that after two years, Matchroom’s undisputed super lightweight world champion Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs), will step back in the ring for the most anticipated rematch in women’s boxing history against boxing trailblazer and unified featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs). Taylor vs. Serrano 2 will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

Taylor vs. Serrano 2 will be the co-main event to the recently announced heavyweight match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson as part of Netflix and MVP’s first-ever partnership. This will mark Taylor and Serrano’s long-awaited rematch following their historic bout at Madison Square Garden in 2022, where they made history as the first ever women fighters to headline an event in the iconic venue’s history. The bout ended in a narrow split decision in favor of Taylor and garnered global acclaim for both fighters earning Sports Illustrated’s Fight of the Year and The Ring’s Event of the Year for 2022. Taylor vs. Serrano was also nominated for Sports Business Journal’s Event of the Year, a testament to the global reach and power of the event. The rematch between the ESPN-ranked pound-for-pound powerhouses, #2 Taylor and #3 Serrano, will be contested for the undisputed super lightweight championship marking a jump of three weight classes from Serrano’s normal featherweight division as Taylor puts all her super lightweight belts on the line. The women’s undisputed megafight will be contested across 10, two-minute rounds, Serrano’s only break from fighting 12×3, the men’s championship standard, for the remainder of her career. Paul vs. Tyson and Taylor vs. Serrano 2 is anticipated to be the biggest boxing event in modern history, and fans can sign up for presale ticket access at mostvaluablepromotions.com

Irish sensation Katie Taylor once again reaches for greatness as she meets Amanda Serrano in a rematch – with Taylor looking to add another remarkable chapter to her incredible boxing career as she defends her undisputed Super-Lightweight title. Taylor defeated Serrano at a sold-out Madison Square Garden in April 2022 in a stunning fight of the year contest that saw Taylor successfully defend the undisputed Lightweight title that she won in the same arena in June 2019 against Belgian Delfina Persoon. Taylor became a two-weight undisputed champion in her last outing in November, overcoming Chantelle Cameron in a rematch of their closely fought battle in April, with both fights taking place at a sold-out 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. She first got her hands on world honors in her seventh pro fight, claiming the vacant WBA Lightweight title in Cardiff against Anahi Sanchez in October 2017, and has been in 17 straight world title contests since that night en-route to becoming a two-weight undisputed ruler.

“This is the rematch the world has wanted to see and I’m delighted that it’s finally happening,” said Katie Taylor. “The first fight in New York was obviously an epic occasion and it more than lived up to the billing, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different. I want to thank Matchroom and DAZN for their help in making the fight possible and I’m looking forward to defending my titles as Undisputed World Champion in Dallas on Saturday, July 20.”

Amanda Serrano, the first-ever Puerto Rican undisputed world champion and seven-division world champion, started her current featherweight title reign by defeating Heather Hardy in a brutal 10-round fight in 2019 to win the WBO belt, and has since defended her WBO belt six times. Serrano offered Hardy a chance at redemption in August 2023, but successfully defended her undisputed featherweight world champion title for the first time in a decisive 10 round unanimous decision victory. Serrano threw a career high 1,103 punches in the bout. In a true commitment to change for women’s boxing, Serrano recently vacated her WBC title, as the sanctioning body does not support women’s choice for 12×3. Serrano, whose natural weight is 126 pounds, now steps up to super lightweight to face Taylor for the second time, aiming to add the Irish fighter’s belts to her current featherweight hardware in what would be a championship in her eighth weight class.

“I promised my fans they would see this rematch after we made history at MSG and it feels like a dream come true to know that Katie and I are finally making it happen on the biggest stage possible to show the world what elite women’s boxing is all about,” said Amanda Serrano. “While my focus continues to be on giving women the choice to fight with the same rules as men, I’ve always said that this is the one fight I’d go back to 10×2 for if that’s what Katie wanted. I’m coming for her belts, she wants 10×2, so that’s what we will do. I believe I won our first fight, but I didn’t get the decision, so this time I’m not leaving it to the judges. I am honored to share this iconic MVP card in the biggest stadium, on the biggest streaming platform in the world. Thank you Nakisa, Jake, Mike and Netflix for making this happen. And to all the young girls and women watching, I want you to know that anything is possible. Keep dreaming, keep working hard, and never let anyone tell you otherwise. It took me 15 years of blood, sweat and tears to get here, but it’s all worth it because I’m living my dreams.”

Taylor vs. Serrano 2 marks the latest in MVP’s series of significant women’s championship fights as the company works to establish equity across the sport. The event follows Amanda Serrano’s first-ever 12×3 unified championship fight vs. challenger Danila Ramos in October and the Paul vs. August special championship feature of MVP’s Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green vs. Franchón Crews-Dezurn for the WBC and WBA super middleweight world titles.

“When we announced Paul vs. Tyson, we stated that this would be the most-watched boxing event in modern boxing history and we’re here to deliver on a card worthy of that greatness,” said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor have proven they are two of the biggest names in the sport, male or female and their rematch is one of the biggest fights in boxing, so it’s only fitting for them to be a part of this massive global event. Anyone who witnessed their first battle knows the unforgettable atmosphere and performance Amanda and Katie bring when they step into the ring together, and this is sure to be a fight of the year contender again. Bringing attention to women’s boxing has always been a priority for MVP and we are thrilled to give the world’s most-anticipated women’s boxing fight ever a crowning moment on Netflix. Thank you to Matchroom and DAZN for working with MVP and Netflix to make this historic fight come to fruition.”

“Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are two of the best boxers in the world,” said Mike Tyson. “I know they can both put on an incredible show, and I’m thrilled to have them join this card. These remarkable athletes will undoubtedly elevate the event with their global appeal and fan bases. Adding one of the greatest fights in women’s boxing history to this unforgettable event is a true gift to fans. Saturday, July 20 can’t get here soon enough.”

Tyson-Paul: Don’t call it a fight

By Norm Frauenheim –

Outrage is boxing’s oxygen. So, take a deep breath, because there’s plenty of it in the hours since Netflix announced Mike Tyson-versus-Jake Paul.

Give Netflix some credit. It didn’t call it a fight, which of course it is not.  Netflix is calling it a boxing event. It’s not exactly that either.

Tyson-Paul has about as much to do with boxing as Boxing Day does in the Commonwealth countries, where people box up food and other leftovers for the poor the day after Christmas.

That’s an act of mercy. But there’s none of that in what Netflix, Tyson and Paul are planning for July 20 at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ big top in Arlington, Tex.

There’s only money.

They’ll grab what they can and move on, leaving only the usual outrage and absolutely no mercy for the crowd that always buys into these events. It’s happening because there’s a market for it and there always will be.

There are reasonable questions, of course. By now, most of them have already been posted on outrage media.

Will Texas regulators call it an exhibition or sanction it? Will Texas drug-test Tyson, a pot farmer and user, after suspending Keyshawn Davis for a positive test in October?

Then, there’s the age debate. Tyson will be 58, if in fact he doesn’t come up lame in the gym before the scheduled date.

Fifty-eight doesn’t exactly make him a senior citizen. He’s still seven years from qualifying for Medicare, which he might need after he subjects his aging, battered body to a workout regimen. But it’s his choice, his life. His payday.

Besides, the last I checked, two guys, one 81 and the other 77, are running for President. Maybe, the loser can face the winner, although I’m guessing only Netflix wins this one.

At the opposite end of the age scale, there’s the 27-year-old Paul. He wasn’t even around for Tyson’s memorable days as a feared heavyweight.

More than 11 years before Paul was born, Tyson, then 20, became history’s youngest heavyweight champ ever with a second-round stoppage of Trevor Berbick in November 1986.

On the street or in the ring, there’d be something unseemly about a young man against an aging one. If it were real, it’d be really wrong. But it’s really not. It’s a made-for-social-media event.

As a boxing writer and fan, I suppose I could join the outrage mob. But anger at Tyson-Paul would be as phony as calling it a fight. Prizefighting’s historical canvas includes lots of scars, yet not one draws a line between right and wrong.

George Foreman once fought five guys, all in one night. Ali once fought a Japanese wrestler to a draw in Tokyo.

Truth is, it happens throughout sports.

Jesse Owens once raced a horse. In the early 1970s, Evel Knievel rode his motorcycle in a jump over an Idaho Canyon, appropriately named Snake River. Bob Arum helped promote that one. ABC’s Wide World of Sports didn’t televise it, but it did televise Knievel jumping over 13 London buses before a crowd of 90,000 at Wembley Stadium in 1975.

Just last month, the East scored 211 points in an NBA All-Star Game devoid of anything resembling defense. In terms of competitive drama, it was about as real as Tyson-Paul will be.

I didn’t watch that.

I won’t watch Tyson-Paul, either.
