The event featured boxing’s biggest disruptor, international superstar and WBA #14-ranked cruiserweight Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (12-2, 7 KOs) as he faced his most formidable challenge to date, the victorious two-time unified WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion, Olympic gold medalist and knockout machine Anthony “AJ” Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) in a sanctioned professional heavyweight bout. The global megafight marked Paul’s second live boxing event on Netflix following his record-breaking bout against Mike Tyson in November 2024 and continued MVP and Netflix’s run of delivering must-watch, culture-defining live sporting events on a global scale.

At the press conference following the fights, the fighters had much to discuss. 

ANTHONY JOSHUA QUOTES

On dealing with Jake Paul and what he could have done better: What I could have done better is a lot of things, 100%. In the fight game, you’ve seen the amazing fighters that have graced us over the last hundred years. The expectations that we put on ourselves are immense, but I tried my best. Jake [did] well while it lasted….I wish that I could have knocked him out at the start, but as we saw tonight, Jake has spirit. He has some heart. He tried his best, and I take my hat off to him because number one, a lot of fighters haven’t got in the ring with me, and Jake did. And secondly, even when he got knocked down, he kept on trying to get up, and I take my hat off to him. So, America, I think you have someone who could potentially, if he still has the heart for it, come back again, dust the dirt off his shoulder, and come again, and maybe sell out this center sometime in 2026. 

On clinching, body shots, and the finish:  In the clinch, he [did] really well. When you’re in survival mode, you’ll always find a way. I was trying to look for certain shots. I actually wanted to let my hands go in the clinch, but he [did] well to tie my hands up. And as you could see, when they were free, I tried to land a few body shots. And yeah, I tried when I could. It was a bit messy, but from a systematical breakdown, the right hand landed, it found its home, and the referee waved it off after. I would’ve loved to have landed some more body shots, but it wasn’t for tonight. Maybe in the future, but we got the job done in the end anyway.

On whether his win over Jake Paul was a “success”: No. I needed to do better. No, it’s a win, but it’s not a success. I think my coach expects more from me, and I expect more for myself. But what can we do? We can’t reverse the clock. I have to move forward. I have to put that in the past now. After today, you may see a bit of social media trying to lap up all of the algorithm attention, but for me, it’s in the past. I can’t live off of that win. I’ve got a lot of improvement that I need to do, so yeah, I’m not happy.

On falling out of love with boxing and regaining his focus: I had to take a look at my life, make necessary changes to put my love back to the sport. This sport is unforgiving. If you don’t give a hundred percent attention, those belts would be torn away from you and be put on someone else’s waist who gives it the love and attention that boxing needs. I wasn’t giving it enough love and attention. It wasn’t that I stepped away because I didn’t want to fight. It’s that I stepped away because I knew if I’m going to be in boxing, I need to be a hundred percent.

On whether he would go straight into the Tyson-Fury fight from here: Yeah. I would. 

NAKISA BIDARIAN QUOTES

On the outcome of the fight: I could not be happier with the fact that Jake is safe, and more so that he showed his heart. I don’t know if you guys were looking on Twitter, but until about 20 minutes ago, the number one trending thing on Twitter wasn’t Jake Paul getting knocked out, wasn’t Jake Paul, wasn’t Anthony Joshua. It literally was the phrase #RespectForJakePaul. And I can tell you guys, I have so much respect for that young man.

On MVP’s growth in the past year: It just speaks to [MVP’s] ability to disrupt the sport led by Jake Paul at the forefront for a company that started in August of 2021, so a little bit less than four years ago. And I’m excited about what our prospects are going into 2026 in terms of boxing, in terms of women’s boxing, in terms of going international, and in terms of getting into different business lines as well. We’ve shown we can put on the biggest events in the world with the biggest distributor in the world, and having their support and their confidence and their belief in what Jake and I do on the rest of the team is invaluable.

On Jake’s performance vs. Anthony Joshua: The reality is Jake lost because of the size difference, not because of the skill difference. AJ was hanging on that neck, pushing him down. And when you have someone that heavy constantly doing that, it does suck the energy out of you. AJ talked about sucking out or taking out the man’s soul. He didn’t take out his soul. He did take out his energy, and that’s when he was able to get the finish.

On the UK’s reaction to Jake vs. Joshua: I’m going to leave you guys with this. I saw a lot of comments, particularly from the UK, about Jake Paul as a novice boxer who shouldn’t be in the ring with Anthony Joshua. He took some rounds from Anthony Joshua. It took Anthony Joshua six rounds to put out a man who’s been in the sport for six years and took on the challenge in four weeks, so put some respect on Jake Paul’s name in the UK. 

On conspiracy theories about the fight being “rigged”: It was interesting. Every time I spoke about this as a dangerous fight or put out a tweet that said no matter what happens, he’s already won, it turned into “you don’t even believe in your man.” But on the flip side was “the event is rigged, Jake’s going to win” or “he’s not going to knock him out.” Maybe the powers that be in boxing paid Jake Paul a loss tonight. Maybe that’s what happened. Maybe it was a flip rigged, right? Jake was going to kick AJ’s ass. But the reality is, my hope was that nobody would get hurt from the first fight of the night to the last fight of the night. And ultimately that’s what happened.

ALYCIA BAUMGARDNER QUOTES

On making history as just the second unified women’s world champion in history to defend her titles with 12 three-minute rounds: I’m still soaking in this win. And like I said, when Nakisa mentioned, ‘Hey, three minutes, 12 rounds, what do you think?’ I said, ‘Let’s do it.’ And to be able to say that I did it, I made history. I’m the best woman fighter there is in the game right now. My skills are a 10/10 and I’m only getting better. And that’s the thing. You guys see just glimpses of who Alycia Baumgardner is. And this was just one of those moments where you saw just a little bit. So I’m looking forward to what the future looks like and still continuing to fight these 12, three-minute rounds.

On setting a new standard for women’s boxing: I feel amazing after that performance. And yes, there is a standard, and there’s high expectations that I have for myself. The expectations that MVP has for me, when you think of an athlete, when you think of someone who is a competitor, you think of Alycia Bumgardner, and you think about Alycia stepping up to the plate and showcasing what she always talks about and backing it up. And so yes, it is a standard and I think it only gets better. Like he said, the knockout came in that last [third] minute. So I know exactly what that feeling is, and I know exactly how I want to do things moving forward.

On Caroline Dubois calling her out: Listen, like I said before, she’s a puppy, right? And with puppies, they need some potty training, and that’s what she needs. She needs some potty training before she steps up to a big dog like myself. And like I said, the standard that I’m setting for myself is 12 rounds, three minutes, and I saw her performance. She looked like she got tired, and she didn’t look like what she talks about. So she knows exactly what she has to do, and I know what I’m doing. There’s a difference.”

On what’s next for women’s boxing in 2026 and beyond: I think MVP is on the right path with already providing that platform for women. They’ve got a big stable, and they’re able to make those fights happen with all the women that they have at the moment. And when you have that against two elite fighters where no one can decide, and it’s fifty-fifty, that’s big fights, that’s big money.

On fighting at age 50: I don’t think about my age. I am training with the young guys every day, and I keep doing a lot of different training and I think age is only a number.

On the difference between MMA and boxing: It’s two different sports. Boxing for me is hard because the footwork, hands up the whole time, is very hard for me. But it’s two different sports. I think MMA is, you have different disciplines to learn. In boxing, you have to work on your footwork, your hands up, and a lot of different techniques. But for me, boxing is hard. It’s very hard to learn.

60-53 ON ALL CARDS FOR HARVEY

It took Anthony Joshua longer then most expected, but once he caught up to Jake Paul, he bludgeoned the YouTube star and scored four knockdowns en-route to a sixth round stoppage at The Kaseya Center in Miami.

Paul started the fight by circling the exterior of the ring like he was trying out for the Olympic track team, not really looking to engage and looking to land a pot shot from time to time. Joshua loaded up on several occasions and swung at air.

Finally in round five, Paul started to look fatigued and Joshua landed some body shots that started to slow Paul down Later In the round, Joshua landed a big right hand that put Paul on the canvas. Joshua started to smell blood and dropped Paul with another right. Paul tried to fight back and was able to get out of the round. With Paul hurt, Joshua scored two knockdowns in round six with the latter being a crushing right to jaw and the Paul did not beat the count at 1:31.

Joshua, 243.4 lbs of Watford, ENG is 29-4 with 26 knockouts. Paul.216.6 lbs of Puerto Rico via Cleveland is 12-2.

Baumgardner Decisions Beaudoin; Retains Unified 130-Pound titles

Alycia Baumgardner retained her IBF/WBA/WBO 130-pound titles with a 12-round unanimous decisions over Leila Beaudoin

In round four, Beaudoin began to swell under left eye.

At the end of round seven, Baumgardner landed a short right to the side of the chin that sent Beaudoin down.

Baumgardner, 129.2 ls of Dallas won by scores of 117-110 twice and 118-109 and is now 17-1. Beaudoin, 130 lbs of Quebec is now13-2.

Anderson Silva Knocks Out Tyron Woodley in 2

50-year-old Anderson Silva stopped Tyron Woodley in round two of a scheduled eight-round cruiserweight bout featuring former UFC champions.

In round two, Silva landed a perfect right uppercut that dropped Woodley hard. Woodley got up but was unable to continue at 1:33.

Silva, 101.4 lbs of Brazil is now 4-2 with three knockouts. Woodleym 194 lbs of Saint Louis is 0-3.

Harvey Decisions Cervantes

Jahmal Harvey scored a six-round unanimous decision over Kevin Cervantes in a super featherweight bout.

In round one, Harvey dropped Cervantes with a left hand.

Harvey landed 185 of 460 punches. Cervantes landed 37 of 196.

Harvey, 129.6 lbs of Oxon Hill, MD won by scores of 60-53 on all cards and is now 2-0. Cervantes, 130 lbs is now 5-1.

In round six, DuBois dropped Panatta with a right hook to the jaw,

Yokasta Valle retained the WBC Strawweight title with a 10-round umajority decision over Yadira Bustillos.

Valle was cut over her right hairline in round three due to accidental headbutt. In round four, Bustillos was cut over her right eye.

Valle landed 154 of 504 punches. Bustillos was 136 of 541.

Valle, 104.8 lbs of San Jose, CR won by scores of 98-92, 96-94 and 95-95 and is now 34-3. Bustillos, 104.6 lbs of Las Vegas is 11-2..

Avious Griffin rebounded from a a knockout defeat to stop Justin Cardona in the opening round of their eight-round welterweight bout.

In round one, Griffin landed a huge left hook that staggered Cardona to the ropes and to the canvas and he did not beat the count at 2:59.

Griffin, 146.4 lbs of Chattanooga, TN is 18-1 with 17 knockouts. Cardona, 145.6 lbs

Olympic Silver medal winner Keno Marley won his pro debut with a four-round unanimous decision over Diarra Davis Jr. in a cruiserweight bout.

Early in round one, Marley landed a perfect right on the whiskers that sent Davis down.

Marley landed 103 of 222 punches. Davis was 25 of 150.

So if they actually cared about the sport, they would want me to win.

On critics and fighters who claim his fights are not “real”: I give them a cease and desist letter in their email for lying on my name. Then the lawsuit’s coming right after because these people won’t stop lying. I honestly take it as a compliment, but people need to shut the fuck up. Deontay Wilder, he’s been hit a lot by Tyson Fury, so he’s clearly not the smartest guy, but there’s nothing in the contract. AJ can attest to it. We’re going to war and that’s the end of the day that all my fights have been like.

On whether he believes this would be the biggest upset in sports history: Yeah, 100%. This is the Giants vs the Patriots 2007. I mean, the list goes on, but the odds are stacked against me. There’s no sporting teams in history that have gone together where it’s this big of a difference in terms of skill, experience, resume, height, weight, etc. So this is going to be the biggest upset in the history of sports and you guys get to witness it

WBC lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois fights out of London, England. Her amateur career was nothing short of legendary, a dominant run that included winning the gold medal at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, becoming England’s first World Youth Champion (2018), and capturing four European Youth Championship titles between 2016 and 2019. So I linked up with them and [I’m] getting insight into how someone who’s achieved so much. It’s been phenomenal, man. It’s been a great experience, and it’s very challenging.

On how seriously he’s taking Jake Paul: He’s been professional now, what, four years? Five, I do believe, right? Five years. So after three years, I was the underdog and no one believed in me – I came up fighting the best in the world. You can’t underestimate anyone.

MONTREAL, November 4, 2025 — Domestic violence charges filed against Gervonta “Tank” Davis have led to the cancellation of his upcoming fight scheduled for November 14 against Jake Paul in Miami. As a result, the unified world championship bout set as the co-main event between Quebec’s Leïla Beaudoin and champion Alycia Baumgardner has also been postponed.

“Everything happens for a reason. My preparation was going according to plan, but now I’ll have even more time to train, to be even more prepared, stronger, and better. The date changes, but not the goal. I plan to seize my opportunity, no matter when it comes,” said Leïla Beaudoin, WBO international super featherweight champion.

For now, the event’s organizer, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), has not confirmed the new date or venue for the fight. The American promoter did indicate, however, that the card will still take place in 2025, will be broadcast on Netflix, and will still feature Jake Paul, now facing a new opponent yet to be announced.

Aside from the date, venue, and main event still pending confirmation, the rest of the card — including Témiscouata’s pride, Leïla Beaudoin (13-1, 2 KOs), facing the unified super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner (16-1, 7 KOs) in a 12-round, 3-minute-per-round fight for the WBA, WBO, and IBF world titles — remains unchanged.

Jake Paul announced another show this week on Don King’s birthday.

Presumably, it was a coincidence. It was also appropriate, or perhaps inappropriate depending on the perspective.

Put it this way: Not even King, 94 on Wednesday, would have been allowed to put a lightweight in against a guy who last fought at cruiserweight.

In effect, that’s what Paul plans, according to reports Wednesday of a done deal for an exhibition between him and Gervonta Davis, who might want to change his nickname from Tank to Tiny for another Netflix spectacle scheduled for mid-November in Atlanta.

Exhibition could mean just about anything these days. It’s a euphemism for anything goes. There are 65 reasons for why it shouldn’t happen. During an era when weight classes still meant something, that’s the difference – 65 pounds of leverage — between Paul, a natural cruiserweight and Davis, a lightweight champion.

Paul was at 199.4 pounds the day before his victory in June over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a unanimous decision in a 200-pound bout. Davis was at 133.8 for his controversial draw in March with Lamont Roach, who was robbed of a deserved victory in a 135-pound title fight.

Tank-versus-Paul simply would never have happened during King’s tumultuous era. Try to imagine Evander Holyfield, undisputed at cruiserweight in 1988, against Julio Cesar Chavez, the unified lightweight champ at the time.

You can’t.

King always pushed the envelope, crossed several lines of decorum, yet never really trespassed on the craft itself. Then, a 65-pound difference was off the scale, real or imagined. It was simply impossible, beyond comprehension.

But no more. Reasonable these days is defined by whether it can make money. Paul-Tank can, so it’ll happen no matter what kind of risk the massive weight difference creates.

Paul was a 227.2-pound heavyweight for a sad victory over Mike Tyson in a bout that Texas allowed, despite news that Tyson, now 59, had suffered an ulcer in May. His condition forced a postponement from July to November.

Still, Tyson’s performance was full of signs that the ulcer had impacted him physically and perhaps psychologically. He was hesitant at every turn and in every moment. It was hard to watch.

Yet, the fight went on, made possible by a Texas commission represented by Governor Greg Abbott. Gov. Gerry Mandering was there, at ringside, applauding a bout with re-written rules, including two-minute rounds instead of the traditional three. It was a sanctioned exhibition, as in anything goes.

In terms of money, it worked. The live gate at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, was announced at 72,300. The average ticket price was $302. Texas regulators did the math and smiled. Netflix reported an audience of 60-million households.

Those are numbers that add up to an encore, including Paul, the promoter, against Tank, an agile pound-for-pound contender when he’s ready and willing to do more than just collect a paycheck. He’s erratic in and out of the ring.  

What’s clear, however, is that a lot of viewers still follow. Tank continues to be one of boxing’s best draws.

What’s unclear, however, is exactly how Georgia will supervise. Rewritten, Texas-like rules? Shorter rounds? A ladder for Tank?

Everything is up for negotiation, including weights and the other fundamentals that have long defined the ring craft.

The key in so much of this is Paul. Within the ropes, he’s a fighter who says he wants to win a cruiserweight belt. Safe to say, somebody is going to give him that opportunity. He’s already ranked by one acronym.

Above all, he also has the best promoter of the day: Himself. He’ll say anything, do almost anything. He’s King-like in that way.

The difference is that King didn’t answer any opening bells, at least sanctioned ones. Paul answers all of them at multiple weights and does so with a successful promoter’s clout and money. He’s created his own audience, a so-called influencer with some unprecedented punch throughout social-media.

If the Boxing Writers Association of America had an annual award – say, the Don King Promoter of the Year, Paul would have already won it repeatedly.

Is that a good thing? Is he an evolution from King’s contentious reign, often marked by noisy feuds with Bob Arum?

Social-media, Paul’s home turf, has erupted with condemnation at his plan to fight Tank. The angry posts read like last rites. Boxing-is-dead, of course, is a lyric to a very old dirge. We’ve heard it. And we’re hearing it again.

Weights apparently don’t matter much anymore, but there’s still a lot on a scale that this time might provide an answer to whether it’s a game forever changing or forever gone.  

Jake Paul had to work hard in the final rounds, but he won a 10-round unanimous decision over former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a cruiserweight fight at The Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

The fight was fought at a slow place early as Paul was taking what Chavez was giving him, and Chavez was doing absolutely nothing as he landed zero punches in round one. Paul was landing some body punches and some left hook. Paul continued to ack up rounds and took a commanding lead.

Paul landed 140 of 482 punches. Chavez was 61 of 154.

Chavez made brief stands in rounds nine and 10. Paul was never in any serious trouble and won by scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93.

“It was great. I love that he brought a good fight in the end. I think the fans got a good fight to see him come out and throw some punches on me, and it makes me better. Julian Rodriguez scored the biggest win of his career by stopping previously undefeated AVious Griffin in the 10th and final round of their welterweight bout.

Over the first half of the fight, Rodriguez got out to a lead by landing some nice counter shots.

In round eight, Griffin dropped Rodriguez with a chopping right hand. Rodriguez came back in round nine by landing a right hand that buckled Griffin. In round 10, Rodriguez ducked under and landed a left hook that hurt and dropped Griffin. Griffin rolled around and with a bloody nose could not beat the count at 2:55.

Floyd Schofield scored the most significant win of his career as he took out Tevin Farmer in the opening round of their 10-round lightweight bout.

Schofield dropped Farmer in the opening minute with a one-two combination. Schofield then landed a flurry of punches tat was punctuated by a left hook. With Farmer hurt, Schofield landed a hard flurry and the bout was stopped at 1:18.

LOS ANGELES (June 25, 2025) –- Unified World Cruiserweight Champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (47-1, 30 KOs) has expressed his highest respect for the Mexican vs. Cuban boxing rivalry that continues this Saturday night (June 28) when he defends his World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Association (WBA) titles against the WBA’s No. 1, mandatory challenger Yuniel “The KO Doctor” Dorticos (27-2, 25 KOs).

Ramirez vs. Dorticos is the 12-round co-feature on the stacked DAZN Pay-Per-View event, presented by MVP Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions, featuring internet sensation Jake “The Problem Child” Paul (11-1, 7 KOs) versus Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs), the son of 6-time, 3-division world champion, Hall of Famer Julio Ceasar Chavez (107-6-2, 85 KOs), in the 10-round main event at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Legendary Mexican vs. Cuban fights include Gaspar Ortega vs. Kid Gavilan 1 & 2, Jose Luis Castillo vs. Joel Casmayor, Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Casamayor, and Armando Muniz vs. Jose Napoles, 1 & 2.

Mexican fighters are generally aggressive and pressuring, while Cuban fighters are known for their technique, footwork, and defense. However, in the June 28th matchup, “Zurdo” combines excellent technique and footwork, and Dorticos, nicknamed “The KO Doctor,” embodies his knockout style. 

“Zurdo” is 2-0 as a pro against Cuban fighters. In 2021, Ramirez defeated Yuniesky “The Monster” Gonzalez (21-3, 17 KOs) by way of a 12^-th round knockout and he stopped Sullivan Barrera (22-3, 14 KOs) in round four, flooring his opponent three times with body shots. In his last fight more than a year ago, Dorticos fought his first Mexican opponent in the pro ranks, Alan Campa (19-9, 13 KOs), who was stopped in the opening round.

“I have a lot of respect for Cuban fighters,” Ramirez said. “They always possess a lot of skills and are difficult fighters to deal with. Dorticos is a power puncher with good footwork, and I know he can be dangerous at any point of the fight. I’ve trained like I would for any fight, and I’ve never taken an opportunity for granted. Ramirez vs. Dorticos is a 12-round co-featured event. Paul faces Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (54-6-1, 34 KOs), the son of 6-time, 3-division world champion, Hall of Famer Julio Ceasar Chavez (107-6-2, 85 KOs), in the 10-round main event at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

“This is a great opportunity, and I look forward to putting on a great performance for my fans,” Ramirez said. “I think there is a chance of a possible world title fight in the future against Paul. He mentioned that he was ‘ready’ to challenge me during a recent press conference. I do believe he’s a man of his words and that he meant it.”

Fighting on the same card as Chavez, Jr., of course, is special for “Zurdo” for several reasons.

“His father is one of my favorite fighters of all-time and he did inspire me as a youth to pursue boxing,” Ramirez explained. “I think my fans and Chavez’ will support both of us. We are both from Sinaloa, Mexico, and have a lot of pride in our culture and country.”

Dorticos is certainly dangerous, evident by his 93% KO percentage, 25 of his 27 victories ending before the distance. But with a victory and no injuries, “Zurdo” stands to have two potential options if a match against Paul isn’t next. Next, he could add another world cruiserweight title to his already overloaded display case against reigning champions (IBF) Jay Opetaia (28-0, 22 KOs) or (WBC) Badou Jack (29-3-3, 18 KOs). And Ramirez is also closing in on the mercurial 50 career wins list.

“The goal is still the same,” Ramirez insisted, “becoming undisputed Cruiserweight Champion of the world. But we can still make the Paul fight next. We’ll see if he’s about the action or if it was just talk. I’m getting close to 50 wins, but my focus has always been on becoming a legend in the sport and collecting belts.”

After retaining an undefeated record for nearly ten years, Vega secured a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over Claudia Fernanda Herrera Lopez in her most recent bout in March 2025 to earn the WBA Fedelatin super lightweight title. Riding the momentum of that win, she now sets her sights on extending her undefeated streak as she prepares to take on Holm in her first fight outside of Mexico on Saturday, June 28.

Golden Boy’s Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (47-1, 30 KOs) has over a decade of experience under his belt, debuting as a professional in 2009 and embarking on a career that would see him make boxing history multiple times. In 2016, Ramirez won the WBO Super Middleweight title, defeating “King” Arthur Abraham by unanimous decision in a dominant performance. This victory cemented his status as one of the top fighters, and he became the first Mexican-born fighter to win a world title in the division. Ramirez successfully defended his belt multiple times, defeating tough opponents such as Jesse “Hard Work” Hart and Roamer Alexis Angulo. After five defenses of his title, Ramirez moved up to light heavyweight, where he went on a five-fight winning streak before facing Dmitry Bivol in a unification bout in November 2022. WBA mandatory challenger Yuniel Dorticós (27-2, 25 KOs), known as “The KO Doctor,” is a Cuban professional boxer renowned for his explosive punching power and success in the cruiserweight division. Born on March 11, 1986, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, he enjoyed a strong amateur career, finishing as a national runner-up multiple times and competing in the Boxing World Cup before defecting to the United States in 2009. Turning professional the same year, Dorticós quickly gained attention by winning his first 17 fights by knockout. He captured the WBA interim cruiserweight title in 2016 and went on to become the WBA (Regular) champion in 2017, defending the title until a loss to Murat Gassiev in 2018. In 2019, he claimed the vacant IBF cruiserweight title with a knockout victory over Andrew Tabiti during the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS), ultimately reaching the WBSS final, where he lost a close decision to Mairis Briedis. Known for his aggressive style and knockout power—evidenced by a record of 27 wins (25 by KO) and just 2 losses—Dorticós remains a respected force in the ring. He resides in Miami, Florida, where he continues to train and represent the proud tradition of Cuban boxing.

Most Valuable Prospects 11 marks a significant milestone for MVP’s up-and-coming talent showcase series in collaboration with Caribe Royale Orlando as it now comes to Canadian soil for the first time. Tickets for Most Valuable Prospects 11 are on sale now at Ticketmaster.ca. 

Canada’s own WBA light flyweight world champion Sara Bailey (5-0) will make a world title defense in the co-main event against newly named opponent Cristina “La Piccolina” Navarro (6-2, 1 KO), the WBA’s #5-ranked minimum weight from Zaragoza, Spain. The bout will be a 10 round women’s championship fight contested at 108 lbs. Also joining the main card will be an 8-round men’s super lightweight matchup between Barrie, Ontario’s “Marvelous” Mark Smither (13-1) vs. undefeated American Jaime Cuesta (10-0, 3 KOs).

MVP previously announced that the company’s undefeated #7-ranked WBA lightweight contender with the most-awarded knockout of 2024, “Prince” Lucas Bahdi (18-0, 15 KOs), will headline Most Valuable Prospects 11 against fellow undefeated fighter Ryan “The Untouchable” Racaza (15-0, 11 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout. MVP’s two-time Canadian Olympian, amateur world champion, and the #8-ranked WBA middleweight contender Tamm Thibeault (1-0) will also join the main card to face American Sonya Dreiling (6-7, 2 KOs), making a statement for equality in women’s boxing by fighting six, three-minute rounds. 

The co-main event will feature Canada’s own WBA light flyweight world champion Sara Bailey (5-0) as she defends her title against Cristina “La Piccolina” Navarro (6-2, 1 KO), the WBA’s #5-ranked flyweight from Zaragoza, Spain. Bailey made history in April 2024, when she dethroned Maria Bautista and became the fastest Canadian to ever win a World Championship. The Etobicoke, Ontario resident trains out of the West End Athletic Club, promoted by United Boxing Promotions. Bailey now faces a tough challenge in Navarro, who claims a decorated amateur career with over 50 fights. Navarro earned bronze at the BOXAM international boxing tournament and won gold at the Spanish national championship in 2022. The 35-year-old Navarro entered the professional ranks shortly after becoming Spain’s national champion in 2022, and now will contend for her first professional title on Friday, March 7. She trains out of The Boxer Club in Spain.

Also on the main card, Barrie, Ontario’s “Marvelous” Mark Smither (13-1) will face off against the undefeated Jaime Cuesta (10-0, 3 KOs). Smither, represented by United Promotions, comes to the ring off his latest successful Canadian Super Lightweight title defense, looking to continue his ascent in front of his home fans as Cuesta, a 26-year-old fighter from San Diego, California looks to prove himself on the international stage.  

On the preliminary card, Brampton, Ontario’s Doni Foreman (1-0, 1 KO) will face newly named opponent Pavel Ourednik (4-0, 4 KOs) in a 4-round heavyweight clash. Foreman, the 29-year-old standout addition to the pro ranks, comes to the ring off his debut knockout victory, looking to make a mark against Ourednik’s perfect record. The 24-year-old undefeated Ourednik comes to the ring from Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. Joining them on the preliminary card will be Boxlab Promotions’ young talent Angel Barrientes (12-1, 7 KOs) out of Las Vegas, set to take on Tonawanda, NY fighter Alexander Castellano (11-1-2, 2 KOs) in an 8-round super bantamweight bout.

Newly joining the preliminary card will be United Promotions’ undefeated 6’7” Olympian Ricardo Brown (12-0, 11 KOs), scheduled for an 8-round heavyweight bout. The 34-year-old Brown comes to the ring from Brantford, Ontario by way of Spanish Town, Jamaica. Brown won the bronze medal for his home country of Jamaica at the Pan-American Games in 2019 before going on to compete for Jamaica at the Tokyo Olympics. Alex Bray (8-0, 7 KOs), the 18-year-old sensation from Melbourne, Florida, will also compete on the preliminary card in a 6-round super welterweight bout. Bray made headlines in December 2024 at MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 10 when he became the WBA Continental Americas super welterweight champion with a dominant first-round TKO victory over Argentina’s Gaston Rios.

NEW YORK, NY – January 31, 2025 – Today, Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced its expansion into Canada for the 11th installment of its Most Valuable Prospects series, set to take place in Toronto, Canada at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto on Friday, March 7, available globally for free on both DAZN.com and the DAZN app, with no subscription required. United Boxing Promotions will serve as the official licensed promoter. Most Valuable Prospects 11 marks a significant milestone for MVP’s up-and-coming talent showcase series in collaboration with Caribe Royale Orlando as it now comes to Canadian soil for the first time. This international expansion follows MVP’s late 2024 signings of two standout Canadian prospects. MVP’s undefeated #8-ranked WBA lightweight contender with the most-awarded knockout of 2024, “Prince” Lucas Bahdi (18-0, 15 KOs), will headline Most Valuable Prospects 11 against fellow undefeated fighter Ryan “The Untouchable” Racaza (15-0, 11 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout. Canada’s own WBA light flyweight world champion Sara Bailey (5-0) will make a world title defense in the co-main event. 

This landmark event highlights MVP’s expanding presence in Canada, showcasing the country’s wealth of boxing talent and opening doors for the next generation of stars. MVP’s two-time Canadian Olympian, amateur world champion, and the #8-ranked WBA middleweight contender Tamm Thibeault (1-0) will also join the main card to face American Sonya Dreiling (6-7, 2 KOs), making a statement for equality in women’s boxing by fighting six, three-minute rounds. Barrie, Ontario’s “Marvelous” Mark Smither (13-1) will round out the main card in a super lightweight bout. Tickets for Most Valuable Prospects 11 will go on sale Monday, February 3 at 12pm ET on Ticketmaster.com.

In the main event, Most Valuable Prospects 11 will feature the highly anticipated homecoming of “Prince” Lucas Bahdi (18-0, 15 KOs) in a 10 round lightweight bout vs. fellow undefeated fighter Ryan “The Untouchable” Racaza (15-0, 11 KOs). Coming to the ring by way of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Bahdi, the 31-year-old top contender has gone undefeated since making his professional debut in mid-2019, winning his first 11 fights by knockout. Bahdi had unanimous decision wins against Diego Fabian Eligio and Diego Andrade Chavez in 2022 before resuming his knockout streak. In May 2023, Bahdi defeated Jesus Amparan to claim the IBF North American Lightweight title. Bahdi is a top-ranked lightweight by both the IBF and WBA. Bahdi proved himself among the best title contenders in the lightweight division when he scored a sensational knockout win over H2O Sylve on the main card of Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024. The finish earned Bahdi 2024 Knockout of the Year recognitions from Boxing Scene, Talksport, Dan Rafael, Yahoo! Uncrowned, and NY Fights. Bahdi most recently earned a decision win over Armando Casamonica on the undercard of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in November 2024. Bahdi now aims to cement his name as an up-and-coming powerhouse within the sport in front of his home fans in Ontario, Canada. His opponent, Ryan “The Untouchable” Racaza (15-0, 11 KOs) comes to the ring from Las Vegas, Nevada by way of Caloocan City, Philippines. The 28-year-old southpaw has finished his last five opponents by knockout.

The co-main event will feature a world title defense from Canada’s WBA light flyweight world champion Sara Bailey (5-0). Bailey made history in April 2024, when she dethroned Maria Bautista and became the fastest Canadian to ever win a World Championship. The Etobicoke, Ontario resident trains out of the West End Athletic Club, and has wasted no time taking the professional ranks by storm after a decorated amateur career. She enjoys a strong following both in the arena on fight night and on social media, and is backed by the passionate Iranian community. She is promoted by United Boxing Promotions.

MVP’s newest signee, Tamm Thibeault (1-0) will also join the main card of Most Valuable Prospects 11 vs. Sonya Dreiling (6-7, 2 KOs) in a middleweight bout contested over six, three-minute rounds. Originally from Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada, Thibeault began her boxing journey at the age of nine, inspired by seeing her father, a former CFL player, knock out an opponent during a Provincial boxing tournament. Following in his footsteps, she took up boxing at age 12 and was inspired to compete for Canada while watching the first women’s Olympic boxing competition during the 2012 London Olympics. The 28-year-old middleweight, a southpaw standing 6 feet tall, forged an outstanding career in the amateur ranks. A two-time Olympian, Thibeault made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, where she advanced to the quarterfinals of the women’s 75kg (165lb) event, matching Canada’s best-ever Olympic result in any women’s boxing event. She went undefeated until she returned to the Paris Olympics in 2024, earning gold medals at the 2022 IBA Amateur World Championship, the 2022 Commonwealth Games, and the 2023 Pan Am Games. Thibeault, who speaks French, English, and Spanish, recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Concordia University in 2023, which she earned over seven years while competing. She currently lives in Sheffield, England, where she is earning a one-year Master’s degree in urban design and urban planning while training at the renowned Steel City Gym. Thibeault made her pro debut while competing under men’s rules, three-minute rounds, on the main card of MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 10 in December 2024, defeating Natasha “The Nightmare” Spence. She is currently the #8-ranked WBA middleweight contender. Her opponent, Sonya Dreiling (6-7, 2 KOs), is the #13-ranked middleweight by the WBC and a former US National Golden Gloves champion. She comes to the ring from Albertville, Alabama. Thibeault will make her next statement for equality in the sport alongside Dreiling as they compete over three-minute rounds on Friday, March 7.

Also on the main card will be a super lightweight bout featuring Barrie, Ontario’s “Marvelous” Mark Smither (13-1). Smither has contested for regional titles in his last three bouts, most recently defeating Helmand Meran Alekozai for the Canadian Super Lightweight title in October 2024. He is represented by United Boxing Promotions. 

The Most Valuable Prospects 11 preliminary card will feature MVP’s three-time US national boxing champion and high-fashion model Alexis “Chop Chop” Chaparro (3-0, 3 KOs). The 24-year-old Chaparro, raised in Ridgewood, New York, competed at both the 2020 and 2024 USA Boxing Olympic trials. The gifted Puerto Rican athlete is also a high fashion model, having worked for Versace, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, and Polo Ralph Lauren, among others. Chaparro landed a sensational first-round KO win in his pro debut on Most Valuable Prospects 6 in April 2024, before scoring a stunning second round knockout win on the preliminary card of MVP’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry in July 2024. He most recently earned a first-round TKO victory on MVP’s Most Valuable Prospects 9 in Puerto Rico in October 2024.

Joining Chaparro on the preliminary card will be standout 29-year old prospect Doni Foreman (1-0, 1 KO) from Brampton, Ontario, who will compete in a 4-round heavyweight bout. Also featured will be 22-year old Angel Barrientes (12-1, 7 KOs) in an 8-round super bantamweight bout and his twin, Chavez Barrientes (10-0, 6 KOs), also set to compete in an 8-round super bantamweight bout. The Barrientes brothers are promoted by Boxlab Promotions and come to the ring from Las Vegas, Nevada.
