Before turning pro, Marshall made history as Britain’s first-ever female amateur world champion in 2012, handing Claressa Shields the only defeat of her career on her way to the gold. In October 2022, she headlined the first-ever all-female boxing card in the UK against Claressa Shields, attracting a record-breaking audience of over two million viewers, the largest live TV audience for a women’s sporting event in Sky Sports history. Following the bout, Marshall moved up to super middleweight at 168 lbs, defeating Franchón Crews-Dezurn in July 2023 to become the undisputed super middleweight world champion.

“Defending my IBF and Ring Magazine belt in a unification fight with Shadasia Green, on an all-women’s card such as this, is a great way to start my new journey with MVP,” said Savannah Marshall. “There are so many great women on one show at the iconic Madison Square Garden, and I’m beaming that I can play my part in it. Cannot wait for Friday, July 11th!”

MVP’s super middleweight powerhouse Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (14-1, 11 KOs) makes her third world title fight appearance against Savannah Marshall on Friday, July 11. Green, the former standout college basketball star and Team USA boxing silver medalist from Patterson, NJ, joined MVP in January 2023. Shortly after, Green defeated former unified world champion Elin Cederroos with a vicious sixth-round TKO, marking the first and only time Cederroos was ever stopped in her career. Headlining the preliminary card of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson in November 2024, Green defeated Melinda Watpool to become MVP’s first homegrown champion and the new WBO world champion at 168lbs.

“I am really excited about fighting Savannah Marshall, who has accomplished a lot in the sport. We are two hard-punching world champions who will put everything on the line,” said Shadasia Green. “I’m looking forward to putting on a great show, and I’m certain that Marshall will bring the best out of me on Friday, July 11.“

Cameron made her pro boxing debut in May 2017 and earned her first title honors in December 2017, her fifth pro fight, winning the IBO 135lb lightweight world title by stoppage. In 2020, Cameron moved up to 140lbs to contend for the then-vacant WBC super lightweight world title, defeating Adriana Dos Santos Araujo to become a two-division champion. Cameron unified her titles against Mary McGee in October 2021, earning a UD win to add the IBF and Ring Magazine titles to her WBC hardware. In November 2022, Cameron defeated Jessica McCaskill to become the undisputed super lightweight champion at 140 lbs. Cameron’s undisputed reign came to head against Ireland’s Katie Taylor in May 2023, when she successfully defended her undisputed crown. The win set the stage for the pair’s rematch in November 2023, which resulted in a majority decision for Taylor. Cameron returned to the ring in July 2024, defeating Elhem Mekhaled to secure the WBC interim super lightweight title at 140lbs, which she defended in November 2024 and now will defend again on Friday, July 11. Cameron is currently ESPN’s #4 and Boxrec’s #8 pound-for–pound women’s boxer in the world, resides in Northampton, England and trains under Stephen Smith.

“To box at Madison Square Garden in New York is a dream come true for me, and the fact that I’m facing a good opponent will bring out the best in me,” said Chantelle Cameron. “Friday, July 11 is a huge night of female boxing from MVP and I’m honoured to be part of it.”

Jessica “The Cobra” Camara (14-4-1, 3 KOs) is a 5’6” Canadian professional boxer born in Cambridge, Ontario. Camara’s career highlights include a significant win against former world champion Heather Hardy in May 2021 and a closely contested split decision loss to Kali Reis in November 2021 for the WBA, IBO, and vacant WBO super lightweight titles. Camara captured the WBA lightweight Gold title in April 2024 by defeating the previously unbeaten Choi Hyun-mi in South Korea. She most recently fought to a technical draw against WBC and IBO lightweight champion Caroline Dubois.

“Friday, July 11 is a historic night for women’s boxing, and I’m grateful to be part of it,” said Jessica “The Cobra” Camara. “Sharing the ring with a champion like Chantelle Cameron is an honor. I’m locked in, focused, and ready to leave it all in the ring.”

Ramla Ali (9-2, 2 KO) is a 35-year-old Somali-British professional boxer, philanthropist, high-fashion model, and social activist. Born in Somalia, Ali and her family fled the country following the loss of her brother in a grenade attack and civil unrest. At age 12, she took up boxing in secret to overcome bullying and obesity, becoming the first Muslim woman to win national amateur boxing titles in England in 2015 and 2016 before making history as the first female boxer to represent Somalia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She made her pro debut in October 2020, winning the vacant IBF Intercontinental title at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2023 in just her 8th pro fight before winning the WBA International super bantamweight title in a hard-fought rematch against Mexico’s Julissa Alejandra Guzman later that year. A passionate advocate for women’s rights and women in boxing, Ali established the Somali Boxing Federation in Mogadishu, Somalia. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the fight for women’s equality, Ali was one of twelve extraordinary leaders named among TIME’s 2023 Women of the Year.

“I’m thrilled to announce my return to the ring against Lila Furtado under the MVP banner,” said Ramla Ali. “After taking time to refine my skills and recalibrate my approach, I feel stronger and more focused than ever. This past year away from competition has been challenging but necessary—it’s reignited the fire that first drew me to boxing. Working with John Ryder and Tony Simms has completely transformed my approach to the sport, and their combined expertise has helped me develop as a fighter. Furtado is an extremely worthy opponent with impressive skills, but with my new training team behind me, I’m ready to demonstrate the evolution in my game. MVP has created an incredible platform for women’s boxing, and I’m honored to be part of this movement. July 11th at Madison Square Garden isn’t just my comeback fight—it’s a statement that I’m here to keep my place among the elite.”

Lila Furtado (11-2, 2 KOs) is a former three-time Brazilian super bantamweight champion at 122lbs from Guarulhos, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Furtado’s impressive resume glitters with notable victories including defeating Paola Pamela Benavidez to win the vacant WBC Latino super bantamweight title in June 2022 and the UBO World Title against Bestalia Sanchez in April 2023. Most recently, Furtado defeated Gisele Libanio by unanimous decision in December 2024.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity—we see all the exposure MVP is providing for female fighters and they have shown they are the home for the elite female boxers across the globe,” said Lila Furtado. “I’m training very hard for this fight with Ramla, as I know this fight can give me the keys to more opportunities with MVP. I’m training with world-level fighters in Brazil, preparing very hard. I’m excited to have the opportunity, and I will give everything to get this victory for myself, but also for my country. Above all, I am excited to be involved in a great fight on the biggest stage.”

“This is the most ambitious and historic card MVP has ever delivered—a stacked lineup of elite women’s championship fights on the most iconic stage in combat sports, Madison Square Garden, live on Netflix,” said Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions. “The card features an unprecedented level of global talent, including three of the top four and five of the top ten pound for pound fighters in the world. That’s like having Canelo, Gervonta, Crawford, Inoue and Uysk on the same card – well, we have it for the women and it’s going to be incredible. With five world title fights—three unified and two undisputed—Friday, July 11 will not only be a defining night for MVP as the leader in women’s boxing, but a pivotal moment for the sport as a whole.”

Marshall vs. Green, Cameron vs. Camara, and Ali vs. Furtado join a massively decorated card of women’s stars, topped by the trilogy megafight rematch of Ireland’s pound-for-pound great, undisputed super lightweight champion Katie Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs) and Brooklyn’s Puerto Rican boxing trailblazer, unified featherweight world champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs). In the co-main event, MVP’s reigning undisputed super featherweight champion Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner (15-1, 7 KOs) will face undefeated WBA Interim world champion, Spain’s Jennifer Miranda (12-0, 1 KO), a 10-round undisputed super featherweight championship fight contested at 130 lbs. Also on the main card, MVP and England’s unified super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney (10-0) will face Mexico’s WBC super bantamweight world champion Yamileth “Yeimi” Mercado (24-3, 5 KOs) in a women’s unified championship fight at 122 lbs.

On the preliminary card, MVP’s Danish two-weight world champion, reigning unified bantamweight world champion, and Boxrec’s #1 pound-for-pound female boxer Dina Thorslund (23-0, 9 KOs) will take on MVP’s IBF bantamweight world champion Shurretta “Chiccn” Metcalf (14-4-1, 2 KOs) in a 10-round women’s world title unification bout contested at 118 lbs. Also on the preliminary card will be MVP’s two-time Canadian Olympian, amateur world champion, and standout middleweight Tamm Thibeault (2-0, 1 KO), continuing to fight every bout in her pro career under equal rules to men, three-minute rounds, in an 8 round bout against the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF’s #1 contender Mary Casamassa (6-0, 2 KOs), contested at 160 lbs.

Caroline Dubois is also set for action against former world title challenger Jessica Camara as BOXXER kickstarts their 2025 schedule in Sheffield.

Simpson (15-0, 10 KOs) is the latest boxing star to emerge from South Yorkshire. Following in the footsteps of modern greats including Naseem Hamed, Kell Brook, Clinton Woods and Johnny Nelson, the undefeated 28-year-old will be looking to forge his own legacy having put his hometown of Barnsley on the boxing map with a dominant display to capture the British and Commonwealth Titles in August.

Fighting in front of a sold-out crowd at Oakwell Stadium, Simpson proved his pulling power and boxing prowess by dethroning reigning champion Zak Chelli via a unanimous points decision.

Simpson will be making the first defence of his belts against Birmingham’s Woodall (19-2-1, 12 KOs) and can expect a tough ride from the 30-year-old known as ‘The Stallion’, who will be full of confidence having claimed a career best win over the previously unbeaten Lerrone Richards in June.

Dubois (10-0, 5 KOs), considered by many as the number one prospect in women’s boxing and heir apparent to Katie Taylor’s throne, returns to Yorkshire having dropped and defeated Maira Moneo to claim the WBC Interim Lightweight Title at Oakwell Stadium in August.

The 23-year-old is targeting an all-British unification clash with Doncaster’s Terri Harper, the current WBO lightweight champion, but must first get past former super lightweight world title challenger Camara (14-4, 3 KOs), the highly ranked Canadian, who will be looking to derail the young Londoner’s promising career.

Callum Simpson said: “Winning the belts in Barnsley was a dream come true. It’s a moment I’ll never forget – hearing the crowd roar and seeing so many familiar faces made it extra special. Defending my titles in Sheffield is a great opportunity to bring even more people along for the ride and show them what I’m about.

“Yorkshire has such a proud boxing history. I want to do the county proud and add to that legacy. Being a Yorkshireman means having that Yorkshire grit and working hard. It gives me extra motivation to push myself and represent the county on the biggest stages.

“?Steed is a solid fighter. He’s experienced and I know he’ll be at his best. This is his opportunity, but I’ll be prepared for everything he might bring. I respect him, but I’m confident in my own abilities and preparation. I know I’ve got what it takes to get the job done.”

Steed Woodall said: “Callum is young and eager to impress. I will use this to my advantage. He’s ticked all the boxes so far, but his chin and resilience hasn’t been tested. I expect fireworks in this fight!

“This type of fight has been a long time coming for me and is one I will relish. This win means everything to me and providing a better life for my daughter. Styles make fights and I don’t have to go looking for Callum as he will meet me in the middle, which is exactly the type of fight I excel in. I wish Callum all the best in camp because there are deep waters ahead. May the best man win.”

BOXXER Founder & CEO Ben Shalom said: “What a start to the year. Two of the country’s brightest stars back in action for an unmissable night of boxing in Sheffield. Yorkshire has always been a hotbed for boxing talent. Callum Simpson is ready to take the mantle and fly the flag for Yorkshire on the world stage. He has a tough night ahead of him against Steed Woodall, who is coming off the back of an incredible knockout win over Lerrone Richards. This promises to be a real acid test for Simpson and an all-action fight for the British and Commonwealth Titles.

“Add to that Caroline Dubois, one of the most exciting female fighters in the world, in a must-win fight against Jessica Camara. Caroline has a big future ahead of her. She has her sights set on world titles and unifications but will need to be at her best to overcome an experienced, world-level operator like Camara.”

REIS: CAMARA IS A REAL DANGER

Kali Reis says there’s no chance of her looking past ‘dangerous’ Jessica Camara as they clash for the WBA and vacant WBO World Super-Lightweight titles on Friday night (November 19) at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, live worldwide on DAZN.

TICKETS START AT $30 (PLUS FEES) AND ARE ON SALE NOW FROM TICKETMASTER.COM

Reis (18-7-1 5 KOs) was in London and working on the DAZN broadcast as Chantelle Cameron booked her spot for a 2022 undisputed fight at 140lbs with victory at The O2 over Mary McGhee, and now Reis and Camara (8-2) battle to meet the Briton for all the marbles.

Reis didn’t just travel to watch the bout though, getting plenty of sparring in while across the pond as she moved towards the end of her camp for her eighth World title bout in a 26-fight career to date.

The 35 year old, who wrote and starred in a feature film titled Catch the Fair One, is eager to land the undisputed title in double quick time as she looks to achieve as much as possible in the game before pursuing more work in the film industry – but ‘Mequinonoag’ says that can wait as she eyes being the star attraction on Friday night and setting up the Cameron fight in style.

“Jessica hasn’t been at 140lbs or in the rankings as she’s been at 130lbs and 135lbs,” said Reis. “But she’s coming in off an excellent win against Heather Hardy, one of the pioneers of women’s boxing in this era, whose only loss was to Amanda Serrano who is one of the best to ever do it – so she’s dangerous, I know that.

“She’s improved from her loss to Melissa St. Vil too so I don’t overlook any opponent, and this is boxing, anything can happen. I commentated on her last two fights, and I give huge respect to her for stepping up and taking this opportunity, as there’s a lot of fighters out there that want to pick and choose fights and not step-up, but Jessica has stepped up so respect to her for that and she’s here for a reason, she wants to become undisputed too.

“She’s a lighter fighter coming up so she’ll have hand speed and fast feet, she doesn’t have as much pressure in a way as I have the titles to defend so maybe the pressure is off her, but as I said when I commentated on her, she has the composure of a veteran, it’s amazing, she had a huge hematoma on her head from the first round against St Vil and she didn’t bat an eye at that and against a legend like Hardy, she did her job, she’s very composed, she has great fundamentals and fast hands.

“I was in London to train but I am in this tournament, so my eyes were wide open for that fight. I was there to see potential opponents live and it was better being there, seeing them at the presser, the weigh-in and around the hotel, the whole energy around the event. We’ve been talking about fight Chantelle for a while now and it was a dream fight for fans in the US and UK. I like how she carries herself and to see her in person was great, she was nothing short of what I expected, she’s a delight to be around and she’s a very determined fighter, and you feel her energy when you are around her.

“Chantelle is a really good boxer and has that killer instinct that you cannot teach. She did what I thought she would do, and it was a great performance, but everybody is beatable including myself, I saw a lot but ultimately, she got the job done in good style.

“I spent a good week in London, we trained and sparred, Noel Callan, Hannah Rankin’s trainer, hooked us up and I think we had 40 rounds in three days, so we definitely got that work in! It’s becoming a regular trip, it’s the third time this year that I’ve been to the UK ahead of fights, it makes sense as you get the quality work over there.

“We have great sparring in America too, most of my sparring is with guys but we do have some females come in, but they come one time and they don’t come back, so it’s hard to get consistent quality sparring in Philadelphia. The only other quality sparring I get is with Katie Taylor when I am in Rhode Island but now I live and train in Philly it’s hard to do that.

“My Native American name is ‘Mequinonoag’ which means ‘many feathers’ or ‘many talents’ and my mother named me correctly, I’m blessed to have this personality where I am fascinated by art and storytelling and all aspects of life, and I don’t see just one path, your journey has many, many paths.

“So the acting and storytelling came to me and I am definitely going to explore it and see what kind of ‘World championships’ I can get in that world too, so you will definitely see me on the big screen again because boxing is a short career and while I have more to do in the sport, it’s a brutal one and I don’t want to outstay my welcome, so when the time comes to gracefully bow out I want to have my wits about me so I can do all these other things after boxing.

“Demetrius and I have known each other since we were young, we’re two Cape Verdean kids from Rhode Island. He started fighting way before I did, and I saw him as a teenager going to do great things as an amateur and we have trained together lots and we have the same strength and conditioning coach. We know each other very well, he’s my brother from another mother and it’s so awesome that we are finally fighting on the same card.”

Reis and Camara clash on a massive night of quadruple World title action, topped by Demetrius Andrade (30-0 18 KOs) defending his WBO World Middleweight title against Jason Quigley (19-1 14 KOs).

Murodjon Akhmadaliev (9-0 7 KOs) defending his WBA and IBF World Super-Bantamweight titles against José Velásquez (26-9-2 19 KOs) and it’s Mexico vs. Puerto Rico in the long-awaited showdown between WBC World Flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez (18-1 14 KOs) and McWilliams Arroyo (21-4 16 KOs).

CAMERON BACKING ‘TECHNICALLY SUPERIOR’ REIS FOR UNDISPUTED BATTLE

Chantelle Cameron is on a scouting mission this week as the WBC, IBF and Ring Magazine World Super-Lightweight champion hits the east coast to watch Kali Reis and Jessica Camara on Friday November 19 at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire live worldwide on DAZN – in a clash for the right to fight Cameron for the undisputed title in 2022.

Cameron (15-0 8 KOs) touched down in Mexico City yesterday to attend the WBC Convention and rub shoulders with some of her fellow holders of the famous green and gold belt, and on Wednesday she’ll arrive in New Hampshire to take an up close and personal look at the second installment of the road to undisputed as Reis (18-7-1 5 KOs) takes on Camara (8-2) for the WBA and vacant WBO straps.

Cameron booked her spot in the showcase fight for next year with victory in London over Mary McGhee in an all-action battle at The O2 a fortnight ago, just one of many breathless and exciting women’s World title bouts that have thrilled fans in recent weeks in the UK and America.

The 30 year old expects Reis and Camara to pick up the baton and leave it all in the ring on Friday night, but believe that it will be the American Reis that she’ll go toe-to-toe with for all the marbles next year.

“I think Kali will win on Friday night,” said Cameron. “Jessica is great opposition, a great fighter and tough as they come but I think Kali has the edge – she’ll land cleaner shots, move better and is a technically superior and will win it on points, but I’m excited because it will be a good fight.

“There’s been so many great women’s fights recently, the world title fights are always explosive over the two minute rounds, and I think this will be another one of them.

“I’ve been back in training already last week and getting ready to see who wins, and then I’ll up the levels again as I will know who I am preparing for.

“It was a great fight with Mary, I’ve watched it back couple of times, we put on a good show. It showed that I am improving with every fight, and it was a perfect fight to show those improvements and that I listen and take the instructions well from Jamie Moore.

“I’m getting better and better, and it’s coming in bigger and bigger fights, I don’t want to go stale or get complacent so it’s not just about winning fights but also about performance, that’s important to me.

“It’s so important for me to come out here. I’ll be in New Hampshire on Wednesday, and it’ll be good to see Kali and Camara not just on fight night but on the scales too and just around the hotel. I need to be 100 per cent prepared for the winner and you cannot beat being there in person, watching it on TV is a lot different. You get to see how they handle their business for fight week at the press conference and weigh-in as well as on the night, on my week I was so relaxed and no matter what Mary was doing or saying, I kept my cool and took care of myself, you can’t get under my skin as I am too focused on my job.

“I’m really looking forward to the whole week, I’ve never been to Mexico before, so I am looking forward to meeting the other WBC champions and spending time there too.”
